All the reviews say the place is dated. And it is. But will you be living here? Its a great place especially for the price. Would definitely come again!

My family and I absolutely loved our stay. First off, the price is very reasonable. I love vintage and that home is definitely it. Every basic home necessity was made available for us. The river that runs across at the bottom of the backyard was amazing. Mr. Powers provided great information about the house and town. I mentioned to him that my husband and I were hiking our first 14er and he gave us advice on that. The town itself is very charming. We are from El Paso,Texas and have never seen anything like it. We would definitely go back again.

Easy communication with owner. Had an issue with water on the carpet and owner responded quickly. Liked the location and easy access to bus.

This is our favorite place to stay! We stay here several times every year. Rick’s place is like being at home. The kitchen has all amenities you need along with extras like spices, sugar flour etc. no waste happening here. The new couch is a great addition. Bathrooms are equipped with plenty of towels and toiletries. Love having the washer dryer to clean ski masks after each day. The house is definitely 70-80s decore. It is very clean and well maintained. We love that Rick is able to share his home away from home with us. Thanks.

It's a basic location but serves the purpose well. Comfortable, cozy and simple. It's value for your money, especially for a group spending most of their time on the mountain or in the town center.

Retro is always a thing: people crave nostalgia. Folks like me that grew up in the 70's and 80's will recognize most of this stay as a time capsule of the wild days before corporate ski passes - people in brown, yellow and orange jumpsuits riding pointy wooden 45mm sticks with aluminum poles. I wouldn't say it's retro though - it's authentic. I'm here for the outdoors, not worrying about granite this and porcelain that. I grew up on shag carpet and sheet paneling and avocado sinks. So if you're good with that, this is a fine stay with few modern frills - mainly because they weren't yet invented? The bed I got was comfortable. Good shower, hot water. Dressers and closet space ok. Washer is an unkillable Kenmore tank with the dial-and-pull start - and it got out some stains I thought had ruined some clothes. Impressive job. Dryer was probably from this century. Dishwasher was newer as well. Kitchen is well equipped, stove will heat your Spaghettio's. Fridge motor is struggling - sometimes sounds like you dropped it on a possum's tail. In the living space/hall there's a lot of cool historical posters. Entertainment we never used, although of COURSE there's a VHS player (no Betamax??) to go with cable and DVD. On the downside, I'd say the bedroom CRT's could either be swapped out for small LCD's which one could get with S&H green stamps if they were still around, or just recover to closet space. For me, French Creek fit the bill of old school sleep/eat/ski/repeat!

Enjoyed the location, views, bathroom towels, kitchen supplies, and good communication, but this home has some ancient bed linens, a VERY saggy bed in the primary bedroom, and old, old carpet in both bathrooms that makes me cringe. Another review that mentioned the saggy bed received a reply from the owner saying bed standards are “personal preference.” However, when 2 people in the bed constantly roll down into the middle valley of the bed, that is substandard. The comforter in the primary bedroom is rather crunchy, not something you want to snuggle with. An extra blanket we pulled down from the primary bedroom has ragged edges and multiple holes. But this place could be FANTASTIC if they spent a little money on it. The neighborhood is very quiet; the deck looking out at the slopes is AWESOME; the seating in the common area is nice; and the primary bathroom is very large (but, unfortunately, has the cringey carpet). We have stayed in 3 different Breckenridge VRBOs over
