Great 2 BR apt within walking distance to center of Bacharach
Great apt for a family of 3 or 4. Walking distance to center, parking. The friendly owners greeted us when we arrived and explained everything. Wine varieties in the apartment for sale, very nice.

A home away from home
We stayed in the downstairs apartment for five days in July. Ingrid was so welcoming and helpful. We have stated in many VRBOs and this was the most well appointed one yet. I cook every day and had all the utensils and pans I needed. The beds were comfortable. In many apartments we have rented, there never is enough suitable lighting. I was so pleased to see the bedside lamps! The location cannot be beat. Away from downtown noise, but an easy walk to the action. I highly recommend this rental! Hope to be back for the Christmas markets one day!

Clean, comfortable and well-equipped
The house is located in a very scenic part of Bacharach and is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very well - equipped and Mrs Brennig who received us on behalf of the owners was extremely helpful. Parking was free which was great.

Excellent Location and Hospitality
We stayed for 2.5 weeks with Ingrid and Helmut during Christmas and New Years. What an amazing place. There were six of us, ranging from 75 to 10 years old. The Kachels made our visit very special. Grandpa had special requests for equipment that the Kachels were glad to provide - and being on the first floor made the trip for the family.
The place was clean, with all of the amenities included.
The Kachels were very nice and knowledgeable about the surrounding towns and Christmas Markets, providing suggestions on wonderful things to do, see, eat, and drink. They even gave us a bottle of wine (non-alcoholic since we don't drink) as a welcome gift. They had Christmas decorations up for us, and we enjoyed their company - and proximity for questions (they live in the house behind).
Our stay was magical! Bacharach is on the Rhine river, with all of the castles, and is a great little German picturesque place! Plenty to do, and see, and taste.
We used the house as home base for a lot of day trips. It was easy to find, and always a welcome sight at night.
I highly recommend this place, and the others at this house too - they showed us the other rentals, and they are all wonderfully done and clean.
We will be looking to rent here again!

Perfect living space for parents with teen children or young adults! Very spacious!
We were a family of four with two young adult children and this rental was perfect for our family. Ingrid and Helmut have thought of just about every need you might have in this spacious apartment. They took us to and from train station to flat. We stayed in apartment one and highly recommend it. It's was a beautiful walk into town. Loved our short hike up to castle and using the train to get to other castle locations along the Rhine River. Everything in the flat works very well, the rooms are spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Definitely our best VRBO yet! Thank you Ingrid and Helmut.

Wonderful apartment on the Rhine
Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay in the ground floor apartment in Bacharach just before Christmas. We were warmly greeted by Ingrid and Helmut on the first day. Ingrid provided lots of information on places to go and things to do. When we arrived they invited us to go to the Christmas Market in Rüdesheim and it was the perfect way to start our holiday in Germany. We arrived on a Sunday when stores are closed but I was able to communicate with Ingrid ahead of time and she picked up a few groceries for us so we could fix breakfast the next morning. The apartment was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Our two college age children had two twin beds in a room and we had our own room as well. Bacharach was very quiet this time of year, but we enjoyed walking around this centuries old town and did find some good pizza and a wonderful bakery! We really appreciated coming home each day from a busy day of sightseeing to our apartment. We were able to park our car easily across the street so parking was not a problem, at least during this time of the year. Thank-you again to Ingrid and Helmut for your gracious hospitality and lovely apartment. We would recommend this apartment and hope we can return some day!

We based in Bacharach while we visited several of the German Christmas markets. We have stayed in vacation rentals all over the world and Ingrid and Helmut's apartment was one of the best. They were so accommodating, the apartment was spacious (even for American standards!) and was spotlessly clean. We had an enjoyable, very comfortable stay. Bacharach is so charming and after hectic days of traveling to the markets, it was such a joy to come "home" to our welcoming apartment. Ingrid and Helmut even decorated our place with a tree and other Christmas decorations, which made it even more enjoyable. Truly a top notch place. Would recommend without reservation!

