Lovely house that held our large group of tweens, kids, and adults. Well stocked kitchen, nice bathrooms, exceptional backyard with elevated patio for views and breeze!
Private street is quiet and safe for kids. Coffeeshops, restaurants, and tourist entertainment was farther than expected (20+ minutes) but Magee Marsh park had excellent beaches (5 min drive). We enjoyed our time, and laughed about the cooling tower in the background of our photos! (For those unaware, Davis-Besse nuclear power station is 5 min away)

Ted is a great host, property was very clean and ready for us. Plenty of pots, pans and cooking utensils. Gorgeous view!!

The stay was wonderful. The house and property were exactly as listed. Great views!
Our kids enjoyed the small private beach and the deck for tanning. The adults enjoyed fishing in the evenings.
Very spacious for the 13 of us. 10 adults, 2 teenagers and 1 child.
Manager Ted is very helpful and accommodating.

Everything was perfect for our stay. Plenty of room for our group. The location was perfect for where we needed to be and that patio was amazing for relaxing!

We had a great time at this property. Plenty of space and a well-stocked kitchen!

This lovely home is perfectly sited for visiting Magee marsh. Only problems we had is the insanely complicated coffee maker and the weird TV system — hundreds of channels but no national news or volume control in West bedroom. Need a Ph.D. to operate.

Shell Seeker was a perfect cozy place for our family gathering to experience the Total Solar Eclipse. The layout, amenities, views, yard space, and neihborhood were great and very appropriate for families like ours with young kids! Communication with the property manager was top notch. If we ever plan a trip over that way again, we plan to seek out this property or at least this property manager again.

The host was amazing. Addressed every need immediately.

We had a small family trip over Labor Day weekend and this house was perfect. It was super clean and had a beautiful view of the lake. Within easy driving distance of events and attractions but not too close. Nice and relaxing. Definitely would stay in this house again.

Thanks to Mr. Ted for making his home our home. My family spent 4 days there and we really didn’t want to leave. Fishing, swimming, watching the boats and etc on Lake Erie was awesome
The home was very well stocked with everything you would need.. my only not so good thing was the toilets which were to low and my husband and myself with bad knees it was difficult to set done and stand up with nothing to grab ahold of but other than that it is absolutely charming warm and just plain awesome. Will definitely be going back

This was a great layout and location for our family vacation with the grandparents. We needed a place with multiple bedrooms and mostly single-floor access with walk-in shower for those with mobility challenges. There are entry steps plus one step to/from the breezeway. Host has installed a good handrail to assist in getting up the front stairs. Or, you can go around to the back entrance and use the single stair in the breezeway. Might not work for wheelchairs, but for folks using a walker it was doable. Additional stairs to/from the water-view platform a no-go for walkers, but the patio area atmosphere still great.
Host was extremely responsive when we ran into a couple hiccups on our stay, and pleasant to work with. Enjoyed a great family vacation. During our stay visited The Henry Ford museum and innovation center in MI, the Maritime Museum in Port Clinton, the art museum in Toledo, Cedar Point in Sandusky, and Imagination Station in Toledo. Lots of other options available if we had more time.

Nice house on the lake. Worked well for our group

Our families and parents had a great time. We needed to swap our annual ocean vacation with something closer to home this year. We picked a lake vacation at the shell seeker. The house was roomy and had everything we needed. The lake view was beautiful. Kids swam in lake and we took a few quick trips to port Clinton to rent jet skis and Sandusky for a day at cedar point. Also a trip through the wild animal park was fun. Golfing at Oak Harbor was very nice. Bring fishing gear as you can fish off the back of house or at marina. Kids caught some bass. Finished off our week with s’mores at the fire pit. Just give yourself time when planning to get to the store or restaurants. For the most part you are about 15min-30min away from main grocery store and attractions.

We stayed here last year. My review is out there. Highly recommended place to stay. Excellent host. Pictures do not describe how big this house is. Back patio is big enough for a 100 people lol.
4.8
Just as pretty as described/listed! Our family had an amazing time together with so much to do within proximity of the lake house. We caught several different kinds of fish out back. Had family game night. Went boating. Unfortunately, jet skiing and kayaking were closed in Port Clinton the day we tried to do it, but we will do that next time because we will be back to Ted’s property. Ted checked in with my husband and son to make sure everything was going ok with our stay. Ted also had everything we needed in the house for our stay! Thank you for a great time! Sunsets were amazing.

This house was very comfortable. Located right on the lake with Wonderful view of the lake through many large windows in the dining room / living room. Master bedroom also has good view of the lake. Both bathrooms were very spacious, with nice tile work. The back patio sits right on the lake with a good barbecue grill and spacious area. Kitchen is well supplied. Nice neighborhood with no through traffic. Great area to take a walk at any time of day.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house was clean and comfortable and when we had a problem figuring out the heat for the house, Ted immediately took care of it. It's a very roomy and nicely decorated house. Views are amazing!

Shell Seeker
House is in nice community. Clean, comfortable for multiple family members. Beautiful lake view. Beach is very poor, cannot walk on beach without shoes, but seems to be the same for most houses in the area. Only saw the owner for maybe 5 minutes two days after we got there and then never again. He did offer his outdoor shower which was nice with the kids. We had an extremely nice time and would definitely come again.

Great vacation.
Beautiful home. Plenty of room. Pictures do not justify how clean and big the house is. It was stocked with everything ( kitchen supplies, towels etc). Ted was a great host. Checked on us a couple times to make sure our stay was going ok. Wonderful view. First family vacation in 40 plus years and we will go back.

Lovely Home on the Lake
The property was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. We were a group of birders, interested in exploring Magee Marsh and other superb local birding sites. The location was ideal, just a short drive to Magee. And we enjoyed having swans in our "backyard."

Ideal for Fishermen!
Perfect place for a group of 8-10 fishermen! Lots of common spaces inside and out! The house was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our short stay. Close proximity to everything you need (gas, bait, ice, supplies, marina, etc.) to get out on the lake and catch walleye. Definitely would go back and stay at this home again. Ted was very responsive and great to work with.

Beautiful location. 180 degree view of the lake. Quiet. Great patio, able to fish off the rocks, fire pit and fire table. Inside has everything you need for a comfortable stay. "Bunk room with bath on other side of the house separated by foyer, so different groups or family's can have some privacy. Large master bedroom faces the rising sun and only has sheer curtains. (For early risers) Also the curtains on the french doors to this room offer little privacy. I read so much about Ted in the other reviews, so was disappointed that I only got to meet him very briefly. Equi-distant to Cedar Point, Seneca Caverns, the islands, and Toledo Zoo. Try the overload sandwich at Porky's Trof! Overall a great vacation!!

Place was great. They had a really bad storm a couple weeks before we went. A little remodel was going on, with replacement rocks and gravel to replace. We caught over 50 fish off the bank in front of the house and a few walleyes in our small boat trolling. Ted (Owner), lives next door and offered his decks on the lake to us. Made the trip a lot more fun for older parents and young grand kids. Would highly recommend this property. Fyi…Cedar Point is less than 40 minutes away. Long lines but fun. “Fun for all”!

Great location. With the change in the water level, the dock was gone and large rocks were added to protect the seawall and property. This cut down on the lake view.. This happened right before our stay, so obviously wasn't mentioned in the listing when I booked.

Family Fun
Beautiful setting right on the lake. Gorgeous sunsets can be viewed right from the patio. Ample space inside and outside for our family of 9. We enjoyed the beach access and large yard area. Even had a few visits from the friendly river otter who we assume lived in the rocks nearby.
