Despite the fact that Mother Nature did not cooperate, staying at O'Brien's house made up for that. The house is spacious, clean and has fantastic views. Phil was so accommodating and made us feel quite welcome. We would absolutely recommend staying here.

This is our 2nd time time renting this house and once again we had a great experience. This house is roomy, close to beaches and town, and has amazing harbor views. The hosts are available and very responsive to any questions. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit.

Magical week! 3minute stroll to the beach… unobstructed sunset/sunrise views… open space for our little kids to play. We will be back!

Our family (grandparents, adult children, grandson & 2 little dogs) loved staying at this cozy, historic farmhouse for an extended weekend. The front porch facing the bay is perfect for relaxing, reading & just visiting. We loved the large lawn and easy, beautiful walk to the beach & town. The hosts were gracious & very responsive.

Loved the beachy vibe of this beautiful family home on top of a gentle grassy hill with wild flowers and drop dead views. Walk to everything!

We had a wonderful experience staying at this property. The house was large, clean, had comfy mattresses, and had everything we needed for a week long stay. The porch overlooking the harbor was amazing at anytime of the day, and the location of the property was very convenient with respect to the beaches and town. We liked this property so much that we already booked it for a return trip next season.

A mixed experience: Wonderful location, beach access and view! The lovely host family made us feel welcome and made an effort to stock the kitchen with requested items However, certain kitchen basics were lacking. and cleanliness and comfort were variable. The downstairs bedroom (which our group needed) was inadequate due to the condition of the sofa bed and musty odor.

Fabulous owners! Made great memories! Super spacious and location couldn’t be better! Only negatives were kitchen wasn’t stocked very well with serving pieces, dishwasher only had bottom rack and pulled out from the counter, and below the kitchen sink had a bad odor. Also saw some mold on the ceilings in some parts of the house. Could use some updating. Thanks sooo very much for your hospitality:)

This house is in the perfect spot! Porch was unbelievable for sunsets and the short walk to the beach was ideal. Kids and dog loved the large lawn. It's an old house, so there are some old house things- doors that don't shut tightly, etc... but overall we were so wowed by the location that everything else was an afterthought. Check in couldn't have been easier and communication was a breeze. Thank you!

My wife and I and our dog stayed here over Thanksgiving week. Kirsten was extremely helpful and responsive. The check in and out process was great and they were very flexible with regard to ferry times. Beautiful location with great views of the bay and across the street from the beaches. The house is old and charming and well furnished. The property could use some updates but we would definitely stay here again. The communication with Kirsten was so helpful and made us feel welcome.

This rental was amazing. We have been staying on Block Island for 34 years. The location was incredibly convenient, the views were stunning. Kirsten was extremely helpful and kind, and we had plenty of space for our entire group. The check in and out process was super easy, and the house was clean and had all of the necessary ammenities. Can not say enough how much we enjoyed this property!

The location was great. The house was perfect for us, very roomy comfortable. It would have been nice to have an outdoor shower to keep the dirt and sand from coming into the house otherwise, great !!!

It is a great place for my family to stay. We have rented for 3 years. Plenty of room and a big yard and ocean view. Owners are very responsive to questions.

You really can’t beat the views of both the sunrise over the ocean and sunset over the harbor from the wrap around porch. There’s plenty of living space and the open kitchen to dining room make large meals seamless. This is our second time renting from these owners and the process is uncomplicated and reliable. We had a great stay!

This was the second year that we have stayed at this property and it was even more enjoyable as the last. Perfect for my family. The owners are great and respond very quickly (not that we had problems) just some general questions. Great porch to sit and have coffee in the morning and sunsets at night. Big yard for the kids to play and easy walk to the beach. What more could you want.

We had the most amazing week in block island- the homestead was just a short walk across the street to scotch beach, and had fabulous sunsets over great salt pond - we would recommend this house and definitely hope to return to stay again!

My brother and I grew up going to Block Island, so we decided to bring both of our families to experience its MAGIC. The house we stayed at was in a perfect location. We were right across from a beach and could bike to all of our site seeing locations. The owners of the home were quick to answer any of our questions. Our two families of 8 were perfectly comfortable in this beautiful home inside as well as outside on the spacious wrap around porch. I highly recommend this property!!

