About this house rental
Offering discounts for 7 nights or more!
The house has a single level with an open mid-centry modern look and is decorated with a collection of local pottery and art work. The house is located in the community of Lake Toxaway N.C. Blue Ridge Lake is a private spring fed, four and a half acre lake with only 7 homes. Blue Ridge Lake is about a mile north and a few 100 feet above Lake Toxaway. Almost every room in the house has views of Blue Ridge Lake. The master bedroom has a king size bed a lake view and private bathroom. A second bedroom has a lake view and a private bath. The third bedroom has a picture window facing the garden. The fully equipped kitchen has dishwasher, microwave and gas stove and oven. The second bathroom is next to the great room. New central Airconditioning and heating system .Free wifi/ internet throughout the house. The wrap around deck has covered and uncovered areas and is a great place to eat, sleep, watch wildlife on the Lake and to read and relax. You can fish from our private dock or our fishing boat and our 2 kayaks.
The Gardens Around the House include native plants and wild flowers designed to attract birds. The gardens include a large collection of Hostas and seasonal planting of our large collection of Begonias and Fuchsias. We are members of the American Begonia Society and the American Hostas Society. The couple we purchased the home from had been living and gardening on the Lake for over 30 years. Gardening is a work in progress and we spend a great deal of our time in Lake Toxaway gardening. It is wonderful to be able to garden in the middle of the summer and rarely work up a sweat! The environment that makes the area great for gardening is one of the most diverse ecosystems in the country.
Spring is our favorite time in the gardens and in the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. The wild flowers are best from May into June. Mountain laurel and the native rhododendrons usually bloom in June in our gardens . Summer is a great time for the annuals and many of the perennials we have planted in the garden. If you can beat the birds to them we have many blue berry plants spread around the gardens and the berries are great summer treats. In August the temperatures where we live often reach 100 degrees and we are thinking about our mountain retreat where the high temperatures rarely exceed 83 degrees. Fall is the time many of our guest come for the turning of the leaves. Peak color at our elevation is usually around 2nd week in October. The mountains in our area provide a long season for leaf chasers. The higher elevations on the near by Blue Ridge Parkway often start showing color in early September. Color at elevations below our house in the Brevard area will often last into November.
We chose our vacation home on Blue Ridge Lake because of the views, the climate and the proximity to Brevard, Cashiers, Highlands, Asheville, hiking trails and waterfalls. We invite you to share our special mountain home. Visit, relax and enjoy!

Updated and immaculate home set in beautiful natural setting. Excellent amenities and helpful owners. Enjoyed watching hummingbirds amidst flowers and fishing and kayaking in small lake. Covered deck great spot to read. Spotted the beaver and my first white squirrel. Good location. Reasonable drive to Brevard and Cashiers for groceries and shops. Numerous hiking opportunities and waterfalls in area.

Can't say enough about this great home away from home. Especially loved sitting on the back porch enjoying the bird song and the lake. So peaceful! Owners were always available by their house phone which was a big plus. Everything we needed was available for our use and the king bed was super comfortable. A bit off the beaten path, but that wasn't a problem as it added to the quiet ambience of the location. The only negative was we needed to travel a bit far to purchase groceries. All in all though, a great retreat and we hope to return again.

The house was nice. The kitchen was fully stocked. We were a little disappointed about the 4 houses that were so close to us and the walking trail located directly in the back yard. The neighborhood is was nice but not as secluded as thought it would be.

My wife and I stayed there for a week and we really enjoy it. The property is enjoyable and in a nice, quiet area. You can enjoy the covered deck with a water view while drinking coffee without anything bothering you. We highly recommend it to anyone seeking a place to stay at Lake Toxaway.

The whole process was made easy by the owners! Thorough communication and a wonderfully appointed home made our short vacation feel even more stress free. We visited early spring before everything was green again, but saw rabbit, white squirrel, and so many birds. The daffodil and forsythia blooms were beautiful. Will be back in summer!

The property, home, setting was truly magnificent & so much more inviting than any on-line description. I'm reluctant to overdo our total enjoyment of our "too" short stay, for fear of others discovering this magical haven. We are already looking at available dates for our return visits. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer. We WILL be back !!

By chance our family found this hidden gem to enjoy a vacation. The house is located on a small private lake with great bass fishing. The ease and access around the house and property unbeatable. The area is filled with gorgeous waterfalls and hiking to fill your days. If you truly want to unplug and relax this is your destination because there is not a lot of cell service, but that's perfectly ok. You can enjoy the numerous hummingbirds that will greet and amaze you all day from the covered porch no matter what the weather is doing. Only downside would be the distance to drive for groceries and incidentals if needed. Owners were amazing and great to communicate information. They also give helpful tips to navigate a great stay. Will definitely be returning and bringing other family members to unwind and enjoy!

