About this cottage rental

Oceanfront, 1 bedroom in Owl's Head. Spectacular views of Penobscot Bay, Rockland Breakwater Lighthouse and major offshore islands. Minutes from beaches, ferries, museums, art galleries, tall ships/charters, lakes, shopping, Rockport, and Camden. Excellent local restaurants. Numerous festivals during Summer season. Watch the ships and sunrise from the deck right at water's edge. Bring your own canoe and put it in! Quiet dead end street .I mile from town.

We do not allow winter rentals. Rent week starts on Saturday to Saturday .

Great location to all the sites and activities surrounding the area. The cottage is perfect for 2 people. If you don't want a lot of excitement this place is for you. Enjoyed the daily feeding of the seagulls from the owner next door! Wonderful time.

Nice home-like stay with amazing views. Great sunrise, especially with the Coast Gaurd Eagle clipper ship visiting in the harbor. The bed was really comfortable.

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful week in Maine on Penobscot Bay. The cottage was perfect- clean, comfortable, ideal location, and a terrific view of the bay. Perfect for relaxing and taking trips to surrounding towns, hiking, restaurants, and beaches. Al and Rosie were super friendly and helpful and we hope to return to the cottage in the future.

peaceful and relaxing really nice kitchen and back porch loved cooking in the kitchen and watching all the different boats in the water the moonlight was spectacular as well as the area restaurants everywhere we went got 5 forks we will be back

Great location for views of the harbor. Quiet dead end street. Our hosts were very nice and helpful. For guests who bring kayaks, be aware that you have to carry them down some rocky shoreline to get to the water.

We were overwhelmed by the gorgeous view from the deck. The cottage is right on the water! The deck furniture is perfect. The kitchen has all you need including a coffee pot and coffee! The TV is in fine working order. Because my husband is so tall, he had to adjust to the double bed. We have a queen size. bed at home! The owners are cordial and helpful. We had a great week!

Older, yet comfortable cottage with all amenities. Loved the Maine dryer! Friendly host, responsive to our questions. Best part was the view; great from the kitchen, and better from the deck!

Terri and I really enjoyed our week in Owl's Head. Rosemary and Al were nearby and available but respected our privacy. The cottage is wonderfully located and comfortable. Everything we needed for the week was furnished. We enjoyed being able to bicycle to the lighthouse as well as on a relatively close by rail trail. Thanks for a relaxing week.

My husband and I spent a week at Rosie and Al’s cottage. We enjoyed wine on the deck overlooking the harbor. The house was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Rosie and Al were very friendly and helpful. The location was perfect.

The deck and view are outstanding. The kitchen is updated and has everything you need. The living area needs an update - old furniture of the garage sale variety. The hosts were gracious and proximity to Rockland was great

Spectacular view of Rockland Harbor and the breakwater/lighthouse from the deck and kitchen area. Every day we were greeted to a beautiful sunrise. Kitchen is well stocked with everything one needs to prepare meals. The bedroom and bathroom were on the smaller side, but it's a cottage so that was ok with us. All linens and towels were provided which is a nice touch. Oh, and there's a washer and clothesline, so don't overpack. The location is convenient to Port Clyde, Thomaston, Rockland, Rockport and Camden. Rosie and Al were perfect hosts. And so to end, we plan to return!

Rosemary and Al were wonderful hosts.They quickly responded to any requests we had. The cottage was fully outfitted and comfortable. The location couldn’t have been better, very quiet neighborhood, and the view of the harbor right off the deck was incomparable. The town of Rockland was minutes away. We had a very restful vacation, which is just what we needed. I would love to come back next summer.

Cozy cottage, modern kitchen, with spectacular views overlooking the bay and Rockland waterfront. Comfy outdoor furniture -relax, read or have lunch on the sunny deck and watch the sailboats and seabirds. Inside, lg. screen TV with many channels and easy chairs. Perfect vacation!

Perfect for 2 people…very well stocked with necessities….gorgeous view of boats in harbor. Centrally located to lighthouse, state park, lobster shack. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway.

Great spot. Perfect for two! Go to Owls Head General store to pick up breakfast. Eat lunch at McLoons. Be sure to visit Farnsworth on a rainy day.

Thank you Rosie! We had a great time! The cottage was very nice and well equipped. The shower is small but useable, it's a vacation not a full time home. The rest of the cottage makes up for it. Oh what a view! The owners were close by if you needed anything but left us alone to enjoy our stay. It is a great place to start your Mid Coast adventure from! We would come again!

The cabin was in a great location with perfect view of harbor. The place was well stocked in the kitchen and the owners who live next door very friendly. The only down side was it’s not well suited if you are large people. The bed is only a full size and the shower and bath was quite tiny. But great otherwise.

The cottage was perfect for the two of us. Very clean and the owners are extremely friendly and care about your experience. Loved sitting on the deck watching the birds and tides come and go. Close to shopping and good restaurants. Couldn’t ask for a better stay.

Our hosts were very gracious and most accommodating and this rental was an easy transaction, with no fuss. This peaceful cottage has everything you need - just bring your clothes and move right in! We never rented a place so generous with towels! The view of the bay was the best feature, with seals, schooners, ferry boats and the lighthouse clearly visible. The kitchen was very well equipped, but the Rockland area abounds with excellent dining opportunities, so cooking is not necessary. We did not use the washer, but we did avail ourselves of the "Maine clothes dryer" (an outdoor clothesline). The bathroom shower was a tad too small, but all the other positive features far outweighed that minor inconvenience. I have a walking disability, and was able to manage this rental just fine.

My mother and I stayed here for a week, and it is exactly as described. The views are incredible, and the location is very peaceful. You are at the end of a dead-end street, so there is little to no traffic. You can sit on the deck and watch the birds and boats go by. You are close to a main road (you'd never know it, though) and can easily drive to any of the nearby towns to sightsee and explore. I would personally find it a little tight for 3 people (better if 2 are willing to share the double bed in the bedroom) but for 2 it is perfect. The hot water tank is pretty small, so be prepared to take a "sailor's shower". The wireless connectivity is spotty, so don't go here thinking you'll get a lot of work done. The idea is to relax! You are about 2.5 miles from downtown Rockland, which is a lovely area to explore and shop. There is a farmer's market in the summer that is a great place to grab local produce and baked goods. The Owl's Head General Store is an excellent place to grab lunch. There are numerous places to go get lobster and other seafood - do it! It's all fresh and fabulous, especially the lobster. If you like lighthouses, you have 2 you can see from the property - the Owl's Head Light, and the Rockland Breakwater Light. Both are a short drive away, and the Rockland light in particular is a great walk. I also recommend a visit to the Marshall's Point Light, which is on the peninsula near Port Clyde. Lovely views from here. The property was clean and well maintained. The owner was lovely and kind. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend! We hope to come back.
