Tastefully decorated, this home has all the charm of yesterday with all the amenities of today. Well-ventilated in summer and toasty warm in winter, this cottage has year round possibilities!

In winter and early spring there are views of the Penobscot Bay across the road from the upper floors, and a porch in front to sit with a glass of wine or lemonade and watch the world slowly pass by.
Set among the great historic cottages of Bayside Village in Northport Maine, this community was begun in the mid 1800s as a religious revival camp and has tons of charm and history. This cottage has private beach access so you can either stroll, take a swim, or kayak to your heart's content on the calm bay. The house is furnished with all new beds, plus new furniture that is mixed with a delightful group of antiques. The art of renown local artist James Wolfe lines the walls.
The Kitchen: The kitchen is an open plan and opens out to the family room, which faces the bay. There is a dining area with a gorgeous hand hewn wood table. High ceilings makes this cottage feel extra spacious.
The Bedrooms: Upstairs is a grand scale master bedroom with en suite bathroom. Sit in the claw foot soaking tub to end the day dreamily. Across the hall is another large scale bedroom with en suite bathroom. Both rooms face the sea and have lovely views.
Downstairs there is a bedroom wing with two large bedrooms that share one bathroom with shower. One bedroom has a queen bed and one a double bed.
Living Room - An open floor plan makes this feel quite roomy and comfortable. The living area opens to an office area, equipped with a printer and other office accessories.

Wonderful layout and super clean. Would highly recommend.

Lovely neighborhood. Fully stocked home. Very comfortable with a very good layout. We were traveling with an 88 year old aunt. She had a hard time getting into the house because of all the steps. Luckily we had 3 strong men to help out. We enjoyed the outside areas. They were wooded and very tranquil. The property was centrally located for all our day trips

What a wonderful house to spend some time visiting with family and friends! So clean and comfortable, well stocked kitchen supplies which we greatly appreciated when preparing meals. Would definitely stay again in the future!

The check-in and checkout process was very straightforward. The house itself is beautiful. Very comfortable with everything we needed. There was a lot of wonderful and interesting artwork but it did not feel cluttered for unwelcoming for our young children to be there.
A great beach and small park down the street that our kids enjoyed!

Great place for extended family. We were three little famlies. Each had its own bedroom with full bath. Perfect. Well maintained and host was on top of things. An unmentioned small playground on the water down the block was an added bonus.

We rented for two weeks in August, and had a lovely time. It's a short walk to the pier for swimming, and a convenient drive to anywhere on the Midcoast of Maine. The house boasts many watercolors and scultures made by the owners of the house. Communication was very easy with them, and they were quick to answer questions and provide solutions. Cleaning of the house could be improved and it's not a bargain, but Maine in August is relatively expensive. I'd stay here again if the chance arose.

Stayed one night and loved it. Would definitely stay again.

A few too many paintings and sculptures. Needs improved seating to accommodate all ages. While there were several ceiling fans, more box fans would have been helpful. Bedrooms were comfortable.

We had family in town for a celebration and this property was exactly what we needed - easy to walk to, beautiful / fun art work, spacious, and nicely decorated - a home away from home!

A lovely well appointed cottage that served as a perfect home base for a Fall golf trip to Maine
A spacious well appointed home in the beautiful village of Bayside. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to use as our home base for our trip to Maine.

Perfect getaway for family of 8.
Loved the house and the location. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed sitting in the porch and greeting passerby’s. We shopped in Camden we antiqued in Rockland and Bayside. Great food and great weather! Suzanne was a perfect hostess and communicated well.

beautiful and comfortable house in a great location
We're a three-generation extended family with an annual tradition of spending a week together in Bayside while we visit with good friends who live in Belfast. Of all the houses we've stayed in over the past 17 years, this was definitely the most gracious and comfortable. There was plenty of space for 8 of us to spread out, and the three bathrooms provided plenty of privacy. The front porch swing was a favorite with our two 5-year-olds, and the back deck is a peaceful spot for morning coffee. The bedding and mattresses were of good quality and quite comfortable.
We thought we knew everything about Bayside, but Suzanne had a great suggestion and introduced us to a frog pond that we'd never seen before, much to our kids' delight!
The house and property are filled with James Wolfe's colorful and energetic metal sculptures! Luckily our children are old enough to understand limits around touching or playing too near the artwork , but I could see this posing a challenge for parents of younger, more physically active, or more impulsive children. The presence of the sculptures also limits use of the yard for outdoor games.

