About this house rental
Peace, relaxation, solitude, with only the breeze or the cry of a soaring hawk to break the silence ... all surrounded by a 100-acre nature preserve with turkeys, deer, and even an occasional bear. Just seven miles from the center of eclectic and historic Asheville, North Carolina, and close to a host of Western North Carolina attractions and activities.
This 3,200 square foot home perched high on the side of a mountain at the end of a pristine forested drive offers stunning panoramic winter views, spring and summer views through the lush curtain of leaves from hardwoods standing as sentinels of your privacy. A uniquely constructed home of wood and rock that seamlessly blends with its mountain environment, the home features a 22-foot-high cathedral ceiling, two large stone fireplaces, and includes all the usual amenities plus a 6-person hot tub on the deck, broadband Internet, a sound system throughout the house and unlimited U.S. long distance calling. Completely furnished, it will comfortably accommodate 12 people.
The oversized master bedroom on the first floor has a king bed, TV, and the master bath features a full size tub, glass shower and two sinks. A second suite on the lower floor features two mission style queen beds, a massage chair and private bath. The third bedroom is furnished with a king bed and desk with internet hardwire. All three bedrooms open directly to outside decks through large glass doors. The fourth bedroom has one queen bed. All linens and towels provided. A sofa bed is situated in the living room on the main level.
The large decks on both the top and bottom floors cover 1,500 square feet and offer a gazebo, rocking chairs and privacy for the perfect place to relax (and while no smoking is allowed inside it is permitted on the deck). With the gas grill, it’s also the perfect place to cook and dine. Or enjoy preparing gourmet meals in the fully equipped kitchen as you enjoy the mountain vistas through a large bay window. The kitchen includes full size appliances, including refrigerator with ice/water in the door, electric flat cook top with self cleaning oven, dishwasher, and microwave. You’ll find sharp knives, multitude of pots, pans and bake dishes, pizza pans, hand mixer, toaster, blender, and coffee grinder and maker. There’s also a full-size washer and dryer for your convenience. Off the kitchen you will find a small breakfast nook.
Lush, green and serene, the home is remarkably close to historic Asheville, with abundant shopping, dining, arts, and entertainment. Just 9 miles away is the world famous Biltmore House. Also visit the world famous Grove Park Inn & Spa less than 6 miles away, walk around Beaver Lake or Lake Louise, or picnic alongside the French Broad River only a 2 mile drive. Cruise the Blue Ridge Parkway, just 9 miles away.
Other area attractions and activities include: the quaint town of Weaverville, the 435-acre North Carolina Arboretum, the Pisgah National Forest (mountain biking, swimming, hiking), horseback riding, balloon rides, skiing at Wolf Laurel (19 miles), relaxing at the historic Hot Springs Spa (30 miles), Harrah’s Cherokee Casino, Chimney Rock Park, Grandfather Mountain, the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, and, of course, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
But then you may find you’d just rather stay home and sit on the deck with a good book.

We loved how quiet and remote this was yet still close to Asheville.

This house was nestled away in a beautiful location in the woods, yet close to all the Asheville things to do. Many reviewers have stated the house needs some TLC/updating, which we agree. The good news is that the owners are undertaking making that so. It will be fun to watch what they do as we would definitely stay here again after the updates.

Old house in a convenient and beautiful setting, within minutes of many activities. Many bugs in the basement downstairs where 3 bedrooms are. They had septic issues prior to our arrival prompting having the tank emptied during our stay, smell permeated the premises. Lots of ants in the kitchen that got into our food, this house needs some TLC

Everything as promised was present in the home. The property owners were very responsive and able to assist with every request or question we had. Would absolutely stay again.

Things we liked about the house: layout, location, hot tub and deck.
Things we didn't like: cleanliness, downstairs needed a dehumidifier, there was a lot of deferred maintenance and a mystery dog just showed up in the dog run and howled.

Great location and well stocked home. Owner incredibly responsive. However the home is a bit worn with older mattresses, musty smell and needed a refresh.

multi generations gathered together. The house was beautiful with plenty of room. Traveled with my 88 year old father, husband, adult children and their spouses. Love that there were two levels so younger set had their own space. Had some issues but the manager quickly addressed them and our stay was wonderful. TV in master bedroom was too complicated for us to enjoy an addition of a roku would have been welcomed so we could stream easily.

As a group we thoroughly enjoyed your home. All the amenities you provided made our stay perfect. The remote mountain feel while close to downtown for fun excursions was perfect. It's obvious you take pride in your home and maintain it well

All family members were very happy with their bedrooms. The house was tastefully decorated and it was nice to have a big dining room table where we gathered for meals. Gazebo was used constantly and the 2 year old ran from one side of the deck to the other, The kitchen was amply stocked with cookware and dishes. Hot tub was great for relaxing. Good time for all.

