This Gleneden Beach vacation rental offers all the comforts of home for up to eight guests, with a few extra amenities to make your stay especially memorable! Gather around the unique wood-burning fireplace in the center of the living room, take a leisurely soak in the master bedroom's whirlpool tub, or stroll to the quiet beach. This cottage has an artsy vibe with pale wood walls and pops of blue and yellow, yet it's still cozy and homey without being pretentious. You'll love the hardwood laminate floors of the living area, crowned by a wood-burning fireplace, and with high ceilings and expansive windows overlooking the scenery. Guests can relax on the two comfy sofas while they watch the latest DVDs on the large TV, and kids of all ages can play a board game at the built-in table just off the living room. An additional gas fireplace offers even more heat on a cold coastal night.
The open floor plan allows easy access from the living room to the dining area. Six guests can enjoy their repast at the wooden dining table, and an additional three seats are on hand at the kitchen counter. Wooden cupboards hide plenty of dishes and pots and pans with which to cook, and the fridge is large enough to hold a plethora of snacks for the kids. No time for dishes? No worries, as the home includes a convenient dishwasher. The turquoise theme is continued on the upper level, which boasts two expansive bedrooms and one and a half baths. A queen bed, complete with floral coverlet, occupies the master suite, which also features pale wood walls, a large terrace, and a half bath. But it's the in-room jetted tub that catches the eye and offers the wow factor! The second bedroom boasts two double beds and a bathroom with a shower. A pull-out sofa offers room for two more guests, bringing the total accommodations to eight. Dogs are welcome here, too, though a nightly fee per dog and minimum fee per stay will apply. A washer and dryer will get that sand and grime off in no time, and the backyard offers plenty of space to play or dine at the colorful picnic tables.

The quiet neighborhood, proximity to beach and bar, comfortable beds and great wifi.
6.0 / 10.0
I'm pretty go-with-the-flow so it wasn't a deal breaker for me, especially given that it was really affordable comparable to other places, but after first glance there were several jenky things about the house, holes in an ottoman's cover, lightbulb out, screen falling off a screen door, cobwebs and dried dog poo in the crate for doggy visitors. I probably wouldn't go back unless I was on a super tight budget and desperate to stay at the coast.

Just what the title says! This home was delightful for our three-night stay. Steps away from the beach made walking along the ocean in the mornings and evenings easy. The location was great for cooking in one night and exploring the town on others. Recommend this stay for your Oregon Coast visit!

Bathtub was great and the location is perfect.

We loved the cute area around the home. Very private, and lots of space for the price. The jacuzzi tub was awesome and so was the down stairs gas fire place. The walk to the beach was only 2 blocks and beautiful. Nice fire pit outside of cabin and safe quiet neighborhood. Would book again.

Loved the uniqueness and retro aspects of this property. In theory, this was a great place to stay and looked clean on the surface. However, the charm was a bit eroded by lack of reliable heating options, pet smells, and deep cleanliness. Easy check in, and a couple of restaurants were in walking distance.

If this is your vibe at all, I highly recommend. Was a little bummed that you can’t use the fireplace but the gas stove in the corner is great. Very dog friendly but beware the stairs, they are narrow and tiny. Easy walk to a cute little beach. Close to Depoe Bay, LC and Newport. We’ll be back for sure.

The downstairs was cool.. Very open, I wish the big fire place was in working order, but other than that the sand castle definitely had personality. The stairs to get up to the bedrooms are steep and narrow ( I had no problem with them but I can see how others would ) and id bring your own blankets. Id stay here again for sure

The hone is nice and relaxing. Fun times trying to get the gas furnace to light in the room. Everything there that anyone would need. The exhaust fan in the bottom restroom is a Beast. Nice and clean plenty of towels and stuff. Stairs are steep and carpet. Wife slip twice on them ( shaggy carpet) not cool.

The space is cool. Very retro.
Bring your own salt and indulge in the random spices left my other renters. This place is a gem and so so so pet friendly. Even equipped with a litter box!
Will DEFINITELY stay here again :)

This was an adorable little place! Lots of positives! The fireplace in the middle of the living room was such a cool feature. Was a little dark trying unlock the door at night, I couldn’t figure out the Wi-Fi and the stairs were narrow and steep but overall they added to the quirkiness. Was clean and access was easy with good communication.

The cabin was decent. Definitely like a cabin in the woods vibe. Sorta rustic. My complaint is the fire alarm was going off in the middle of the night multiple times. The WiFi went out and trying to find someone to help from Vacasa was absolutely ridiculous. All the info in their binder wasn’t correct and then they expected us to fix their problem instead of calling their local office and sending someone to help. Other than that the location was absolutely perfect and the beach near by was beautiful. The cabin’s kitchen was well stocked and so were the bathrooms. Definitely liked the stay not fond of the company running it.

