About this cabin rental
Only five minutes from downtown Gatlinburg but far enough off the beaten path to provide plenty of peace and privacy, Cozy Bear Lodge has everything you’ve always wanted in a vacation cabin—and more. And because the three-bedroom, three-floor lodge can sleep up to twelve people, you can invite friends and family to enjoy it with you.
As you drive up the ridge to Cozy Bear Lodge, you’ll be delighted by the lush woodlands. And once you step out onto the rear decks and look out toward the Great Smoky Mountains, you’ll be even more dazzled. That’s why you’ll find plenty of seating, including rockers and a swing, from which you can take in a natural beauty surrounding you. You can even soak up the views while soaking in the seven-person hot tub. It’s especially magical at night under a canopy of twinkling stars.
You can relish the vistas indoors too, thanks to the picture windows of the great room—and this is one great room truly worthy of the name. Not only is it large and airy, but it’s beautifully appointed too. Stretch out on one of the sofas to watch a movie or the big game on the 60-inch flat-screen HDTV with cable, Netflix and Blu-ray player. Nestle in an armchair by the fireplace with your tablet to take advantage of the free Wi-Fi or sprawl out on the rug to play board games with the kids, you’ll find a number of games to choose from in the cabin. This is a quality room for spending quality time with your nearest and dearest.
The dining table easily seats 10 people. After you clear the dinner dishes, you might want to bring out a jigsaw puzzle ordeal everyone in for a game of rummy. Or you can head downstairs to the game room to shoot some pool on the full-size billiard table. If pool’s not your game, why not keep the others company while watching a favorite show on the 42-inch flat-screen TV?
If you thought the common rooms were comfortable, wait until you see the three en-suite bedrooms. There’s one on each floor, and each has its own full bathroom. Each also has a king-size bed with a sumptuous pillow-top mattress—sweet dreams are practically guaranteed! You’ll also find a flat-screen TV with DVD player, plenty of storage, a ceiling fan and doors that open onto a deck or a balcony. You can slip out early in the morning to catch the sunrise over the mountains or late at night for a romantic spot of stargazing without waking the others.
The two sofas in the great room and the sofa in the game room open into beds as well—and given how luxurious those rooms are, we don’t think anyone will mind camping out in them!
Cozy Bear Lodge’s kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, pots and pans, tableware and all the other accouterments you need to prepare three square meals a day or simply reheat leftovers. There’s a charcoal grill outside as well, which will please any barbecue-lovers in your group. Other amenities include a washer and dryer, a CD player/stereo, movie channels including HBO and Showtime and unlimited long-distance calling.
And let’s not forget Cozy Bear Lodge’s prime location. It’s just a little over a mile from downtown Gatlinburg! Once you’re downtown, you’ll have your choice of restaurants, breweries and attractions ranging from an aquarium to the Guinness World Records Museum. The lodge is also less than 10 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a true must-visit. Even Dollywood is less than a half-hour’s drive.
It’s easy to see why Cozy Bear Lodge is such a favorite with visitors. Don’t miss your chance to be one of them—book your stay today and get ready for what might be your best vacation yet.
Please note that Cozy Bear Lodge is no longer able to accommodate pets.

Guests loved the property for its cleanliness, space, amenities, and proximity to attractions. They enjoyed sightings of bears and the relaxing hot tub. Highly recommended for family getaways!

The house is beautiful and cozy. Everything we wanted and more. The bears visited a couple of times a day ..everyday. Keep your vehicle doors locked at all times. The views off the decks were beautiful. Would definitely recommend to others. 10/10.

We enjoyed our visit. We also enjoyed seeing bears daily. We found the chalet to be nice and as advertised. It was nice having 3 masters with attached baths. Also nice having each bedroom on a different floor.

The property was very nice. It was perfect for our stay. It was convenient to all attractions. The cabin was very neat and clean. We had a wonderful time.

The cabin was very clean and had lots of room for my family! We especially enjoyed the porches on every level.

The cabin is very lovely, and accommodated our family great. The pictures that are on the site are very accurate. We loved that everyone had their own suit, but that we could gather together at night to watch a movie, or play a game with plenty of room. The kitchen was well stocked, but they should have more towels and a couple pot holders. The only issue that I had was the bed on the main floor (which was where my husband and I slept), was not comfortable at all, other than that I would highly recommend this place.

I could not have asked for a nicer experience from booking the trip to the actual stay to leaving everyone my kids and grandkids have a great time.

Everything was wonderful! Highly recommend Cozy Bear Lodge!! Great location in Gatlinburg!

