About this house rental
This custom-built cedar cabin is four stories high and is located at the 4000 foot level of majestic Mt. Hood. The eastern exposure and large windows bathe the interior with bight, natural light. The tall vaulted ceiling adds to the spacious feeling. A spiral staircase leads to the tower. It's a favorite area for viewing the alpenglow on Mt. Hood, enjoying a glass of wine, planning the next day's activities, reading or taking a nap near the wood stove. You are in the tree tops, eye-to-eye with the ravens. It's everyone's favorite spot.
Spring, Summer and Fall you can hike and bike many trails and lakes in the area.
We hired Jerry Gomes as our builder, not only because of his excellent reputation, but also because he was in charge of the quality restoration projects at historic Timberline Lodge. His touch is evidenced by the custom Timberline front door with its handmade wrought iron hardware and rams head knocker. He hand-selected the blue pine used for the interior. Since the cabin was built it has been repeatedly updated and meticulously maintained.
On a warm day you can open the windows to allow the pine-scented alpine air to waft in. To take the chill away you can light a fire in the wood stove or simply turn up the thermostat for central forced air heat.
Summer or winter, outdoor activities, total relaxation, and lifelong memories are a certainty.

I stayed here with co-workers while we worked in the area, and ended up liking that place so much that I ended up bringing my family for some of the weekends. The host was great, responsive and friendly.

Loved the cabin! It was so cozy and clean. We felt right at home. It was perfect for our trip. Within walking distance into Government Camp, and very short drive to Timberline, Skibowl and various snowshoe trails in the area. The host was great to communicate with which made the check in and check out process very smooth.

This cabin is perfect for having a great time on Mt Hood. Everything is within walking distance to town and you can ski-in, ski-out from Timberline and Summit. Perfect place to people watch all day. The cabin was equipped with everything you could need and very comfortable.

Had a great time. Our flights were interrupted on both ends but the stay at Heidi’s made up for the flights. Clean and extremely well stocked. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Might try and come back in the summer for some hiking.

This house was perfect for our stay. We only had to drive to drop the kids off at Skibowl. Otherwise we walked to restaurants and we walked to the Glade Trail trailhead for sledding and snowshoeing. Great communication with the owner. My teen boys loved the tower and my husband and I loved sleeping in in the darked lower level. The kitchen was cozy and would’ve been a bit tight if we had more people staying with the 4 of us, but it was well stocked and we had any tool or appliance we needed. We would definitely stay again!

Memorable and Perfect
Our family had a very memorable stay in this beautifully appointed cabin. The sleeping arrangements, the amenities, the nice living room space and outdoor deck worked great for our group of eight. We had wonderful meals prepared in the kitchen and an incredible dinner at Timberline Lodge… It was very comfortable and loved the fact that we could walk up the road and hook on to Glade Trail for a great hike to Timberline … Such a beautiful setting, nice to smell the mountain air, moonlit skies and soft winds, blue jays in the trees.

Great base camp
Fantastic house with lots of room. Well appointed. Perfect location. Close to town, but quiet. The only thing we wish it had was storage for bikes.

Great experience overall
Had an issue with 1 one of the bathtubs not draining. Landlord tried arranging it getting it fixed but could not do so while we were in the home. There was a bit of a snow blockade making getting into the property difficulty. Apart from that, very nice accommodation.

My family and I stayed a week before Christmas. It was breath taking. The huge windows made a perfect view of the freshly fallen snow.

Wonderful location in Govy
The manager was extremely helpful and accommodating. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom is very private. The other bedrooms are all open access to the living room kitchen which does require everyone to be quiet when others are sleeping

Great Property!
Had a great stay here with a few friends for a 2 night stay over the weekend. I have grown up going to Government Camp and stayed at lots of cabins in the area and this was a very unique design - actually same builder that built my friends cabin. Very close to all the action in Government Camp, which was very convenient. Cabin worked great for us and the Ravens nest was an awesome area to hangout when it was raining with the windows open.

Mt Hood Wedding
This property is a tight, nice vacation ski house which we rented for the summer weekend to attend a family wedding at Mt. Hood. House is compact, but extremely comfortable. Slept 3 couples well. Good thing we all know each other as the bedrooms are more lofts than isolated from each other. Nevertheless, the place is unique and cute. Would stay there again!

Perfect location right in Govy
Overall, the house was comfy and had all amenities we needed. I wish I would’ve known that the master was in a dark dingy basement and that the upstairs “bedroom” was an open loft. Also, the 4th story lookout was neat, but a bed took up the entire space so we weren’t able to enjoy it.

We had a great stay at the cabin. It is in a great location, an easy walk to downtown Government Camp and very near hiking trails in the summer or the ski trail from Timberline in the winter. Our two cars fit easily in the parking provided. We hiked the Timberline and Crosstown trails just up the street and ventured a little further to hike the Ramona Falls Trail. The cabin was a perfect home base for both. The cabin was clean and had all of the amenities, dishes and supplies you would expect. The kitchen is pretty tiny, but workable. We were only there for a few days and mostly ate out, so it was great for us, but might be limiting for larger groups or longer stays. We arrived after dark and had a little trouble finding the key box. Heidi was immediately available by phone and helped us find it very quickly. She also checked in with me during our stay to make sure our trip was going well. There is a lot of great information in the cabin about both the history of the area and things to do while you’re there. We appreciate being able to reserve the cabin at the last minute for a quick weekend away from the July heat. Our kids were ski racers, so we’ve spent a good amount of time in Government Camp through the years. It’s been a while though, so it was fun to go back and visit it in the summer. Having a great place to stay while we were there made it even better.

Amazing Cabin
I took my 16-year-old daughters and two of their friends to the cabin for a quick weekend stay in the snow and BOY was there SNOW! We cooked in, played games, enjoyed the fire and played in the snow. Teenagers PLAYED in the snow (sledding alongside the house with a couple little disks we picked up at the ski shop, building igloos and rolling up snowmen), stayed OFF technology and we all enjoyed each other and the lovely cabin. The loft and "crows nest" sleeping areas were a hit for the kids and I stayed down in the main suite. The kitchen was great for meal prep, the living area is comfy for games and lounging and the dining table seats 6 for meals, sunshine streaming in every window. The little market is perfectly walkable, as is the quaint little neighborhood, and there are a few restaurants and pubs if you want to get out as well! What a perfect escape from the day to day - we absolutely loved it!!
