About this house rental
Enjoy the vacation of a lifetime at Hook, Wine & Sinker on the beautiful western shore of Seneca Lake. Located in the heart of wine country, this uniquely designed contemporary home offers spacious guest accommodations and an outstanding lakefront experience.
A private, dead end road leads right to the oversized parking area with a recreational horseshoe pit behind the house. There are just a few steps up to a covered porch and main entry into the house.
As you enter the house, to the right is a full bathroom with a shower, and left of the hallway is a nice sized bedroom with queen bed. The hallway continues straight toward the great room, or branches off to the right where the laundry area, an additional full bathroom with shower, and an oversized bedroom featuring a king size bed and spacious closet is located. An additional queen bedroom is located to the left of the hall just before the few steps down to the main living level. All bedrooms have flat screen televisions with cable.
Oversized picture windows face the lakeside of the house in the great room and living room, offering a stunning view of the lake upon entry. Tall, cathedral style ceilings with wood beams and barn style wood walls give the great room a spacious, Adirondack feel. A spacious kitchen, with new appliances and a breakfast bar island with seating for four, provides plenty of space for preparing and serving buffet style meals.
Along the wall of windows is a long dining table with seating for eight, offering fabulous views to guests for all meals. As an added bonus, a dry bar runs along the back corner of the great room and offers bar style seating and a large flat screen TV for enjoying your favorite sporting event. On the south side of the great room is a large, glass enclosed living room. This room contains a large flat screen TV, abundant and comfortable furnishings, and a queen sleeper sofa for additional sleeping space. A door facing the lake leads out to a multi-level deck overlooking the lake, with quality patio furniture and a hot tub off the north side. On the north side of the great room is a hidden door that opens and leads to additional sleeping accommodations.
A master bedroom with French doors facing the lakeside screen porch offers a king size bed, flat screen cable TV, and a private ensuite bathroom with shower/tub combo. At the end of the hall to the right is another queen bedroom, with a flat screen TV and sliding glass doors that leads out to the screened sitting porch overlooking the lake.
A set of stairs at the end of the hall leads down to the sixth bedroom located in the finished basement, with a queen size bed, flat screen TV, and pool table in the game area.
Outside just off the deck is a spacious, 6 person hot tub, built in firepit with chairs, and a picnic table overlooking the lakefront below. A small wooden walk bridge meets up with the gravel path which leads to the level lawn and 220 feet of lakefront below the house. A small shed on the beach houses a stand up paddleboard, paddles for the canoe, and life jackets, as well as fishing poles and additional fun water toys. A permanent dock is available for sun bathing or fishing, and a newly built covered boat slip is available for guests to enjoy mooring their boat in.
Hook, Wine & Sinker has several excellent wineries within a short drive, the closest being Herman J. Weimer Vineyard at the end of the road. Situated ideally in the middle of the west side of Seneca Lake, this incredible lake house is less than 20 minutes from Watkins Glen, Geneva, and Penn Yan, where guests can enjoy Watkins Glen International Raceway, walking along the Gorge at the state park, enjoy the culinary delights of several fine restaurants, the Windmill Farm and Craft market, and three excellent golf courses.

A beautiful spot and an easy one to “host” larger family gatherings. Clean; great appliances; as what is advertised.

This was a beautiful house! It accommodated my children and their families for a Christmas get together. The view from the table in the kitchen was breathtaking.
We all are in agreement to rent this in a warmer time so we can enjoy all the outdoor furniture and the lake.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.

My family and I stayed at this gorgeous property with it's priceless views of Seneca Lake. The home was spacious and accommodating for our group which consisted of 10 adults and 4 children. There were only two small issues worth mentioning; the air vent and lights above the stove were caked with grease and dust, which didnt really affect our stay, nonetheless should be noted. The other concern was the hot tub was filthy when we arrived, but a quick phone call to property management and they sent someone out to clean it. We were very pleased with the quick service. The property itself was breathtaking. There are several different areas to spread out to and enjoy. We made good use of the fire pits, horse shoe pits, beach, and dock. Regarding the access to the lake... its a narrow, steep hill with a few bends down to the lake, tried it in my Subaru Crosstrek to get my kayaks and grandparents down there... we stopped about halfway down and realized it was not a good idea to continue. My grandparents were not able to make it down there at first, however we rented an ATV and that did the trick and made it accessible to our whole party. Once down there we were able to kayak, sun bathe, enjoy a fire, and fish. The house sits pretty much in between Watkins Glen and Geneva (about 20-30 mins in either direction). Dundee is about a 10-15 minute ride (did our grocery shopping there). Oh, and there is a winery right across the road from the driveway! Views, charm, privacy, location, wineries.... we couldn't have asked for much more than that! We hope to return in the future.

Wonderful friends' weekend away. Just sad we didn't have more time to enjoy at the house. Photos do not do the view justice!

Had a fantastic wine weekend at HOOK WINE & SINKER!!!! The picture above was the Saturday morning sunrise that we woke up to...gorgeous!!!!
We only had one maintenance issue regarding the bathroom and hopefully it will be fixed in time for our next visit. This place is now our “go to” place after several years of staying at Seneca Shores which was booked already for 2017 making me research a new house for a party of 10+. I already booked it for next year!!! Cannot wait!!!

Hook, wine and sinker definitely hooked our family of 10! We had an amazing stay at this beautiful home! It was everything you could ask for in a vacation rental and so much more!! The view amazed me every time I looked out the windows and we were even blessed with a gorgeous rainbow one evening! House was clean and well stocked!! We spent at least two days just hanging here and enjoying the amenities ( hot tub, pier and great decks). We saw and visited many wineries, state parks and shops! Great trip...our thanks !!!!
