About this house rental
Our house is located in the mountains of the Lake Toxaway Estates Community. Lake Toxaway is the largest private lake in North Carolina, and situated in Transylvania County, the county with the most waterfalls in the U.S.!
Our five bedroom mountain home features three levels. It is newly decorated with two separate family rooms, both with fireplaces, large screen TVs, and their own decks. This provides the perfect escape for families, friends, or an intimate setting for two. The upstairs loft area also provides a relaxing getaway for reading, tv, or just hanging out.
We like to keep the number of guests in our home at six. The five bedrooms includes two master suites with king beds and adjoining private bathrooms on the main floor. In addition, there are three more bedrooms, and an additional two and half baths.
The main floor also has a bank of floor to ceiling windows with amazing views of the Western Carolina Mountains. This same view is also featured in the lower level. The kitchen is open to the living area and dining area.
With access to the lake, kayak and boat rentals, hiking, fishing, swimming in the lake and much more. A short ride outside of the Lake Toxaway community, you’ll find the delightful towns of Cashiers, Brevard, Sapphire, and the Highlands. In addition, it’s a 45 minute drive to Asheville with endless shops, resort areas, and cultural activities.

This house is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The host was wonderful, checking in by text to be sure we had everything we needed. The kitchen was well equipped, and all of the bathrooms had plenty of products as well. The whole family agrees this was one of our best vacations, and a lot of it had to do with the comfort of the house. The views from the porch are breathtaking!

This is one of those homes that takes your breath away for all the right reasons. Looking out at that stunning vista from the living room, bedrooms, kitchen, balcony - you name it - is heavenly. You feel like you’re on top of the world. The home was beautifully clean, with an extensive array of dinnerware, entertaining platters, baking needs (perfect after an afternoon picking blueberries!) plus spices, and condiments and bathroom soaps/shampoos etc. All the bathrooms were spotless. Communication with Elizabeth was excellent. She was quick to answer any queries and very helpful with recommendations for nearby hikes, restaurants, stores. My husband and I stayed with our 3 girls aged 3-7 and my parents who were visiting from Australia. They agreed that it was the most relaxing stay! We’ll be back!

Our first time to Toxaway and this house was perfect - Private, Quiet with spectacular views. Enjoyed the fireplace every night and used the grill to have some friends over and make hamburgers. Highly recommend!

Our family was delighted with our wonderful stay in this property! We have done plenty of vacation rentals in the past, and I can honestly say this was the cleanest and most well-appointed house we have ever stayed in. There were plenty of towels. The sheets, beds and pillows were all great quality. The kitchen was well- stocked with dishes, cookware, and cooking basics. The house was immaculately clean, and the kitchen, baths, etc all seemed newly updated. The owners clearly put a lot of love into this property, and it shows. Thank you so much for making our holiday trip to visit family so pleasant and easy.

One can tell how much care and detail has been put into making this vacation home feel even better than home. All the bathrooms were supplied with extra details like make up wipes/cloths, magnifying mirrors, lotions/shampoos, etc. The kitchen has plenty of appliances and dish ware/silverware to entertain and cook as you would at home. The TV and entertainment center were easy to navigate and had lots of options to choose from.
The home was very clean and decorated like pictures from a magazine!
The views from this home are spectacular! When sitting on the deck and sipping my first morning coffee above the clouds and enjoying the sky blue-pink sunrise are unforgettable!!
We stayed at the place for over 2 weeks and had a couple of friends/family join us periodically. The house is well laid out with plenty of space and bathrooms that each couple had their own space. No one wanted to leave. :-)
I've stayed at a couple of VRBOs in different locations and this place is definitely the tops. You will not be disappointed in staying here and relaxing in the mountains.

Our second trip to this home & the moment we walk in, my wife says, “I remembered it was lovely, I had forgotten just how lovely.”
The beds and linens were remarkably comfortable with plenty of excellent pillows. The entire home was very clean. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with everything we needed for cooking all our favorite Autumn meals. The mountain views were breathtaking and ever present from all the living spaces. The living spaces were big and comfortable with ample room for us to spread out & stretch after our daily hikes. Communication with Elizabeth was easy & welcomed from start to finish.
We could not ask for more from a luxurious mountain retreat.
This home and its location are truly a treasure.

This house is spectacular! The house is beautifully decorated and appointed with everything you could possibly need. The view is amazing…sunrise to sunset. Elizabeth is the consummate host and extremely responsive. We have stayed in other rental homes in this area but none more lovely. We were sad to leave and can’t wait to come back. Gorgeous!!!

