About this house rental
This special home was built during the depression by our grandfather K.G. Anthony. Many of the materials used in the construction were hand-picked by K.G. and his attention to detail is evident throughout the house. The house was designed to be comfortable without A/C, but 4 of the 7 bedrooms have window A/C units.
The house is in excellent shape. The kitchen is fully equipped with a built-in dishwasher, a pilotless gas stove, a microwave, and a large refrigerator. The living room has oak hardwood floors and pine walls and ceilings which provide the perfect atmosphere for relaxing in front of the fire at the end of the day. All common areas are spacious, making our house ideal for family reunions and multi-family vacations.
Three day rentals are allowed in the spring and fall and 7 day rentals are required during July and August. The rental week extends from 4 pm Saturday to 10 am the following Saturday. Clean sheets are provided at the beginning of the week.
We hope that you and your family will enjoy this property as much as our family has over the years.

Everything was great
I would check the septic lid. Pretty sure the seal is not functioning properly. Smelled sewer frequently

We chose this rental to celebrate my parents' 64th wedding anniversary with a family gathering that included me, my two sisters, two brothers-in-law, four nephews, one niece, and two dogs. The gas grill allowed us to prepare BBQ Chicken, Ribeye steaks, and Lamb loin chops, while ample cooking pots made it easy to boil lobsters and corn on the cob. The dock, ideal for fishing and relaxing, also served as a convenient spot to moor our rented pontoon boat for a few nights, adding to our enjoyment.
The location couldn't have been better. We could walk or kayak to Miles Winery. We could also walk to the Showboat Hotel Bar and Restaurant. Sapalta Restaurant, just a short stroll away, impressed us with its excellence. The entire family had a fantastic time exploring the area's attractions. We played tennis at Watkins Glen High School, enjoyed nearby golf courses, and indulged in tastings at over five wineries. Our hikes along the Watkins Glen Gorge Trail and the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail offered breathtaking views, and even a round of mini-golf added to our fun-filled days.
For convenience, Penn Yan Tops supermarket was just a short drive away. Overall, our experience at this rental exceeded expectations. Five stars - thank you!

We had a large group of 18. We loved the location, the view, the fire pit, the water and activities. It was such a cozy home while still being able to accommodate a large group. We were there during the heat wave so it was very hot in some areas of the house. Two bathrooms in bedrooms made it difficult to maneuver, but it can work if your group is smaller than ours. Overall, a great place!!!!

The view of Seneca Lake was beautiful, the house was very clean, well equipped with kitchen supplies and ample towels. The beds were comfortable. Corresponding with the owner was easy. A large load of firewood was delivered. Our only complaint was that our stay was too short .

Exactly as advertised. Liked the separate bedrooms on the north wing. Plenty of indoor room. Best view of the lake from fire pit.

The house is big and had amazing views of the lake and lots of property to run and play. Our only issue we’re the bats that were in the house almost nightly. We called the owner and his suggestion was to close one of the doors to the family room but the bats were still there and we had to dispatch some of them. Otherwise it’s a great place to stay.

Our entire family vacations together every year and we were truly lucky to have found this amazing place. It had plenty of space and the scenery was amazing!

Wonderful location with a great view of the lake. The house was old but well kept and clean. There were 16 of us and it would have been nice to have another bathroom. It was easy to get to major attractions in the area. We all did a sail on the schooner True Love which I would recommend as it gave a different view of the area. Drive The Glen was another favorite of the family. Then there's the wineries of course.
All in all a wonderful family vacation. Highly recommended.

6 Families stayed here for our annual memorial weekend trip. It was a great place for a large group. Beautiful location. The house was great had so much to offer. We enjoyed all of it! The beach and the dock was a great hit on a hot day and the fire pit was wonderful for cool evenings. The ping pong table was a nice surprise as well. We loved it so much we immediately booked it again for next Memorial Day weekend.

Good communication with owner but had a number of issues with house that didn't make it worth the price we paid.

The house had plenty of space, an amazing waterfront, and the owners were very responsive and helpful. Would absolutely recommend and love to stay again.

