The pictures match the property very well. House was clean stocked with everything that you would need for a family. There was good fishing on the lake.

This house works out great for us. We love the feel of being in the country and yet close to the things we want to do. Our favorite thing to do is sit on the deck in the morning and evening. The house is well stocked and had everything we needed.

A lot of room in the house for several people. Everything worked as it should. Kids loved the basement, with walkout to pond. Very nice sitting on the deck, so peaceful.

This property is all about the lake front location. Very relaxing to sit on the deck and watch the geese/ducks/turtles. House is well stocked and is suited for 2 families, with living areas and bathrooms on the main and lower levels. A great location for relaxation.

We enjoyed this rental. It fit the needs of the five of us. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the well stocked kitchen. This older house is located in a really nice development. The house was clean and we really enjoyed sitting on the deck with our morning coffee. The water view was very calming. We are country people so the frogs and bug noise did not bother us. The house was close enough for us to easily get to and from the racetrack. It worked well for us and we would rent here again.

Friends and family were impressed with the rental and our Treatment we received from Heidi. One person from the area asked for information to be able to help others that come to the area.

We rented this house so we could be together as a family for our sons graduation from SIUE. Very relaxing, we hosted dinner after graduation and everyone could spread out and be comfortable. The house is 20 minutes from edwardsville/campus with plenty of room for three grown children, their significant others, and close family to visit and have dinner. Will definitely stay again

We have been staying at Heidi's for a weekend in the summer several years. She is promptly there to answer any questions or concerns. The deck with lake view a great place to hang out for the day. Always up dating and new bedding for rental. Thanks Heidi.

The lake did it for all. Everyone learned to fish even my 2 year old great grand. Could not have picked a better place

great place
The house was plenty big enough for all 11 of us. The pond was great. There wasn't much yard space for the kids to play ball etc. as the ball would roll toward the pond. The mattresses could use an upgrade. Also the trash is to be taken out but there wasn't enough trash bags.

Cozy cabin on the lake
This house was perfect for our family both inside and out. Enough room for everyone to sleep without crowding teens and we really enjoyed being able to get out and lounge/fish every single day. The guard ducks were absolutely amazing and so much fun! Having dishes and towels available was very nice as that's not typically something you carry. The property manager is super nice and I'll Definitely look this place up again when we return.

Peaceful
This house is located in an upper scale neighborhood, nestled in trees on a small lake. The house is much older, but very clean. The only thing they could improve on is the queen beds squeak badly every time you move. We went in to St Louis both days and enjoyed a Cardinal game and Grant’s Farm. We would stay again.

Location nice for family gatherings.
The location was great for family gatherings. This place has a ant problem. We had 2 dozen donuts and a loaf of bread on the counter and had to toss them out. The first morning we got up to eat the donuts and ants all over them. The kids were very upset. Then we noticed that there was ant traps inside and outside the house. We mentioned to the owner she acted like it was a new problem. “ Quote: (“Thank you. I hope you enjoyed your stay and have a safe trip home. I really appreciate the info about the ants I will be able to have it treated before anyone else arrives. That really helps. “. )Before you book, make sure the ants are taken care of.

Convenience and Comfort
We enjoyed our stay. Relaxing setting. Enjoyed the lake. Caught nice blue hill. Quiet and peaceful and close to downtown St Louis. Best of both worlds! Heidi is a great host. Quick to respond to our minor issues and questions. Would book again.

Family Trip
Nice house with a nice view of the lake. House was very kid friendly. Due to rain we were inside for part of the time, WiFi did not work, cable was spotty, and remotes had dead batteries. Upstairs bathroom tub drain was broken but downstairs was functional. But overall a nice house and enjoyed the visit.

Fishing yes, swimming no
We had a nice time while staying here. The fishing was good. But you shouldn’t swim in this lake. But to be fair it wasn’t advertised that way. The house it neat and roomy. ALL the mattresses made loud noise when you moved around. Woke me up every time. Idk what it was, maybe the box spring? The A/C was also a problem. It kept resetting every 2 hours to 75 degrees. It was 95 this weekend so we returned to a hot house each day & woke up sweating every morning. The WiFi was also a big problem. Most of the time it didn’t work and it wasn’t very high speed when it did. The owner did try to fix it for us though.

Sister trip
We are 4 senior sisters. One sister lives in Arkansas and the other 3 live in Ohio. We were looking for a place near St. Louis (which is about halfway between us) and found this nice Bungalow. We visited St. Charles which was very nice and mostly just stayed at the bungalow and visited and played games. We had a great time!!

