About this house rental
Immaculate modern lake house on deep-water cove just minutes by boat to Jimmy’s Creek and Pea Hill Creek. Beautiful safe cove with main lake views can be seen from the living and dining areas, as well as enjoyed while relaxing on the screened porch. Enjoy night-time fun around the new fire-pit!
The main floor has an open concept with seating for 4 at the granite topped island as well as a separate dining, opening to the living area. Hardwood floors, stainless appliances and granite counters create this modern home away from home, filled with amenities. The main floor master bedroom has a king size bed and a walk in closet. The master bath has a whirlpool tub and separate shower.
Upstairs has 2 large bedrooms, one with bunk beds and a Full (New 2019) bed and the other with a queen size bed and a lake view. These rooms share a large full bath & tub/shower with plenty of storage.
The lower level has a private room with a queen size bed, a furnished game room and an additional full size futon. The lower level also has a full bath. The game room is equipped with a flat screen TV a game cube and ping pong table. There is a walk out to a covered patio for outdoor dining, just steps to the lake. The Weber gas is also available for your cookouts. The kids will be entertained with a ping pong table, TV and Wii. Like the kitchen, all baths are upgraded with granite counters and new cabinets creating a modern feel.
The large dock has 8 feet of water depth, and offers two areas for boat tie-up for your use. Water depth is 3 feet at the steps near the shore to 8 feet at the outer edge of the dock. The calm water cove allows for safe swimming, floating, kayaking and paddle-boarding for worry free water play.
The landscaped back yard is perfect for badminton or Frisbee. The Lantana bushes attract butterflies and hummingbirds in the summer and at night chase the fireflies in the yard with the little ones.
Just a few miles to the public boat launch, there is ample space for multiple vehicles and your boat trailer on our property. Washburn's Mariana is also nearby for your boating needs (and a great morning biscuit!)

Beautiful home with everything we needed, in an amazing location - barely off the main lake. We loved being able to hop on the boat at the last minute to catch the sunset. We also loved coffee on the screened-in deck with a fabulous view, late afternoons on the dock, evenings making food together at the grill or in the kitchen, and nights at the fire pit and/or basement TV for Wii bowling. We were an over-18 crowd, with our kids and their significant others, but there is definitely something for all ages at this house. Thanks for a wonderful week!

We enjoyed everything about this wonderful lake house. It was well equipped with everything we needed, great location on the lake and the home is beautiful! The host was very responsive to answer any questions we had quickly. The home has a great layout and accommodated our growing family well. We would love to return again!

This house was perfect for our family. It was clean, had plenty of room, and well stocked. The dock and water access were great. We loved the “shallow end” for the little ones to swim in without their life jackets or floats. The cove was nice and quiet. Owners communicated very well and quickly.

We wanted for nothing and enjoyed everything about this beautiful home with outstanding views of Lake Gaston. The owners go to great lengths to provide everything needed … well-stocked pantry, toiletries, laundry soap, streaming services on the TVs, games, and kayaks.
There were 8 adults and one Tasmania toddler. The house accommodated all of us comfortably without feeling crowded.
We spent most of our time fishing from the dock and on the screened in porch.
On a side note, whenever we had a question, Ronnie was always available to provide an answer. He was so genuine in making sure we had everything we needed.
We’ve rented vacation homes for many years and this is one of the best we’ve stayed at.
Thank you, Ronnie and Jane, for providing such a great place with the all the finer touches. They did not go unnoticed and were greatly appreciated.

Our family had a wonderful vacation at this beautiful property. The weather was perfect so we could enjoy all the lake activities. The kids enjoyed the kayaks and swimming from the pier. We brought our own boat so we were also able to take the kids tubing on the lake. We love the screened porch with the best view. The house is spacious and nicely furnished. There are tvs on the basement and main levels.

The house was very well stocked. We didn’t need to buy any toiletries during the week. The screened in porch was my favorite spot in the house. It had a great view of the lake. The dock had plenty of chairs & we used the kayaks several times. We were able to dock our boat on the dock which was great & we went to several restaurants. All in all a great house & vacation.

I have stayed in a number of vacation rentals in Oregon and North Carolina. This was by far the best experience. The house is wonderful...I would be happy living in it. The location and view are terrific. The house is immaculate and extremely well-maintained.
Our goal was for a relaxing 4 days and we got it. Not an issue for us, but there is little else in the area. Few local restaurants. Watersview Restaurant is a very nice facility with very mediocre, overpriced food. The Pointe at Lake Gaston is kind of a sketchy facility with great food. So pick your poison!
One thing to know is that you need to bring your own sheets and towels. Besides that everything else you could possibly want is there, including a well appointed kitchen.

Great place to stay for a family. The cleanliness of the house was outstanding. The pleasant location to the water was relaxing. The only disappointments: none of the bathrooms are connected to the rooms, the master bathroom shower is extra small, and no TV’s in any bedroom. Otherwise everything was great, you can’t go wrong with this choice.

This house was a perfect size for our crew of 12. Plenty of eating/lounging space. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Neighbors on both sides were great people, house was just a short drive to the Food Lion and Gaston Pizza and only a 10 min drive to the Pea Hill boat ramp. Hosts were fantastic and accomodating with great response time!

