About this apartment rental

City of Durango Permit #2019-042.

This 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom 2,000 square foot, single level luxury condo (Unit 2E) is all about it's exceptional location as it is located in heart of Durango's tourist district. Walk to all the downtown area restaurants, shops and entertainment. There are six restaurants alone on the building's block.

The condo is also one block from the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Depot and Durango's downtown movie theater. Lifestyle in this condo is like staying at a luxury resort with dining and entertainment options adjacent and of the highest quality.

The building has electronic security and elevator access to all levels with secure, fully-enclosed underground parking for two vehicles.

Bed Configuration:
Master - King with TV and Ensuite Bath (main level)
2nd Bedroom - Queen with TV (main level)
3rd Bedroom - Bunk Beds (Single over Double) and Double with TV (main level)

Please note, due to HOA regulations, this unit, and all of the units in the Mears Building, are NOT pet friendly.

Cancellation Policy: A non-refundable payment of $300 is required at the time of booking. This $300 payment is applied toward the total amount due and is only refundable within 72 hours of the time of the booking is made. If your arrival date is within 30 days of booking, payment in full is required at the time of booking. Cancellations or changes to stay dates, including changes that result in a shortened stay, are not permitted within 30 days of arrival, and any such changes will result in a penalty. Cancellations or changes that are made within thirty (30) days of the arrival date, forfeit the entire reservation amount while cancellations made more than thirty (30) days in advance of your arrival only forfeit the $300 payment made at the time of booking. For reservations that are at least thirty (30) nights, the cancellation policy above increases to sixty (60) days prior to the arrival date. We do offer travel insurance.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property in Durango was so convenient for our family reunion of 16 adults! Easy walking to downtown, lots of restaurants and shopping, etc. We rented 3 units, 8 bedrooms total all very nicely furnished and equipped. Unit 2E had a plenty of dishes (needs more small spoons) and appliances and all the linens were nice. The kitchen trash was full upon our arrival (the previous tenants responsiblity to empty), management was called and they came with 30 minutes. Bravo! Some things could use updating especially the deck. Everything had a different security code which was annoying but necessary. The reasons for my four stars: some of the tables and counters should have been cleaner, the high top round table in the kitchen hadn't been wiped at all. I would recommend this property in general but absolutely not unit 2E unless the king mattress in the master suite is replaced. There is about a 3 foot crack in the very middle of the right side. It's like 2 mattresses side by side but not the whole length. Manufacturer defect? My 135 lb wife got into bed the first night and there was no way she could sleep on that side of the bed and to avoid the crack, we had to sleep close in the space of a double bed. That is a major problem with unit 2E. To summarize, this is a perfect property for a anyone who wants to be near downtown but don't rent unit 2E.

We had a wonderful stay in this luxury downtown condo. We were surprised by the size of the place with way more room than we needed or expected. When we booked we had no clue there would be an Independence Day parade less than a block away nor the fireworks show just across the highway. Perfect location to walk anywhere in downtown yet super close to get on the highway for any venturing out further. The only issue we had was parking. The height of the garage was only 7'6" and this info was only visible in the app on the day of check-in, so much too late to swap vehicles. That said, as long as I was diligent and ready to move my truck a few times per day it didn't end up costing us any extra, just not as convenient as using the garage would have been. Anyone with a normal-sized vehicle, you're all set. Since we visit Durango pretty regularly whenever the kids are home and want to tag along, we'll surely look to see if this condo is available.

We were extremely happy with this rental. The kitchen was well stocked, the rooms and bathrooms were clean and stocked with essentials, and it was quiet for being so close to the downtown area (the train whistle was not an issue at all). We loved being walking distance to everything (especially the bagel place). We had a couple teenagers with us and it was the perfect location and set-up for our trip needs. Would stay here again!

The property itself is very nice and spacious. The listing said the property had air conditioning and while that is true, it never cools the property. And the check-in process was horrible with almost an hour being spent to try to get into the unit.

The property was within walking distance of downtown. It was open and spacious. The only downside was there wasn’t a place to hang clothes in the master bedroom.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Mears House 2E was spacious, in a great location, with a fully stocked kitchen to cook and eat to your hearts desire. Nice fluffy white towels, an amenities box in kitchen & bath. Excellent WiFi and Netflix. We would enjoy giving this unit 5 stars but there are some easy fixes & quality controls that need to be completed to do so: 1.) Difficult to locate garage in the alley behind the building and 4 different codes for unit (garage door; elevator; unit itself; and street door)- for next client just to be aware . 2.) We wanted to BBQ a steak but could not - grill was filthy and clearly had not been cleaned in some time. 3.) No living room/bedroom lamps - all harsh overhead lights but space & wall sockets to do so 4.)Curtains hang askew 5.) No closet in masters bed 6.)Due to fan running 24/7 from next door business - no fault of owner/mgmt - opening window at night is noisy - just be aware. 7.) Saggy master mattress 8.) Bumps/scratches/nicks on walls from careless use by people.9.) Some dirty glassware in cabinets and knives in knife block. 10.) Carpet no longer beige as in photo.We rode the train to Silverton and back - this unit is a great location to walk to the train. Easy access to stores/restaurants and roads. We also visited Mesa Verde for a day. I recommend this unit for your stay in Durango but be aware of our noted experience.
