About this cabin rental
Camp Festivus is a unique 1926 Vintage cabin that has been thoughtfully restored, featuring a stone (Steiner) fireplace, reclaimed barnwood and 6 person hot tub all on a private creekside acre.
Challenge your nerve by swimming in Clear Creek or relax in the hot tub over looking the water. Indulge your inner slug, grab a book and read in the hammock.
Feeling lucky, you can try fishing in the back yard or walk across the street to see if they are biting in the Sandy river. Afterwards you can cook up what you catch at the outdoor fire pit or grill on our new Weber Connect, then fall asleep to the sound of water or gaze at the old growth trees or creek view from every window.
You can throw down your gear or tune your bike or skis in our large heated mudroom, and toast s'mores out back or come inside and listen to your favorite music via Spotify or watch a movie on one of our flat screen TV's. Do you want a bit more privacy for the adults, then the kids can go down to the comfy TV room with flat screen, dvd player and stereo, there are tons of pillows and fold out mats to relax, watch movies, or listen to music.
The iron and woodwork and much of the furniture have been custom designed and produced to maximize the beauty of the cabin as well as the surrounding area.
Camp Festivus, a place you can rest(ivus).

This place is amazing! Gorgeous historical cabin in a very convenient place to explore the Mt Hood area. The property is so gorgeous and the creek was beautiful. We loved the deck and hearing the creek at night when you are sleeping is so relaxing, I got the best sleep! The grill was so nice we cooked so much good food and had the best time just playing in the creek and catching minnows. The kids played badminton and played in the creek then we warmed up in the hot tub. I cant say enough about how great this place is. The bathrooms are all remodeled nicely with even a bidet! So fancy and unexpected. We cant wait to go back!

My husband and I have been to Festivus a few times before and it has always been wonderful! This time we were there during a heat wave and even though the place doesn't have AC we were just fine. There are plenty of box fans and the house is totally in shade. The creek is so lovely and there are plenty of lakes nearby to keep us cool during the day. Jeff replied promptly when we needed him and even dropped off a charger we had left

This is one of favorite spots to get away too. From swinging in the hammock to listening to the creek. This place has everything including a hot tub and with the new renovation the fanciest toilet seats I've ever sat on. The cabin sits perfectly between the neighbors so you aren't on top of anyone. Very very quiet neighborhood.

We love this place! Quiet, beautiful, relaxing. Hike during the day and relax in the hot tub in the evening. This was our second time renting the cabin...we'll be back!

Loved relaxing and feeding all the beautiful birds occupying the property, especially the two geese and their two goslings. Our little Zippy got all excited to see the deer wandering around. Found wonderful BBQ just up the street and yummy chicken and dumplings just down the street. As always we had a quiet, relaxing stay.

Everything was provided to enjoy your stay. Party of 5 and plenty of room. The only drawbacks were a very firm mattress in the master bedroom, and the small refrigerator. If you want to experience a slice of Mt Hood history stay here!

We stayed at this cabin while we skied over the weekend. The stone fireplace was epic, we loved using it along with the hot tub for apres ski. The kitchen was well equipped to cook meals. Beds were cozy. We had a wonderful time and also enjoyed the Seinfeld references scattered throughout. The host was very accommodating with a late checkout - much appreciated!

We love Camp Festivus! We’ve stayed here before and had a wonderful time every time at Camp Festivus! Place is beautiful, great stream in the back yard, hottub, plenty of space, all you need in the kitchen, really a gem! Host is super friendly and helpful! We will be back!

We enjoyed the great view of the creek, the Jacuzzi, the well equipped kitchen, and the fireplace, but the beds were very uncomfortable and the cabin is not suitable for people who have mobility issues.

Lovely time with family. Very comfortable but could use some updated furniture and a better master bathroom shower.

We had such a good time. Zippy loves playing in the yard. This time he got to see his first crawdad and the biggest salamanders we have ever seen. He also enjoyed watching the baby trout swimming around. This is one of our favorite places in the world.

Spent a wonderful week at this gem of a house in the woods. Lots to see and do and the house was very well equipped. Thank you!

The cabin is charmingly rustic and comfortable. We spent the majority of our time on the porch relaxing with a view of the creek and listening to its soothing sounds as it bubbled over the rocks. And when we weren't on the porch we were down at the water or lounging in the hammock. The location is ideal - private, but close to everything. We truly enjoyed our time there.

An excellent base of operations to enjoy Mount Hood, and get away for a little.

My friends and I could not get over how gorgeous this property is. It is the perfect place for a private, cozy weekend amidst the most lush PNW forest. The house is lovely and we had plenty of space for a group of 7 and a small dog. We WILL be back!!
Host were also very quick to respond with questions and had thoughtful tips and instructions in the property book. We love camp festivus!!!

Camp Festivus is an almost perfect fusion of rustic and modern. The setting is so spectacular we hardly spent much time indoors. When we did, it was very comfortable and the kitchen appliances are excellent. Camp Festivus is also located conveniently near many beautiful trailheads. Ramona Falls is a lovely day hike and Zig Zag falls only takes about an hour. Our whole family (5 adults and 2 doggos) really enjoyed our stay. Camp Festivus for the Rest of Us! Thank you!!

Camp Festivus was absolutely perfect and everything we could have ever wanted!! We spent the entire time outside from morning until night! Being steps away from the creek made it so we could hear it running anywhere from the home! So many thoughtful details throughout and working with Jeff was fantastic! Thank you for sharing your beautiful cabin with us!!

