About this cottage rental

We have a lovely, very comfortable one bedroom, one bath unit that sleeps two, on a queen size bed. Our home is newly remodeled with a fantastic yard right on Lake Erie. The home is on a hill overlooking the lake with a million dollar view. There is no beach. There are several nice beaches close by. The unit is completely furnished and in a very convenient location. You can enjoy sitting in the large yard, relaxing, playing games, barbecuing and viewing the sunsets in the evening.

Vermilion is a quaint little town situated right on Lake Erie with its own beach and boardwalk. We are located two miles from the Public Boat Ramp in Vermilion. The downtown area has several restaurants and ice cream parlors and a very popular French restaurant. The Great Lakes Maritime Museum is also located on the north end of town. There is usually something going on downtown during the summer months; such as Music in the Park, antique car shows, in June we have a Festival of the Fish and of course we cannot forget the internationally famous Woolly Bear Festival in the fall. Who would think a little orange and black worm could have its own festival.

We are 45 minutes from downtown Cleveland and 25 minutes from Cedar Point. Kalahari Water Park and Great Wolf Lodge are just as easily accessible. Catch a Ferry to the Lake Erie Islands, Put-in-Bay and Kelly's Island.

Ideal location, amenities and view for our week on Erie. Also the convenience of the little store across the street was huge bonus for nice and odds and ends. Ellen was a top notch hostess and her and her husband are very nice people.

Don't let the older photos fool you! This was a really comfortable, tastefully decorated and carefully maintained, one bedroom cottage with every amenity you might need while away from home. The hosts, Ellen & John were very friendly, accommodating, and available if needed. The view of Lake Erie is simply mesmerizing and we enjoyed the sunsets, watching the waterfowl and even experiencing the gale force windstorm that sprang up. A convenience store is right across the street, The Nest classic diner is just a couple blocks away and the location is central for area sightseeing regardless of which direction you turn. A 5-Star hotel would not have been nicer!

We loved the gorgeous lake view and the pine panelling inside the home. There was plenty of space for us which was good since the weather during our stay was not ideal. Despite the overcast, the lake was still amazing. We were fortunate enough to see eagles flying toward the trees. The owners were very nice and attentive... even sharing a jigsaw puzzle after we completed ours! Lovely location right on the lake and close to parks and town. We hope to be back another time of the year so the weather may be nicer.

Quaint home away from home for the two of us and our pups! Quiet with a large yard for roaming and relaxing lakeside. Plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy year round. Nearby Cascade Park is a hidden gem and a must see of the West Falls in our opinion.

The experience was everything we were looking for. Clean, convenient, comfortable, and relaxing. Just sitting in the yard, taking in the scenery helped clear our heads of work. We would consider coming back, maybe earlier in the year to take advantage of more events/open venues ( lighthouses, cruises).

Very clean and well maintained cottage with an excellent lake view. My wife and I have a very hectic life and we wanted a peaceful stress free vacation. This was exactly what we were hoping for. The property owners were friendly and hospitable. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the place to go. We are going to set up a future reservation.

Downtown Vermilion has some quaint shops and a variety of restaurants to fit every budget and taste. There are a number of nice wineries and orchards close by as well making this a perfect Fall get-away spot.The owners are very friendly and genuinely interested in us enjoying our stay. We got very lucky that the weather was beautiful as well. We will definitely plan another stay here.

First and foremost, the location, price, and Lakeview are spectacular!!! Ellen and Jon live on the property in the cabin next door, so if you have any issues they're right there. Cabin is a little dated, but other than that our stay was good.

Ohio's best-kept secret! Ellen and John made the entire reservation/check-in process extremely easy. The property was clean and inviting. Location, Location, Location! Step out the back door and you're met with beautiful views of Lake Erie! Our stay was peaceful and relaxing! We're hoping to return in the near future! Enjoyed my stay with my dog. She loved the yard and meeting all the guests. The sunsets and sunrises were amazing. The cottage has heart of pine paneling just like when I was a kid. Everything I needed was there, just needed a trip to the market for coffee and essentials. If you like a rustic feel with all the modern conveniences, you should check this cottage out.

John and Ellen were great. VRBO can take a hike. The property was very well appointed and clean. Highly recommend it. VRBO phone staff were polite, but barely spoke english.
