Enjoyed the island. The house served its purpose. Lots of things to do. Steep stairs down to the beach but lots of tide pools at low tide.

Everything about our stay was top-notch. The house/property was exactly as described on website, kitchen well-equipped, beds very comfortable, and the thickest towels ever in the bathrooms. House was immaculately clean.
The stairs to the rocky beach are necessarily steep, fantastic views from the yard.
Communication with the host was the greatest possible.

I think pictures in the review did not do this place justice. It’s even better than what we had expected. We celebrated my husband’s 40th birthday here and couldn’t have had a more amazing time. You have to remember to pack all of your food since the island has a very small store, but the house is a six minute drive from the ferry as well as some beaches and cute little shop. They had all the amenities we needed and more, especially for cooking every night. The views were spectacular. We had perfect weather, and you could see Baker as well as the Canadian Rockies low tide. We were for class and even saw several starfish and an anemone.

Four of us rang in the New Year at this fabulous location. Nice and quiet with gorgeous views. We couldn't have chosen a better spot.
Love the quick access to local trails and cozy warmth of the accomodations. Well appointed kitchen and enough space for 4 adults (and one dog) to relax comfortably without being in each other's way!
Would definitely stay here again!

Such perfect rental on a perfect island. Cannot recommend this house enough. Perfect size, view and location. Only advice is to bring all supplies as the grocery on the island is pricey

This was a great property with a beautiful view, plenty of space, yard, at a reasonable price! We look forward to staying here again in the future!

Loved it. Housekeeping: All of the ceiling lights over the stove were burned out and it was dark while trying to cook in the kitchen. The light bulbs need to be replaced. The salt shaker had no salt and the TV remote was open and missing battery. Otherwise, we had a great time.

A group of 4 of us picked this property for a friends getaway weekend and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The property was perfect for the four of us. Great location, great views and access to the beach. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. Our hosts, Robb and Marea, were super helpful, supportive, responsive and accommodating. Truly could not have been better, they were so thoughtful - thank you ! You both really helped make our getaway perfect. Would 100% recommended staying here.

We celebrated our 18th anniversary in this lovely home by the water. Such beautiful views even though it was overcast. We enjoyed watching boats navigate a couple of wind storms too. Loved the fresh sea air. We were excited to see eagles, cormorants, buffalo head and wood ducks in the bay. With a good camera you can get beautiful close up shots. It was very tranquil and restful, exactly what we needed! Thank you Robb and Marea for sharing this gem by the water... we'll be back!

Wanted a place by the water to celebrate mine and my brothers birthdays. This was great! Enough room for 6 adults and an 8year old. We brought board games but didn’t need to, had fun playing chest with the Asian chess pieces!
Overall it was the relaxing weekend we all needed!
Will definitely recommend and will hopefully stay again

We have family on Lummi Island and visit frequently. This is the best place we've stated in terms of accommodating more than two people. As is the case with most vacation rentals, I recommend packing some of your own kitchen equipment--knives especially.

Quiet Getaway
Lummi Island is so peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay . The large front and back lawns provided space for badminton and other lawn games. The view from the deck is lovely.

Lummi Get away
The property was just as we expected from viewing the pictures. Very nice and clean. Check in and out was very easy and we appreciated the fast responses from the property owners when reaching out to them. They left a nice bottle of wine on the table with a welcome note which was over and above. Thank you....We Will stay here again.