Sweet and cozy cabin just down the road from Lolo pass where we were able to snowshoe without all the crowds. It was a big enough space to fit 5 people and a few pups comfortably. Fireside friend time in the evening was also delightful. Communication with the property was effortless and he was quick to respond to our inquiries. This is the second time we've stayed here and we will likely return.
The only thing I'd suggest is to bring your own water (the tap water isn't great) and bring extra firewood if you plan on staying more than 2 nights as we ran out. Also! I had never cooked with an induction cook top and you can't use your own pans on it (which we brought since we all love to cook). You can only use the pots/pans provided and cast iron. Other than that, lovely stay!!!

Great location and very cozy! The place was incredibly clean. Sitting in the hot tub and listening to the creek in the backyard was our highlight.

Camp Festivus is a wonderful home right on a creek. The house is very comfortable and has such charm. Sitting in the hot tub and listening to the creek was pure bliss. We were celebrating my husband’s birthday and I made a Bundt cake. There was everything I needed, even a standing mixer. Wr enjoyed a fire every night. It was nice they have some wood already in the cabin.
We will definitely stay another time.
Thanks Camp Festivus!

We absolutely loved the accommodations. Very rustic, with nostalgic charm, very old vintage fireplace and an extremely cool Nola style chandelier. Appropriate sized kitchen with plenty of utensils and cookware. Plenty of bedrooms and space.
The only unfortunate experience was that one of the main rooms had dog beds in the closet. The odor in that room is undesirable as you can imagine. After moving the dog beds into the laundry it was much less noticeable. I reached out to the manager with some recommendations to clear that air and he was very receptive and kind. The other recommendation I would have is to replace the grill in the back, new grate but everything else about the grill is antiquated and not very efficient.
Despite that, we extremely enjoyed our stay here and will definitely go back. Also, the location is perfect. Many cafes, grocery stores and restaurants really close by.
Hot tub with creek running in the background was the cherry on the cake!

This place was perfect. We were able to bring our fur babies!!! It’s quiet, relaxing and has everything you could ever need. Sitting in the hot tub under the stars and pine trees was amazing. We will be back!!!! Thanks for opening your home to us😀

We had a fun time with our family of four at this cabin. Loved the hot tub and the fire place was amazing. This is definitely an older cabin that needs some TLC and renovation soon. The cabin itself is great but the owners to need to replace a lot of the amenities like cooking utensils and kitchen gadgets. The BBQ grill was completely rusted over and pretty much unusable. Again, the cabin is great but all the amenities that are in the kitchen need to be replaced soon. That’s an easy fix for the owners and something that could move it from 4 stars to 5 stars.

We booked in July for a snowy mountain adventure but missed the storm by a week. Camp Festivus was still amazing and we truly enjoyed everything about it.
The space is large and welcoming, we had plenty of firewood and the new induction stove was a great surprise! We were just a small group, but this place would be amazing foe a large family get together. The rooms are well sized with lots of bedding options and the common space is very inviting.
The wood and history of a Steiner cabin, the huge and perfectly jetted hot tub, the creek and woods are perfect.
Go boom this place!

We used this for a ski trip for a group of old friends and as a “welcome home” trip for my brother on military tour. It was excellent in all regards. The house, the creek outback and the hot tub were perfect. The beds are particularly restful after a long day skiing. No complaints whatsoever.

Camp Festivus is nicely located about a mile away from the main highway on a creek. It’s got so much original character but is cozy and warm. The new appliances and upgraded heaters since our last stay a few years ago are fantastic additions. It’s about a 20 minute drive up the mountain to Government Camp and Summit/SkiBowl ski areas when the highway has snow. Pups are welcome but you do need to keep them off the furniture and beds or use the provided dog sheets and towels. Looking forward to another stay in the future.

We absolutely love staying here. This was our first time there with snow on the ground and it was beautiful. We cooked a delicious stew over the fire in our dutch oven. Highly recommend cooking in the fireplace. Zippy had a great time. Of all the places we take him, I think he likes this place the best. Thank you for having us.

We stayed for my son’s 20th birthday celebration, and it more than met our expectations. Secluded yet close to everything, plenty of room for 4 adults, a teen and a dog and breathtaking views from every direction. We will absolutely be back again!

The three of us immensely enjoyed the woods, the creek, the hot tub, and the cozy cabin. Our friend who is an avid chef, enjoyed the well- equipped kitchen and new oven/stove. We enjoyed his meals. The fireplace was our focal point when the rain began and I esp appreciated a covered porch to do a little painting. We only wish there were more lamps for reading by the bedsides and in the living room, esp when rain curtailed our hike with the dog. But such a perfect spot for a woodsy get- away with friends!

This beautiful forest retreat was exactly what my husband, I, and, and our dogs, were looking for! It is Perfectly situated near diverse types of forestry, so you can find the ideal trail you are looking for, whether it be mountain, forest, meadow, or river setting. The house is spectacular, both inside and out. Sit in front of one of the most grand fireplaces that I have ever seen or soak in an outdoor jacuzzi surrounded by pines and ferns. It is the perfect place to relax after a day of hiking. Additionally, the owner has created a very helpful guide book, listing some of the popular trails and historical sites. I loved learning about the Barlow Road and we did go find the wagon wheel ruts. Clearly, the owner has taken the time to restore a historical cabin in such a magical way and wants guests to get the most out of the Oregon experience. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

What we like the most was being by the creek and listening to the wonderful rippling water. A real plus was a hammock right near the creek. The cabin itself was also terrific, looking like an historic structure. It would have been nice to have a table and more comfortable chairs on the patio that is off of the master bedroom.

The cabin was beautiful, quiet little trail down to the peaceful river. We enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend this Romantic cabin getaway to anyone needing to recharge and relax. Thank you again. We'll be coming back. Alan and Barbara Vance
