We again enjoyed every aspect or staying at A Shire Thong. We look forward to a return visit

The house was large, well equipped and in a great location. Our group of 13 could spread out and gather together easily.

This house is perfect for a multi-family vacation! Loved that almost each room had its own private bathroom! The pinball machine and hot tub were the biggest hits! Awesome to be able to bring our boat. The neighborhood was serene! We will definitely be back!

Had a great time. Plenty of room. Grandkids loved the canal and game room. Ben is great to work with! We did miss the big pool table.

There were 14 of us aged 8-64. My siblings and nephew all came from the west coast. I rented a kayak and bikes, but there was plenty to do at the house already. With the game room and the dock. The kids fished and caught crabs. The house accommodated everyone. I was under the impression I needed to rent linens, but the house comes with linens and towels. Ben was great from the very start. He answered all my questions. I will definitely stay here again. Rent this house, you will not be disappointed.

Our stay was great! There was enough space for us to be together and to be apart! Loved the access to the water/canal. We rented a pontoon boat, it was great to be able to have it for several days with having a dock. The beach was a very short ride and the beach itself was great!
We were able to cook our meals with plenty of available cook ware-9 adults, 2 teenagers and 3 toddlers. Would love to return here!! The only downside was the dryer did not work but it was not really an issue because there was plenty of space to hang the wash!!

House was a great location. Neighborhood was lovely. Bathroom for every room. Size and layout were perfect for our large group.
Needed some updates- scuffed paint, loose bannisters, plumbing issues, water leaks.
Owner was very helpful with sending repair staff for plumbing fix.

This property continues to be maintained well. Our group stayed at this location every year for 15 years. It's as good as its ever been. The kitchen equipment showed some improvements this year. We will totally stay again.

Very spacious home, kids loved the game room, kitchen was large enough for our family to cook and visit, nice location

Perfect for large family
The property was exactly what was listed. Only thing I wish the listing said was that you need to provide your own linens. I didn't realize that until after I booked.
We had 12 people stay in the rental (Myself & my husband, and then 10 kids ranging from 20 years - 6 months), there was plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen had everything you could imagine needing. The kids loved going out back and catching sealife...we saw crabs, clams, horseshoe crabs, jellyfish and many other little creatures. It was a perfect place for my family!

House was large enough to comfortably accommodate everyone. The back deck was a lot of fun for beautiful view and for crabbing. Location was not too far down ocean city hustle but was also a bit more private for some more low key beach time.

We stayed in the offseason (March), so much of the town activities were not there. House was solid, had plenty of cookware, grill, 2 large tables for dinners. Plenty of rooms and bedrooms, tvs in all the bedrooms, wifi, pool, fusbal. Pretty much everything we were looking for in a large rental.

Another Year, Another Great Week at A SHORE THING! Our family of 14 again really enjoyed our week from July 26th – Aug 2nd at A Shore Thing. We have always found Ben, the owner, to be responsive and flexible to our needs and requests. The property was immaculate upon our arrival. The new refrigerator and washing machine are terrific and plenty big enough for a group as large as ours. We brought an inflatable children’s pool that we put on the deck and was enjoyed by both kids and parents. Being so close we did a variety of things during the week. A couple times with the crew on the Maryland beach opposite the Fenwick. A couple times we enjoyed the waterpark just up the road first thing in the morning when it was easy to maintain social distancing. One night we carried in some excellent Mexican food from a hopping Papa Grandes just across Lighthouse Road. One morning a gourmet breakfast at Bayside Skillet where they had their patrons separated in a beautiful setting. All easily done because A Shore Thing is in such an excellent location. Could not have asked for a better experience for the second year in a row.

A Shore Thing is a large, convenient and well-furnished beach house made perfectly for our group of guys who enjoy basketball, board games, beach walking, and great home cooking (baby-back ribs and a few beers). My group comes every year, and the owner is extremely helpful in making our stay comfortable. And the owner makes several improvements from year to year to make the whole place a bit more comfortable. We love our get-away weekend there. Len

A great bay-side property for our extended family
We had a great time at a Shore Thing. The place was nicer than we expected and my family had a great time there. The location was wonderful. Sunsets on the water were amazing.

