This flat is exactly as shown and even better. The attention to detail is the best I've seen in a rental. We loved using Valerie's flat as a base to discover Provence. It is perfectly located next to the Palais Papes. (and parking garage) Valerie had all kinds of wonderful suggestions and was very responsive to every question we had. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Avignon!

Comfortable apartment for two in Avignon. Walkable to all locations in old city.

Great location, delightful outside terrace and very quiet given we were in the middle of historic center. Property manager and owner both very responsive. Would definitely rent again.

Unfortunately 5 is the highest rating available. In all categories the property exceeded that. Everything from booking to check out and everything in between was amazing. Proximity to all the sites and to restaurants was incredible. Host and her assistant were helpful and available throughout our stay. We will definitely stay here again when in Avignon in the future.

We enjoyed our stay. The appartement was well appointed, very clean and central to the city.
Our host was helpful and available.
Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at our Avignon apartment. Very comfortable and pleasant! The apartment was perfectly situated close to sights, restaurants, and garage to park a car, if needed.
Valérie, the owner of the apartment, really made our experience enjoyable providing us with both information and help, help (without expaining here) that we shall be forever grateful. More than once she came to our aid, always with a wonderful and kind spirit. We appreciate not only our time there, but also our acquaintance with Valerie.

This place was SO beautiful, and incredibly quiet given location. Right next to the palais du papes and parking, bike rental, restaurants…wow. Such a great value for the price, too. I wish we had spent our whole trip here.

Would not consider staying anywhere else in Avignon. Great accomodations for the two of us - much more spacious than we expected. Very well appointed and designed space. Great air conditioning. No complaints. Thoroughly enjoyed. Valerie the host even arranged our cab ride to the Train station on the day of our departure.
Great overall experience!

We spent 4 nights in Avignon following a Viking cruise. The apartment was ideally located - just off the square in front of the Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes). Easy access to dining, shopping, and of course, the papal palace. We planned to use Avignon as a base to explore the Provence snd Occitan regions and it worked perfectly. The apartment was an easy 15 minute walk to the train station. It was also 50 yards from the route for the free electric bus that winds through Avignon. We did not meet our hostess but she arranged for someone to meet us - and much appreciated by us, our greeter spoke fluent English. The apartment was nicely decorated, had a good air conditioner, and a lovely, small terrace for breakfast and dinner. The large windows make the apartment sunny and bright. I would highly recommend the property and would gladly stay there again if we ever return to Avignon.

Location was perfect. The apartment was very comfortable and clean. So nice to find things such as water, milk, wine…so we didn’t have to go out looking for groceries right away. Valerie and Irina were easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. Next time we want to stay longer!

Great location. Spacious, clean. Cool terrace, have a glass wine outdoors.

We had a delightful week in this well appointed apartment at the foot of the historic Palais des Papes. The living room and bedroom are comfortable and quiet. Many evenings we enjoyed our wine, bread, & cheese on the private courtyard.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Check-in was easy and the apartment was well equipped. The bed was comfy and we appreciated the air-conditioning and fan with the hot weather outside. The apartment is located on the ground floor which is perfect since the others in the building are up a narrow spiral staircase. We were just steps away from the Palace of the Popes, restaurants and underground parking. Definitely a fantastic place to stay! The one caveat is that we couldn't figure out a way to drive to the door to unload so we just brought our luggage from the parking garage to the apartment.

Property has everything you need and the location and communication were excellent. Would definitely stay again.

If you want to see Avignon this is the place to stay! Located near Palace of the Popes yet on a on quiet alley street, this apartmernt is charming, perfectly appointed, spaceious and clean. Excellent restuarants and shops near by. We rent via VRBO often and this is the best find ever! We enjoyed the small patio, the bed was super comfy and enjoyed having washer and full kitchen. Valerie is an outstanding host, from booking through meeting us to check in, she is super responsive and so focused on making sure your stay is perfect. Which it was! Why would you stay in a hotel when you can stay at this lovely flat? Home one day and ready to go back to see more of the area and stay at this wonderful spot.

Charming Apartment
Lovely apartment right next to the Palais des Papes. It is a two-minute walk to the palace, and the short set of stairs to the palace parking lift are even closer (around 20€ per 24 hours, but the convenience can’t be beat! Well worth the parking fee!) Four minutes walk to Place de l’Horlage and many restaurants.
Very spacious, well-equipped, easy to get in and out of (no stairs). Our host, Valerie, replied quickly to all my email questions and her agent, Irina, who handed us the keys was pleasant and informative as well. The apartment is EXACTLY as described in the listing, looks exactly like the photos. Big living area, Big bedroom, big kitchen. Very nice bathroom and modern Italian shower. Charming decor throughout. Shutters for privacy to the outside. Also, a private terrasse which we used each morning for coffee. The air conditioning worked fabulously. Even though the unit is in the kitchen, it cooled the entire apartment, even the bedroom, and it was 34C degrees when we were there.
If there is any downside at all, because it is a lower level apartment, it is not bright and sunny; so is you want morning sunshine streaming in, this is not the place for you. However, we LOVED that it was shaded; gave it a calm and serene feel to us. If I go back to Avignon, I will not even consider staying anywhere else. This has been our favourite apartment on our trip so far. Cannot recommend highly enough.

