About this cottage rental
Pointe Marian Beach Cottage is a charming home on a lovely, no-bank, waterfront property with absolutely breathtaking mountain views. Located 3 miles from the Alderbrook Resort, this picturesque retreat is a quick ferry ride or easy drive from Seattle. Despite its proximity to the city, it seems like a million miles away.
Pointe Marian features 2 beautifully appointed bedrooms on the first floor, both furnished with king size beds.
The living room offers a rare treat, a hide-a-bed that WASN'T purchased at a dungeon equipment sale.
The upstairs loft bedroom has a queen size bed and two twin beds--perfect for a couple or a whole family.
You'll love the cozy decor and the cooks in your group will rave about the well-equipped kitchen with a million dollar view!
This romantic cottage will melt your stress away. A jewel perched on the most beautiful stretch of the Hood Canal, the Great Bend, Pointe Marian's vistas will take your breath away. Cuddle by the antique parlor stove and watch the ever-changing variety of water fowl and marine mammals through the huge picture windows. Snap a picture of a harbor seal dozing in the sun. Dine with friends by chandelier light on the deck. Take a dip in the balmy water on a late summer's night.
For those who want to explore the waterways, you'll find a kayak launch on-site. Or, if you don't have kayaks or paddle boards, you can rent them just a short drive away at Alderbrook Resort. If you'd like to bring your motor boat, you'll find the public boat launch just a mile up the road.
Want to go for a drive? Wine tasting and shopping are just minutes away in Hoodsport. Or head up to the Alderbrook Resort for a spa day.
In the mood for a hike? One of the most beautiful and untouched wilderness areas in the world is just up the Peninsula. For an easy picturesque hike, head down to Twanoh State Park on Highway 106.
Are there golfers in your group? Set them loose at the famous Alderbrook Golf Course.
Perhaps you'd like to take an easy stroll from the cottage? Just a mile down the road is to Dos Margaritas Mexican restaurant, a great spot for lunch or dinner. Stop to browse in the antique store on the way.
Right next door to the Mexican restaurant is the Union City Market. Here you’ll find wonderful local art and handmade crafts, as well as delightful local foods and wines.
Then cross the street to the Union Country Store for an ice cream cone (Pointe Marian guests love the Lemon Chiffon) and peruse the quirky collection of merchandise.
Whether you're eager to get out and explore or you prefer to laze away the days relaxing at the water's edge with a book, you'll want to make Pointe Marian Beach Cottage a regular destination!

This is the perfect property for a couple or family get away. The hosts provide all kinds of dishes, cook wear, glasses, and kitchen gadgets and spices that allow you to cook a family meal just like you were at home. The house has a great deck with several tables and lots of chairs so family can have meals outside, watch the sun rise & sets or the wildlife that swim by. You will always see lots of seals & eagles. There is a great sand box & toys for kids and a boat ramp to launch your kayak and explore the canal & tide lands. We like this house so much we book a stay every summer.

Great beachfront cottage at an idyllic location! Excellent getaway for young and old. Property had everything needed for a perfect stay.

The property was well-situated with a deck overlooking the water. The house was well-stocked and well-equipped. The upstairs room has a low ceiling (unsuitable for adults). The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are steep with no railing. Overall, it was a pleasant environment and we enjoyed our stay.

The location and scenery of this property gives you everything you need to relax. Our family of 7 thoroughly enjoyed the amazing views of Hood Canal, from the birdlife at low tide to the swimming at high tide, not to mention the backdrop of the Olympics during the sunset! Owner was responsive and great to work with, we will defintely be back.

On the water, with a magnificent view of the Olympics, just spectacular. The house is not large, but designed and furnished for maximum usability, and it's well and thoughtfully stocked. Being on a septic system, we had to plan showers with time in between, but it was OK. We were glad there was wireless internet, even though the website said there wasn't.