GREAT location! Our apartment was well-maintained, clean, very nice! Ingrid and Helmut were so helpful and friendly. They provided us with information, useful advice, and exceptional service.
The apartment layout was perfect for 2 couples. A very short drive down the hill allowed us to thoroughly enjoy Bacharach. The town is a gem. We would DEFINITELY rent this apartment again and would refer it to our friends and family.

We rented attic apartment so had steps which we expected. Ingrid was very helpful, and even picked us up some groceries. They were understanding and helpful when our flight was delayed for 2 days and we stayed an extra day because of the 2 days we lost because of flight problems, we do not recommend flying with Condor. Ingrid called Condor to try and help us to activate a voucher Condor gave us (2 weeks later and after trying many things we still have not been able to activate plane voucher). The apartment was clean and hosts did everything to be helpful including taking us on a tour overlooking the city (we do not have a car) and dropping us downtown to shop, and to the train station and help buy our ticket from machine. The only thing we did not like was you had to buy your own wifi, but Ingrid gave us 3 free 15 minute ones and that was enough to check emails. Ingrid even gave us a drink and invited us for supper. We would definitely recommend renting or using their B & B.

Fabulours
We stayed in a bedroom sitting room with bathroom. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious and very comfortable. It was conveniently located and a nice walk to the main part of town. The breakfasts were great. and the garden lovely to relax in. Ingrid and Helmut went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Planned our train schedule before we arrived, got tickets to Rhine in Flames boat cruise, , met us at train station and gave us a tour of Bacharach. I would recommend anyone who comes to Bacharach to definitely rent accommodations from them. An absolute pleasure to stay there!

A Very Comfortable Property with Great Hosts
We spent 5 great days at this holiday apartment exploring Bacharach and the surrounding area. The walk to Oberwesel and a Rhine ferry to St Goar to explore the castle were particular highlights; both of which were suggested to us by Frau Kachel. The apartment was very comfortable - just what we needed after a weeks camping across Belgium and Northern Germany. The large sofa in the lounge and the fantastic selection of local wines to sample were particular favourites. I would recommend this apartment to anyone wishing to spend a few easy days in the Rhine Valley. The Parker Family, Lancashire, U.K.

Delightful, comfortable and affordable!
Our particular apartment had quite a few steps to climb but others do not. That is the only downside to our stay! Our English speaking host was particularly friendly, kind and helpful! Our visit was superb and we will most likely be renting here when in the area again! We would definitely recommend these lodgings.

Well equiped holiday home in scenic location
We enjoyed our stay in this comfortable, clean and well equipped apartment. The owner provided useful advice on local activities (in English!) and gave us every help we needed. The apartment looks out over vineyards and is located about 1Km from Bacharach town centre. We walked on the woodland trails directly from the apartment. The trains from Bacharach run hourly and give access to other interesting towns along the Rhine. A minigroup day ticket offers good value rail travel for parties of up to 5 people. Although Bacharach has only a small supermarket, there are plenty of cafes and hotels offering reasonably priced meals. The apartment is a great base to see this part of the scenic Rhine valley

Incredible place to stay!!!!!
This apartment is an incredible place to stay. After traveling around the world for five months we found the best place in the world. It is pristine, furnished with everything to the detail and Ingrid and Helmut are wonderful hosts. To our surprise, Bacharach is an amazing place. We would highly recommend staying here!

Great location, great hosts
Having booked previous accomodations we were planning to "wing it" for the last few days of our holiday. However when I was reseaching possibilities I saw there may be problems with availability. I contacted Ingrid she advised me that the apartment was not available for the full period I wanted, but she could help me out with another alternative in her home which was let out as a B & B. When we arrived we were met with the most hospitable hosts. Our rooms were very comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast the next morning was very good with a great range of cereals, breads, meats and cheese, eggs cooked and tea and cofee. Our hosts Ingrid and Helmut were most cordial and obliging. On leaving Ingrid insisted on taking us to her "special place" for a marvellous view over Bacharach. Although we didnt get to stay in the apartments Ingrid showed them to us.and they looked great. We highly recomend contacting Ingrid for your next stay in Bacharach. Lovely hosts and great accomodation in a quiet location, away from the many trains.