We stayed here for 4 nights for a wedding in town and this place is perfect! Hot tub on main level, game room down below massive dining table. Very clean well located, and we even got to see a few black bears moseying down the road! Would absolutely stay here again!

We had a great time. The cabin was very clean. The beds are tall, so if you have elderly in your group consider them sleeping on one of the pullout beds.

All around a great stay, saw lots of bears, cabin is as advertised, and would stay again.

Saw a lot of bears. House has bed bugs and upper floor roof leaks. Not first time you can tell

We were extremely happy with the cabin. Everything was just as it was pictured in the ads. Loved the view, hot tub and space to spread out with our 2 grown children, their spouses and our grandchildren. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. We also were visited on more than one occasion by Mama bear and her 3 cubs.

Started with poor communication to check in. Was sent link that didn't work. Luckily I called an hour before and left message. Finally got a live person 15 min before arriving at the cabin with code. Took 6 calls.
3rd floor shower leaked to 2nd fl BR which leaked to basement RR. Called maintenance, showed up next day. Heard contractor mumbling on cell " im saying it's from shower curtain leaking water". Lie much? We had a bowl catching water!
RR drains were filthy. Ants in tub on 2nd floor cobwebs in living room and basement RR had clearly not been dusted in a while. Also, toilet seat in basement was way too small for the toilet. Would not recommend this company to anyone. FYI...i took pics.

This property had all the items that were listed in the description. Nice views and big rooms. Plus the pool table and hot tub were nice to enjoy. Close proximity to everything as well. Will definitely book again.

Great cabin with a lot of space for everyone! The roads getting up to the cabin are a little scary but worth the drive. Make sure you lock your car doors! A bear actually opened our car door and took a look around inside! Also, make sure you bring extra toilet paper and some dish towels!

The cabin was perfect for what we needed and close to everything! Big enough for all 11 of us and all ages! We stayed for a week and it wasn’t long enough!

What a surprise to see three small cubs visiting the lodge with their momma bear. This was a highlight of our stay. Great place.

Great stay
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. While there were a few downsides that’s always to be expected and wouldn’t hinder us from choosing this residence again. The 3 levels made it perfect for our 3 families to have their own space. The house and view are beautiful and the location is awesome. As for the things that could have been better: the hot tub got very cloudy and smelly very frequently if we were out for the day and not keeping it up and running so it was hard to enjoy much, but we still did when we cleaned it out. Maintenance also came super quickly to help. There are no oven mitts and no fridge/freezer door shelves which limits space for food storage by a ton, but lots of pots and pans. Bring your own toilet paper. There were bugs as other reviews state but it’s a cabin in the woods, it’s to be expected. Overall we absolutely loved our vacation and we’re comfortable in this home.

Best family reunion
The cabin was the best! We had 3 families and each family had their own floor, with comfortable beds, tv, bathroom and patio to give private family time when they needed it. The kitchen was well stocked with new appliances and lots of cookware, and both mr coffee and Kerrigan coffee makers. The two gas fireplaces were awesome. We enjoyed the hot tub and pool table! We had to call maintenance once; they showed up very quickly, were friendly, and fixed the fireplace quickly!

Good location but needs improvement
The location was closer to town than I realized - pros and cons to that. The road to the cabin is VERY steep and windy. It would be challenging in bad weather. Be careful if you meet another car. As well, we almost hit a bear one night after dark.
The management company was very friendly, communicative and responsive. However, some of their information sent was outdated and incorrect (such as codes, wi-fi passwords, etc.) It was sorted out but was a slight inconvenience.
Some of the furniture has been changed out since the photos were taken and some pieces were worn and uncomfortable. The cleanliness of the cabin was less than stellar. It needs a good deep cleaning. There were spider webs and dead baby roaches throughout. The stairwells looked like they hadn't been cleaned in over a year, and the lower deck was unusable due to mold. We cleaned the upper two decks ourselves. As well, two of the shower curtains were very moldy. The management company immediately sent a couple of people to clean the inside. They showed up without masks and with lots of attitude, did the minimum and promptly left.
We did see quite a few bears, which was a lot of fun. But our "peaceful" vacation was ruined because of the proximity to the neighboring cabins and the construction noise from one. It made sitting outside unbearable.
Overall, the design of the cabin and the amount of space was nice, but I won't be back. The cost of the cabin versus the problems we encountered did not leave us longing to return.

Directions were accurate. Would stay again.

Loved property and seeing all the bears.
Enjoyed all very much except found main level toilet & bathroom sink clogged and a terrible mildewed shower curtain liner.
Housekeeping could do a better job and should not have left either in this condition.