We had a small family reunion of sorts at Pointe Marian. It’s a family friendly snug little cottage that just has everything you could possibly need … a well stocked kitchen, a lovely deck for al fresco dinners and a view to die for! The quirky decor was fun., the beds were comfy and towels plentiful. We loved watching the wildlife at low tide. The oysters from Hama Hama were some of the best I’ve ever had! Great proximity to the ONP and lots of fun spots along Hood Canal. Our host, Kathy was readily available by text and helped promptly with any concerns. I would not hesitate to book again.

Kathy is a wonderful host and the house was so cozy! We had a blast exploring the property and surrounding area with our small children and friends. The view is absolutely gorgeous! There was a lot to do on the property whether we played at the beach or sat around the fire and grilled. The house itself was cozy and comfortable - this is definitely a place that the owners care for and cherish. Kathy added some wonderful personal touches that made us feel very welcome. We'd definitely stay here again!

We absolutely loved the cabin, and had an amazing stay there Thanksgiving week. The view was spectacular, and from the first moment we had several seals keeping us company and entertaining all of us.
I can't say enough about how comfortable and well-appointed this place is. The kitchen has everything you would ever need. We very much appreciated the pantry and liked that we could contribute to it on our way out.
In addition, our dog and children made good use of the deck and exploring at low tide was lots of fun. We brought family here who have never seen this area, and they are still raving about the view, the proximity to more beauty, and the cute layout of the house.
Kathy was incredibly responsive and helpful as well. We would definitely return here,

We enjoyed watching the ebb and flow of the tides from the porch with a variety of wildlife to watch. The house is comfortable and the property manager is very professional and prompt.

Well situated, well equipped, well loved.

We had a fun family stay at the house on Point Marion. We would sit all afternoon on the back deck and either count the wildlife (seals, eagles, jumping fish), read, snack or play games. My son loved to go out and fish, following the seals. And the sunsets with the mountains were spectacular. The house was cozy and the beds were super comfy. We loved it.

We had a wonderful time. Beautiful view. Very homey, and comfortable for the 9 of us. Had every amenity we could have needed and more.

Ever-changing views of the water and mountains were spectacular! Saw a bald eagle try to steal a fresh-caught fish from an osprey in mid-flight. Seals and otters were seen swimming and sunning themselves everyday. The house was welcoming in every way, as was the owner. Great for all ages!

What a wonderful home and location for a long overdue family reunion. Everything we needed was available and the beautiful home was very clean. We enjoyed the view from the deck watching the seals and wildlife. The decor was amazing and very comfortable. We hope to Go back Again!

My family had a wonderful time at Point Marion. The cottage is adorable and the host thought to leave everything possible to make our stay enjoyable. The view of the water and the mountains was breathtaking. What a wonderful place to relax.

Wonderful getaway, especially with the recent high temperatures! We were there on the warmest day of the year (105+) and greatly appreciated the air conditioner for the upstairs bedroom. My grandchildren slept comfortably on the twin beds while fans for both downstairs bedroom kept things cool. There is a wonderful view because the cottage is waterfront. The grandchildren were excited to look and see wildlife as bald eagles, seals and exploring the beach looking under rocks for sea life. The location is perfect for access to two state parks, Lake Cushman, several small towns (Hoodsport, Union, Tahuya), Alderbrook Resort. Another plus is that the cottage is located on Highway 106 which is much more quiet than Highway 101. We quickly got in the habit of a daily Olympic Mountain ice cream cone, available at several locations. The owners were readily available for questions and gave good tips for nearby attractions. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, but if you want to eat out, there are nearby options. We enjoyed our stay!!

We had plenty of room for 4 adults and 3 grandkids on a rainy weekend.Room for games, time to enjoy a fire pit and a short hike nearby. House is very well stocked and nicely furnished. A family treasure on the canal.

We feel so lucky to have found this gem for a Covid-safe long weekend. We really wanted just to have a few days on the water somewhere to break up the monotony of pandemic life and the cleaning protocols and time put between guests really helped us feel good about our choice. The adorable, comfortable, well appointed, cottage along with its stunning views was extra special icing on the cake!! Kathy was very welcoming and she was quick to answer questions when needed as well. We will definitely be back!!

