This cabin is on private property. We share the forest with all of God Creatures.
The Cabin is 100 years old. We have done major upgrades. The Solitude is not for everyone it gets really dark. But my oh my the Stars come out at night. The animals great and small might pay a visit. You will enjoy the decks. The covered swing in the yard.
BBQ on deck. Fully equipped Kitchen. Gas fire pit in the yard. We are not the Marriot or Hyatt so please don't expect that. We are in Gods Country however and you cant put a price on that.
Definitely one of a kind Lake Front on Beautiful Lake Vallecito. With 2 bedrooms 1.5 bathrooms it can comfortably sleep 6! Shower no Tub.

We absolutely loved our stay here. What we appreciated most was the candid and accurate description of what to expect from the cabin. The owner’s honesty about the property's condition was refreshing, and we found it to be one of the most fun, creative, relaxing, and beautiful places we've stayed. In spite of my last minute reservation and VRBO process shortcomings, the host was more than accommodating from beginning to end. Much appreciated. The outside of the cabin and the location are a bit in contrast to the older and somewhat cramped interior, especially for the price at this time of season. But the only real criticism I have is the size of the restrooms and shower. Otherwise, the property is as candidly advertised by the landlord.

A rustic and eclectic cabin with a magical outdoor space that we spent nearly all our time. Such close access to the reservoir and within 20 minutes of some really great hiking. We, and especially our two dogs, loved our stay. Thank you!

The location, the fenced yard, the hot tub, the kayaks, the fire pit…it’s just such a relaxing week when we come here. This is our 2nd year coming to the cabin, and we have plans to be back next year! We love that we can bring our pups and have them be a part of our end-of-summer vacation. Our girls love the upstairs bed with the twinkling lights. The host is very responsive and answered all the questions we had within minutes of texting her. Unlike some other vacation rentals we’ve stayed in, there is nothing in the kitchen besides what you need to cook with (pots, pans, utensils) and a few spices. Not an issue for us at all, but know that if you plan on cooking, you will need to bring all oils, condiments, etc. we did a grocery pickup in Pagosa on our way, but there are two little markets on the other side of the lake with some basics should you need it (most businesses around the lake are closed on Tuesdays, just FYI) Our kids also loved that there were some board games they could play with. Overall, this place has everything you need and we can’t wait to return!

This property is gorgeous, quiet and private with direct access to the water. Everything is as described. Constance was extremely helpful and communicative and we had no issues throughout the stay. Cannot beat the location! My husband and I and our two dogs had a fun, relaxing stay.

This was our third year in a row that we have stayed in Connie and Brad's 100 year old cabin in Bayfield, Colorado at Vallecito Lake. This cabin is lake front and has an amazing sunset view. This cabin is at the head of a easy trail for biking, walking, running or just taking a stroll. The yard is beautiful, grass so soft and cool on you feet and our Chocolate lab loved it too. The cabin has every thing for cooking and grilling. New Blackstone type grill- best breakfast I ever made. Also, washer and dryer so you don't have to bring a rolling suitcase to the lake. The lake right now is full, beautiful and ready for fishing, boating or just sitting, watching and listening to the rhythm of the incoming waves. We stayed 6 nights and let me assure you that it will go by to fast, so book some time at the Cabin and reset your mind and soul.

The property is ideal, with no neighbors except for a campground! It was easy to navigate to the lake to do early morning fishing and I spent my days capturing amazing photographs of hummingbirds, chipmunks and nature outside the property. We enjoyed the stars from the hot tub and boating at the lake. If you love nature but want the convenience of home away from home, it has the amenities needed!

My husband and I stayed at the property for 4 nights! We communicated with the owner before arrival. She was extremely responsive and we were actually able to check in a little early! Right when we arrived we started exploring the exterior/yard of the property which is phenomenal! Within a few hours of check in the owner texted to make sure we didn’t have any questions about the property!
There was a quaint babbling fountain, yard swing overlooking the lake, a hot tub on the deck and plenty of tables and seating options around the entire property! Decorative lights wrapped the patio and were strung from the trees for lovely outdoor evenings! We cooked on the grill and ate dinner outside every single night! It was peaceful, quiet, and secluded with a beautiful view of the lake that was just outside the back yard gate!
It cabin itself had everything we needed! The master bed is a sleep number which was very comfortable! The cabin is a great place to rest your head after a days activities of fishing and boating at the lake or golfing and shopping in Durango (about a 40 minute drive) and after spending the evening outside enjoying the yard! We will definitely be back!

The views and location are perfect for a weekend at the lake. It is also located right next to a easy trail that follows the lake. Perfect to take our dog to run and play in the lake multiple times a day. this cabin is perfect for 4 adults or a family of 4. Staying at this property is Heaven - the beautiful surroundings … mountains, lake, blue sky, free-roam cattle, squirrels, and privacy are unmatchable. The fun activities never end . . . hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, and barbecuing. Rainy days are cozy indoors with the fireplace, games, and movies. The patios and hot tub offer inviting places to watch the stars in the night sky. The owners/hosts are wonderfully accommodating and friendly. This is one of our most favorite properties for a fun and relaxing vacation!

We enjoyed our stay. The area is very beautiful. We went to a restaurant/bar in the other side of the lake on a Saturday evening for good food and a live band. Great atmosphere. The only negative was the lake being very low. Let’s all work on climate change. Connie was the perfect host.

