My family and I enjoyed our stay at American Pines!! The cabin is cute. The management is amazing and the location is fabulous. Near so many attractions!!

The cabin is fantastic - very spacious and well located. It's very quiet, and I loved the playground and basketball court for the kids! Keystone town has everything you need. However, the supermarket is a bit farther, but it's not a big deal. The wi-fi is not great, but even without wi-fi, your phone will not work well at all. It must be the mountains; the signal is terrible. The only "complaint" is the bed comforters - they were smelling a little. I understand how hard it is to wash those covers, but it must be done. Everything else was perfect.

The family that manages this property is wonderful to work with, both online and in person. Our cabin was exactly what we expected, it was clean, comfortable, and the location was ideal for vacation sight seeing. I highly recommend renting from American Pines.
Additional note: We took advantage of their ATV rentals. The process to rent/return was easy, the equipment was clean and in great shape, and the owners shared their knowledge of trails and technology to maximize our experience!

We had an amazing stay! Cabin was cozy, clean, and perfect for our family of 6. Queen bed in each bedroom and pull out couch bed. The playground and basketball court was a hit with our 4 kids! Hosts were friendly, responsive, and helpful! Highly recommend and would stay here again!

These are truly mini cabins.
fine for 2 people, short stay. Three drawers in the cabin, all with kitchen stuff. no dishwasher.
bedrooms are small. If more than 2 people, best to keep all but tomorrows clothes in your vehicle.
pretty dim mostly overhead lighting.
no dishwasher, galley kitchen. the bathroom is off the kitchen, access is tight if someone is in the kitchen.
4 adults? They best be very good friends and have lots of good outside weather..

This place is really nice. Spoke with a person staying next to us that they come there to stay when in the area he tried to get our cabin #5 but they told him it was the only dog friendly and that I was there with a dog. I can see why they come back to this place have a feeling we will as well

This cabin was amazing! Incredibly clean and stocked with everything we needed. Location to town is ideal for a Black Hills vacation. It was relaxing to sit on the deck and enjoy the views. The resort was quiet and scenic. Our kids loved the playground and basketball court - and were so excited to see the train come right by! We had the best time and would recommend to everyone looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation!

Loved the location, loved the amenities and loved the scenery. All around a very nice trip!

The cabin was very clean and easy to check into and out of. The only reason I gave it a 4 star was because it was difficult to use the provided WiFi for some of the stay. Good amenities otherwise.

American Pines is a lovely get away location very close to downtown Keystone but in a remote setting. The cabin is as very clean. The bedrooms are a bit snug. Nicely furnished kitchen. We traveled with our dog and there is plenty of space to walk on grass. There’s also playground equipment if traveling with young kids. Very friendly and helpful owner.

First, the location is great. Just off the old Hill City-Keystone Road, and right along the line of the 1880s train (cool to watch go by). Forest and hills on all sides. And the most stars I’ve ever seen at night.
The cabin is super comfy and cozy. Big windows providing great views from inside.
The hosts were super responsive and accommodated our late check in without any issues. 11/10, highly recommended!

As a mom with a 3 and 8yo. I wanted a place to stay that had bedrooms with doors so bedtime would be easy. I also wanted to be able to cook what the kids are familiar with. So the small kitchenette worked well. The cabin is small so a family of 4 would fit better we managed with 6.
The kids loved the small play set and basketball court which was a great way for them to unwind after our adventures. We had great service, the location is really jn the middle of it all. I was impressed with how quiet the cabin was even with Sturgis traffic on the road. Will recommend to family and friends.