We recently held a family reunion at Anthony’s Big House with 17 adults and 3 small children. The house was just perfect for us. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, appliances (including toaster oven, toaster and waffle maker kept in the pantry) and pots and pans, but could use a few more drinking glasses. The dining room has a large table with benches plus a couple additional drop-leaf tables for extra space. The main living room is very dark – there are no overhead lights- but since we were blessed with perfect weather, we spent most of our time outdoors and on the great screened-in porch. The “dormitory” room upstairs was roomy with 2 double beds and 2 twins with trundle pull-outs. The upstairs bathroom is very nice and modernized. Plus, the dormitory’s air conditioner worked great to cool the entire space. One of the downstairs bedrooms contains a bunk bed, not two twins, and is very small. The other bedrooms were spacious, especially the “primary” bedroom. One nice amenity not mentioned in the home’s description is that all the downstair bedrooms (except the bunk bed room) have doors to the outdoor patio at the front of the house, as well as doors into the interior hallway.
The firepit is gorgeous. We had to buy our own wood and some of the wooden Adirondack chairs are dangerously falling apart. The yard is spacious and we found a treasure trove of lawn games in the garage (where there is also a second fridge and freezer – very helpful for a large group). The dock is in beautiful condition, and the beach is shale stone which is very flat and rounded, so easy to walk on. Plus, there is an enormous grass front yard, perfect for frisbee, croquet, etc. The entire setting of this home is gorgeous.
Garbage from the previous renters had not been picked up, and animals had gotten into it and made a mess around the garbage shed. We contacted the owners and the garbage was cleaned up on the next work day (unfortunately for us, that was 3 days after our arrival).
Be aware that the nearest town for shopping and dining is Penn Yan, about 20 minutes away and gas stations are rare between Watkins Glen and Penn Yan.
Thank you, Anthony family, for sharing this terrific home. We had a wonderful time and are already talking about when we might visit again!

We enjoyed the property and stay, however, trash was left over from the previous group and animals got into the bins.
Trash was supposed to be picked up during our stay and never was, so we had many full garbage cans and trash spread out around the shed from animals.
The house and grounds also needed some basic maintenance. Light bulbs were burnt out, weeds were all around the property, doors didn’t close all the way, fire pit furniture was falling apart, etc…
The lakefront view was beautiful and the yards were spacious.
Two of the three bathrooms were attached to bedrooms, so really only one bathroom available to guest not staying in rooms with attached baths.

This was the best rental I have ever stayed at. There is so much to do and the property is so secluded you feel like you are in your own world. It was clean and honestly nicer than the pictures. The outdoor space cannot be beat.

We chose Anthony's house for 3 reasons, they allow a dog, it is on the lake and they allowed us to have our sons wedding rehearsal party there. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect entertaining venue. Every day of our stay we had friends and family flowing through to visit since many are from various states. Having the huge dining room table, screened in porch with tons of seating and best of all the fire pit, nobody wanted to leave. Also very convenient to all areas around the lake. We only had 5 to 7 staying at the house depends mg on the night but could easily hold 15 to 20.
Only issues we had which I only post for info of the manager is more light is needed in living room and none of the remotes worked even after changing batteries. Anyone reading can see that if that's the negatives, Anthony's house is a great place. We will definitely stay again sometime in the future

Very spacious property, perfect to enjoy the lake and big yard with a gorgeous view! Not far from many wonderful wineries. Host was great to work with.

Million dollar view! Anthony’s big house was so spacious and charming. Perfect location, just minutes from numerous wineries and beautiful Watkins Glenn. Brian was very accommodating and promptly answered all questions. House was clean, came with everything we needed and had a ton of fun activities on the property. Great trip, great memories, can’t wait to go back!

This house is very much "as advertised" - amazing views and plenty of space for a large group!! We had a group of friends stay for an extended weekend and this was the perfect location, quiet and off the beaten path, but still close to breweries, wineries and golf if you decide to venture out. The firepit and views were amazing!