Our family of 4 thoroughly enjoyed our time at this little slice of paradise in the woods! You can tell they’ve put a lot of work into the outside of the property and the yard and hot tub were our favorite part! We were outside most of the time. The beds were very comfortable, and our kids loved the twinkly lights in the upstairs bedroom! Our girls also loved the kid-sized kayaks. We had so much fun kayaking alongside them in the lake. There was a small issue when we checked in, but Connie is very responsive and fixed the problem within minutes. We also loved the outdoor shower and the flashing light shower head inside - such a fun surprise!
My only recommendations for improvement would be to provide beach towels for the property that people can use down at the lake or when getting out of the hot tub - otherwise, the only option is to use your shower towel. Also, a mat by the sliding door in the kitchen is really needed. We all slipped multiple times coming in from the hot tub on the tile floor, and this would be such an easy fix to prevent anyone from getting hurt.
You can’t beat this private location with easy lake access and a trail right out the back door of the property. We would definitely stay here again!!!!

Location, location, location! This is truly a CO gem. It’s rare to find a place with access to a swimmable, clean lake that also has so many outdoor amenities and a big yard. We had a blast using the canoe and going fishing, and walking the trail right off the property. There is a campground right off the property but it was very quiet and we only saw a handful of people the whole weekend. This is definitely a smaller, more rustic lake cabin and the owners are very accurate in their description. Beds were extremely comfortable and we enjoyed everything this property had to offer and would 100% stay here again.

Can't beat being on the lake!
We greatly enjoyed being right on the lake! The property has a beautifully maintained outdoor area with plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. Lots of lake toys included with the rental and fishing was excellent during our stay. Also, can't beat sitting in the hot tub at night and enjoying the stars!

Beautiful lakeside property
The most beautiful outdoor area along the lakeside! The patios, hot tub and beautiful lawn were the perfect addition to the beautiful view of the lake. The area was quiet with the prettiest walking path that runs alongside the lake. The cabin was old and rustic just as the listing states, but it was also in dire need of a deep clean indoors. The heavy use of air freshener to cover up the cabin odor was off putting. We didn’t spend much time indoors, so this wasn’t a deal breaker.

This was our second year at this property. Secluded, but near grocery stores and town for a little drive. Fishing is big. There is a marina that has boat rentals. Hot tub, and four TVs. Serenity in God's country.

We came here on our honeymoon and it was a perfect, relaxing getaway. There seemed to be nobody around for miles. There are a lot of hikes nearby including one that’s just right out the door - beautiful. Everywhere you go is beautiful. Mountains in the distance, fairly close to Durango.. we’ll definitely come back.

The cabin was cozy and comfortable. Our dogs loved exploring the large, well maintained yard. The adjacent campground was closed for the season, so it was incredibly quiet and private. It was a great escape from the busy city.

Fabulous, beautiful location on lake with hiking trail right outside back door. Water very low late season so could not utilize water toys. Pet friendly but cow fencing does not keep dogs in so tethers are needed unless your dogs don't wander or chase every small critter! As stated in VRBO description, very small, 100 year old cabin...interesting set up, very "man cave-ish," may take some getting used to for renters who are used to a bit more space, especially in the bathrooms. Outdoor shower is lovely, we utilized it the whole time! Connie and manager Kay very easy to work with, responded promptly to questions/requests. Unique cabin in unbeatable location.

Beautiful, Relaxing and Fun!
The location and amenities were perfect. Beautifully tucked into the tall Ponderosa Pines in Vallecito with serene views of the lake. This is just the getaway our family needed. Really enjoyed the outdoor living spaces and the kayaks. Our four- legged family loved it too! Fantastic outdoor experience with great modern amenities. Brad and Connie were fantastic hosts and we will definitely return for some more R&R and fun in the water.

Relaxing, clamping, amazing star gazing
This cabin is great. The yard is amazing, the views of the moon and stars are spectacular sipping a glass of wine from the hot tub on the back porch... we walked the lakefront shore line every morning and afternoon. Our dog loved it.. glorious place for 100 year. Old cabin with amenities..... just keep that in mind. we will go back...

Played yard game (corn hole) and it was so so so fun, board games, made up games and a beach game! Two adult kids, their mates and me (and our doggies). Small kitchen but we adapted. My SUP board was a bonus. The place is sweet!!

Perfect Vallecito Stay
The cabin was absolutely perfect for our family, very cozy with all the amenities you could ask for. Views, Views, Views!!! Beautifully landscaped. From playing in the water all day with all the boats and gear included, to grilling and relaxing in the hot tub at night, everyone had a relaxing and magical visit to Vallecito. Easy access to the cabin and lake, was a major bonus. Our kiddos were in heaven with the ceiling lights upstairs. Definitely will visit Connie's place again soon!

Peaceful Fall Stay
The views and outdoor space make this property a gem! I enjoyed wine while in the hot tub and watching the sunset, camp fires (propane) and grilling out, looking at the stars, walks down the path nearby. The cabin itself is set up with all necessities - wifi, bluetooth speakers, heater/fire places, tvs/cable, etc. for when you want to unwind indoors. There are plenty of outdoor activities to do all around - hiking, 4 wheeling, boating, etc. The owners were great and very responsive when I had questions. I can't wait to return!

We had a great relaxing time here and really enjoyed the yard and deck. Beautiful scenery and the path along the lake was great with our dogs. We loved the very friendly chipmunks. We will come back next summer so we can use the boats. Great communication Connie!

We loved the yard
We really enjoyed our stay! The outdoor spaces were great and the yard was very well maintained. We also liked the location being near the campground with walking trails nearby. The lake levels were pretty low when we were there but it was still great having views across the lake and being able to walk to the lake from the house was great. The owners were very friendly and helpful when needed. We hope to come back for another visit when the water is higher.
