About this house rental
Our casa is located on a hill on the South side of Sayulita, only a short 8-minute walk from the village plaza along a dirt road brimming with character. The house exudes a simple, European elegance with high ceilings, tasteful decor and 4 sets of French doors opening up to the courtyard patio, veranda and the palm trees and cactus in the garden. The fully-equipped kitchen includes such extras as blender, toaster, citrus juicer and coffee maker, and opens onto the large outdoor veranda where dinner can be served al fresca with views of Sayulita's hills and valleys. A barbeque is also provided so you can grill up some camarones (shrimp) or fresh fish caught by the local fisherman.
In the summer of 2020 we added a lovely pool and deck for sunning! You will share it with the other casita on the property.
A comfortable king-size bed occupies the 1 bedroom, and a second double bed is set up in the spacious living room for daytime lounging or as a second bed if you need it.
Our Casa is ideally located both close to town and the main beach and close to the less populated beaches: Los Muertos (great, swimming beach) and Carricitos (amazing paradise!) -- a 10-minute and 20-minute walk respectively, through the jungle on small dirt roads.
The caretaker of the Casa lives in town and is available if you need anything.
Our property also houses the owners Casita - a completely separate building from this Casa.
Sheets are changed and maid service is provided once a week if you stay for 2 weeks or more.
Our whole house now has a purified water coming out of all the taps! We have installed a brand new system of UV and carbon filters so that you can now wash all your vegetables and fruits quickly and easily, drink the water straight out of the taps and brush your teeth with the tap water :)
No smoking inside the house, please, only outside on the porch. Gracias!

There is good and bad with this property. Bad first. The bed is like an ironing board. Very hard. Very! The road to the apartment is busy with only pieces of sidewalk. People park on both sides of the road, reducing it to one lane. So cars pile up in one direction while cars going the other direction skirt through. It's ridiculous, but it's Mexico. Unfortunately, it deterred me from going into town. Shower has quite a bit of mineral build up. I'm sure it was clean but it looked yucky. Other than that, it's a pretty good place to stay. Price competitive, homey, cool in hot weather, very clean, screens on all the windows so if you keep the doors closed you'll have no mosquito problems. The kitchen is adequately stocked, pretty quiet neighborhood, close to playa de los Muertos, and safe. Tracy was great. She kept in touch with us and was there to greet us when we arrived.

The terrace is very sweet and the price is right!! Great location near Playa Los Muertos!

Casa Solana is roomy and comfortable. The location is very good, but we encountered quite a bit of noise, especially from the donkey next door. Tracey was super helpful and friendly. One suggestion: a lightweight blanket for the bed would be a big improvement.

We just returned from an amazing two weeks at Casa Solana!! What a fabulous location and a beautiful spacious, clean casa!! It is a short walk into Sayulita and to the local beaches at Los Muertos and Carricitos. You are much closer to these beaches than anywhere else in Sayulita and I would highly recommend that you visit them, they are not to be missed!
We loved all the "local" residents as well, donkeys, mini pony, chickens, roosters and the "turkey" birds!! We loved the neighbourhood sounds and didn't ever mind waking up to it. Napping in the hammock in the afternoon was so much nicer than sleeping in late!! You can hear the sounds of Sayulita as you drift off to sleep at night but it wasn't noisy at all. After all, it was New Years and it is Mexico!! Tracey left us a lot of great information and suggestions, we took them all and tried everything. We also cooked at home and there was nothing missing. The filtered water was so awesome. Never had to worry about it! We enjoyed some amazing breakfasts at Ya Ya's just down the street. You have to check it out (Waffle with bananas, peanut butter, bacon and maple syrup was honestly one of the best things I have ever eaten!!).
I would have to say one of the highlights for us were Tracey's cats. They are so adorable and friendly. They were always there to greet us in the morning and whenever we returned during the day. They were an absolute delight and enjoyed afternoon naps as well!!
The property is so well maintained and very clean. We had a clean done after the first week and she did an amazing job. Having two options for patios to sit on was great. One had some sun in the morning, the other didn't. Afternoon naps were great with the bedroom doors wide open to enjoy the gentle breeze.
I would not hesitate to recommend Casa Solana to my friends and family and we are already talking about going back next year!! It was that great!! Thanks Tracey for a great holiday!!