Very clean, neat and nice quaint house and neighborhood.
The owners stopped by to check on us and see if we had everything we needed. Extremely nice folks. They provided great suggestions on what to do around the area and were spot on with their recommendations.

Exactly the home we needed. . .
We were looking for a large home in the Camden area to accommodate our children and their families for a wedding we were attending at French's Point and "Sea la vie" was a perfect choice! This is a beautiful, warm, well decorated home in a great area! Lots of great restaurants, beautiful coastline and people very friendly to folks "from away." Owners are artists, so in addition to this being a great home, lots of art around to inspire. Great spot, would enjoy this home again. David & Janet Russell

Lovely home, very clean, great location!
My sister and I took my parents and aunt & uncle to Maine to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday, and we got to stay in this lovely home for a few nights of our visit!
We enjoyed Darby's and Young's Lobster Pound upon the owner's recommendations. We made great day trips to see Camden, Rockport, Rockland, Owl's Head Lighthouse, and even Acadia and Bar Harbor!
This house was in a great location to explore from, and when we returned "home" tired from our adventures, we were glad to come home to a clean and comfortable house.
I would also like to note that the responses from the owners to any and all questions we had prior to and during our stay were always very prompt, if not immediate, and that made me feel very at ease about the whole visit!
And if you are traveling with older folk (such as we were), the stairs in front were a bit much, so we used the back door mostly since there are fewer stairs up to the back deck.
Thanks for a great Maine stay!

Perfect place for our group.
Had a little reunion with three couples from different parts of the country. The cottage (house) was everything we wanted. Plenty of bedrooms/bathrooms, a roomy kitchen and a great front porch with a bench swing. The Northport location was ideal, very close to the water in a unique, historic neighborhood. From the home, we could travel in several directions in short order. Thank you.

Delightful property!
What a well appointed, beautiful property! We stayed for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. The decor in the house is delightful, fresh, clean, artsy. Bayside is a lovely village, quiet, picturesque. The location is perfect - You are away from the hustle and bustle of Camden but can be there is 19 mins. Belfast in under 10 mins. And the owners were so nice, they provided recommendations you wouldn't know about unless you were a local. I will definitely return to Sea La Vie!

Great place - we had five adults and plenty of space and gathering options. Would love to return!
We couldn't have asked for more. Even the neighbors were friendly. The kitchen made eating in easy, and the Italian restaurant nearby in Ellsworth was fantastic! Would love to spend a week here and take day trips out if here.

Excellence ❤
The most charming home with fabulous artwork inside and out. Very large bedrooms and bathrooms with lovely sitting areas and views of the water. Our family felt right at home and every detail you could think of was provided for. My granddaughters already want to return next summer. A truly amazing home and beautiful home. Loved it ❤

Lovely and spacious Bayside home!
Our stay in Bayside was lovely! The property was well-appointed with everything we needed for our 8-night trip, including plenty of towels, cookware, and laundry soap. Beds were comfortable and linens were nice! Easy walk down to the beach across the street. The owners were around to say hello or give tips on the area if needed. Overall, lovely! Would stay again and recommend.

We love this place!!
We enjoyed our stay on memorial day weekend. We arrived late at night but they made check-in very easy for us and since we were their first renters they also offered some extra time for checkout . We spent three nights in this house.
The view from the front windows and the deck was beautiful - you could see the ocean in the distance. The living room was comfortable, as were the bedrooms. The kitchen was very workable. Owner also had new BBQ setup for us , we enjoyed grilling on back porch.
It was a very comfortable place to stay.It was spotlessly clean.
It is near enough that you can do or eat anything you desire yet far enough away that you have total privacy. The owners thought of every need and provided everything that one would need while on a vacation. They live right next door and ready to help whenever we needed.
It is located in a quiet neighborhood away from the tourist areas, but centrally located to all the attractions of the Rockland, Rockport, Camden, ME area.
I would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone. We plan to stay here again next year!