This house was fantastic! The layout worked well for our family. The kids, big and small, lived the dock area and swimming. The porch was the perfect spot to have the first cup of coffee in the morning or nightcap before bed. The setting was so relaxing and we couldn’t have picked a better house on the lake. The owners were awesome too! Easy to chat with and answered questions very promptly. All-in-all, the family agrees best vacay in years!

Extremely well-equipped home, with much to entertain. Comfortable beds, and an ideal layout for generational family set-up (3 floors with their own beds and baths). There was an internet equipment failure on our first night, and the owners contacted us before we even got to contact them about it, and they were there immediately to fix it. The weather did not cooperate for this year’s vacation at Swallow Cove but we still had a Great family vacation. We were able to play games and watch TV shows and movies on the two Roku TVs. Between rain storms We managed to swim from th.pier, paddle the kayaks, and sit out on the screened in porch and enjoy the view. This was our fifth stay at Swallow Cove. The house is immaculate and well furnished for family fun. The kitchen has everything you might need to dine in, and there are restaurants and grocery stores near by. We plan to go back next year.

Ronnie and Jane's house at Lake Gaston was absolutely perfect for our two families (7 people total) to have a long weekend end-of-school celebration. The house was spotlessly clean, laid out perfectly on 3 levels for a multi-family stay, equipped with rainy day activities and in the perfect spot on the lake (small cove just off the main lake). Waterfront dock was ideal for swimming, docking our boat and even comes with two kayaks. We may have to make this an annual trip!

Great house overall. For us having a larger sink in the kitchen would have be better. The steps going to the dock should have a hand rail for older adults. We had a great time in the lake a perfect spot.

A great property. We had two families(9 total) and there were plenty of spaces to hang out from the screened in porch to the basement area, to the dock (alittle snug when we were all in one room, but we made it work just fine.)The kids really enjoyed the aquaglide! We caught a 5lb catfish, a little bass and a few brim off the dock. The property was well stocked with everyday needs. The grill was in good order and the kitchen was well appointed. Plenty of bathrooms, laundry room and lots of hooks to hang things. Everything we needed for a wonderful week at the lake.

This was our 5th time renting the house. It is warm and inviting and in a great location. We thoroughly enjoy staying here. The home is always clean and ready for our stay. Everyone enjoys jumping from the dock and the annual visit from some local turtles 🐢.
The owners are always available and communication is always quick, when necessary.

Great time!
We had a great time this week catching catfish, swimming, boating, island hopping and seeing family! The house was stocked with toiletries and the kitchen had what we needed. There was lighting down the stairs to the doc and a light under the dock if you are looking to night fish! There were lots of noodles and two kayaks for fun as well as a ping pong table!

My Dream Lake House
This is the lake house of my dreams! The pictures online don’t do the real thing justice - this house is gorgeous, roomy, and clean. Supplies for all our needs were abundant, and thoughtful touches were everywhere. Our older kids had a blast and went straight into the lake, which was refreshingly cool for such hot weather. The kids loved playing ping pong, fishing, and kayaking, too. The landscape and scenery were beautiful - loved the quiet cove. We enjoyed grilling and then s’mores at the fire pit. Our favorite part was watching the lightning storm over the water from the amazing screened porch at night. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Another great family vacation
This is the fourth year we’ve had our family get together at Swallow Cove. The house is always immaculate, comfortable and well-stocked with everything we needed. We all love the dock and kayaks, perfect for sunning and swimming. Easy access to the main lake for boating and tubing.

Perfect house on the lake!
Once again, this home did not disappoint. It really does have everything you could ever want for a fun and relaxing retreat at the lake. This was our second stay here and I’m sure that we will be back again in the future. The view is perfect, the cove is private and great for swimming/kayaking/fishing, owners are wonderful and easy to work with, the dock fit our rented Tritoon with no problems, the home is immaculate and well supplied - I honestly don’t have a single complaint. Stay here!

Perfectly Perfect
Our family had a wonderful experience. From the picturesque views, to the private cove, to the fire pit under the stars, the property was perfect. The house was decorated beautifully and came with the kitchen fully stocked. It was designed to maximize every inch of space with three unique floors of dedicated functionality which is ideal for multi-generational families such as ours. The fishing was excellent as well and access to the kayaks was a huge bonus for our crew. We hope to visit again one day and highly recommend this as your next stay.

Pod's Stay
Aside from the hiccup at the outset with regard to the need for us to bring our own towels and sheets, the time we spent at the lake house was great.
The first day we had rain, but thereafter we had clear, sunny skies and temps from 65 to 80 each day. We took advantage of the dock for swimming. The kids in particular spent many hours floating, paddle boarding and kayaking.
The house was well furnished and appointed. The kitchen had all we need to prepare each meal each day. An occasional run to the Food Lion was a convenient source for our needed groceries. The Ace hardware was our supplier for firewood; the fire pit was a solid hit on a few cooling nights. Coffee on the screened porch at sunrise is hard to beat.
It was necessary for us to tend to a few small housekeeping tasks. The key pad on the front door fell off and we reattached it as best we could; we suggest some new two-sided tape. The smoke alarm on the main floor decided to start chirping in the middle of one night; we replaced the battery. And the kids found a empty beer bottle under the basement sink.
The location on the lake is quiet and peaceful. We often sat on waters' edge to relax in the shade of the pine trees. Aside from having to negotiate many steps to get up and down from the house, overall, we enjoyed each day.