Perfect place to get away from it all. Our family of ten easily fit into this property. Some were able to work, while others played. Plenty of room for everyone. Place was clean and very convenient to Asheville and the surrounding attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

Great family vacation
This property makes you feel like you staying out in the woods but you are only a short drive to Asheville! It had plenty of room for our family that we were able to enjoy time together but spacious enough for finding space to be just relax as well. I would highly recommend it if you enjoy the outdoors .

Weekend in Ashville NC
Everything was good, except the drop-off to the driveway which was very narrow and dark when coming back in the PM after dark. Perhaps some light could help.

relaxing
We enjoyed our stay. Home was comfortable for 8 adults. It's a serene setting high up on a hill. Leaves were still off so we had nice views which trees would obscure in the summer. Large deck has the feeling of being in a tree house. Easy drive to downtown Asheville and the mountains for hiking, etc. There were only 3 wine glasses so we had to buy some which we left for future guests. Fortunately there is a Dollar General at the base of the hill!

Great location with scenic views and wild life
Our family enjoyed being close to downtown, but still feeling like we were far away. The sunsets were gorgeous, the house spacious and comfortable, and the wild life was fun to watch. We saw several deer, a flock of turkeys (which roosted in nearby trees each night), a coyote, and countless squirrels.
There was plenty of room for the six of us to relax, and the large dining table easily accommodated us all. Both decks offer great views, and the hot tub on the lower deck got lots of use. Great place for star gazing!
John and Georgina were great hosts and stayed in communication with us. We will be back!

Accommodating property in a great location!
My family rented the cabin for my mom’s 70th birthday and it was exactly what we were looking for; big enough for 7 adults and one 8 year old comfortably, beautiful property with a relaxing hot tub and outdoor gazebo to chill in, and close to Asheville!

Secluded hideaway with easy access to town
This was a great spot for our family to spend graduation weekend (UNC Asheville). Plenty of room, a real "mountain cabin" feel and just a few minutes from main roads into town.

Not a luxury property, if that's what you are seeking
This house is roomy and functional but very dated and in need of cosmetic updating. Also, the towels provided were thin, and worse, smelled terrible. We had to buy towels at Target to use during our stay. The showerhead in the main floor bathroom came off in our hands. The mattresses are rock hard. The extra blankets are old and pilly. Upside: Great views, secluded location.

Family Stay in Asheville
Our family of 7 adults and 2 infants spent a fun week here in October. It's a spacious house well-suited to families. The large deck and open floor plan of the main floor were wonderful for all of us to spend family time together. The kitchen was large and well-stocked, and we were able to prepare many family meals together. The outdoor gazebo and hot tub were nice perks especially for rainy days. The master bedroom suite on the main floor was perfect with a large sitting area and nice shower. The house is located up an unpaved road on a hill, which was great for quiet and privacy but did not offer the opportunity to walk anywhere from the house.
Some small issues we had are that there weren't any facilities for recycling. Though the house was advertised as having a crib, after the booking the crib was removed, which was frustrating as its presence played a large factor in our choosing this house. The small middle bedroom on the basement floor had a musty odor. One of the other basement bedrooms had garbage on the floor on arrival. The soap dispensers were all empty and the toiletries were tiny and not helpful. I'd recommend bringing your own soap, shampoo, conditioner, and dishwashing detergent.
Overall we had a nice time, and the owner was quick to respond to questions.

Great Mountain Retreat
This house is large, clean, comfortable, and well furnished for a rental. We celebrated our Son’s 30th birthday and our 35th wedding Anniversary. Plenty of room for Navy friends to join us and lots of privacy. We explored the breweries and shops In Asheville and the Biltmore Estate. Fun! But I would have been happy just hanging on the wooded deck and soaking in the hot tub.

Adventures in Asheville
The location is remote, private, and picturesque; the house, spacious and attractive. The preparation for our arrival, however, was incomplete. Although we paid for eleven guests, no bed linen or bath towels were set out for the eleventh person. The cleaning left much to be desired; pretzels were strewn between the cushions of a sofa in the main room and a previous renter's teeth retainer lay on the floor alongside the sofa, which we left in a tray on the coffee table. Had the preparation for our arrival been more thorough and complete, the property would have been perfect.

Woodfin is a lovely house tucked up in the hills surrounding Ashville. The house was very clean and there were comfortable beds and plenty of bathrooms for our group of 6 adults.

Spacious, secluded but close to downtown
We had a great stay. The house is spacious enough to host 2 couples with 4 children easily. It’s close enough to Asheville to easily get back and forth. The back porch and gazebo is awesome!

This property was quite large, clean and well stocked! I especially appreciated the labeling system. It really helped with knowing what switches when with what and where items were located. Having a grocery store, gas station, and delicious Bellagio Bistro so close was a huge plus! The close proximity to Asheville made this property the perfect location for us! We love Asheville and were able to go there 3 times during this visit. The weather was perfect for tubing and just what the doctor ordered. I asked several questions before booking and the hosts were helpful and quick to respond!

We really enjoyed our stay in this home. We had 7 adults and there was plenty of room for us to spread out. The large living room/dining table was great for gathering. Very secluded and private.
