We spent 7 nights at Sapphire Beach Resort. The resort is about 30 minutes from Secret beach and about 45 minutes from town on a golf cart. Renting a golf cart is a must if you want to get around. If you are looking for a quiet location to sleep, then this is the perfect location. It is mosquito season in Belize, so I would recommend bringing lots of bug spray. The condo was very clean and fully stocked to cook a full meal. The condo has an a/c unit in the bedroom and living room. The bedroom was cozy with a comfortable bed. The host Jason communicated with us throughout making sure all our needs were met. The service was amazing! Lisandro and Aidan at the front desk (hopefully I spelled the names correctly), provided excellent customer service. They had great suggestions on where to go and eat daily. They set up all of our air/taxi transportation to and from the resort which was greatly helpful. This cozy condo felt like a home away from home. I would recommend Casita on the shores at Sapphire Beach Resort.

This is a wonderful resort north of San Pedro and Ambergris Caye. It's well maintained, and the staff were truly amazing! Our room was a tad smaller than we realized but it worked great and coming during the normal off-season we pretty much had the place to ourselves, including the use of the (2) regular pools. You can easily rent a golf-cart from here to cruise to such spots as Secret Beach or the Truck Stop. It was a great location for a fun family vacation and thanks again for offering it up!

Perfect for 2 older scuba divers looking for some peace and quiet from the party town filled with 100s of golf carts. White sands dive shops picks customers up at the Sapphire dock at 8 am each morning for no additional cost
And provided a great diving experience. Resort has 3 separate pools, adults only and one for the kids. Edwin at the Tiki Bar was always smiles. Second floor unit has nice breezes in the evenings and was perfect for sunset dinners on the deck. Kitchen fully stocked with everything you would need to cook any kind of dinner. Queen bed was very firm but better than being too soft. All in all, it was a great for the week.

Place was nice and clean staff and people were super friendly it was a great spot for my wife and I to explore the island a little quieter area and you definitely need a golf cart all in all it was a great holiday thank you

My recent experience at Jason's Sapphire Beach Resort property was truly exceptional. Both the host and management were outstanding. Jason maintained communication with us throughout our stay, ensuring a seamless experience. Upon arrival, Rose and Monica warmly welcomed us with hospitality, assisting us with settling in and ensuring we had everything we needed, including arranging reservations for our excursions. It was undoubtedly one of the best and most memorable vacations. We will definitely come back again. Thank you.

The condo is perfect for 2 people, everything you need for making your own meals although the restaurants were awesome. We stayed a month which was enough time to explore the island and have plenty of time to fish and relax. Jason is a great host and keeps you informed prior to arrival. The staff at Sapphire are very friendly and very attentive. Only thing that could be improved is the wifi is slow due to the remoteness of the resort.
Overall great stay.

Great time on the beach. Rented Golf cart. Host and management was very responsive (especially over the holiday, much appreciated.)

Far north where it’s less developed. Beautifully kept grounds with considerate and kind staff. Golf cart is must as travel into San Pedro is half hour on bumpy adventurous roadway. Fishing off shore was productive even for an amateur angler. Easily meet people from all over at tiki hut BBQ events sometimes with live music. Will come back!

Sapphire Beach Resort is a lovely well-maintained property. A couple of items already mentioned to us are the sargassum and the mosquitos. They are plentiful, especially after a rainstorm! Do not forget your bug repellant! Unit 9C is clean and well stocked with everything you need for your stay. AC worked great and it was definitely needed during our stay. Lots of maintenance was going on when we were there, as it was the "slow time", or the rainy season. Loved sitting at the pools and on the end of the dock. We rented a golf cart for our stay and found Benitos store to be very handy, as it was close by. The staff was super and ready to please. Eric was our favorite waiter, Rose at the office, and housekeeping was great. Just DON'T forget your bug spray. They have it for purchase, but everything shipped in is more expensive. The location and neighborhood 4 star is due to the road and being a bit far from town, but if you want more peace, be far from town! The road has potholes you have to dodge, so keep your eyes open and you will do fine.

