About this house rental
*All bookings are subject to COVID-19 regulations by the state of Massachusetts.
*Until regulations change, all guests coming from out-of-state are asked to observe a 14-day self-quarantine while at Brooksong. Please contact for more information.
*Cleaning staff is working double to sanitize as thoroughly as possible. I also try to block off at least 2 days between each booking for safety reasons.
Located in the lovely Berkshire mountains, part of this bright, sprawling property was built in 1866 as a schoolhouse. It has since retained its historic charm while including all the updated comforts of home. Play pool, sip cocktails at the antique 1920s bar, sing songs around the outdoor fire pit, cook dinner in the huge kitchen or enjoy grilling on the porch in the sun. Skiers and hikers will love the area, and with over five acres of wooded land to explore, the property is perfect for a vacation with friends or family reunion.
Brooksong is an incredibly unique space, full of historical flourishes and quirks, and the house has been entirely renovated with comfort in mind. Lovingly maintained, Brooksong has the ideal combination of classic and modern decor. The house comfortably sleeps ten so you can enjoy a great weekend in the Berkshire countryside with the people you care about.
In addition to Brooksong's five acres of land, the Berkshires have many other beautiful woods and meadows to hike in. Wahconah Falls State Park is just up the road, and the dramatic waterfall is definitely worth checking out. Skiers should note that there are several places nearby to hit the slopes; the closest, Jiminy Peak, is about 25 minutes away. For some culture, the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art is a half hour's drive from the house. The town of Dalton has some quaint restaurants and shops, and the Berkshires are renowned for their array of adorable villages and hamlets to browse. The town of Pittsfield is about 10 minutes away, and has all the strip mall options you could ask for: Stop & Shop, Home Depot, Target, etc. In other words, you'll be secluded but not cut off from civilization! Holiday Farms is a great organic farm just up the road and there are many similar establishments nearby, so I highly recommend trying some local meat, dairy and produce.
*The following would not usually be included here, but we live in strange times. Brooksong has few neighbors and they are separated from the property by farmland and woods. Our water comes from a well. Self-sustaining farms are within walking distance. The nearest hospital is BMC, about 12 minutes away by car, and there are many places nearby still open to get supplies, as well as grocery delivery in the area. The WiFi is excellent and all the infrastructure necessities of the house, like propane, are constantly maintained. My house manager is on call 24/7 for any problems. Honestly, there are few better places to get away from crowded areas and ride out the current situation than Brooksong. We will do our best to make sure you feel safe and comfortable during this stressful time.

My extended family booked this adorable historic home for a long weekend away, it was perfect. Ample rooms to give everyone a place of their own and a large dining room, kitchen, family room, and living room to converge in. The grounds are beautiful and its centrally located to be able to explore all of Berkshire County. My favorite part was watching the sunrise over the horse pasture next door, gorgeous and relaxing!

Our stay at Brooksong was utterly amazing, enjoyable, comfortable and met all of our expectations! We had a large family reunion in Lenox to attend and had 9 people and a small dog staying at the house. The spacious rooms, nicely stocked kitchen, large yard, and game room made our family time memorable.
We definitely will be back!
Thank you,
The Beneat Family

Lovely landscape and yard with horses and donkeys next door, providing a bucolic vista. The house is a rustic cabin, beautifully furnished. Full kitchen allowed us to cook several large meals for our group. Close location to Wahconah Falls, a 20 minute walk or 2 minute drive. The backyard is phenomenal with plenty of room for lawn games and we spent many nights around the fire pit. We had an amazing weekend!

This house was just excellent, from check-in to check-out. Communication with Sulmone was great. The property is private with farms surrounding the property, a great all-around place for a large family or families to stay. The drawers and cabinets were well stocked with all the utensils, pots, and pans you will need for cooking and eating in. The beds and linens were very comfortable and made sleeping easy. We stay at many VRBOs and I have to say this one was one of the top places yet. The radiant floor heating warmed the house up to take the chill out, unlike forced hot air to dry the air out. The yard has a nice fire pit with no worries. Bottom line you need to make an effort to stay at this house to really enjoy it and experience a great relaxing property. Stores are close enough if you forget something or need to pick up groceries. 5 Stars out of 5 for sure!

Brooksong was perfect for our girls weekend celebration. Plenty of room, comfortable beds and sofas, open rooms for easy socializing, nice kitchen with modern appliances, and most enjoyable, the radiant heated floors. The temperature in the house was always perfect and not dry but naturally comfortable. The organic farm down the road was great for eggs $1.50/doz, organic meat & veggies. The property host, Sulome, was responsive & helpful. She gave wonderful recommendation for a car/ldriver service to

We couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves more. Between the pastoral surroundings, the horses next door and across the street and the beauty of the house - it was just splendid!!

We had such a lovely stay over Memorial Day weekend! The house is beautifully furnished and was even more spacious than we expected from the photos. There were two large living spaces to enjoy and we loved the pool and fusbol tables. Everything was perfect - from the morning breakfasts in the well appointed kitchen, to spending time watching the horses and donkeys on the property next door, to getting some good sleep in the many bedrooms available for our party of 9. Lots of history and thoughtful touches is this wonderful home. We can't wait to come back!

This is our 2nd stay at Brooksong and we did not regret it. It ended up being a rainy weekend, but with the pool table and spacious kitchen, we still had a great time.

