I enjoyed it my stay. It felt like home away from home. The host and housekeeper were lovely

The area in which it is located is just superb👌🏿

Everything about this property is great, however, the only thing that was unpleasant upon arrival, was that our bedding was not changed/cleaned. Other than that, everything was great.👌🏿

Except for the lack of making coffee our stay was good

It will be advisable to have at least a one plate gas appliance to be able to make some coffee in all the Loadshedding times.

Huge accommodation with potential

Very big accommodation, bigger than comes across in the pictures. So definitely plenty of space. Liked the vintage furniture in some rooms. I just think that with a bit of love and effort this place could be really beautiful. A lot of potential.

Not too many amenities. Huge cupboards but almost empty. Oven wasn't working or maybe we didn't know how... But I'm pretty sure it's not functional. The fridge isn't cooling properly anymore. Other than that it was good but as said above there is room for improvement.

Very nice

All is fine, no isseus with the house, really fine.

No roof fans or any aircons in any room, and no bed lights in main bedroom, aircon in lounge did not work at all

The location of the property was suitable for the places i needed to visit.

There were no basin stoppers in the shower area.

Location is good, it's close to everything

The parking situation is not great. I had street parking and specifically needed parking behind locked gates. There is zero privacy, other guests walk right past your only window. Had to keep the curtains closed and sit in the dark. you can also hear other guests right next door. Very poorly equipped. There is exactly 1 teaspoon, nothing to wash dishes with, no wash cloth, no dishcloth, no sponge, nothing. The bedding was definitely not fresh and there were cobwebs everywhere. Inside drawers were dirty. Even the floor hadn't even been swept, was dusty.

Quality stay at a very affordable price!

This room was one of the best stays for a really affordable price. I wrote exams and had to find a place to stay over, and this place was in such a beautiful and quiet location, 5 minutes away from my exam venue. It had all of the basics! Was a truly pleasant stay!

Exceptional

It's was very peaceful and exactly what my husband and I needed for our couples getaway....everything was clean and tidy and we just enjoyed the quietness of the trip

Overall excellent value for money.

I didn't have a room number on the booking so was unsure where and how to collect the specific key. Had to knock at the main house for help.

I would have preferred safer parking. It would have been helpful to have the load shedding schedule and an emergency light/ candles. I wrote two emails/ messages to ask about dropping off our luggage but got no answer. Luckily we were allowed to leave it in our room as it was ready.

Instructions on self-check-in were clear, with no hustles, private and quiet. I would definitely go back there when ever am in Stellenbosch

Connecting the kettle. I had to boil water in the room. They should put an extension on the kitchen table.

Joey's Rooms Stay

We loved the space, it was tidy and had everything we needed. Really centrally located, so exploring was made easy. The owners and staff were all lovely, our favorite was of course Loki🤩 Looking forward to staying there again soon

Overall the stay was good. The room just did not look like the pictures in the ad.

The location was good. The area was safe and private.

The bed was a bit unstable. Limited kitchen facilities like iron, crockery and cutlery.

not up to expectations!!!!

comfy bed and friendly dog

no kitchen sink to wash dishes, no washing up liquid, no hand soap no housekeeping as said on line, no hairdryer when asked it was said don’t have one. 2x 3in1 coffee sachets, for my 4day stay, no milk no tea, and I don’t do sugar, never filled up my whole stay. A overall disappointing experience!

Host intrusion via an interleading door.

The room was amazing. Very modern and tastefully furnished.

The host apruptly entered our room through a interleading door - no knocking - no apology. Just entered. Looked at us and told us we can't stay another night. This was at 11am and check out was only at 12. We were still in our fullest rights to be there. I'm still in shock at the intrusion. And he seemed totally unphased by it. Not even an apology. Seemed like it was his fullest right to just enter because he owns the establishment. Absolutely dissappointed with this interaction.

It was amazing and I would do it again and again.

I loved the space of the room. It gave it a home essence and the bathroom was cute and just perfect for the room. The extras that they put in like towels, glasses, coffee, that was really thoughtful of them. Not yo mention the toiletries in the bathroom, cherry on top. I do wish it was by the Central but it makes so much sense for it being were it is located, its so peaceful and quiet.

Nothing at all like the pictures. No candles or solar light for load shedding.

I booked for surgery which did not take place and due to the room not looking like it did in the photos, as much as a couple of days in Stellenbosch would have been nice I requested a refund. Also booking.com never deduct funds and funds are always payable upon arrival.

Improve cleaning

The layout of the room was very nice and the water pressure was very good.

The place was not cleaned properly. Especially the fridge. Lots of stains and crumbles of food. Actually looked like the place had not been cleaned for a couple of weeks or some time. There was no mosquito repellant and there were so many mosquitoes and bugs. Also, there was champagne glasses only without mugs for tea or coffee.

Bad

I made 2 bookings in advance for 9-10 Jan 2023 and for 11 Jan 2023, but when I arrived on 9 July the booked room was allocated to another gueat and the hoat were rude and had a stong liquor smell. I contacted Booking.com and were refunded for the initiall 2 nights and still await the refund for 11 Jan 2023 as I did not utilise it due to my initial bad experience.