My family rented the house for the week of my cousin’s wedding at the Sullivan house. In addition to being super convenient, the house was perfect for a family with young kids as there was plenty of room to run around outside, puzzles for rainy days, and gorgeous sunset views. Kristen was super communicative and accomodating. We will be back!!

The location was perfect since our son got married at the Sullivan House. Also being across the street from the beach was wonderful. The views of the great salt pond were terrific. Lots of bedrooms allowed us to host extra family. Although only one bathroom on the 2nd floor can be challenging. It wasn't the cleanest, but clearly it had the Block Island charm. We were very happy with the house.

My family had a wonderful vacation renting this property. The house has nice size rooms so everyone could have their own space if needed. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen works well for large families but the best things are the fabulous views, wonderful large porch and being able to walk to the beach. Also has a large yard for the kids to play & run around. Everything we were hoping for. Can't wait to go back. Also Kirsten the owner was always available if you had a question.

My husband and I spent a week with friends and family at this beautiful home! It was absolutely perfect for what we wanted...a house with ample space for guests (sleeps 10 if you 2 on the pull out), a nice big kitchen for cooking, a beautiful wrap around porch with a grill, and best of all....an amazing yard and view of new harbor and great salt pond! The house is no frills but has great charm and is exactly what we wanted in a vacation home. We walked to the beach from there and used our paddle board in the salt pond. Kristen and her husband were so sweet and accommodating, and respond quickly if there are any questions. The neighboring house is very close (shared driveway), but we respected each other’s privacy and space and it was not an issue for us. Our dog loved the beautiful yard most! I am hoping we will have the chance to stay again in the future!

Be careful as you approach this house. Driveway is unpaved and deeply rutted. The long grass in middle of the driveway was not mowed making it difficult to see the bumps. Before we even reached the house, we had damaged the undercarriage of our older model van. (Subsequent trips made very carefully.) Arrived to find house filled with the overpowering smell of propane which persisted (albeit, somewhat diminished) even after tank was filled the next day which owner said would resolve problem. Windows must always remain open to mitigate odor. Stairs are treacherous for older people. No closets are entirely empty—a jumble of personal items stored within every one. Foldout bed in office is not suitable for sleeping on due to very prominent springs in this mattress. Only bathtub was running constantly, occasionally emitting gunk as we filled it to bathe the baby. (Owners said they would come and replace fixtures, but this never happened.) Toilet in tiny upstairs bathroom emits a high-pitched squeal almost every time it is flushed. Windows only have sheer curtains, no shades for darkening or true privacy. Kitchen is not well-equipped if you are planning to cook as we did. Some very basic tools are missing and the older propane stove that is producing the smell that permeates the house, also does not function particularly well. Some of the pots and pans are stored in broken lazy-Susan cabinets making items hard or impossible to reach. Another house is located just a few feet away from this one and there is constant activity there with many people coming and going all day in a pick-up truck which is parked right outside the dining room windows. (It seems there is a wedding business on the property and some of the activity is related to this.) There is some quiet and stillness at this house in the evening, but the daytime activity is pretty constant and detracts from sense of privacy. Porch is lovely, but there is a hot tub that dominates with its cover held down by many straps that often vibrate noisily in the wind. In addition, there was a fair amount of trash and abandoned artifacts around the porch, even a old can of bug spray. Paint is peeling all around porch, but most especially on the floor which is a big concern for children playing there. Best features of this house: glorious views of ocean, harbor, sunrises, sunsets, boats, field of golden, long grass glistening in the sun and waving in the wind & very convenient location.

This house is more of a home away from home. From the incredibly responsive host, to the beautiful large rooms and gorgeous views, this is truly an idyllic place to stay on Block island. Close to beaches and town, yet set back enough that you have peace. We have come with friends, and their family and it has been a perfect spot we hope to visit again in the future!

Every.thing was very nice. The size of the house accommodated our family for a wedding perfectly. The location and view were outstanding. The chickens were cute and friendly.

We really enjoyed the property. Spacious quiet and setback from the road but convenient to town. What a beautiful view between the salt pond and ocean beaches. Kirsten was helpful and accommodating and my group looks forward to coming back.