So easy to reach property owner and property managers came right away when needed. Beds were really comfy, bedding was clean and so soft. Lots of extra sheets and blankets and pillows. Everything you need in the kitchen. Great dining room for eating together and card games. Game room was a huge hit for the kids and adults too. Dog had fun in the huge yard. Lots of walks and seeing the horses, buying eggs from the farm up the road. Hiking at the falls two minutes away. Sweet Peas ice cream about a 3 min drive was awesome! Lovely home and large and fun. We’d definitely stay again. One thing to know is that the one bed downstairs does not have a real door, just a curtain to pull over. No drapes or blinds on the window. So we didn’t end up having my mom stay in there. One of the older kids slept there. Not great water pressure in the awesome bathroom upstairs, but we made it work. It needs a exterminator to get into the eaves and get rid of some wasp/hornets due to summer and that’s what you get when you have an older wood home in the country. Needs some sweeping of cobwebs and such in the spaces in the wood, that’s why I didn’t give it a 5 for cleanliness, and really it wasn’t a big deal. The management company came right over and dealt with a nest or two for us. Fire pit was awesome. There isn’t a gas grill that works, but a coal grill if we wanted it. All in all, great place to rent and have fun with the family.

We loved our stay at this peaceful and charming home next to a beautiful horse farm. The owner was responsive, answering any questions I had right away, and the house had everything we needed. I only wish that we had more time to spend taking advantage of the reading nooks and amazing backyard. This place is a gem!

I stayed here with a bunch of old friends for our annual fishing weekend... We loved it and will definitely be coming back.
The house looks as good as the pics. Lots of space. Comfy beds and a great second floor shower. 10 min from town and everything one needs. Great place!

We had a lovely stay. Plenty of room for the four of us, charming and clean property. Good location with easy access to surrounding area. The table games were a big hit, as well as donkeys and pig next door. Will definitely get back here.

We had a magnificent time staying at Brooksong. Anything we write here will likely not give enough credit to our experience, but we'll try! First, the owner Sulome, and property manager, Joe, are wonderful to work with. Then comes the property and house itself. The home has so much character, with historic touches from the old school house it once was, with additions of modern day touches that felt luxurious...towel warmer, floor heating, etc. It's a well loved home (as you can see from all the reviews) so there are some quirks, but that only made us like the home more. The location is beautiful and quiet with views of a neighboring farm with some horses and donkeys. Yet, it is close to Pittsfield (which has everything you would ever need) and a quick 30 min drive to Williamstown, Lenox, or Stockbridge. We hope to come back again soon!

We had a wonderful stay at the house. It was very clean and there were plenty of extra linens. The house is great for families and I would also love to come with a group of adults, as there are plenty of games and activities. My kids loved running around in the huge backyard and playing on the playhouse. There are a number of cozy sitting areas. The house is quirky and we enjoyed discovering new surprises each day. The only constructive feedback is that the kitchen could be better equipped with some basics- there weren’t many regular drinking glasses or wine glasses, for example. But we would highly recommend a stay here.

Beautiful property, Excellent stay! Couldn’t have asked for a better rental! House itself was gorgeous. The Listing photos don’t do it justice. Our party of ten had plenty of room to spread out. Beds and bedding were clean and cozy. Laundry facilities were brand new and top of the line. Kitchen was large, modern and came with everything we needed to cook a couple large bkfsts. Plenty of golf courses nearby. We were able to play Cranwell and Wahcona. Highly recommend this property! Brooksong will not disappoint!

Perfect place for a family gathering. The home is stylish, had character and was comfortable with lots of spaces for people to spread out. I loved taking my coffee out to the deck in the morning to take in the view and fresh air.

I stayed in Brooksong with four other family members for a Tangelwood weekend. What a beautiful home.. it was warm and comfortable- plenty of space for everyone to congregate together and yet ample to steal away for moments of privacy. We all love to cook and we had a great time cooking in the well equipped kitchen, sipping wine, playing pool and dancing a bit in the family room. The deck is great with ample seating and provides beautiful views of the surrounding country. The bedrooms were spacious and the bathrooms were great. I loved the European influences! We all look forward to staying here again next year- with or without a Tanglewood event!

Our family gathered for my father's 92 birthday and we were amazed when we walked in the door. It is a beautiful home right next to a farm - when you look out the window you see green fields and horses. The house was so easy to live in - well equipped with kitchen needs, large dining room table, cozy corners, nice bedrooms, great tub and shower, and we even used the pool table on a rainy day.
Plus, it is only 15 mins from Pittsfield. We had a great celebration and stay.

Brooksong is a great place for a family gathering. There were 8 of us, two of which were kids. But there was plenty of space for more. The great room was fun to hang out, play pool and foosball. One night we had a campfire out back, told ghost stories and made s'mores. The kids had fun exploring the woods. They also loved hiding out in the secret lofts in their rooms. They spent hours reading the Asterix and Tintin comics on the bookshelf.
When we had a minor problem with a dribbling shower, Joe responded quickly to fix it. He was good natured and patient waiting outside in the rain while we searched for the key to let him in.
We also briefly met the friendly Lucy, who did an excellent job cleaning such a big house.
Wish we could have stayed longer. The country side and the horses in the fields next door were so beautiful.

Brooksong is an absolutely beautiful property just a few minutes outside of Pittsfield. With a full kitchen, plenty of space, and room to easily sleep ten it was perfect for our weekend get-a-away. The house itself has been converted from an old 1800's school house and is an interesting blend of the past and present. The property is quiet, wooded, and across the street from a local farm with some truly beautiful horses and other livestock. We loved our stay and could not recommend this property enough!
