The staff were happy and amazing and the food was very good and well prepared. The experience was different and appreciated even though we were disappointed by the accomodation arrangement and lack of information.
We were accomodated in a double bed in a small tent far away from our single friend who was in a 2 x double bed large tent although I requested us to be near to each other. I booked the 2 tents with my ID number so there was awareness of my age! Noone mentioned that the tents were such a distance from the communal centre and the lighting at night was not good along the sandy pathways to the tents besides being exhausting to walk the distance with back problems. This was not acceptable. I ended up sleeping in my friend's tent as my husband and I could not possibly move around together in our tent and we couldn't swop tents as she would never had stayed so far from the centre on her own. It was also part of our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration of which Tembe was aware and did kindly leave a bottle of champagne in our room. Lighting in rooms need to be looked into also. This is constructive criticism which needs to be addressed.

Game drive was excellent. Guide was very knowledgeable and had a super sense of humour. He went out of his way to show us animals, even extended the drive by 20mins.
Staff could be more friendly, many members just walk past guests without greeting. Service was often done with a long face.
General manager is excellent, really makes the effort to make guests feel welcome.
Greater choice of food would be better

We totally enjoyed the peacefulness and tranquility of staying in the bush.
The staff were friendly and helpful. Meals were amazing.
Totally a place that I would recommend going to.
Plenty of large elephant and buck also saw Lion and lots of Giraffe.
We unfortunately had a lot of load shedding during our stay and It was not pleasant in the tents at night when the power went off and the aircon stopped. This is not the resorts fault but advise taking a rechargeable fan to help when the power goes out.

A nice lodge and a friendly team !

You can join a fantastic food service during your stay - everything is delicious, especially the fantastic dinner. The gamedrives are fantastic as well, through the green landscape of the Park, with beautiful sights like huge elephants, lions or lots of nyalas. Each gamedrive takes more than 3 hours, with a nice break where you can stretch your legs and have a coffee, tea or a cold drink. Driving a 4WD, you can spot animals on a self drive tour as well. The tents are beautiful, situated directly next to the fence and equipped with all you need, including specials like electric blankets in the beds.

Excellent atmosphere, Friendly staff, Knowledgeable guides, Good full breakfast
Not a lot of food options for fussy eaters
5.0 / 10.0
We had 5 days of chicken and no choices at lunch time which is at 2pm that gives us no time to relax or have coffee as game drive was at 3pm . No labels or menu re food offerings and staff couldn’t advise upfront either ! No decaf coffee one morning either . Toilet didn’t flush for 2nights . Had to ask for towels 2 days in a row. Not what we expected and we have had a lot of game experiences around South Africa and was disappointed with the dinner and lunches .
Food choices and presentation
Game drives to early after lunch or lunch served too late

Comfortable room and friendly, helpful staff. Nyala, monkeys and guinea fowl wandering around gave us a feeling of being in a game reserve. Each tent has its own massage area outside and the therapist was very good.
An elephant park, but we didn't see one during a three and a half hour game drive. The ranger obviously felt embarrassed, so he took us to the hide later where we saw many at the water hole. We also saw plenty of dung and footprints on our drive, but not one big cat of any description. The roads in the park are in a shocking state which made driving around extremely uncomfortable.

FOod was good old fashioned home food. Nice. The Lodge is due for an upgrade I believe which is about time! The staff were their biggest asset and we were very impressed .
It needs an up grade which would be fantastic . Not many elephants and game !

Our guide on the game drives, Kulu was excellent. His knowledge of birds and trees was remarkable.

Breakfast was good. Location is excellent.
Can really try to accommodate visitors that book via Bookings.com to also go on game drives. We did send a message before hand to ask to join all game drives and was only informed on the day of arrival that there was no space for us. We weren’t informed that a package could be bought including game drives.

the game drives were awesome, Phil was a wealth of knowledge and really went the extra mile to make us happy!!!
the food was tasty, wholesome and plenty!!! I could not complain.
loved the free game in the lodge grounds, awesome experience.
I think the reception could be better.... i think you should print out a piece of paper with all the information on so we can see times etc..
we were unaware that there was wifi at R50 charge until the last day and communication wasn't good.
I also feel there needs to be someone to help with luggage when you arrive.
and the main gate should be manned during the day as we were not sure what to do when we got there ...luckily there was someone leaving who informed u to open the gate ourselves.

The food was homely and tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful. The game drives most enjoyable and exciting with close up elephant encounters.
The rooms, outside showers and ablutions are dirty and dusty and in need of good housekeeping.
