A lovely stay in a beautiful village

The house had a comfortable living room and well equipped kitchen. Close to restaurants etc. The supermarket in Sancerre is limited in supplies but there is a large supermarket in Saint Satur just a couple of minutes drive down the hill. Our host Stephanie was very helpful recommending places of interest etc. I would recommend Les Fossils to stay.

Charming house right in Sancerre centre!

Super charming house in the center of Sancerre. Everything was very easy to navigate. The city was especially quiet given its January but it really added to the charm actually. The house situated just in the center nearby to the free public parking was really calme and relaxing. Fantastic communication from host about collecting the keys and check in, she even notified me the space was available earlier than expected which was helpful. House is filled with lots of old charm but still very practical and functional. Kitchen was with all the necessary utensils and such, bedroom was very comfortable, spacious bathroom. Close to everything within Sancerre centre which is helpful and then grocery stores are within a few minutes drive. Very happy with my stay, Sancerre is such a cute little town, its well worth a visit and staying to enjoy.

Idéal au cœur de sancerre

Vraiment ravi de ces quelques jours passés à Sancerre. Le logement est idéalement situé et Stephanie a été aux petits soins, grâce à ses conseils et sa réactivité. L’appartement est également très chaleureux et dispose de toutes les commodités nécessaires à un séjour réussi. Je n’hésiterai pas à revenir. Merci 🙂

Parfait ! Je recommande ! On a pas envie de partir !

Tout était parfait ! Un accueil au petits soins, plein d’attentions. Il y avait tout mis à disposition pour venir avec notre bébé ! La maison est magnifique, nous en gardons un superbe souvenir !

Bedrooms were uncomfortably hot and owner walked into apartment unannounced which I found odd

No air conditioning in bedrooms which got very, very hot. No designated parking- each time I used my car I needed to drive around waiting for a parking spot to open up

Great property would 100% recommend it.

Really friendly and helpful owner. Had a great traditional French feel to the property and the location was amazing.

Ceiling a little low in places for those over 6ft. Other than that nothing!

Central location with lots of room

Great location to bars and restaurants as well as sights. Lots of space. Good size double bedroom with lots of drawers and cupboards. Kitchen was adequate with lots of utensils and plates etc. The owner made our stay very welcome with personal touches like bottle of wine and water bottles by the bed.

The windy wooden stairs to the lounge and bedrooms but got used to them after a while just had to be careful going down them.

I would defintitely stay here again

Location was excellent. It was only 1 1/2 blocks from most of the restaurants and a pharmacy and only about 3 blocks from the Tourist Office. The Coeur de France language school was only 5 minutes up the hill.

My friend found the bed in the second bedroom to be somewhat uncomfortable.

Fantastic location, beautiful, comfortable apartment and the host, Stephanie, is fabulous.

The location is fantastic, very central to the main village of Sancerre with an easy slight uphill walk to the village centre. Some amazing restaurants nearby and Stephanie provides a wonderful guide to the region with eveything from vineyards to visit, cheese and other local food and the best restaurants around. The apartment feels like a 'lived in' home and has all the amenities you could possibly need.

It really was great but a few things for less mobile people to note is there are quite a few windy staircases as well as the main shower is in a bathtub so a bit tricky to climb in and out of (there is a walk in shower in the upstairs main bedroom thought). The toilet is also on the floor beneath the bedrooms so during the night you have to walk downstairs, so again, this could be tricky for older and less mobile guests. Clearly, as with all buildings of this age, there are limitations to design and none of this could be changed, but just to make people aware.

We enjoyed out stay but wished we’d come a week later as a lot of things didn’t open until April.

The property was within a 5 minute walk of the main square where there were quite a few restaurants to choose from. Stephanie was easy to contact and gave us a list of local amenities before we even arrived.

There are a lot of stairs in the house, with the living accommodation on the first floor and bedrooms on two half floors above. There is no outdoor space to sit if the weather is nice.

thicker duvets in winter, total personal preference. I’d prefer the room to be cooler with thicker duvets, rather than heating on with thinner duvet.

great place to base yourself to visit Sancerre and the Loire Region

great location on one of the main entrances into Sancerre. Large, well appointed house spread out over 3 levels. communication with host was excellent and we also received a few tips on things to do in the area whilst we were staying. free parking out the front of the property . if this was full there is a large public parking area within 100 meters of the property.

stairs between levels were a little tricky (a little narrow and windy) and may be a challenge for those who have mobility issues. there is no toilet on the floor with the bedrooms which means negotiating the stairs at night to go to the loo. it can be a little noisy from the road due to its location.

Great location

It had all the facilities you needed and loads of character. It was an easy walk into the town with nearby restaurants Stephanie had left some eggs and a block of chocolate for us and she made time to meet us. We were very comfortable

Because of the position there was noise from passers by at all hours. This is something to be aware of if you are a light sleeper, but obviously not a fault of the property

My one issue is that I feel having a toilet instead of a shower in the main bedroom on the top would be preferable. The beautiful old stairs can be treacherous at night!

The perfect place to stay away from home:)

The apartment was perfect and extremely homely. There was plenty of space and all the features and facilities were amazing. The beds were extremely comfortable and everything was very clean. Stephanie was the perfect host and provided a lot of information about where to visit. She also came to visit us which was lovely. We would definitely recommend it and would happily return.

The town of Sancerre was a little quiet but I think this was mainly due to the season.

Very good

Location was perfect, 50 meters from the bakery. 100meters from the main square. very close to the main access road. Nice quaint cottage like appartment. the kitchen was well equiped and enough plates and glasses etc. Beds were comfortable.

The shower itself was quite good. However for older people the step into the bath/shower might be a bit high. We stayed in Feb and the capacity of the heaters in the appartment was only just about enough. i took quite a while for the appartment to heat up, but then it was fine.

Mobility-challenged visitors and parents of small children should be aware that the apartment is spread across 3.5 floors, with somewhat tricky stairs.

Ideal for a family stay

Very warm welcome, great contact with the owners, and the house was equipped with everything for a family. Ideal location for wine tasting in Sancerre and only 5 mins to Chavignol.

Comfortable, tasteful flat in excellent locstion

Location was very convenient, just a few minutes from the central square

Light sleepers should be aware that early in the morning .there is some noise from a delivery ban unloading goods.