This place is dirty, no screens on windows and lots of flies. Internet wasn’t any good in the place smell like fish. I thought it was coming from the freezer. Family said that it was dog pee. Lots of stains on the carpet. Very disappointed I would not recommend this to anybody.

The house was gorgeous and was set very well for us. It was clean and had everything we needed it was a fantastic get away for our vacation and we will be back. Highly recommend for others.

Overall had a great time, only one bad experience on the beach with a guy that wouldn't leash his dog and wanted to fight my 65 year old husband.

I enjoyed about half my stay in this cabin. I love the layout and the large fireplace in the middle, and the setup with the TV and couches was nice. The kitchen has all the appliances and implements you could want. The main issue was the furnace/gas fireplace which is the only way to heat the downstairs area unless you have a wood fire. Upon arrival, the cabin was super super cold. It had snowed the day before and the heat was completely off. We turned on the downstairs furnace and the upstairs wall heaters. I had to pull comforters off the beds to use as blankets to bundle up because there were no blankets to be found anywhere. It took all night for the cabin to heat up. In the mean time, the furnace was so loud you can’t even hear the TV over it. It is so anxiety producing. at one point I was actually in tears because it was so jarring, not only was there a loud rattling sound the whole time, but when it started to wind down there was a very loud high pitched whine. I have videos of this. The only relief you can get from the furnace is to go upstairs (where the wall heaters didn’t heat up the rooms until 24 hours after arrival) or have a wood fire which would sometimes heat the cabin enough to where the furnace kicked off. I honestly felt kind of Shell-shocked by the end of the trip. I just wanted to relax with my knitting and watch a movie. :(

Wonderful home, walkable to the beach, cozy for our family of five. Well stocked kitchen in terms of cookware, but bring your own coffee/tea/sugar.

Cute house. Moat importantly, the question on my mind was is there a coffee pot. Yes. Yes, there is. It was well cleaned. The manager was attentive and responsive if u had questions or concerns. Close to the beach. Awesome fire pit. Love the washer and dryer. Plenty of beds, bedding, pillows and towels. It was nice. Couches were nice. Plenty of seats. Fridge and freezer worked. Stove was nice. Appliances all worked. Nice dishes and silverware. So close to town and activities. Excellent location to do everything you need to on the Oregon coast. Cute little house. Smelled nice and well kept. That is always a concern but we were happy and glad it was so nice. Very clean and welcoming. BBQ worked, propane availabe, front and back yard seating. We took our family and everyone qaa happy and enjoyed the house. Honestly you could not ask for better location or a better place to rent. You will enjoy.

We loved The Sand Castle Vacation Home at Gleneden Beach! It was very clean and cozy, but there was room for 8 of us, 6 adults and 2 children. Everything we needed was supplied for us, and we felt very much at home and comfortable! We loved the unique shape of the home, and that it was pretty secluded in the trees. One of the best benes was, we could hear the Ocean from the house, and could walk down to the Beach without much trouble, as the Beach was only 2 blocks away, and it wasn't crowded at all!

We had a wonderful memorial weekend getaway. Grandma, Mom and 2 kids.
The place is very cute and quaint. First impression was awesome. I was sensitive to the leftover wood in the large wood fireplace, but adjusted well. Entire place was clean--don't understand other reviews in against-its a cute older place and was clean! We didn't bring a dog and didn't smell dog (and I have a sensitive nose) just smelled the fireplace. Stairs are very small and steep BUT the railing is incredibly secure. Grandma had no problems with a bad hip getting up. We would love to come back and stay again with other family. The beach access was perfect, short blocks path to a 1 block road walk to the access point. All in all this is such a stinking cute house and was a great FIRST A-frame experience for us.

Cute and cozy
This place was very cute, and perfect for our little family vacation! The only slightly downside to the house was the strong odor of dog inside (which makes sense as it is a dog friendly rental) Other than that small detail, we enjoyed our stay very much!

Perfect getaway
Loved the house. The fireplace was great. Gas fireplace kept us warm after the fire went out. Close to the beach. Found lots of treasures. Whirlpool bath tub waS amazing.
Only downside was:
1. The door code they sent didn't work...but I called and they promptly gave another that did.
2. Not a good washer or dryer..clothes were soaking wet..had to spin em 3 times..took the dryer 3 times also to dry ( it waS a small load).
Oh and 3. Wifi n cable went out when the storm came in.
We will book again...had so much fun. Very relaxing

Lazy Birthday at The Sand Castle
All in all a decent place for a lazy weekend at the beach. Having the beach outlet so close was wonderful so we didn’t have to drive. Would definitely stay again.

