We enjoyed our stay and had a great time fishing, playing pool, and hanging out in one of the many outdoor spaces. Communication with the host was excellent and friendly. Lake June was very nice.
We learned after booking that we could not put our boat in the boat house (I didn’t see this in the listing), so heads up on that if it’s a big deal to you. Also, this is an old house - and the A/C did not cool the upstairs well at all. We kept the place closed up as directed, but even with high temps only in the 80s it was uncomfortable upstairs at night.

Best Vacation of Our Lives! Perfect home & Perfect Host!
Where do I start? Four families with children ranging in ages from 1-11 were in desperate need of a vacation. From the moment we booked it to long after we left, the host, Maria, made us feel like family. We walked in the door and released a collective gasp of awe! We knew we were walking into something magical, historic, and with its own special character. Being surrounded by giant wood beams and creaking floors that have seen a million footsteps over the years left us feeling lucky to get to be a part of this home’s lengthy story. Every room was immaculately maintained and updated with all the comforts of home and beautiful decorative elements. My husband and I have back and neck injuries so comfy beds are a MUST and these beds did not disappoint. It could be that we were exhausted from skiing all day and just collapsed into bed but all of our fellow guests reported great sleep and commented on the luxurious linens, pillows, and comforters. I packed nearly my entire house expecting to need many things in the kitchen but Maria literally has everything you could ever need. We ate all our meals on the giant deck overlooking the lake and enjoyed watching the sunlight sparkle on the lake and eventually set below the horizon. The dock and private sandy beach area was perfect for our children to wade in splash about and play in the sand. The older kids were so proud of themselves for getting the courage up to jump from the top of the dock! We kept our little ski-boat there and were tubing and skiing till dusk every day. Not a single alligator sighting and the water is so clean with no weeds! Maria had fishing poles and tackle and toys for the little ones. The neighbors are absolutely lovely, helpful and welcoming. The whole experience felt like we had stepped back in time to when things were simpler, neighbors were friendly, being outdoors was the only place to be, and families felt connected and shared every meal together. We had a ‘no devices’ rule for the kids but never had to enforce it as the backyard and lake were their entertainment! I could easily keep going but have already written too much. You will not regret renting this home and it’s magic will continue to call you back.

Old unique house but dirty & needs alot of work
Communication with property manager was excellent. The only issue I had was the cleanliness of the property and things needed to be fixed and replaced. I did receive a $300 refund for it not being clean. It's a beautiful old house but needs a good Spring cleaning in some money invested into it. I probably would not rent it again because of it being dirty.

Great dock for water sports
A relative rented this place twice before I did so I knew ahead of time that it was a great place. It's clean and well taken care of. The deck off the house is huge. The dock is nice - with a large covered area to stay out of the sun. The water is about 7 feet deep at the end of the dock with a nice sandy bottom. I'd definitely stay here again!

Gets better every year.
This is our 2nd visit to this property and it does not disappoint. Couple of things I would like to mention that I didn’t in my first review ...the water is nice and deep off the end of the dock, so we didn’t worry about the kids getting hurt. The bottom is clean, sandy and free of vegetation. Great area to boat, jet ski and fish.
We love this place! It is so charming and cozy - the perfect spot on Lake June. Neighbors are friendly and helpful. Owners are as well - very easy to communicate with.
We will be back next year - gotta book early!

3 R’s- Relax, Recharge and Renew
Maria was super about communicating prior to our arrival with all the pertinent information . She was available throughout our stay to answer any questions I had. Her home is beautiful and historic (100 years old and first house built on Lake June). The character of the house can not be adequately described with words-it’s something you have to experience. If you want a place to get the 3 R’s this is the place to choose.

Great Stay on the Lake
We had a very nice time at the lake house and the owners were fantastic to deal with. Great location on the lake and a very comfortable home and a private dock with room to fish and watch the sunset.