Lummi Island retreat.
The pictures on the website gave a pretty accurate portrayal of the property, with the exception being the beach access. The beach is at best quite rocky, and several of the high tides left no beach to be found, with water right at the stairs' foundation. The stairs are so steep and long, (about a 30ft. drop) our dog freaked out and refused to use them. Several low tides exposed small sandy areas, and we collected clams and oysters (crab season was not yet open). There doesn't seem to be any local TV channels, only on demand. The wi-fi worked well. The property is beautiful and well maintained. The island does not have a worthwhile grocery store, and no gas station. To access decent food shopping, you need to take the ferry ($22.00 for two people in a car) and drive to Bellingham. At the time, there seemed to be only one restaurant open on the island, but I prepared our meals in a well equipped, clean kitchen. There are only two small public beaches we could find, but several good hiking trails. A very quiet island, people seemed friendly. With the waters usually quite calm, a canoe trip from the property was beautiful on the East side of the island. Saw deer, raccoons, a seal, a whale, and a bald eagle. Small fish jumped out of the water next to the canoe, avoiding a predator. While it rained most days, it often cleared up by afternoon. Overall, the views are great, it's a great place to unwind, but kids might get bored if they don't enjoy the many games supplied on the property..

Stunning, spotless and charming property
A wonderful place to stay for Memorial Day weekend. Great views over Puget Sound, full access to an interesting and thriving rocky beach, and excellent facilities for us to stay in comfort.

Tide pooling getaway on Lummi Island
We again found a gem of a place that let us bring our adventure kitties. Beautiful views, stairs down to our own tide pooling, comfortable house, all on a great island for biking and relaxing. The house is a little rustic (which is good for us) but a great value. The only things I saw for improving would be a little repair work around the shower and better lighting in the kitchen. Nothing critical though, and the bottle of wine left for us was a wonderful welcome. We will definitely be back!

Warm and cozy stay
Despite a cold icy wind storm we enjoyed staying warm and cozy in the house while watching the waves and trees sway. A beautiful view and nice stay.
(only downside is we tried to contact the manager about a few questions and did not hear back during our stay) Otherwise a 5 star stay

Beautiful waterfront geaway
Perfect oceanfront cottage getaway for 3 friends and me. We enjoyed a lovely beach walk one morning with beach glass and tons of oysters at low tide. The stairs down are steep so you'd want to supervise little ones. The house was well equipped and set up perfectly for gathering and privacy.

Island Retreat
My sisters and I spent 4 wonderful days together on lummi. It was relaxing, easy and the house is one of the best VRBO experiences We have had.
We hiked (baker preserve and blizzard trail) kayaked (with Moondance kayaks), and visited to our hearts content alongside great views of Baker and the water.
There was everything we needed to cook and sleep well. The last night we enjoyed dinner out at the beach cafe.
We will do this again. Great house and yard and lovely setting.

Wonderful property!
This is our second time staying at the Crabbin Cottage. Amazing tidal pools and outstanding view. Nice, clean house with plenty of amenities and comfortable beds. This has become THE place we stay on Lummi.

Perfect getaway
This was the perfect, relaxing summer vacation from the heat and wildfire smoke this year. The house was just the right size for our family of four, two adults and two teens. Went down to the beach every day at low tide to see starfish, crabs, and even a couple harbor seals. Getting on and off the island was fairly easy, the ferry ride only takes a few minutes and runs twice an hour most of the day. Would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a more quite, laidback location.

Cute, quiet spot on the island
What a perfect spot for family and friends to gather and enjoy a quiet little spot on Lummi Island! We had a group of 8 (3x’s adults, 5 kids between 3-9, and an older dog) and all fit really well in the space. Kids loved the bunk room and the room darkening shades were much appreciated by the parents! The deck was wonderful for watching the bald eagles and hummingbirds frequenting the feeder. Back yard was spacious and felt very private, with impressive views of Mt Baker and gorgeous sunrises. Steps down to tide pools are steep, but in good shape and worth the trip, as the tide pools were full of little crabs and sea stars for the kids to explore. The house itself was well stocked with plenty of towels and washcloths for our entire party, as well as lots of nice little extras in the kitchen if we had forgotten something. The bowl of chocolates and bottle of wine was as sweet as the fresh jar of hydrangeas placed on the deck table. We had the opportunity to meet Robb and Marea, as we arrived a little early and they were finishing up inside. It was a great time for them to let us know about a few little quirks with the upstairs tub, which we appreciated. They were so kind and thoughtful - even sending a message letting us know some Orca whales had been spotted at the North end of the island. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with family or friends, this is an excellent find!

