About this bed and breakfast
Look no further, your search for the perfect DC vacation spot is complete! After top-to-bottom renovation in the 1990’s- and then another in May 2017-this separate 2 bedroom historic space on Mass Ave NE originally built in the 1880’s offers everything on your list of must-haves: historic charm, modern comfort, and an extremely convenient location in the heart of Historic Capitol Hill, next to Stanton Park, blocks from the Senate, Capitol, Library of Congress, Supreme Court, shops, restaurants, and Whole Foods.
Located on the street level comfortably sleeps 6 adults with 2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Space is about 1,000 square feet, a King Bed in the master suite, new queen bed in 2nd bedroom; a modern and fully equipped kitchen; large glass dining room table; and a LED HDTV TV with high-speed wireless internet. 2 outdoor spaces
Its location is within walking distance of everything you need and want to see: the National Mall, Whole Foods, H Street, Trader Joe’s and Lincoln Park, but there are also two Metro stops within a 10 minute walk (Eastern Market and Union Station) and several bus stops within a block. I highly recommend the bus tours that run out of Union Station as well.
Our neighborhood is quiet and residential, home to Members of Congress and their families, yet only blocks away from the city’s political epicenter and a multitude of restaurants, bars, coffee-houses and shopping, everything DC has to offer will be at your doorstep!
PARKING: On-street parking requires a zoned parking permit, which is provided free of charge for guests to park one vehicle during their stay upon request. Parking for additional vehicles is available less than 4 blocks away at a 24-hour access surface lot for around $15 per day. PLEASE REQUEST PARKING PASS WHEN MAKING YOUR RESERVATION.
Check In: Keypad lock at front door for self check in.

Close to Mall and museums. Nice spot. Neighborhood seemed safe and parking was easy, but make sure that you go through the process to reserve the parking pass in advance, as you'll need to go to a website and print off the pass. Eric easy to work with.

We stayed in 2 od the owner's apartments for our DC trip due to a maintenance issue. It involved us having to move during our trip but it really wasn't inconvenient at all. We were so grateful that Eric was able to handle the very last minute and unexpected situation so easily and both of the apartments worked out well for us. The Capitol Hill neighborhood had everything we needed and is so convenient to many of the popular places to visit in the city. We also took advantage of the parking pass and didn't have any issues finding a parking space during our stay.

Great home in an amazing neighborhood! So close to the capital but we felt like locals and not tourists! Found great places to eat and walk. Wish I could have stayed closer !

We arrived the place was a ground floor apartment which is fine we sat on the couch and suddenly a RAT jumped on the window! My mother in law in her 70’s screamed!
The garage bins were next to the window so a rat that I later found out was living in the bushes must have been chilling in the bins.
I contacted the host and NO response. After 4 hours I contacted VRBO that was also unable to contact the host.
We booked a hotel and left.
Now I’m fighting with VRBO to get my money back since the host is not responding at all.
VRBO should be more helpful.
The money for the booking should be placed in an escrow and released to the owner once the stay is complete. This is ridiculous! I paid so much.

I highly recommend this property! It was just as the pictures showed - very clean and updated with all the conveniences provided. Quick walk to food and sights. The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful. Would definitely come back here!

We had a wonderful time in a beautiful place, but never received the parking pass. There was parking right in front of house but I never got the pass. Besides that trip was perfect
4.7
My teenage daughter and I were able to stay here and used the proximity to Union Station to travel by metro to see all the sites without a car. Nice property and neighborhood!

Loved our time in DC - the location was wonderful and we felt very safe in the area. Would recommend!

Can’t beat the location of this property. Walking distance to all important points in DC.

The apartment is lovely and easy to access.

It was a great place to stay. Close to a lot of must sees. Very clean and nice. Would definitely recommend anyone staying.

This property was perfect for our family, traveling with kids. We really appreciated the easy street parking and it was so easy to get to all the museums and monuments by bus or walking. Playground right across the street, pack n play included, kid-friendly restaurant recommendations. The place was clean. Owners were extremely responsive when we had questions. Thanks for a great stay!

If you’re looking for a place with all the access and still some privacy/relaxation, this spot is perfect. We toured DC easily on foot and via the bike rentals. Both methods were super easy; the bikes were just faster and more fun (esp for our kids). The property manager was on top of every question we had. And their recommendations for breakfast spots and places to explore in the neighborhood were fabulous. I’d stay here again on my next visit!

Property was in a great neighborhood. Easy walk to union station. All amenities worked beautifully. Beds were comfortable and property was clean. Make sure you watch steps leading to property door, very easy to trip and fall due to poor lighting if arriving in the dark. Overall would highly recommend for friends and families.

This was a great place for four adults to use as a base to enjoy all of the DC highlights. Eric was a great communicator and very accommodating! Easy access to the Union Station Metro red line stop.

Great location and fantastic contact with owners. Would definitely stay here again.

My family and I enjoyed our stay. Clean place. Nice, friendly neighborhood.

Missing amenities for kitchen but ideal location

This house was very clean and comfortable and easily within walking distance to a lot of the main attractions around Washington. The master bed was enormous(California king??) We had 2 teenage boys with us, 1 slept in the second bedroom and 1 on the couch with no complaints. There are also some good local bars and coffee shops within 3 blocks. If we decide to visit again in the future I would definitely consider staying here again

The rental was perfect for our family of four. The neighborhood is vibrant and close to lots of things. Our only issue was the mosquitos. I think due to the time of year and being the lower apartment. The mosquitos would chase us in, no matter how quick we were getting in the door and then we would spend some time battling them. We all managed to acquire quite a few bites, but in the end we prevailed.

Flat perfectly located for exploring the Mall area.