Okay
Area wasn't quite as secluded as we would have liked but not too bad. Roads are only one lane so if you meet another vehicle, one of you has to back up. There were roaches in the kitchen and main level bathroom. 2 of the 3 shower curtains were pretty moldy. If this cabin gets a deep cleaning and exterminated it will be very nice.

Cozy Bear Cabin
Wonderful, cozy, beautiful, exceeded all 6 of our expectations!! Saw bears on day one right outside the front window! My first ever bear sighting. Saw mama & 2 baby bears on 2nd day outside the window. Will definitely stay here again if I’m in the area. Hot tub was hot & working. All 3 bedrooms were great. Cons: Grill is bad & next to garbage cans. For 6 people, food storage was very tight. FYI: About 12 steps up to 2nd floor bedroom.

Needs Updating
Overall an ok stay, but simple standard items were not supplied - no oven mitts or hand towels, salt and pepper shakers, foil, shower curtain liners or hand soap in the bathroom, no more than one set of towels for anyone, or large skillet to accommodate 6 people. Several of the pots and pans were unusable, including Teflon coating scratched off. Then, the pre-damaged refrigerator needs repair or replacement...it leaks puddles of water on the floor, even after we called maintenance on arrival. Finally, and the biggest upset of the trip - the bathroom ceiling hole (!) sent the upstairs shower water down on the toilet! And yes, while I was on it. Gross. We had to make three separate calls to maintenance within the first 24 hours! At the third call, and being soaked from the hole in the ceiling, I lodged a formal complaint. Needless to say, it put a damper on our getaway. Perhaps the owners might spend some time there and improve a few things before renting to others.

Fun time for everyone!
Fantastic cabin to stay in. Close to downtown Gatlinburg. Had visiting bears everyday but absolutely no problems. Would highly recommend this accommodation for days of family bonding and just downhome fun for all!

Great cabin for a large group of people!
We had a fantastic 4 days that the cabin! The cabin is very very close to the strip, just behind the salt and pepper museum, up some fairly steep and twisty hills so be careful. The home is lovely, hot tub and beds are nice, 3 pull out sleepers and the AC works well. 5 stars as it’s a nice place, may not stay again as I would like to see some more day to day consumables left for folks to use instead of needing to purchase it at the grocery store. If you’re looking for a cabin that can fit a bunch of people, this is the one.

Property needs maintenance
The property has cockroaches. We called every day and we're told an exterminator would come out and never did. The hot tub quit working. They fixed it after a day. There were several other maintenance items that needed attention that they did take care of the same day. Was inconvenient that we had to keep calling on a daily basis. Also the property in the photos is not the same property. It's the same floor plan however the furniture kitchen appliances counter tops are not the same as pictured. The photos also make it look much bigger than it actually is

Overall, awesome experience
First off, the mattresses were excellent!! Even the pullout couches were super comfy (memory foam). Take them at their word - there are minimal supplies. Bring all necessities (including shampoo, salt, pepper, and coffee filters). There were plenty of towels and blankets for all 10 of us. The kiddos loved the arcade and pool table and the hot tub was nice and clean. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware and the living and dining room was open and inviting. We didn’t see any bears this trip :)

Loved It
Very nice home, plenty of room in each of the three bedrooms. Game room was nice, everybody enjoyed the pool table and arcade game. View was beautiful. Very close to Gatlinburg and not far from Pigeon Forge - perfect location. Drive up mountain was scary at first but got better as we got used to it. Got to see a total of five different bears - scary at first but then we just got used to looking outside before going out and hoping to see them again. We saw them at least three separate times - it was awesome.

Excellent mountain hideaway
We used this cabin to host a bachelorette weekend and we absolutely LOVED it! The management company was very easy to work with and so helpful. Overall I loved the location and everything about this cabin. I would also highly recommend Smokey Mountain Art Studio. The owner came and did a class at the cabin and it was wonderful.

Cozy bear cottage
Few maintenance issues they were willing to fix but we had pets with us. Pictures need to be updated to reflect current set up.. Smaller than we thought.. The road to the cabin is very narrow, straight up and scary. Close proximity to downtown Gatlinburg.

Getaway
Cabin was set up extremely well!!
Hot tub worked nicely and was used both nights. Nice to sit in with it being cold and rainy.
Pool table was fun to use as well.
Steep new asphalt road on the way up to the cabin. Could be an issue if weather is bad.
Construction across the street was a bit of of an eye sore but we just closed the curtain.
Would recommend this cabin😀
They even called us after one night to check in with us.
It snowed the morning we were leaving and was beautiful!