Beach trip 2021
This is a really cute cabin but it needs some serious overall updating and repairs. The heating system is not working properly (gas stove) didn’t seem to turn up or down. The kitchen windows were very covered with cobwebs and moss on the outside. When we first arrived there were empty beer cans on the counter and a dirty dishrag on the sink. This prompted me to send all the dishes through the dish washer to sanitize them, but there was no dish washer soap. During this covid pandemic cleanliness should be a top priority.

Gross,l
House was charming enough. I’m sure the house keeper did their best under the circumstances, but the place stank. Dog pee smells everywhere. Stains. Disgusting baseboard. My baby is crawling and it was difficult to allow him to. Next time, no dog friendly places for us. Stairs are extremely steep and narrow for feet. All bedrooms are upstairs, so that means taking suitcases up. Abs hard for seniors. Very cute home though, and nice walk to the beach. Just wish it could be updated with new carpet, paint, and power washing the cobwebs on the outside of the windows and siding.

The dryer was broken, the couch pullout was broken. Other then that it was very nice.

NEVER AGAIN DONT USE VACASA THEY ARE THE WORST MOST UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY.
We arrived at 3:50 as check in time was 4:00pm. Cleaning lady arrived at 4 to START CLEANING!! WE had to wait until 630pm before we could get into this dirty place. The cleaning lady said she could skip some stuff if we wanted. CERTAINLY NOT with COVID. WE CALLED and talked to 4 yes 4 supervisors who promised to call us back and never did...the property manager Jack never called us once. We had to sweep, mop and wipe down everything as it was left filthy. I have pictures if anyone wants them. Management didn't care. This almost ruined our vacation and everything we wanted to do. Again Management didn't care or want to hear about it. There was dishes left in the dishwasher, garbage left outside, nothing was vacuumed we did that ourselves. This company is the worst for caring about their renters. The dirty sheets with who knows what bodily fluids ON THEM WERE left on the KITCHEN TABLE. we traveled 8 hours and 534 miles and Management didn't care as we didn't receive any call backs.

Perfect retreat
This home is everything we hoped it would be. The fireplace is incredible and the tub is apparently so good that I now have a wife that believes our home needs one too. Close to the beach and very private.

Pro's - great location in sweet wooded neighborhood 2 blocks from wonderful beach, cool architecture, roomy, the kitchen well stocked with pans and utensils. Master bedroom mattress comfy and old jacuzzi worked great. Great Wi-Fi connection.Con's - Basic surfaces and linens clean, but needs a SERIOUS deep cleaning. Grimy rust on stair railing I had to clean off right away, thick dust on ceiling fan, dusty half broken mini blinds, water leak spots on ceiling, grimy sticky tea kettle and horrendous burner covers that smoked with oil when first turned on. Dirty carpet where it meets the baseboards, cobwebs and moss on windows, no screen doors on most windows and sliders. Serious issue with gas fireplace - very tricky thermostat, where we either couldn't get it to come on and were cold, or it came on by itself in the middle of the night and we came down to an overly toasty living area! This place has so much potential, but needs long overdue deep cleaning and maintenance. Other things: Very steep, awkward stairs. Wouldn't recommend for folks who are not as "spry" as they once were. No DVD player in living room, no cable tv (that we could figure out) Just a few streaming ROKU channels. The outdoor glass patio table top was "caved in" and unusable. Cool 60's fireplace, but too scary to use... no instructions on damper, grate with a huge hole in it. It takes up a lot of room, and would be awesome removed and put out on the patio as a cool outdoor fireplace. Steep awkward stairs, back room light too dim and need new mattresses back there. New pillows and bedding would be nice, too. Enough said... sorry, would have liked to given this place at least 5 stars... but the cleaning and maintenance was sorely lacking. I hope the owners will invest a bit and bring it back up to snuff, because it is such a unique property that obviously was once someone's beloved and awesome beach house.

Unplug here
This was the 2nd time we have stayed here. We live this cabin-like home so much!! We unplug here, ignore our phones and bring firewood, wine and books. We read snuggled up by the fire and when desired, we ventured to our favorite spots in Lincoln city and Newport.
The master tub is amazing and if this home ever went up for sale, we would snap it up!!
This home is in a quiet wooded neighborhood and feels much like a cabin in the woods....while still being an easy drive to beaches, Mos and shopping.
As frontline nurses, we were in desperate need for a break from the public and this home was perfection. Thank you for having us, we will be back very soon!!

We loved everything about the house. We all want to live there! If it comes up for sale I’d probably buy it.

Our stay
We had a great time but there needs to be a repair on the shower head as the water sprays straight up at the ceiling. It also needs sprayed for spiders. We used the BBQ and had steaks so it was great.

Perfect coast house for a family with dogs!
This is the second time we stayed at the Sand Castle in Geneden Beach! We enjoyed our first stay and new we would again. It's close to the beach and all the areas we enjoy while visiting the beautiful Oregon coast. We appreciated the amenities for our family dog as well! Thank you once again for a great vacation!