We had a fabulous stay at Casa Solana. Everything was perfect for our liking. It's in a relatively quiet, residential location, the whole house is shaded by the surrounding trees which made our stay even without AC very comfortable just having the fans going. We spend a lot of time just relaxing out on the patio. The two best beaches, Los Muertos and Playa Carrecitos are just a short walk away, as is the town centre. Everything we needed from beach towels to a blender was there, the beds were very comfortable and the casa was clean on our arrival. Communication with Tracey the caretaker was spot on.

So, it starts with Tracey. Tracey is the resident manager and she is awesome. Kind, sincere, and very available to address questions and recommend "best places for ___." The place itself: charming, super clean and well-presented, comfortable (great beds, much better than others in MX I have had to deal with), no issues with the tap water (go ahead, drink from the tap - yeeeeahh! we did, no problem!), and ceiling fans, lots of windows and the nice breeze keep it comfy. Water pressure fine, shower is good (no reason to over-shower if you go to the beach and swim in the ocean!). Did I mention that this casa is clean?? And plenty of room for a family of 3 or 4. Wifi? Fast and reliable! And in terms of noise, really it's very quiet compared to the places right in town. You do faintly hear the live music from the Plaza bars, but it wasn't anything that kept me awake. If I were trying to sleep at 1am right in town, yeah, totally another story. Whew. Yes, there's the occasional barking dog(s), and plenty roosters yelling at each other and making sure YOU know it's 6 (or 5) am, but hey, it's Mexico. Get over it. One especially awesome thing: location is within around 10 minutes walking distance of the Los Muertos beach. Love that beach! Way better than the main Sayulita beach. This beach is much more scenic, sincere and welcoming. And just the walk to/from is awesome. I am having serious withdrawals. What else - oh, the food in Sayulita, I thought I ate a lot, but I actually LOST weight! Must eat at: Mary's (get the fish bowl, huge & healthy! And their fish tacos are bomb!). Great burgers and bulldogs (cervezaritas) and margaritas at Monchi's. Also the combo platter at Carmelita's, and yes, do have breakfast at Choco Banana, But if you want to make your own breakfast at home, no problem, such as scrambled eggs and chorizo, buy it from the town carniceria (their chorizo is terrific, tons of flavor, not greasy, and not TOO spicy!). Then head right to the beach! Alas Blanca is the local mini-super of choice - great selection of everything, and affordable, and friendly folks!
If you carry-on your vacation stuffs, it's easy to take the local bus here from PVR, just 35 pesos/pax (as of now), 'bout an hour & 10 minutes bus ride, then walk to Casa Solana from the bus stop (around 15 mins walk).
I would stay at this place during the high season again ANYTIME! Great value. This rental is a no-brainer. I'll be back.

I had such a lovely surprise when I arrived at Casa Solana in Sayulita. Two terases with open wide opening doors that make you fieel as if you were outside. The main terrase is such a lovely place to relax and enjoy drinks or meals, alone or with a group of friends. I used to do jogging almost everyday, as the house is only a few minutes of isolared jungle paths where you can feel as close to nature as possible. The beaches Playa de los muertos, Patzcuarito and Carricitos are only a few minutes away. I used to spend every evenig at these isolated beaches as the main beach was kind of crowded for me The best sunsets are at Playa Carricitos and if you want to roll on a black beach sand, Playa Pascuaritos is the place to go...Tracey is such a lovely person and she made us feel as if we were at home...I would highly recommend this place. Hope to come back to Sayulita and stay at Casa Solana again..
