The beach in front of the house is absolutely breathtaking and hardly used as there is no public access close to the home. The water is crystal clear and the snorkeling is great.
The North Shore is the quiet part of Oahu but is only minutes from great food, shopping and fantastic sites.
The home comfortably sleeps 4 and has 1 bedroom with a Queen sized bed and 1 pullout Full size couch in the living room, one full bath, fully equipped kitchen, (We also have a few floor mattresses) Living room has a new flat screen TV with a DVD player for movie nights..The property has a long private gated driveway with your own parking spot. The home is less than ten minutes from the historic town of Haleiwa, which is the main town on the north shore of Oahu. It has lots of restaurants, shopping, a marina (in case you would like to go deep sea fishing), and live entertainment nightly in some of the restaurants. About five miles away from the house in the other direction, are two championship golf courses, horseback riding, lots of amazing restaurants, and several bars. Ted’s Bakery is walking distance from the homes with some of the best food on this side of the island. There are always exciting surf competitions to watch during the winter months such as the Triple Crown(Pipeline Masters which is the super bowl of surfing) and the much anticipated Eddie Aikau Invitational.
There is a great Supermarket “Food Land” about a half mile from the house, which also has a Coffee Bean coffee shop. All the Island activities, from scuba diving, to jet-skis are all just minutes away from this tropical retreat. Scuba diving is also a major attraction on the North Shore with both boat and shore dives available. The Hula Hut is just adorable, the grounds lovely and the location is a North Shore dream. Our hosts were responsive to our needs before and during our stay and were very friendly, I'm so glad we were able to meet them.

We had a great time! Melissa and Tyler were so friendly and wonderful. We can’t wait to return

Place was small, closed in. Made me feel claustrophobic. Nice access to the beach. Very friendly owners.

The condo was very nice, not ocean front, but behind another condo on the same property. It has everything and very clean. We didn't use much the kitchen, as Ted's bakery is just 5' walk from the condo. Location is obviously perfect, even though we couldn't swim much as the waves were already big.

We spent 8 days in the Hula Hut, that is to say we slept there! The location is perfect for getting out and about along the North Shore. With the Pacific in the backyard, you are literally steps away from relaxing at the beach. Sunset Beach is a short walk along the shore; meaning that the sunsets from the Hula Hut property are AMAZING! If there is a complaint, it is not about the Hula Hut but rather other guests who use the washer dryer right outside the bedroom door at all hours. There is a sign posted telling them not to do laundry at all hours but alas. Mahalo, Hula Hut!

We spent two weeks on Oahu, but our 5 nights here were the standout on an awesome holiday! It is not luxury, but wow. We will remember our time here forever. From the sunsets every night over Sunset Beach right in the backyard, to the early morning stunning rainbows, the sea glass scattered along the shore, this is one special stay!
Do yourself a favour and book this place. You will be forever grateful that you did.
Mahalo!

The Hula Hut could use some updating, needs new stove and bathroom cabinets. There was no BBQ grill for us to use, the other 2 homes had one. Kitchen needs upgraded utensils and cookware. Definitely need new beach chairs if ur going to supply for visitors. Location and Privacy was a plus. Manager responded quickly to any questions you might have.

Bedroom A/C did not cool at all during our stay. We didn't call the manager about it, but they know now so hopefully it gets fixed/replaces for the next person. All other amenities worked well and were as advertised.
The shared outdoor seating area has a lovely ocean view with breeze, but is not covered or shaded. The two other units on the property have covered outdoor seating with ocean view, but this one does not. Beach access is great.

This place is steps away from a beautiful beach and such a great location to explore the north shore from. We had a bit of trouble finding it, our Google maps took us just down the road a bit, we found it based on the check in description of the entry. I would definitely come back!

Well maintained property with an excellent location. There was an air conditioner but it wasn't very cold, the cool air at night was a relief. Be warned there are geckos inside the house. Overall a nice place to stay.

We had a great time staying at the Hula Hut. The location is absolutely perfect being right on the beach to enjoy some of the best sunsets you can find. Had just enough amenities to make the unit comfortable and the sitting area overlooking the beach made a great place to enjoy breakfast and coffee. Not only is being on the beach great but the location is walking distance to food as we enjoyed Ted's and Banzai Bowl almost every day. Great place to rent bikes and cruise up and down the path to several great beach spots and a short drive to Waimea and Haleiwa. We would definitely look to stay at this spot again.

Very much enjoyed our stay. Loved the location, very convenient for both beach and food. Melissa and Tyler are excellent hosts.
Teds Bakery is across the road and their plate lunch is fantastic with very large portions. Banzai Bowl is within walking distance and Foodland has great Poke Bowl.
Thank you

My family and I had so much fun, the beach is not crowded and has a gorgeous view of sunsets. Every time we ventured out to more popular beaches by Honolulu, we missed the secluded feel of the north shore.