Traveled to DC for daughters college graduation- and added extra days for fun in the city. This was a perfect place- Clean, Room for six of us (though I recommend four due to the one bathroom). Had plenty of questions, mostly regarding the area, for the host and they were always responsive and helpful. Location is in walking distance of Capital Hill and the surrounds. Only positive memories about this rental.

Great place! Great location to walk to the DC fireworks. You can get to pretty much every tourist spot for a $12 uber. A few great restaurants are a close walk.
4.7
Entrance to property had strong odor of dog urine and over powering fragrance. Inside had a plug-in machine room refreshener, I’m very sensitive to fragrances and needed to air out room. The master bedroom TV remote did not work. The shower nozzle was broken. Shower floor very slippery without a mat and shower drain DIY patchwork. Coffee machine was left on by previous and burning pot upon arrival. Dust on kitchen appliance. Cobwebs on windows and rain damage on sills. Felt dirty. Pillows lumpy and uncomfortable.
We were happy with price and close proximity to historic sights and great restaurants!! Parking was very convenient without additional cost. Firm well cushioned mattresses, great nite sleep.
For two nights, it was practical for us. It was disappointing that very simple fixed were not taken care of to be VRBO-ready.

This apartment was perfect for our site seeing needs. My husband and I stayed in the queen bedroom and our 3 boys (12-17) shared the King. There was a fold down sofa at the front of the apartment we could have used, but we enjoyed having this area for tv time after the kids went to bed. We parked on the street when we arrived and put the parking pass we printed on the dash. We didn’t move the car until it was time to head home. We walked everywhere , to the Smithsonian museums a couple of the days and walked to the metro a few times as well. The walk to the metro is pretty short. We shopped at trader joes and loved visiting the Eastern Market on the weekend. There is also a corner store market on the opposite side of Stanton park that is super easy to get to. The street is quiet and beautiful. I felt very safe. We enjoyed sitting on the front bench and sharing a glass of wine after a long day of site seeing.

We had a lovely stay on the Hill at Eric's apartment. Eric is a great host, responded almost immediately to our questions. The apartment is very comfortable and close to Eastern Market, The Mall, restaurants and several supermarkets.

Very nice little place to stay with plenty of room for two friends. Super easy walking distance to the tourist stuff and to lots of food options. Was also just a lovely neighborhood to walk around in the evenings.

We stayed 4 nights. The location was great and unit was very comfortable. It was just what we wanted.

We really loved the convenient and relatively safe location of this apartment. A 10-15 walk from two metro stations and multiple bus lines just around the corner.
4.7
Had a great weekend with my bro and friend exploring Capitol Hill. Great location for a short walk to a lot of great food and entertainment.
4.7
Excellent location, wonderful communication, very comfortable atmosphere.
4.7
The property was exactly as listed and had everything we needed. We used the kitchen to cook our meals for breakfast and dinner. The walk to Union Station took us about 15 minutes and from there we could take the circulator bus or metro everywhere we needed to go. We highly recommend this property if you enjoy feeling like you are part of the community rather than in a far off hotel.

Such a lovely apartment! I used to live in the neighborhood and had not been back in over a decade, so was thrilled to see exciting changes to the area and some favorites still the same like Eastern Market food hall. The unit is cozy, tastefully decorated, and fully stocked with everything for a short or longer term stay. Comfortable beds and quick heating system if you need it. Responsive, friendly hosts. The location is fantastic, a short walk to many restaurants. This is a real taste of living in the area and I would be happy to return!
4.7
Perfect for a family of four. Easy walk to capital and all the museums. We will be back.

There was confusion the moment we arrived that can easily be addressed. Only the address, not the unit, was listed on the check in page of VRBO. We took the red eye flight and pulled up at midnight in the rain and went right up the stairs and tried to get into the wrong apartment. Yikes! My family noticed a unit under the stairs, and I had to search elsewhere on VRBO app to find "under the stairs." An easy fix, add Unit B to the address.
But once in, we were met with a beautiful, spacious unit with filtered water in the fridge. That was so appreciated!!! We all drank up and filled the pitcher. It was also wonderful to be able to wash our clothes after a flight. We all showered and crashed. The location to Capitol Hill and National Mall was fantastic, and we ubered everywhere because I'm disabled. We spent $45 a day on uber but capable walkers wouldn't need to uber as much. Nearly all facilities and museums offered wheelchairs, which allowed me to participate in the family adventure.
Kitchen was perfect size for our needs. After a trip to trader Joes for our breakfast and prepackaged lunch & dinners, my son made scrambled eggs every morning, and we packed our lunches daily and ate dinner in to save on dining out.
In the evening, the four of us watched movies (set in DC) , and we were comfy in the fold out couch and two big chairs. It was so great and rare to spend time with my teen boys.
Each room could set the heat to the person's liking, which was a bonus.
However the unit should not be given top scores for cleanliness since there is water damage, so much that a scent machine is plugged in to try and cover the smell. I'm allergic to mold and had multiple asthma attacks.
Water damage can be seen on the ceiling in most rooms and should be addressed. But the first to be addressed and easiest is the drywall around the washer and dryer. Pull out the washer/dryer, remove rotting drywall, and replace with cement board or other mold resistant drywall.
Replace the scent machine with air purifier in each room. Blue air is a good, affordable brand.

The neighborhood was great. The location to public transportation was perfect. You can tell somethings (finishings) were home diy projects during the rehab but I can’t hold that against the place. Knowing we have more still to do in the DC area I would have no problem booking this location again.
4.7
We had a great time. The apartment is in a superb location. All of our party were very happy in the property

Location of property is best asset. We walked to everything. A little short on plates and glasses and cups if you plan to cook in. Beds are comfortable.