Lake vacation
The best in lake living. A great old house, better than some newer ones I’ve been in. The owners are fantastic people.
This was truly what we wanted to escape the cold.

Wonderful Family Vacation Experience
I rented this lovely home as a place to create memories for my sons, their wives , my sister and my grandchildren. My expectations were far exceeded. The kids had so much fun putting on plays in the large living area at night as well as playing pool which the whole family loved. There were so many things to do as a family both during the day and at night. The sunsets are so beautiful to watch from the deck as well as on the patio . There were 9 of us and the house was so spacious and perfectly laid out . So many areas for privacy and quiet time if needed. I can’t say enough on how much we all loved staying here. The host provided all the comforts of home which we appreciated so much . We will definitely be back .

When are we going back?!?!
It’s difficult to put into words what a wonderful time we had at this property. First of all, the pictures of the property are beautiful, then you see it first hand and it literally wows you! Such a charming, unique home. It’s surprisingly large and very comfortable. At the end of the day, it was nice to curl up on one of the many couches, wrap ourselves up in blankets and either read or relive our day. The pool table never rested while we were there - we had one son who broke his arm right before the trip. We thought he was going to be sad, missing out on tubing and knee-boarding, but he turned into quite the little pool hustler. The lake is lively with friendly people enjoying all kinds of water activities. Yet, it’s peaceful and calm as well. The sunsets!!! Every night, they were breathtaking! The owner is very nice to work with. We had no problems at all, just a friendly conversation. The neighbors were even great! We really liked them - so friendly and helpful. We were lucky enough to be in town for the Caladium festival - a local art/plant/car festival. We made 2 trips there and came home with some local art and beautiful native plants. I have to say, the people in Lake Placid are some of the warmest, friendliest people I have ever met. Even the trips to Publix were enjoyable. You won’t regret the memories you make at this beautiful home! We look forward to going back, as do our children and extended family. Thank you for an incredible, memorable summer vacation - looking forward to our next visit!

Throughly enjoyed it
Everything was excellent. We went to this location for an anniversary. It was a central location for us because we had people coming in from Orlando and Ft Myers. We had plenty of room and spent most of our time outside. A friend also rented another house about a block away and just went back and forth on boats. The dock was well maintained and clean. We grew up close to this location over 20 years ago and loved visiting this house and location. Everyone was asking questions about it and would love to rent it for themselves. I would definitely recommend it.

Great house for our group of 10-12!
We loved the house. It has a great lake where you can catch fish, our grandson spent lots of time down at the dock fishing and caught lots of fish. The house didn’t have a toaster and when we asked, they brought one. The owner had bought new sheets and we were the first ones to use them, they were slippery and kept coming off so I told her about them and she had a new set of sheets in the closet that she let me use after I washed them. Pretty much whatever our concern was she took care of. One thing the owners could do is to clean out the dresser drawers so that visitors can use the drawers. It was wonderful! A great place for a family gathering!

Nice cottage, good location, very nice family home
First time in Lake Placid. Location of this property is very good. It’s far off busy highway 27 and the busy road going around part of the lake on the north side. The road this place is on is fairly quiet. Too far to walk to any restaurants, etc. but nice walking paths and quiet streets to walk. House is large and obviously a family home. Lake front area is great. Nice dock to sit out on. Be nice if there were a couple kayaks to use. Our only concern was the cleanliness of the kitchen. The rest of the home was clean, including the bathrooms but the kitchen needed more attention. Freezer badly needed defrosting. If we could be sure of a clean kitchen we’d definitely rent this home again. Not a lot of restaurant choices in or near Lake Placid. Publix grocery store and liquor store are a very short drive away so provisioning the house was easy. If you’re interested in renting a place that feel like a family home this is it. Lots of pictures, etc. Nice linens and towels. The town of Lake Placid is quiet and nice. Some nice antique/junk shops to check out. We also visited the gun shop in downtown Lake Placid. Super friendly and helpful young lady working there. Enjoy your visit to Lake Placid.