Loved this property. Didn't have the best weather but the spot was great even in the rain. Loved the size of the lake and enjoyed spending time in/ on the water.

Peaceful and quite
House was clean and in a quite peaceful area. Wonderful deck to sit on and enjoy the view. Comfortable beds. Ad for place was a little deceiving. The house was not on the lake but a 4-1/2 acre pond, also the house inside had a strange smell that we could not figure where it was coming from.

Very peaceful, relaxing stay!
Blue Lake Sanctuary was better than pictured. The location was quiet and all the greenery and being on the lake added to the relaxing quality of the rental. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the appliances were easy to work with. Lastly, outdoor equipment was easy to find and organized. We would stay at Blue Lake Sanctuary again!

Great Family Getaway Spot
Tucked away on a quiet lake, the cabin was a perfect escape for the family. The cabin itself is very clean, comfortable and roomy. The back deck is a great spot for drinking coffee and watching the sun come up over the trees while listening to the wildlife or playing board games with the family. Day trips are easy with so many mountain towns, hiking trails and waterfalls to see within a short drive.

Fall Weekend
Nice peaceful place and everything we needed for a quiet, relaxing getaway. Directions were perfect. They are NOT exaggerating when they advise arriving before dark. 😉

Mountain retreat
We enjoyed our relaxing stay at the Blue Lake sanctuary. The leaves were spectacular. The cabin was well appointed with a comfortable kitchen, master bath and wonderful gas fireplace. It was rainy most of the weekend, but we were able to enjoy the peaceful setting on the covered porch overlooking the lake. The boys enjoyed fishing and kayaking. We would stay here again !

Lovely Weekend.
Our family enjoyed a lovely peaceful weekend get-a-way. Blue Lake Sanctuary is just that a quiet sanctuary tucked back in the woods on a small lake. Mornings on the covered porch with coffee surround by hummingbirds & nature was exactly what we needed. A few days it rained and the Covered porch still allowed us to still enjoy the outdoors. It was About a 20 minutes +/- to Cashiers with a cute farmers market open daily to stock up on all your food needs and some prepared dishes , a brewery in cashiers with live music and coffee and shops to stroll around.
About 5 minutes from the house was a local place with food and wine we were not able to enjoy but looked fun.
Hiking within a 20 minute drive was perfect. We recommend Schoolhouse Falls for a great hike, waterfall & a swim.
House had all you need. Porch was a gem! Boats for fishing! One of the bedrooms is connected to the master so great for small children but might be challenging for privacy for 3 couples but worked perfect for our family! Plus home was pet friendly for our pups! :)
Would come again!

Great little house on a pond.
This home is great but it is set up strange, two bedrooms are semi-connected to each other. It’s otherwise very comfortable and quite nice. The lake is closer to being a large pond, but was a fun safe place to try kayaking for our first time. We enjoyed fishing and caught several nice size bass.

Peaceful oasis
Lovely home located on a small beautiful pond. Ducks fly in, geese are on the pond, nestled in a thicket, quiet but close to nature’s beauty. Well equipped. Wonderful experience!

Photos were decieving
The place has great potential but needs attention. Even though it's the end of winter the grounds are over grown and not maintained. Inside no batteries in the remote. No good directions for wi fi. Light bulbs out. Floors not moped. Overall a bit disappointing. Nothing inviting at all and would certainly not recommend. The communication with the owners however was pleasant and helpful.

Thanksgiving getaway
We got away from our house in ATL for Thanksgiving. The house was welcoming, private, clean, and an absolute great getaway. We even had great wifi! Thanks and would recommend this great getaway.

We chose this property due to its close proximity to waterfall hikes that we planned to do, and did. Also the owners allowed our two dogs. The rental was clean and comfortable and after a day of hiking was great to come back to. Directions were perfect, and if you adhere to them you will not go astray as I did. But all was well and we arrived in the daylight. The owners gave us a call to insure we had arrived as well as to let us know if we had any issues just give them a call. All in all a great place to stay!

Property was very nice and quiet. It is quite remote, which was fine for us, but just understand what you're getting into.We visited this area primarily for a relaxing week with lots of hiking and outdoor activity. Hiking is abundant and the number of spectacular waterfalls in the area exceeded our expectations.Overall, this met or exceeded our expectations.