Enjoyed our stay at the property, all staff were amazing and knowledgeable. Knowing now how far from town it is I may choose to stay closer but that’s only because how I like to vacation. There was nothing I could say negatively about the property or listing.

If you just want to refresh and renew, it would be hard to beat this place. The staff are super friendly; GEM, the on-site restaurant serves up excellent meals; the ladies at the front desk can handle just about anything you might require; pools are serviced daily and are great to lay around. WI-FI and internet are pretty good unless the whole country is down; location is either a blessing or a challenge depending on what you’re looking for. Be sure to hang out at the Tiki Bar. Play some corn hole. Make new friends.

If you are looking for a safe, well kept resort with fantastic staff to escape to then you have found it here. The unit was clean and the windows sparkled! This was a pleasant surprise and greatly appreciated!. It is not uncommon for me to do extra cleaning upon arriving at a rental but it was not necessary here! It was fabulous to just unpack and be able to immediately enjoy our new surroundings. Best shower we have experienced in a rental. It is big and bright. The lower shelf is a brilliant idea. The bed was very comfortable. I really liked the solid wood furniture. Nothing flimsy here! The closet was well designed. We were the only ones, on the second level, with comfy chaise lounges and a dining table on the balcony. They were certainly well used! Thank you Jason for being so thoughtful! It was a treat to have housekeeping included. It made for a truly relaxing time away. Good selection of pots, pans, baking trays and kitchen utensils. We found the restaurant and bar here a bit pricey, especially for special events as well as not all items listed on the menu are always available. Nice to be able to have our own food and beverages. There are 3 small convenience stores close by (about 5 minutes) that have the basics, so you don't have to travel into town frequently. Since there isn't a shuttle service to town one does require a golf cart. The roads on the island are physically challenging. Staff at Sapphire Beach were fabulous, hard working and very accommodating. They would go out of their way to make a difference. The owners that live here were wonderful and very welcoming. Staff and owners worked diligently to keep the beach as clean as possible but Mother Nature kept them very busy as the Sargassum arrived early this year. The internet struggles at night. The beach was delightfully quiet. We felt very safe and secure here. We never worried about anything. Excellent communication with Jason. Anytime we had a concern it was immediately attended to. We greatly appreciated all of Jason's special efforts. Jason was a terrific host.

Host and management were great. We really felt that the enjoyment of our stay was important to them. Condo was clean and comfortable. The location overlooking the pool was nice. Security was helpful and friendly. The restaurant was tasty and the drinks were strong. The tour operator was not actually on site and apparently hasn't shown up in a couple of weeks but that didn't matter to us. Everything that is under the resort's control is well done. The negatives are a function of climate, location, and politics. The seaweed renders the beach unusable when the wind blows from the north for a few days. This was, unfortunately, the case when we got there. This is a direct result of climate change and our dying oceans and it's truly sad. The three well kept pools gave us swimming alternatives on site and after a day at Secret Beach and five Dives on the trip, I felt I had spent enough time in the sea as it was. The mosquitoes were intense at certain times of the day. Locals reported this is normal after a rain and the resort was spraying daily where they congregate and it seemed to help, but not eradicate them, by any means. Lastly the location is not ideal for visiting the happening parts of San Pedro. It is perfect if you want to be outside of the hustle and bustle but still have access to a restaurant on site. The restaurant was generally very good and fortunately was not any more overpriced than the rest of the restaurants on the island, but be prepared to pay United States Resort Town pricing. None of the restaurant menus would be out of place in Miami as far as their prices are concerned. We were frankly not prepared for this in Belize and spent triple on food what we had anticipated. It is a full 45 minute ride into town. The road is more pothole, currently than road. This was disclosed but after traveling to more than 20 countries I've never seen a road used by tourist this bad. We are extremely adventuresome and it was exciting the first couple of days but my back is still recovering from the hours of pounding it endured. Not a problem of the resort, this is a problem of Belizean politics and lack of funds. I actually recommend buying at this Resort because once the road is improved, values should double or triple almost immediately. All in all it was a good place to stay and we had a great time, but with our 8-year-old we would probably choose somewhere closer to town next time, but honestly we've seen Ambergris now.