The pictures really don't do this place justice. We stayed here for a girls trip where we spent the majority of the time on the property and doing some wine tours. We were in a great location to explore most of the area, about 20 min to Geneva, 20 min to Watkins Glen and very close to a number of wineries. The views at the property were amazing and there was plenty of space for a large group to be comfortable. Will definitely be returning during our next visit to the area.
4.7
Please note that there are only 2 window air conditions for the whole house. One is down stairs and one in upstairs room (both in bedrooms). Rest of the rooms have table fans. It can be rough if the weather is too hot or humid. Lake access is great. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean.

Hit the spot dir a family reunion and gathering.

We completely enjoyed every aspect of our stay. This was our 20th reunion of staying on the lake and this property certainly made it memorable. We did have a massive rain event which required quite a bit of cleanup , however,we were able to laugh, cry and enjoy.

Just returned from a 1 week stay at Anthony’s house on Seneca Lake. Great location within a few minutes of Penn Yan and a few minutes more to Geneva or Watkins Glen. Close to some of the best wineries in the Finger Lakes. The house has a beautiful yard front and back, a lovely patio with fire pit overlooking the lake, and plenty of room. It is very private and quiet. Nice dock with a canoe, rowboat, and plenty of water toys. Well equipped kitchen, especially loved the Belgian waffle iron.

Anthony's big House was a warm and welcoming retreat for our family reunion with grandkids and our children post-Covid. The home is charming and reflects the love and care of the owner -family. The house sits high on an expanse overlooking Lake Seneca. The stairs down to the dock are sturdy. The best part of the house is the large screened in porch that runs the east side of the house. It was the gathering place for morning coffee and watching the sun rise, afternoon chess games, and evening music and conversation. The fire-pit is a wonderful addition. The house is situated away from others and is very private. It was a magical get-together with our family, and truly heaven on earth.

We had such a memorable time at this huge and charming lake house! The views from the fire pit are unbeatable, and the location is close to many great wineries and hiking areas. My husband left a family necklace at the house, and the house manager had mailed it back to us, for which we are so appreciative. The house manager was very responsive and it was an amazing experience overall.

Fantastic home that was perfect for a gathering place following a celebration of life service. Really enjoyed everything about this home: screened porch, dining room, living room, kitchen, fire pit…
It is obvious, this home was meant for large families and family gatherings. Large dining room table, enough forks to feed a small army and plenty of plates to go along with it. Given we are in wine country and the size of the house and number of guests, the house could use some restock of wine and drink glasses. The house was generally clean upon arrival.
The lodge living room is amazing and really adds character to the home. Thank you Anthony family with sharing it

Great location and plenty of space for the family to enjoy the Finger Lakes. Family loved the outdoor amenities! Overall cleanliness of the rental could have been better and kitchen utensils are dated.

Brian was incredible. Everything about this property was exactly as written and spoken about. VERY IMPRESSIVE!! we cannot wait for our next trip!

This was a terrific place for my family of 15 to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. We all love a lake atmosphere and being able to get together. Kids are getting older so having so many separate sleeping rooms was perfect. The large, very large dining room table made dinners delightful. Having a full size fridge for beverages for all the different tastes was so helpful. The dock and outdoor facilities were perfect too. The only thing for owners to check on was the two fridges were not as cold as they could be and kitchen freezer was iffy on ice cream but these are easy things to check into. My mother was over the moon loving the place's decor as it reminded her of her memories of cottages in Canada. We are very happy and appreciative of being able to stay at Anthony's Big House!!

Beautiful spacious property! Loved the large dining room, yard, and firepit! Would love to stay here again.

Our niece was married at the Belhurst Castle, we used this house as a guest house for family that came in from out of town for the wedding. It worked great! Plenty of room...house is set up nicely for a crowd. Thank you!

Got together with a few other families for a long weekend here. This place was perfect! Had the right amount of rustic feel with modern amenities. The kids loved running around and playing on the property. The adults couldn’t get enough of the fire pit outside with the most amazing lake views. Will be returning!

Fantastic place with everything you need for a large group to stay on Seneca. We Had a great time at Anthony’s plenty of place for 12 adults. Dock was in great for swimming and kayaking around the lake. Thanks for a great stay!