For Couples it’s Perfect
If you are a couple and you want to visit Avignon and other places in Provence, look no further. This apartment is clean, comfortable, spacious (much more so than a hotel room) and best of all, perfectly situated if you plan to rent a car. The apartment is on a quiet street just a few yards away from the Palais de Papes and the Palais des Papes parking garage which is perfect if you plan to have a car for a day or a week or longer. This is the best parking garage in the region and a one week pass is very reasonably priced. Valérie, the host, is charming and very helpful. The apartment is old (1500s) but well equipped with modern appliances. If that’s not enough, there is a nice private terrace just off the bedroom where you can enjoy sitting outside. Next time I’m in Avignon, this is where I plan to stay!

Beautiful and well appointed apartment
The apartment was very well located in old town, and the recent renovations make it a beautiful, quaint stay. We had everything we needed and found the hosts to be very responsive.
We enjoyed the patio daily and would not hesitate to recommend.

You couldn’t find a better location!
Love our apartment. A great bed a fabulous shower and you are 20 feet from the palais des papes. Full of live during the day and so quiet at night
Valérie was a perfect hostess. She responded very promptly and suggested restaurants for us that we loved.
For those who want to park in the palais des papes parking you can ask the staff for anything we were amazed at how helpful they were.
We will go back to Avignon and we hope stay at Valerie again

Great Location and Super Communication
We had a delightful stay in Valerie’s apartment. It was very conveniently located to the Palace of Popes and to everything else we wanted to see. Apartment was clean, tidy, and sufficiently stocked so one could cook, make breakfast and enjoy a bottle of wine on the patio. Her assistant, Irina, was super. She met us at the property and showed us the ins and outs. She also was arranged for a taxi service on our last day. We were most appreciative of the information given at the booking and during our stay. We would not hesitate to stay again and will definitely recommend to others. Thank you for making our visit to Avignon very special.

Calm in the Heart of the City
We loved being next door to the Palais des Papes and also having our very private garden.
The apartment is beautifully decorated, quiet and close to all the sights.
Couldn't have asked for a better place to spend a week touring the area.
Will return the next time we visit the area.

Pure Perfection!
This is an amazing property, everything was absolutely perfect…spotlessly clean, everything you could possibly need! Quiet, in the middle of everything. I was ready to move in permanently! Valerie and her assistant were available to answer any questions at any time. I would return in a heartbeat…Avignon was a fascinatinating city to just explore…

Perfect location
Our one week stay in Provence was made even more amazing by staying in this great apartment. Location is great with easy walking access to sites, restaurants, shopping, markets. Being so close to things we were a bit nervous it would be too noisy but not the case. Peaceful inside and out on the patio. The owner was great and easy to work with during our planning and stay. We would highly recommend!

Great location and apartment
The pictures don’t actually do justice to apartment. It is in the perfect location in Avignon. Valerie was very helpful and personally guided us from parking garage to apartment - the only tricky part of the stay. I fell in love with the Provence area and would absolutely stay again in this immaculate and conveniently located apartment with local charm.

Our stay in Avignon — January 2020.
We had a lovely stay in Avignon! The apartment was comfortable and elegant. The outdoor patio was quiet and a perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine at the end of a busy day of walking and sightseeing. The apartment location, next to the Palace, was convenient to the main sights of the old town. Would definitely stay here again.

Delightful!
This was an outstanding apartment, so beautifully renovated with everything we could want for our 5 nights in Avignon. We were met by the very helpful Helene, who also made sure that our taxi took us to the right place when we left and owner, Valerie, who booked the taxi in advance for us. The apartment is a stone's throw from the Palais de Pape and close to shops and places to eat. We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Avignon!

Outstanding apartment in great location
From the moment we checked in, our experience exceeded expectations. Valerie was helpful upon check in and gave us helpful suggestions on what to do during our seven days.
The apartment was very clean and appliances are up to date. The Nespresso machine was a pleasant surprise and there is a Nespresso store five minutes away.
The location of the apartment is 30 seconds away from Palais des Papes and two minutes away from Jardin des doms.
We ate at Restaurant Christian Etienne twice. First night was a tomato themed price fix dinner for 88 euro that was delicious and very creative. A few days later we came with friends and we all chose the second price fix dinner. Our meal lasted four hours and we all thoroughly enjoyed it.
We had a car take a group of six of us to Chateauneuf-du-Pape for wine tasting and lunch in the town. We highly recommend doing this.