Can not ask for more, best location ever in the North Shore! Will be back for sure, hosts went extra mile to accommodate and help us, Mahalo!!!!

This is the perfect place to stay on the North Shore. Close to everything, quaint, private and right on the ocean! It was so helpful that they provided many items such as beach chairs, beach towels, water shoes, water toys, boogie board etc. Another bonus was the washer and dryer available. We loved our stay here and would absolutely stay here again!

Location is everything with this rental!
If you are looking for a surf hut vibe, look no farther! Is it in pristine condition? No it’s not, but this surf hut has all the jungly vibes of the north shore. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the huge waves and whales from the front yard and snorkeling a few hundred yards down the beach. Daily Sea turtle sightings, and walking distance to multiple eateries. The hosts are the sweetest too.

This is such cute little place to stay! Right on the beach but very private. Just walk out the door and you're there, Nice yard and great spot to sit with your sweetie and have a cocktail while you watch the gorgeous sunsets! Tyler and Melissa yare beyond words! There aren't enough nice things to say about what fantastic hosts and just genuine people they both are. If you choose to stay here you won't be disappointed!

This end unit was a good place to make a quick breakfast before heading outside to enjoy all Oahu has to offer. A comfy bed and living room was great to unwind at the end of the day. For those who do not stay inside when on vacation, this is perfect! Am amazing beach view just steps from the front door. This units back yard was nearly perfect from sunrise to sunset. Tall palm trees provided shade. A nice sitting area to watch the waves come in. Loved the outdoor shower and wash station.
Some minor inconveniences but not a deal breaker. The AC in the bedroom was poorly placed and only cooled the bedroom, not the living area. Very tight parking but adequate. the bathroom could use a facelift. The whole unit needs to have curtains on all of the windows. The sun really heats the place up.
We were thankful for the well stocked kitchenette, the bath and beach towels. The ability to use a washer and dryer. This place is definitely a gem! We will stay again!

This property is all about location. The north shore is Oahu best kept secret. We island hopped for the remainder of the trip but the hula hut was our favoy

We loved the beach front location with a lovely grass yard, large eating area, hammock and outdoor shower. The families staying in the other two bungalows were very friendly and even invited us to use the rooftop deck... Awesome! The beach in front has loads of tide pools and very few people. Views are gorgeous! It was quiet, very nice neighborhood, electric gate, beautiful landscaping. The shower could use an upgrade eventually but it was clean and great water pressure. Wish we would've looked under the sink cabinet because we wouldn't have bought sunscreen, shampoo, body wash and aloe vera had we seen the supply initially. The laundry unit outside our door was shared but everyone was respectful and quiet.. No problems there. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

The Hula Hut was perfect for the second half of our trip! The space was just enough for us and it was clean and equipped with an oven (We made moonfish from Food Land mins away) and a fridge for storing left overs. The kitchen had everything we needed inc. extras like condiments! The bathroom had a lot of counter space for spreading out our toiletry bags. Could the space use an update? Of course but if you're looking for a state of the art stay, go spend hundreds more at Turtle Bay (Super ritzy- YUCK). If you want an authentic, nice, cozy, quiet space with unlimited beach access and again a beautiful and safe surrounding then look no where else! Hula Hut is your place. The posters inside the room had us curious to look up surfing competitions and we had fun learning what the winters are like in the North Shore! We loved the vibe of the North Shore and were so close to everything it had to offer from shops to restaurants! We loved snorkeling at Shark's Cove- WOW! We also loved being 10 min away from the North Shore Shark Adventures and to Waimea Falls, where we swam, enjoyed the gardens, went to Toa Luau and the farmer's market. Being steps away from Ted's Bakery for great food and desserts was a huge plus! We loved sitting out on the provided chairs under the palm trees and stars at night, enjoying the quiet space and listening to the waves, something that would have been IMPOSSIBLE to do on Waikiki! It was intimate and beautiful staying here and watching the sunset later in the da! I felt so safe even with the beach being secluded at night. There were previous complaints about the door slamming from the other property in the living room, yes it did make a noise each time someone left but it wasn't to the point I would complain. The only AC is in the bedroom but it cooled down the whole place after a while, it just took a bit to cool down at first. With the AC on there is no way you would hear a door slamming in the living room if you were in the bed room because the AC is loud which is great to cancel any noise you would hear. We loved being able to use the washer and dryer (soap provided) right outside of our room, no other guests used it! So appreciated! The area outside is lovely to sit overlooking the ocean but if other guests are on their porch it can be awkward because it felt like we were intruding on their space. There was a cute gecko on the ceiling that paid us a visit. Impressed with this space and have friends already looking to book!