We had a great stay here. But, beware, the road is quite bumpy to say the least. The restaurant was awesome and the property was awesome. First rate.

Yes, it is 40 minutes to San Pedro via golf cart. Yes, the road can be bumpy in spots. Yes, it is remote and quiet. YES! That was what we were seeking! The overall experience of staying at a remote, tropical island location created the vacation of a lifetime. If you want to be away from the busy city and are seeking quiet and peace then look no further. We loved every day! Jason is an attentive and proactive host. I highly recommend him and I highly recommend the island of Ambergris Caye!

Sapphire Beach Resort Ambergris Caye Belize
Beautiful Resort. A little bit more quaint than a "Resort". Which is a plus! Sand walkways - three pools - restaurant was excellent!(but very quiet - a little music please) Front desk, grounds folks, and everyone was very good and helpful - (Sheila, Kenya).

Sunshine + Water = Joy
Our stay in Jason's condo at Sapphire Beach Resort was hands-down one of our favorite beach vacations ever. We enjoyed the quiet, relaxing beauty of the resort, and the ease of snorkeling and diving adventures through No Worries Tours (located onsite). The condo kitchen was well stocked, the ac was icy cold, the hot water for showers was heavenly, and the beds and linens comfy. The wi-fi was a little spotty one day, but overall we were able to carry out a few work duties without too much hassle.
Not gonna lie - we didn't want to leave.

We had the most fantastically relaxing stay!! The place was exactly what we wanted. We were very comfortable in the condo we stayed in, had everything we needed... The room was equipped with espresso maker, ceiling fans inside and out! Kept us comfy and cool. Just a short nice walk to the beach and the pool bar and restaurant were right there and great. Our Host Jason was so very helpful and attentive, he truely wanted to be sure we were happy, which we definitely were. Thank you Jason and all the staff at Sapphire and the Gem!

Beauty & Relaxation
My husband & I just got back from a month-long winter escape at Jason’s beautiful place on Ambergris Caye. We had a wonderful time, and we highly recommend this place. The 2nd floor unit is perfect for 2 people. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and cared for. We especially enjoyed the pools, the food at Gem’s (on-site restaurant), watching the pelicans & fish from the pier, and reading on the comfy lounge chairs on the front porch of our unit. The staff was so helpful and nice. We definitely recommend the weekly barbecue dinners around the pool. The tiki bar is a friendly place to have great drinks and make new friends. No Worries dive shop (on site) took us on a fun excursion snorkeling with sharks and rays as well as to Caye Caulker. A golf cart is highly recommended to explore the fun and friendly island. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hope to do it again in the new few years.

The Sapphire Beach property was amazing. The condo that we stayed in was cute and cozy. There were 3 pools on the property a nice outdoor bar with a television, and the ocean next to which one could relax. The Location was far enough away from the hustle and bustle while only being a golf cart away from everything . True perfecg"ri

Excellent stay in Belize!
Everything was perfect at Jason's rental. It was clean and very comfortable. The resort staff was super friendly and helpful. Jason was very responsive and checked in with us to make sure everything was good.
We were only supposed to be here for four nights and then spend four nights on the mainland. Our rental there was not a good experience so we contacted Jason to see if this was still available. It wasn't but Jason called the resort himself to make sure we could rent a unit. He went above and beyond for us.