Fishing fun!
Pristine location with water views from EVERY room of the house. Our kids fished daily and caught huge crappies, blue gills, etc. and even a turtle (by accident!). They also swam when it was warm enough and kayaked. (We brought our own.). The lake was small enough even the four-year-old could tool around in the kayak safely. Kitchen was well equipped, home was exceptionally clean. Our kids also loved the chickens and cat that visited! We took day trips into the city and visited some area parks for hiking. The trees were in full bloom at this time of year, making the drive exceptionally beautiful. Beds were comfy, and there were plenty of towels. Our only complaint was that someone must have been smoking either in the home or on the deck (and allowed the smoke to drift into the home) because when we checked in the smell was significant. Fortunately, the weather was perfect and we were able to throw open the windows every day to air it out. It did not affect the quality of our stay.

The pics for this property on the site don’t do it justice. I fell in love with this property the moment that we walked in. The only downside is that the showers weren’t functional so we had to take baths which was a task when trying to bathe several kids and adults. The property manager was extremely helpful and inviting. I loved the wildlife and attentiveness of the lady on the grounds that made sure we had what we needed and brought us fire wood in her golf cart. I highly recommend this place to anyone needing an escape from the fast pace city life. I can’t wait to stay here again soon.

Spent a lovely long weekend visiting with family. There was plenty of space to enjoy games and quality time together indoors. Along with a beautiful view of the lake during the day, it was even lovelier at night with a fire to keep us warm. Owners were very responsive and helpful. We may be booking this lovely place many more times in the future!

great family getaway on a lake
We had a great time at the Turner Farm. Heidi was responsive to our questions leading up to and including the time during our stay.
The house feels like a true vrbo from when it started- also feels like a house the family may have lived in before moving to another house on the property. They converted the basement into another bedroom and extended sleep area for another 5 people.
The kitchen is stocked with pans, crockpots, a good fridge, and some leftover spices and such shared from previous guests in true original vrbo style.
We spent the week watching and listening to the farm animals (ducks- including seeing some babies hatched, roosters, chickens, horses, turkeys, and a pig), kayaking the lake (about 2 blocks long), and swimming (swim at your own risk- we did see a snake and there are sharp posts and logs under the dock). Gabe even dug out and old fire pit when we wanted to cook hot dogs and s’mores over the fire.
The pieces that would bring the rating up from a 4 or 4.5 to a 5 might be that although the house was cleaned well, there were some cleaning issues when we arrived, the dock wasn’t really safe to get to (just a plank that moved between it and the water), and we had difficulty keeping the flies, gnats, and ants out of the house. The latter might be par for the course in this part of the country. All in all, these improvements are somewhat expected for cabin life, but working on them would simply make it better- we had a good week and the kids are already asking when we can come back.

Outstanding value.
Property prettyuch as advertised. The basement was cool with an outside temperature in the mid to upper eighties. First floor was warm however but every room has a ceiling fan. Fishing off the dock was great. Can catch small bass, big crappie, and of course large sunfish. I would recommend it to anyone that loves the country and likes to fish.

Visit to Grant's Farm
Loved this house! We came to the St. Louis area to visit Grant’s Farm and the Missouri Botanical Gardens. The house is located in a quiet area with a gorgeous lake view. We spent many hours on the deck overlooking the lake. The house was perfect for my 85 year old mother and her walker. We enjoyed the kitchen table to spend family time, but the young adults could also spend time watching TV and playing cards downstairs without disturbing grandma. It was a very short drive into the city.

Very nice semi secluded
Enjoyed the lake, dock and fishing. Lots of space in the house. Had 7 adults and 5 kids, slept us very good. The beds weren’t the most comfortable, especially the king, it was like sleeping in a bowl, but overall very nice.

Nice get away
We really enjoyed the house. It was perfect size for our family. It is in a beautiful neighborhood. The only problem we had was the WiFi wouldn’t work, but we didn’t really need it.

Great Experience
I truly enjoyed the location. It was very quiet and beautiful. We were actually able to see horses from our window and on the deck. We really did not get a chance to enjoy the property due to being out most of the time. Heidi was very nice and helpful. We felt welcomed. I wish I took pictures, but die to how busy we were we did not. The only area of opportunity I would suggest is that I had an issue with the keys at times and there were a lot of spiders in the front of the entries. The bugs were crazy due to the lake. If maybe areal bug repellent sticks could be placed at the entries. The house and owner itself were great! Thank you Heidi!