My family and I stayed here for several days and had an excellent time just relaxing with a wonderful view right off the water. The home had everything we needed, including a great TV setup, comfy beds, full kitchen, and a bundle of wood for us to burn. The host was very quick to respond to any questions, and helped provide a great experience for my family over the holidays. Will definitely consider renting again.

We had a lovely social distanced Thanksgiving here. It was the perfect place for our little family of three (with one toddler). My son loved wondering around the cottage and the sandbox. We had great days watching tv and cooking with the amazing view and beautiful drives around the area. Really special place.

We had a wonderful time. The house was clean, cozy, and had the charm that truly made this trip feel like an escape. Incredible mountain and canal views and great wildlife all visible from the comfortable back deck. The house had all the amenities we needed and Kathy was just so easy and nice to work with throughout the booking process. If you like fun and you like to relax, this must be your next stop! Thanks so much!-Drew

View of Hoods Canal and Olympic Mt. we’re spectacular from the cottage and it’s wrap around porch overlooking Anna’s Bay. Kitchen was impressively stocked to create memorable meals with local produce from Hunters Farm. Wonderful and relaxing week at Point Mariam!

This home sits on the Great Bend of the Hood Canal, it is the perfect location to explore the estuary of the Skokomish River by Kayak, the home even has a ramp for launching Kayaks. The home itself is more than comfortable, well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and unsurpassed views of the canal and mountains beyond. The first night there we were, treated to an incredible sunset, a sunset no painter could do justice to. All during our stay we were treated to a show by the seals that hang around on a raft anchored in the bay, this included flipper slap fights that would do the 3 Stooges proud. The house has an eclectic movie collection that has something for all tastes. My one and only negative is the lack of internet, my traveling companion had a work issue that had to be addressed, we had to resort to driving to the library in Belfair to gain access. That issue aside I would absolutely recommend this property.

Our family had a wonderful time at this little cottage on the south end of Hood Canal. We were able to swim when the tide came in and could watch a family of Harbor seals from the deck as they lounged and barked on a nearby dock. Eagles hunt in the area and are often swooping overhead during the low tide. Great bird watching! The tide goes way out and then rises right up to the bulkhead and the view is always changing.
The house itself is charming and comfortable with lovely views and creative little touches in every room. There was ample space for our family, a well stocked kitchen and two cute little bathrooms. The cottage is clean and has all the comforts of home. We were able to relax and unwind while enjoying sunsets and dinners on the deck. We enjoyed sandwiches and ice cream from the nearby Union Station little store. There are a few shops to explore in the area as well.
We brought our bulldog who enjoyed the sunning himself on the deck and dipping his paws in the saltwater. It was comforting to have him on the deck with us which is completely enclosed with cute little gates because the road along the canal is quite busy on weekends.
If your looking for a quiet, charming place to unwind and enjoy nature I would highly recommend Pointe Marion!

We immediately felt welcome! Cozy vast beautiful views that change every moment. Conveniently close to Union but quiet and comfortable. So much better than a hotel or resort!! Hoping to come back again!

We rented this sweet cottage for 5 nights in early August as a family getaway with our two adult daughters/husbands and our 3 year old granddaughter. We absolutely loved the homey feel and overall comfort of this cabin, with so many extras provided for our comfort! The sandbox and bonfire area were used daily, and the big table in front of that amazing view (to say nothing of the well-stocked kitchen) kept us wanting to stay there for virtually all our meals. The small craft launch was perfect for our SUP and canoe. I wasn't sure at first about the tidal changes, but we all agreed that the changing seascape made it all the more interesting. We watched eagles feast on salmon, many seals playing in the water, blue herons fishing, and more. The location was great for nearby golf and hiking, and even running to the store in Hoodsport a couple of times was an easy trip. We moored our motor boat at Alderbrook nearby - super convenient. And no WIFI/TV plus often spotty cell phone reception made our unplugged experience all that much better! There's so much to love about this place, we are already talking about our return visit. The owner was very responsive and great to work with.