Classic French
This charming apartment on a small pedestrian alley just yards from the Palais du Papes is exactly what you imagine the perfect in-city apartment to be. More than enough room for two people, comfortably furnished with a well-equipped kitchen, AC and a washing machine. The special bonus is a lovely and private patio off the bedroom. Very convenient parking in the Palais garage was well worth the additional 12 to 14 Euros per night. Easy 5 minute walk to a Carrefours grocery, another minute to a Monoprix. Excellent restaurants in the nearby small streets . Especially recommend Cuisine de Papas and le 46. The hostess is very accommodating and attentive.
We were a bit concerned about driving and staying in the city but the parking garage is right on the main ring road and driving to and from Nîmes, Arles, St. Remy, etc. was quite simple.

Location! Location! Location!
Spotless apartment just steps from the Pope’s Plaza on a quiet lane with very little foot traffic. When I say spotless, I mean spotless. This is the cleanest I have been in and my Mother taught me how to clean. Valerie has an artist’s eye for detail. Kitchen has high quality appliances. Bath is well appointed and has a great shower. Bed is super comfortable. But the piece de resistance is the sweet outdoor space with a couple lounge chairs plus room for dining table and four chairs. Perfect place to sit with a book and coffee and enjoy the gardens. The parking is a bit expensive at the Pope’s Palace but you can park at a free lot across the river and take the shuttle or walk. Depends on how much walking you can do. Everything is very walkable from this beautiful apartment.

Charming, comfortable and quiet.
The perfect apartment to use as a base to explore Provence. Nearby free parking just across the river a five minute walk. Also a free bus. Right behind the Palais but you’d never know it. After a week, hated to give it up.

Perfect central location and charming accommodation
Lovely, well furnished and well equipped apartment within easy walking distance of everything in Avignon. Perfect size for two persons, with a sweet outside terrace for a drink or snack, weather permitting. Efficient, helpful and charming caretaker. Will certainly return when next in Avignon.

Avignon Adventure
We enjoyed a fabulous 2 week stay in Valerie’s apartment. The apartment was ideally located in the centre of Avignon. Busses and trains were a 15 minute walk away which gave access to explore neighbouring town and cities. Food markets were easily accessible and delicious. People were friendly and there were great restaurants near by.
Many thanks to Valerie and Helene .

Wonderful apartment in an amazing area
The apartment owner was very responsive to all of our questions prior to and after booking. We were met at the apartment and received a thourough orientation. The apartment is in a very old building rich with history. The apartment was large, lovely and updated with a Nespresso for coffee, a convection stove/oven and washer. It was well supplied and very comfortable. The apartment was literally steps from the courtyard of the Pope's Palace. It was easy walking distance to other historical sites and restaurants. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this apartment.

Charming in Every Way (stay here!)
Everything about this apartment lives up to the 5-star reviews we read before booking. Valèrie was gracious as she welcomed us, sharing information and recommendations. It’s a wonderful location for everything in Avignon, and a great base for exploring Provence. We would stay here again!
Tips
Laundry: An earlier reviewer mentioned no clothes dryer. True. There are two fans in the apartment. After positioning our clothes on the large drying rack, we put a fan on each side, turned on high these shortened the drying time considerably. There’s also a towel warmer in the shower room. We draped jeans over it and they dried quite quickly.
Ground floor location: An earlier reviewer mentioned mustiness associated with the apartment’s location (lower floor) and rainy weather. That must have been an unusual occurrence. It rained during our visit. I have allergies and asthma easily triggered by must and mold but did not notice any and had no issues.
Restaurants: If dining in Avignon it helps to make a reservation for dinner or go as soon as the restaurant opens in the evening.
Les Calanques: If you are visiting in the cooler months and like hiking, these cliffs along the Mediterranean are simply magnificent. Cassis is about a 90-minute drive. We went early and were able to park on the street very close to the trail head. Nothing is particularly well marked, so research ahead of time pays off. (take plenty of water)

Super VRBO in heart of Avignon
Recently (Sept. 2018) spent 4 nights with my wife in Avignon. This apartment was outstanding. Great location, close to sights, restaurants. Parking is almost immediately next door, and very easy to get from the parking garage to the main highways. Thanks to Veronique for helping us to get set up quickly.
We really enjoyed the use of the small patio while we were there. It is very quiet and private, especially considering how close it is to the main tourist attractions
AC and all other facilities worked well. Bed was comfortable, and the rooms spacious and charming. All in all an excellent choice, and great value for Avignon

Simply exceptional.
Awesome location with the Palais in the backyard. Helene and Valerie both communicate excellently and make every effort to accommodate. We had a wonderful 6 night stay in Avignon, and I could not have imagined a better apartment! Excellent AC as well. Thank you both!!