Fabulous!
This home was perfect for our book club's getaway to the mountains! We had an unforgettable weekend discussing books, watching movies, and eating great meals in the well-appointed kitchen. Each bedroom was lovely and luxurious, and at the same time, the house was extremely comfortable. We had many enjoyable conversations around the table and on upper deck -- and the mountain views were spectacular! Many thanks to Elizabeth and John for a fantastic stay!

Absolutely Amazing!!!!
My family and I had the most wonderful mountain getaway at Lake Toxaway. Elizabeth was the perfect hostess from the moment we made the reservation all the way through until we checked out. She anticipated our needs and sent us ideas for activities for our boys as well as fun options for the whole family. She even kept us updated on events in the community in the weeks leading up to our trip.
We travel a lot as a family, and this was by far one of my favorite homes I’ve ever stayed in. It was extremely well furnished & clean. The kitchen was well appointed. The beds were very comfortable. Lots of room for comfortable indoor relaxing in the large common living areas, but with those views, everyone wanted to spend most of their time on the back porches.
I give this home my highest recommendation and cannot wait to return.

Driving up the mountain to the home were waterfalls, rhododendrons, and an array of gorgeous scenery and vistas all the way to their house. When we arrived, the house was not only beautiful on the outside but the inside as well. It was so nice to be able to come right in and relax in this super clean and inviting home.
The furnishings and decorations were exceptional and unique — this home looks to have been appointed by an expert designer! The kitchen was stocked with literally anything and everything you need—also true for the rest of the home. We spent so many wonderful hours out on the deck and enjoyed the gorgeous mountains and our quiet, peaceful surroundings. The landscape was picturesque as well as the views — the pictures seriously do not (and can not) do this view and this experience justice. We immediately were able to relax and couldn’t have enjoyed our stay any more. The area has some top-level dining available, incredible hiking, nature, fun and games, the lake…all nearby. Elizabeth was so sweet, helpful and was available whenever you needed anything. She had anticipated anything and everything you might need or could want. We will definitely plan on staying again. This is a home away from home, a true rarity!

Frequent, friendly and accommodating communication with the owner really enhanced the experience.She went out of her way to stay in touch and make sure all our needs were met, but without being overbearing about it. She really came across as someone we'd like to meet in person and enjoy.
The home is also very well stocked not just with the amenities listed, but with so many of the little things a family or group might want / need during their stay. Unlike some places that have the bare minimum, this property really felt like someone's home with all the positives that come with that, but none of the negatives.

But if you are just looking to kick back and relax this home has every amenity you need… sit back and relax while enjoying the mountain range views or drop down to the Greystone and enjoy hanging out on the lawn watching the boaters go by or rent a boat of your own. There are a ton of hiking trails in the area and can not forget to mention the endless amount of beautiful waterfalls. Pisgah and Gorges Park are close and offer great trails as well as sliding rock.
All in all this home is one anyone should be so lucky to get the chance to rent!

Magnificent Property
Our stay in this beautiful Lake Toxaway estate could not have been more perfect. As others have mentioned, the pictures do not do the home justice; the views are immediately breathtaking, and every space is luxuriously--though tastefully--decorated.
Perhaps more important, however, was the amount of time and care it was obvious the owners put into ensuring an unforgettable stay. First, the house itself: every need has been anticipated and attended to. The home had all of the supplies, appliances, and devices we could have wanted, and even some nice surprises--such as a Roomba--that we did not expect, but certainly appreciated nonetheless.
Second, the service from the owners was unmatched. Not only was the entire reservation process flawless, but the communication leading up to, during (and even after), our stay was always incredibly responsive and professional. Every question was promptly answered, and every need was accommodated. In fact, we even shipped a few (infant) supplies to the home prior to our stay, and the owners ensured that they were appropriately stored (and secured) and ready for us when we arrived. The owners also made sure that we were apprised of local events and things to do during our visit.
All in all, we could not have been more pleased. Our family had a wonderful and relaxing week in the mountains, and we cannot wait to return!

The view is magnificent. The home is beautiful and very nicely decorated. First class accomodations. The owner could not have been more pleasant to deal with. Nearby Gorges State Park has great trails and the nearby town of Highlands is a good visit.

Very private, great location right up up on top of the mountain just like we wanted, place was just like in the picture, very clean and comfortable. Bed was very comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed to cook all appliances in great condition. Beautiful views great place to stay. My family and I had so much fun... only problem is the limited of the water but Elizabeth had extra gallons of water around the house. I do take long showers so had to take fast showers ... I would recommend to anyone traveling the area! I Would come back again, fell in love with the place ps..we saw a bear and that was awesome