Perfect for young family of 4
Our family of 4 stayed here for 6 nights in March 2013. We have a 2 year old and 3 year old and the house was perfect! Plenty of room, kid friendly, clean, all supplies you would need and friendly owners! The owners greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the home. Shortly after, Ingrid came back with some toys for our girls. Ingrid and Helmut were around to ask questions, advice and were always offering their help. Ingrid was so nice to help with our laundry as well.
There is so much to do and see in the area. We particularly enjoyed touring the many castles that surround the river. The house is in a great location; close to many restaurants, stores, train station and historic sites. We walked a few doors down to dinner at a great restaurant a few times during a stay. The local bakery has delicious pastries and bread.
We would highly recommend this place for your stay and hope to go back one day. We would travel later during the year next time, as it was still cold when we went.

Absolutely Wonderful!
Stayed in the middle-level apartment for 6 nights and it could not have been better. Bacharach is an ideal location for experiencing the scenic Middle-Rhine region. Bacharach-Steeg is even better as you do not have issues with parking or with the noise of the 24-7 train traffic in the valley. We chose our time to coincide with the Rhein in Flammen event (Rhine in Flames)--a fabulous fireworks display--in the nearby town of Oberwesel. There was actually an event bus that left from 50 meters up the street. Our hosts, Ingrid & Helmut, went along with us and helped us find ideal seats to watch the spectacular. The apartment was perfect: quiet, comfortable, well-furnished and clean. Bottles of local wine were stocked for sale, as well as beer and water, at cost. There were notebooks of brochures in both German and English. The view from the front is of the vineyards traversing the hillside. We even brought a picnic lunch up the service road one day and enjoyed spectacular views of the town, the river and the castle. The only issue we encountered was trying to figure out the newly-installed on-demand hot water system for the shower. Helmut came to our rescue within 5 minutes. The Kachels were perfect hosts--there when you needed them and invisible when you didn't. Ingrid's English is great and Helmut speaks a little. Over 6 months has gone by and we are still sighing when we think of the time we were able to spend in Bacharach. We highly recommend this property and we will hopefully have the chance to return ourselves.

Lovely apartment, gracious owners.
We stayed for a month in April of 2012, great location near the train station. View of the vineyards from the front windows. Small grocery store, bakery and meat market
and winerys near by. The apartment is very comfortable the kitchen has everything you need. We had the first floor with two bedrooms, large living room, kitchen and very nice bathroom. With a lovely garden area in the back. The owners were very gracious host and hostess. We spent enjoyable evenings with them in their garden area.
Bacharach is a beautiful town on the Rhine and the KD cruise ship stops there. You can travel up and down the Rhine. There are several restaurants and stores. We highly recommend staying here. We had a wonderful holiday.

Great Stay for family of 6!
We had a great time in Bacharach staying in this apartment and we highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Upper Rhein area. We were very comfortable with a family of six and everyone had their own bed (1 used sleeper sofa) and it had everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The hosts, Ingid and Helmut, were extremely helpful and nice. They picked up our bags at the train station and later gave us a ride to the grocery store to help us get settled in. They also let us use their washer & dryer so that we could clean some clothes and gave us some great tips on things to see in the area. We went to 4 different places in Germany on this trip and Bacharach was our favorite!

I would highly recomment this Holiday home. We were there for a month. Excellent location for traveling in the middle Rhine. We had the twin German rail pass, the train was very easy to walk to from the apartment. and we also traveled on the KD cruise line which docks are there on the Rhine in Bacharach we traveled to Koblenz and back on the cruise ship. We walked the wine trails that were right across from the apartment. The apartment is well equipped, very comfortable and clean. There is a bakery, butcher shop and small grocery store in Bacharach and an information center with a computer for use. There are many resturants and wineries. The landlords live right behind they have a lovely patio which we were invited to serveral times. They took us to Oberweasel for a witches party and on a holiday, driving us around and up to look outs on the Rhine, views that we could not have seen from the train.
It made for a very memorable vacation.
Thanks again Ingrid and Helmut for your kind and gracious hospitality.