Beautiful setting!
This property on Lummi Island was a perfect retreat, the house was as described, the views were beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed our month there as were able to meet many of the locals and felt like we were part of the community. The short ferry ride allowed us to travel to the mainland several times and enjoyed Bellingham and a trip to Mt Baker. The owners were responsive, although we had few needs while there.

Great for families; Easy access to awesome beach!
Crabbin' Cottage was a great choice for our Spring Break getaway. The house is well-stocked (save for a pizza pan, although we may have missed one onsite?) and very clean. We were blessed with some sunshine during our 3 days, which led to fun beach exploration by our kids & dogs. Our youngest pooch needed some help getting up the steep but otherwise totally manageable staircase from the beach; our 11-yr old and 9-yr old had no problems. The beach is great! The views are phenomenal! We enjoyed watching the bald eagles fly by, and spent plenty of time trying to identify the majestic mountains in the range beyond. Island exploration was wrapped up with a day of Geocaching, so it left us plenty of time for in-house relaxation. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone wanting a memorable Lummi Island experience. My best tip: Get in the ferry line at least 30 mins in advance on the weekends. You might actually make your boat!

Perfect way to relax and enjoy nature!
Fantastic stay! The house was clean and cozy. The views alone from this house were worth the stay. However, the house was also cozy and welcoming, included tons of games and books, and was perfect for our family of four, including two young kids, and our dog. The house could easily fit 6 comfortably. The backyard was great as was the tide pools right on the property. The stairs to the tide pools (60- my son counted) were steep. I would recommend this place!

Lummi getaway
Five of us plus our dog stayed at the house this weekend and enjoyed the beautiful view, beach access, and the large yard. The kitchen provided ample room and dishes for cooking our meals. We also took a walk along Nugent Rd. during a rain break and walked through Curry Preserve.

One of Lummi Island best properties and a great location
I have stayed in Lummi Island a few times now, and this time I brought my husband and pooch for a mini stay-cay (coming from Bellingham, WA). We came to relax, rewind, refresh and enjoy nature. Well, this house really met all of our expectations: The location is fabulous (right on the water with a beach that has great tide pools and near the ferry landing, store and Beach Store Cafe-yum!); the nature all around is amazing, not to mention the views of all the mountains and the lovely colors of the water and the resident bald eagles and deer; the house itself is very well-appointed, cozy, clean, great beds, and spacious. If I had four thumbs, I would give the Crabbin' Cottage all of them. Highly recommended for couples, families (tons of books and games!), or a small party of friends. I'll be back for sure-thanks Robb and Marea!!!

Perfect place!
We had such a wonderful time at this property on Lummi Island. My family and I spent Christmas out there and could have not been more delighted, the house is very cozy with thoughtful touches (including a small Christmas tree). Beautiful view of the water, comfy beds and the space was quite large. Check in was very easy and hosts were easy to get in touch with. We would love to make it our new Christmas tradition :)

Beautiful Vista
Wonderful and relaxing. We got lucky and had 3 sunny days in late October and early November! Already missing seeing the eagle that perched above the water each day.

The house is wonderful and you could not ask for a better location--right on the water with great views of the sound. Pros: location, size of property, cleanliness, quiet, serene, several excellent beaches. Full Bloom Farm is fantastic. Cons: Mattress on downstairs bed was too soft and was uncomfortable. Not a lot to do on the island because of COVID. There is one small grocery store and one very high end restaurant. The Beach Store Cafe is open only on weekends. The island is not terribly dog friendly. The roads are two lane, narrow, with no shoulders. No dog parks or walking paths that we could find.Summary: I give the experience a 4 star rating. The house itself is great, the island is very peaceful, but be sure to bring all the groceries you need for your stay because shopping and dining options are VERY limited.P.S. The ferry ride from the mainland to the island is an adventure.
