Great spot! Easy access to Mt. Crested Butte via free shuttle, and super close to town. The only *notes* I have is that the downstairs shower water temperature was inconsistent (warm and then dropped quickly to super cold), and the backyard had about 5 feet of snow, which completely covered any area for dogs to run around. There was a thin path about 2 feet wide shoveled to the back shed, but again, not really a yard for dogs, which was a bummer for our pup.
Lovely place otherwise, just don’t expect much of a yard in the winter months.

Awesome house right off Elk ave. Had a rustic mountain cabin feel and very cozy after a long day on the slopes. House was very close to the shuttle pick up and had parking for our rent car. We were able to walk to all the restaurants and coffee shops. The only thing that would make this house even more amazing would be a hot tub on the patio. A+ rental. Highly recommend.

This is a very comfortable cottage with a lovely fenced yard and a gated front porch, which is perfect for pets. There is also a garden hose which reaches to the back alley for hosing off dogs that rolled in...you know what. We brought crates with us so the dogs wouldn't mess up the white carpet upstairs. There are wood floors downstairs. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The only downside were the oddly placed steps in the house...I fell three times tripping over the raised floor in the upstairs bedroom (no worries, there is thick carpeting). I would rent this place again. Great location, close to coffee shops and restaurants.

Great week biking with friends. The place was great for location, fantastic fenced backyard to hang with dog and friends, and garage was a bonus! It is best for 2 couples. It is tight for anyone on the couch. The suite upstairs has an open bathroom with the bedroom, and that is odd. The upstairs carpet makes a Velcro noise when walked on, kinda quirky. We will stay again, but best for one or 2 couples max.

I loved the house and the town of Crested Butte.
I loved the house and the town of Crested Butte. The house is quirky but very comfortable with a great location, and learning about its history was fascinating. As I noted above, I had trouble getting the issues with the TV and wifi fixed, but the team was very friendly and cordial.

The whole house needs a serious vacuum.
The whole house needs a serious vacuum. I did yoga in the living room on my first day and the carpet was so caked with dirt that I decided to lay down a sheet over it. It clearly hasn’t been vacuumed in a long time. The team was really helpful in providing a discounted house rate due to my last minute booking. However, they sounded pretty stressed when I called and they never called me back when they said they would. It was fine because I called back and someone answered.
Similarly when I asked about the Wi-Fi I got the response in effect, “There’s nothing we can do about it.” Which seems untrue considering the Wi-Fi at the local cafes is good. Also, you should explain to people who book that the Wi-Fi is not strong enough to work from home. The binder should also explain this.

Rental company makes a killing
We had a booking error that really negatively impacted our trip. Rental company had zero empathy. Keys left on counter for 2 days with property unlocked prior to our check in making us feel unsafe. Playroom smells like urine. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. Otherwise adorable cabin in a great location!

Wonderful
Awesome cabin. Parked our truck out front and never used it. Walked to dinner and hiking. Adorable cottage that is perfect for our small family. Especially loved having a fire all week in the cast iron stove. Clean, well appointed ….can’t wait to come back. Thank you so much!!

Cute, cozy and well-appointed cabin!
We loved our stay. Karla’s Cottage is close to downtown, comfy and cozy. We enjoyed the views from the upstairs bedroom, the open floor plan in the kitchen/family room, and the fenced in yard for our dog. The wood burning stove was a big plus. We will be back!

Great Place to Stay in Town
Great house to share with another couple or a couple of family members. We loved how close it was to town! The kitchen and living space was great. Unfortunately the weather wasn't great so we didn't get to enjoy the nice backyard.

Quaint cabin-style house within walking distance to town center
Very nice cabin, thoughtfully outfitted and very clean. Nice outdoor space to relax and chill with the dog. Only negative was a mattress in the downstairs bedroom that should be replaced.

Great Location
Four adults stayed, with one dog. We really enjoyed the location, great back yard. Our only complaint was there needs to be something that closes off the bathroom and bedroom upstairs

We’ve been coming to Crested Butte for 12 years and had been wanting to stay in town so we could be close to restaurants and nearby trails. I found this property in December and knew our options would be limited because we planned to bring our dog with us. This house is a renovated mining cabin and is very quaint. It was fairly well appointed and the backyard is super cute. Pros:- Proximity to downtown is amazing.- Fenced-in yard was great.- Kitchen is wonderful and had everything you could need.- There is plenty of storage.- Parking was never an issue.Cons- The flooring on the second floor is so loud and sounds like Velcro when someone is walking on it. Will easily wake up anyone in the bedroom on the first floor. It was pretty annoying to be honest. - No propane available for the grill which dashed our hopes of grilling out for a few meals.- The second floor bathroom has zero privacy. We barely used it. It’s open to the loft and isn’t enclosed.- While there is a good amount of privacy be prepared to feel very closed in by the two neighboring houses. We are glad to have experienced an in-town stay and enjoyed reading about the history of this particular house. We were married in Crested Butte ten years ago so this trip was a special one for us.

Great location near Elk Ave and trails
Great location just a few blocks from Elk Ave and in walking distance to restaurants, shops, and some trails. Nice fenced in yard and pet friendly. Comfortable space in historic district. The upstairs bedroom had an open bathroom floorplan with no door separating the bedroom and bathroom. The downstairs shower ran cold at times. Other than that, great location and comfortable place to stay for four adults.

Wonderful Return to the Butte
Spent a long weekend at this property in Crested Butte and it was wonderful! Property is beautiful. Loved reading about history of the property and it's remodel. The owners have taken great care of the property and the yard. The fenced in yard was a HUGE plus especially with pups. It was super refreshing to stay at a property that anticipates pups and their needs (poop bags, dog blankets, etc). We had a great time and would love to come back. Only word of advice, if you have real small kiddos (crawling, just starting to walk type), bring a baby gate to prevent them from going up to the loft unsupervised. The loft albeit super nice is high :)

Fantastic Spring Break
My husband, 5 year old daughter and I had a great spring break at Karla's Cottage (oh and border collie!). It was the perfect size for our little family. Near everything on foot. Fabulous little play space with toys and games for the kiddo. Nice backyard space for the dog. We visit CB all the time, and this space was just perfect what what we needed for the week. We'd definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Better than advertised!
We loved our stay in this historic, but renovated, home. As my wife commented, every design was thought about and done with care. The use of historic wood and bricks from the original building gave it a rustic feel, but the modern appliances and jetted tub added a luxurious element. The bed in the master bedroom was comfortable which is important when you are in your sixties. The outdoor deck and fenced yard meant our dog could do her business without a neighborhood walk, although I took her to the off leash area near the school. We also took advantage of the warm days to sun ourselves on the back deck. Loved and will return!!