As the saying goes...Location Location Location! The Hula Hut, which has a fun surfer vibe to it, sits on an amazing piece of property steps from the beach, where you can join in or simply sit and watch the many varieties of surfers. Pupukea is the quintessential beach town offering great beaches and an assortment of food options to quench your taste buds. Your hosts, Tyler and Melissa are extremely gracious and are more than willing to answer any questions you may have. If you're looking for a lay back, chill atmosphere look no further and plan a visit.

To have side by side units was such a great arrangement. The quiet morning watching the ocean was 2nd only to the beautiful sunsets in the backyard.

The hut is cute though a little grungy. Even if it’s clean, it doesn’t look that clean, what with dark furniture and old floors and a shower that didn’t drain fast enough.
BUT.
The location is INCREDIBLE. You’re half a mile’s stroll from Sunset Beach, you’re 900 feet from Ted’s Bakery, you’re right on the bike path which provides a magical jungle route along the North Shore, and you’re a quick drive from lots of touristy shops in Haleiwa.
You’re also right on the beach without leaving the hut, though take note that because the hut is attached to the main house, which blocks the view, you can’t actually see ocean unless you wander outside. But the picnic table and the hammock made up for that. Such a lovely spot to eat breakfast and read!
Melissa and her husband are the BEST. Relaxed, kind people full of the aloha spirit. They welcomed us like we were family and took care of all our needs with joy. Highly recommend them!
So if you’re a fuss budget who prefers a sterile hotel environment, this rustic hut might not be for you. But if you want that casual North Shore vibe and you don’t mind wearing your flipflops in the shower…BOOK THIS PLACE. 🌊

I want to go back just because of the location. It was absolutely amazing location we saw turtles sitting on the beach. We saw whales jumping in the backyard. The house was amazing and it was bigger in person then the photos. Highly recommend staying there if you are a group of two or four.

We had a fantastic stay in the Hula Hut. The location is amazing: we could hear the waves from inside the house. It’s in a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to the beach and the bike/walking path. We couldn’t swim in the winter swells but renting bikes and going to watch the surfers at banzai pipeline made up for it. The house is a little older but clean and well stocked. The host was quick to respond and very accommodating and helpful. She gave us lots of recommendations for activities and food and everything we did we enjoyed. As we checked out I was already trying to plan when we could come back.

I would live in the Hula Hut if I could. I love, love, love this spot.
Is it a 5-star resort? No. But if you want that why are you on the North Shore anyway? This place is better. The hut is a perfect spot to chill, watch the surf, hit the beach, or launch your adventures from - and have a 5-star view and vibe. I. can't wait to stay again. This place was great for my soul.

We went to Hawaii to visit our soldier and to have the vacation we missed out on in May of 2020. We loved the Hula Hut! It is a nice place in an awesome location right on the beach. I loved the backyard with the hammock. We toured around the Island and this is the best place to be if you want a not so tourist area. Things are close but you are not right in the tourist locations. Everything we needed was there for us, beach chairs, towels, snorkel gear, boogie boards and dishes. Plenty of space for our family of 4. It was nice to chit chat with the other people staying there. Can’t wait to stay there again!!

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Hula Hut! Property was exactly as described. The location, with a nice big lawn right on the ocean and direct beach access to this quiet stretch of the North Shore, is just perfect and is exactly what we are looking for.
The Hula Hut itself is exactly as shown. It's not fancy, but we weren't looking for that. Queen bed with A/C, a fully equipped kitchen with all we needed to make coffee and breakfast every morning.
We had a great anniversary weekend, thank you!

I rented the Hula Hut with 2 of my friends for my 30th birthday and it did not disappoint! It was a great area, spent a lot of time at the beach so having a private entrance was bomb. We were also really close to delicious food, we ate at food trucks just down the way and also at restaurants in Haleiwa. This was a great place to stay since we were active and running around the island all day. The Hula Hut checked all of our boxes and was exactly what we were expecting, will definitely recommend to anyone I know visiting Ohau!Aloha from Kansas City! ❤

Our first visit to hawaii and we stayed at the Hula Hut. The Hut accommodated our family of four, 2 adults 2 children. The location is fabulous right in the heart of the North shore but not the crowds. The beach in front of our place was a few people here and there most days you could hardly see 10 people right out front. The place was very convient if part of your family wanted to swim while the others did something else as everything was right outside.
Make sure to watch a sunset from the backyard as it was beautiful.
Don't get concerned with the size of the place, You are in Hawaii Go outside already! We cooked breakfast and lunch most days with the kitchen, in addition to a barbecue in the yard for the nights. This spot is magical and we would love to come back.
The outside had snorkel gear and boogie boards to use we didn't have to rent anything. Also right on the bike path so if you rented bikes for your stay you wouldn't need to get in the car. Many beaches within close distance so enjoy. We swam with sharks, cliff drove at the bay and countless other activities we will never forget this trip and this Hula Hut!
