Such a nice place! Loved the location. Close to everything downtown and the Forest Lagoon. A wonderful place for four of us to stay and cook dinner in and relax.

We loved the historical feel, and the central location to everything! (The adorable red stop lights were a bonus)
3.5
Nice place.
The house is well located in the old part of Akureyri, from there you can visit plenty of places (museum, botanic garden...)
However we can hear the upstair renters walk above, not great when you are trying to sleep.
Toilet sear has to be replaced and the shower has a bad flow of the used water.
Tv screen is really small.
Photos on booking.com show the 3 different appartment pell mell, that doesn't help.
5.0
We loved the sea views and balcony, the spaciousness of the “common room”, the well-appointed kitchen and kitchen appliances and the cool vibe.

Best location closed to every nice things in town including most famous ice cream shop. The room is very beautiful, nicely decorated, convenience, clean and large. Extremely valued to money. Highly recommended.

would be nice to have reading lights in every room

The Loft was exactly as advertised--quirky, charming, and very comfortable as long as you don't mind the (VERY) slanted ceilings. Even though I hit my head once or twice, it was still part of the charm. The bed was exceptionally comfortable! Kitchen was well stocked with almost everything we needed except cream for the coffee, but the coffee itself was very good (and very appreciated!). I also appreciated that we could open the windows to get a nice breeze.
It would have been nice to have cream (powdered would have been fine) for the coffee. The shower hardware took some fiddling before any water came out at all, and the shower and showerhead all have a lot of mineral deposits built up. The sulphur smell from the hot water there was also the most intense of any place we stayed.
Lastly, we did not receive the entry key code 2 days in advance like the Booking.com email said we would. When I contacted the host, they sent it, and also sent me what they *thought* was a copy of what I'd received, which contained the code. I checked again, and what *I* received did NOT contain the code. I forwarded it to them and explained exactly what was missing, and they replied again that it was there. Now that I'm home I'm going to send the hosts a screenshot because they need to understand their guests are not receiving the information from Booking that the hosts think they are.
4.5
the spacious flat, the fact that it is an historical house and the location, relatively close to the city centre
while cooking the extractor hood could work better. the all house smelt like food.
5.0
We liked the location, the views, the history of the property, the recommendation for ice cream, and the aesthetic of the house.
We the only issue we had was with the parking. The final spot with the fence sticking out is challenging to get into with an SUV.

I liked everything. Beautifull house, near the city center, with all the necessary comodities for a perfect stay.

Beautiful historical house with all equipment.
In a bedroom was really loud because of the heating and bathroom hot water sound. was really hard to sleep of that sound.
4.0
Good location and parking. Bathroom was a good size and comfortable beds. Nice dining table; we didn't use the kitchen at all though. Easy to get key and access room.
The shower was a little small, which we found to be common in Iceland.

We loved our stay at Hoepfner house. The loft was very nice, super nicely decorated, and comfortable. The house itself is located within minutes of downtown, and there are a few places nearby to get some food and even great ice cream. Helga our host was very nice and respectful. We would definitely recommend this place and would come back!

more operable windows would be nice to bring in fresh air.

the apartment itself was nice
the staff was unreachable when we encountered an issue and had to wait in the night until we got a response to our numerous phone calls and e-mails - no apologies for the inconvenience. very disappointing.

Great location with water views
Old building
4.0
We loved the location, the furnishings, and the ease of checking in and out. The property is right next to an ice cream shop and has a great view of the water.
We loved the loft area, but it’s worth noting that this is a historical building, so the stairs are steep, and the floors can be quite creaky.
3.0
Good location
Tastefully decorated
Lots of space
Very limited cooking facilities
Walls are paper thin - can hear other guests
Need a checklist - 2 ceiling lights did not work in our bedroom . Only 1 bedside light
Only 1 channel working on TV
Instruction manual very limited and poorly presented- not good first impression!

The location was perfect. The bed was comfortable and the place was extremely roomy. Everything was clean and expertly put together. I really enjoyed the space. There were also pots and pans to cook with. Everything really neat and tidy. It had such a cool vibe and I loved the history.
Not really a huge issue but the door lock required a key from the inside to lock ourselves in, instead of a normal interior lock switch, which worried me in the event of an emergency because we would need to find and fumble with a key if we needed to get out fast. Luckily there was no emergency and everything was great!