Great Experience
Our entire family of 14 really enjoyed our week from July 21st – 28th at A Shore Thing. We found the property to be very clean, fully equipped & operational and of course the location simply can’t be beat. We had plenty of room, (including parking) never felt crowded and you could find a quiet spot to go off by yourself to read a book or shoot some pool. At the same time the gathering areas around the kitchen and the large TV’s were designed to hold most everyone. Also, we had enough table space to sit everyone down for dinner and to carry on with large card games later in the evening. Not even including the two picnic tables on the screened-in deck.
The couple of times when we needed Ben, the owner, we had no trouble at all reaching him. The first night there we accidentally blew a fuse and needed a code to access the garage and the fuse box. Despite it being late in the evening, Ben was very responsive and back to us with the answer in minutes. Ditto later in the week when some of the family accidentally locked some other of us out of the house during the day! They were good though and had properly secured all the other entrances to the house! A text to Ben and, again, minutes later he was back to us with the answer. He has absolutely been an excellent landlord to us since the moment we booked September of last year.
The family has rented houses for vacation in the Outer Banks for over 20 years and loved it. The drive and the traffic finally got to us. A Shore Thing has been one of the very best experiences we’ve had. So, we have already booked it for vacation next summer!

Loved it!
We had a wonderful time. Grandchildren loved crabbing in the canal and we took a paddle boat and they loved using it in the canal. Very roomy. Ben was very good at getting back to me if we had a question. We loved the game room. We all had a great time

Beautiful home
A group of 12 family and friends stayed for a mini getaway. This home is very spacious with plenty of things to do. Daniel was very responsive to all my questions. We would have loved to use the hot tub but was notified that it was closed during check in.

Great Location, Not Clean!
First, the Pros:
1. Lots of room for our families to spread out.
2. Lots of TVs for everyone (the one in the alcove on the second floor did not have the Comcast remote and was not usable
3. The pier out back provided hours of fun for the two teenage grandsons (crabbing and fishing)
4. Great game room
5. Great location
The Cons:
1. The cleaning service is not cleaning the place and if there is a management company, they are not inspecting for needed maintenance. We did not use the hot tub or jetted tub because with the cleanliness issues below, we were afraid they were not fully disinfected:
a. Black moldy and/or dirty vents - e.g., we had to spray Lysol around the vent in the third floor master bedroom and try to wipe off as much mold as possible out of concern for the mold blowing over the head of the bed (moldy vent in 3rd floor bathroom), visible dirt on every vent in every room.
b. My daughters wiped down cobwebs and visible dirt between the island lights and ceiling in the kitchen, the coffee pot filter basket was moldy and required cleaning prior to use.
c. Thick dust around frames in bathrooms, my girls cleaned them
d. Oven does not come up to temperature, so it is unusable
e. Third floor master bathroom, right sink - the cold water faucet does not work
f. Some Charley bars missing from the sliding glass doors so the house is not secured
g. Bed pads visibly dirty - we all cleaned our pads prior to use - there was visible blood stains and yellow stains
h. Some kitchen chairs are unstable and seem ready to break
i. Fireplace does not work
j. Kitchen pans - the Teflon is so scratched that they are not safe to use and there was not a sharp knife to be found
k. One pier board is so warped it is a tripping hazard
l. Moldy smell on the first and third floors
m. Not all lights are working
n. The shower outside had a missing shower head and the water flow was so forceful, we could not rinse the children off prior to bathing them inside
o. In the second floor alcove, the end table was broken and unusable.
p. Water damage on ceilings
q. We had to move a dresser and bed - there was debris, headbands, flip flops, etc.
The instructions in the kitchen said to get a permit for parking, but the permit is $120 and is not needed for parking at the beaches below the Delaware side of Fenwick.

great house for group of 11
We we're unfortunate enough to have our stay during what seemed like a monsoon, so we didn't have great weather for venturing out. Luckily, the house was perfect for such circumstance. Lots of games, pool, pinball, foosball. Our last day we had a break in the rain and finally enjoyed the deck a bit. We did have one window on the first floor leak A LOT during the storm but aside from that everything else was pretty great. We really enjoyed our stay and may be back.

Fantastic property. So much fun
Great location. Comfy beds and well maintained. Loved my stay here! Will be returning soon.

Bachelor Party Headquarters
We had an excellent stay. There was plenty of room for 12 adults. The pool table, foosball table, and pinball machine was well used as well as the TVs and kitchen. The rear porches and back deck was comfortable and inviting. We rented a boat from Island Watersports and used the dock to allow passengers on and off. The wet bar downstairs was also an excellent touch for our needs.
The only problem we had was the hot tub wasn't ready for our trip, but we still had a great time.

disappointed
Stayed at this house in August 2016. Was very disappointed. The pool table and hot tub were the drawl for us. Upon arrival we discovered that there were no pool balls and the hot tub was full of sand. We called owner, thinking he would send someone out to at least clean the hot tub and he did not. As far as the pool balls, we were told "they were there before" when we arrived at check in time the cleaning people were still there. The sliding glass doors were filthy and we had to ask for the cleaning people to clean them, because they were leaving and hadn't cleaned them. I could go on about cleanliness in the home, but I believe it would take up too much room. Ice maker doesn't work, and during our walk threw in the winter we let the owner know that, and in August, still wasn't working. All though we had a wonderful time, the house needs some freshening up.