Overall, our stay at the Sapphire Beach Resort in Ambergris Caye, Belize was excellent. The owner (Jason) was very engaged with us prior to our trip – letting us know what to expect; providing recommendations on services; connecting us with the resort event coordinator (Ethan). Ethan reserved our golf cart (the most common mode of transportation) and arranged for someone to meet us and escort us to the resort. They waited as we stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few items. One opportunity that is not a reflection of the rental unit or the resort; are the potholes in the roads. The resort is 10 miles north of San Pedro; and the roads are rough. It takes about 40+ minutes to travel the 10 miles. Our cart malfunctioned on the way to the resort. We switched carts with our escorts, and we continued. We had one other issue with the replacement cart later in the week.At the resort, we were met by Ethan where we did our temperature scans and checked in. Our rental unit was excellent- clean and beautifully decorated. Nice and quaint – perfect for a couple’s trip. Plenty of cooking equipment; utensils and spices. We felt at home with everything we needed to prepare meals. While we were out for our couple’s massage on the beach, Ethan and housekeeping decorated our unit to help me surprise my wife for Valentine’s Day. We decided to do the special Valentine’s dinner. Tony and the restaurant team set-up tables and fancy linen around the pool. Dinner was very good and reasonable. The Tiki bar was a great place to relax and meet some of the owners and/or renters. The bartender (Emma) was always friendly and helpful. The beach area and dock are well maintained. Beautiful weather the entire time we were at the resort.Again, the overall experience was excellent. The only opportunities were the golf carts and the roads, which the owner has no control over. Thank you Jason for allowing us to enjoy your wonderful unit.Be Blessed!

Sapphire Beach
Clean and well maintained. Owner/host was very responsive and helpful. Had to leave 15 days early due to Belize Airport shutting down because of the Coronavirus restrictions. Owner was very accommodating under the circumstances. Sapphire Beach personnel are gracious, professional and willing to assist you with any request. A bit far from San Pedro, although the roads are a bit rough adding to what seems like a long drive in a golf cart. Condo was clean and well equipped, we look forward to our return future trip to Sapphire Beach Resort.

Amazing Adventure!
Just returned to the frigid cold of WI last night. Wishing we were still in paradise. Jason the owner of this condo did an excellent job of being in contact with us and making sure we had an enjoyable stay. The pictures of the condo are true to what you expect. A very nice 1 bedroom condo which is perfect for a couple or small family. The resort is very well maintained and the staff work endlessly at keeping it that way.
I would recommend renting a golf cart as your main way of transportation. They are a fun way of getting around and it feels like an adventure. The road is very bumpy as you get closer to the resort and also the road to Secret Beach. Secret Beach is beautiful and a great place to hang out for the day. The water is very calm and beautiful shades of turquoise blue.
We took Tropic Air as our way of getting to and from the Caye. This worked out very well. I would highly recommend it. I also would use Tropic Air again as they were on time and ran smoothly. The other airline I had heard from others that they did not run on schedule and had to wait much longer. Mr. Hill picked us up from the airport and drove us to Sapphire Beach Resort. We were greeted immediately with a rum punch and escorted to our condo. While there we did the Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley full day excursion. I would highly recommend this trip. The guys who took our group out were very knowledgeable and very accommodating.
The resort is a far way out from San Pedro but it is very peaceful and serene. I would definitely return to this resort and condo. My only regret is we did not stay longer.

Secluded beautiful lodging!
We loved our three days at this property! Everything was immaculate and the staff were phenomenal! We kayaked, paddle boarded, took the golf cart to Secret Beach, town, had multiple great meals at the resort restaurant, and more than anything.... just relaxed. Hope to return soon!

Not what we expected
While the check in process was good along with the cleaning crew at the resort, overall we were disappointed with the experience at this resort and the unit. We should have been notified by the owner, that we needed to fill out a checklist of everything in the unit because the hairdryer was missing and we got blamed for stealing it! The owner filed a claim against us for the missing hairdryer after we departed. The unit was stocked with very cheap kitchen ware so cooking was a challenge. We did have a few basic items delivered to the unit prior to our arrival which was $80.00 (coffee, milk, butter, honey, eggs). Now for the resort...it's 9 miles north on an unpaved rocky, dusty, bump filled road. Not a fun ride in a taxi/shuttle (which is $100 round trip) from San Pedro not to mention a golf cart. The restaurant on the property is good but limited and if you have to eat there because you don't want to ride a golf cart in the complete darkness into town, you don't have a lot of options. The mosquitos were relentless 24 X 7 so you must have bug spray and full length pants and top which is a drag in 85+ degree weather. We have been to many central American countries and didn't have any surprises like we did visiting this resort in Belize. We booked a one day snorkel trip through the resort which was very nice. They did a great job explaining the marine life and the Hol Chan Marine Reserve. Lots of hidden expenses visiting Belize so do your research before hand and read up as much as possible.
