Family Vacation
This large house was very comfortable for our extended family of 8 adults. The front screened porch, surrounded by tropical vegetation, was our favorite place for reading, dining and birdwatching. The living room with three sofas worked well for games and TV. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed. The master bedroom mattress was very comfortable. There were plenty of beach chairs and an umbrella - and a wagon to transport these things to the beach. The gas grille worked nicely, and we enjoyed the spa/hot tub. Tips for improvement: provide good reading lights in living room and porch. Screen neighbor's AC unit from the swimming pool area.

Great Escape!
We booked this property last winter thinking that COVID would be done! Nevertheless, it provided a great space for 3 generations to get together and stay safe. Sleeping quarters were separate enough for all to have privacy and quiet. At 3 different eating areas allowed us to be together in different types of weather. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook and serve scrumptious meals. The kids enjoyed the pool and spa areas and the adults appreciated the short walk to the beach to view the beautiful sunsets. There are a number of interesting restaurants in the neighborhood.

Fantastic stay!!
The property is wonderful and in an excellent location! It might not be directly on the beach like I initially wanted in a property... but having the pool proved to be more important and beneficial with kids! Also absolutely wonderful screened in porch the kids can run around on!

Spring Break For Seniors And Parents
Captiva Star was lovely and ideal for our group of high school seniors and parents celebrating during Spring Break. Location, location, location! The perfect place for a group of mixed families or gathering for 11+ people in the tropical paradise that is Captiva in March.
The owners were extremely responsive to any questions that arose before and during the stay. It was a bonus treat that they had the lights on for us when we arrived past sunset on our first night :)
Everything they said would be on the property was present and in good condition. Mattresses are firm for those interested in back support. The property had so many amenities (like pool floaties, beach chairs, and umbrellas, shelling gear, beach sports gear, a variety of kitchen appliances, tableware and glassware for everyone, and two washer and dryer units so we could keep up with laundry) and was clean and reasonably modern in decor.
We can't wait to return to Captiva soon and would definitely choose this home again if it were available.

We loved Captiva Star!
This house was perfect for our family of 6 adults and twin 4 year olds. Plenty of space and very well equipped. We loved the use of the pool floats and beach toys. The wagon was a lifesaver as it was a little bit of a walk to the beach with all our stuff. There was a bit of a learning curve with the hot tub so I would suggest better instructions on that. We had an issue with the dryer but since there was a second one upstairs it wasn't an inconvenience. Overall we had a great week. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Captiva Star
Overall a great house for our families-2 separate families of 4 and 2 grandparents.
Plenty of room, a well stocked kitchen that made eating in easy, a fun pool. We loved the big dining table and the wonderful screened in porch that ran the length of the front of the house. There were some minor maintenance problems with the refrigerator but someone came out promptly. It was our second time staying there and we would go again.

Great spot
We had a wonderful time at Captiva Star! The floor plan worked well for our family (6 adults, 4 small (under 4) children). I will add that the master bedroom is right off the living room and those staying in that room must be able to sleep through noise. The kitchen was well equipped. And LOTS of table seating : a table for 8 inside and 3 large tables and chairs on the wonderful large porch. Our dog thoroughly enjoyed the porch along with our small grandchildren. Wightman Lane is a very quiet street which made the walk to the beach with little ones very easy. House pool/hot tub was also great. It was very clean and the property managers very responsive!

The Brandts
The house was great, it was clean, roomy, with a really nice pool area. We celebrated my husbands birthday with our kids & grandkids. Lots of room for everyone. The ocean was in walking distance and the kids just loved that aspect. No complaints. Time for new living room sofa’s, but all else was good.

Perfect
Large oversized rooms everywhere very private pool and hot tub. Storage room in the basement has everything you need to enjoy the beach including a nice spinning reel. 8 nice restaurants are a stroll away. The beach is nice and only 300 yards away Down a private lane. Very kid friendly. Had a nice nap on the huge screened in veranda during a pouring thunderstorm

It was great
It was great - and you could've left a couple of lightbulbs for us because we had some dead lights and some of the rooms when we got there - it would've been nice to had a little bit of coffee for the coffee pot or possibly some K-cups to get us started. We are used to five star and gold crown resorts however our kids and grandkids have not experienced this and it was a dream come true for them! The Decour in artwork throughout the VRBO was wonderful. We would've liked to have seen a channel lineup for the main TV in the main living room and couldn't find one and we were also missing a pull out bed in the downstairs main level master bedroom. Thanks a lot and we will consider this particular VRBO in the future
