About this house rental
The name of the cabin, Rustic Sol, captures its essence. Modernised and comfortable, the cabin retains its rustic Tahoe charm and soul. And atop a rise and south facing, it basks in glorious 'sol' (sun). And yet there are many more outstanding features……..
The land to the north slopes gently down over conservancy and forest service lots providing privacy, forest views, and excellent tobogganing opportunities.
The 2 storey cabin has been renovated and appointed with a thoughtful combination of antique and modern furnishings to provide a comfortable stay while maintaining the rustic character. Some qualities include:
- Gas fireplace/stove for ambience and to protect the air quality in the Lake Tahoe basin.
- Triple pane windows for a draught free and warm stay.
- Central heating to ensure that every room, including the bathrooms, is comfortable.
- 46in LED Smart TV with access to internet apps such as YouTube, Pandora, etc; HD free to air TV stations; and a large library of movies and TV series.
- A chef's kitchen with granite counter tops and all new appliances
- New king and twin mattresses, bedding, and down comforters for a good nights sleep
- High speed internet, wifi and a telephone to stay connected.
- Access to Chamberlands private beach (beach ONLY, no pool or tennis access).
Rustic 'Sol' is the ideal mountain getaway regardless of whether it is outdoor adventure or relaxation that is on the agenda. The cabin is convenient to amazing skiing, hiking, mountain biking, and spectacular sandy beaches on the lake. In the summer, take the free shuttle to the beach, or in winter, call Homewood Mountain Resort for a free pickup.
Please note that the driveway is narrow and curves upwards to the house, hence, AWD or 4WD cars with tires suitable for snow are required in winter due to the likelihood of snow.

We really enjoyed this home and location. Very well appointed. Clean. Spacious. Well supplied with kitchen cooking utensils, pots/pans, etc. Very pleasant.

We had a lovely time with our family. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This is the most beautiful and charming part of Tahoe. The proximately ro Homewood iand its own sledding hill ate great bonuses.. It is roomy, comfortable, and functional more than the number of square feet would suggest. It feels private and the neighborhood is great.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is in a beautiful location, and it was relaxing to sit on the patio and look at the scenery. The beds were comfortable, and the upstairs master was very roomy. The kitchen had all that we needed to cook our meals there. Thank you!

Can’t say enough. It was a magical stay and when I proposed to my now fiancé, it made it that much better.

We loved our mini-trip to Homewood/Tahoe! We'd stay at this cabin again in a heartbeat. The manager was more than helpful, and the location couldn't be beat. There's a great market down the road in Tahoma, and you're within minutes of so many quality trails for all age ranges.

We thoroughly enjoyed the use of your homey cabin. It had all the comforts needed for a great get-a-way.

We so enjoyed Rustic Sol! Had all the kitchen amenities, beds were comfy, and Mike & Ling communication was spot on. Thanks the Bourques will be back!

It was cold and snowy for our visit but the house had a wonderful heater that worked great so we had a cozy time. Description of the driveway is accurate- narrow and can get icy. Since he had only one car we could easily turn around at top of driveway, this could be an issue in snow for multiple vehicles. House is well stocked and upstairs bed we slept in was comfy and large. We enjoyed our stay!

Stayed a few nights before the Christmas holiday. Was a last-minute booking, but the property management was lovely and accommodated our needs! Comfy beds and helpful amenities. Very cute place to chill and relax. Was nice to walk around the neighborhood in the snow. Close to a lovely beach, and not a far drive from Emerald Bay and Tahoe City. Wish we had the time to stay longer.

We enjoyed our week in this cabin. The west shore is lovely and the cabin is in a good location in a quiet neighborhood. The kitchen was well stocked and updated. The bedrooms/beds were a little dated but fine for us!

We really enjoyed our four nights at Rustic Sol. The location on Tahoe’s west shore is convenient to many attractions. The cabin is very well appointed and has plenty of vintage charm. We cannot wait to visit again!

Great location with several state parks nearby. Large yard for our kids to play in. Kitchen was large enough to easily make meals and clean up. Tracy, the property manager, was very responsive and friendly.

The size was what we wanted. The driveway was terrible.
Washer and dryer were both full of wet sheets and towels.
After we got everything done and under control we had a good stay.

It was a wonderful stay and the house was perfect for us and our adult children. The house had everything we needed, except for 1 towel per person for the weekend, so if you think you might need a towel for the lake or water sports, you’d better bring a beach towel or an extra towel for yourself. Check out if the area has anything extra going on that would increase the traffic. There was a celebrity golf tournament going on when we were there that made for a lot of traffic. But that’s no bearing on how nice the stay in this particular house was. We would certainly stay here again!

While the house itself was decent and accommodating in terms of beds and baths, it was incredibly disappointing to have had to clean it ourselves before being able to settle in the first night. We had to wash the bed linens, then put the bedding together, as well as clean the dishes; as none of this had been done prior. We did receive a phone call prior to checking in the day of, stating that there had been a weather alert and they needed to take shelter (nothing actually became of it- it’s not Kansas), but it was specifically stated that we would simply need to, “put the beds together” as that had not been able to be completed. That was it…assemble the bedding. To our overwhelming dismay, that was NOT it. Incredibly disappointing to have traveled more than 8 hours on the road, only to arrive, and then need to do laundry and dishes before we could even go to bed. We paid the full fees, which included an amount for cleaning…we should get some money back!!! Decent house, decent location, but questionable cleanliness.

We stayed at this cabin earlier this year. It was exactly what we were looking for! A cozy cabin in the snow where we could get away for a short time. We will stay there again if we have the chance!

Communication about how to find the place was fantastic. Everything we needed was also easy to find. The place was very cozy. There was no confusion on any level everything was very clear and exactly where you looked for it. It was easy to play board games and video games. Super cool they had so many board games there. Showers were nice. Beds were great. Kitchen was well stocked.

My S.O and I stayed here for our 4 year anniversary with our two dogs. Its within 30 minutes from palisades tahoe ski resort, 15 minutes to tahoe city with restaurants and shops, and about 50 minutes to south lake tahoe. Neighborhood is quiet and the cabin was cozy/quaint. We enjoyed our stay!

We had a wonderful 3 night stay that turned into 4 nights thanks to an abundance of snow... we loved it and the kids loved it! Clean, well appointed, and private, with a great little sledding hill close by. The owner and local property manager were very helpful and super nice. We'll definitely be back!

This was excellent place and a VERY good value, as Tahoe can be quite expensive. The owners were communicative and responsive to all of my questions. The house is super cool, and since we were racing at Sugar Pine State Park, it was very close by. I highly recommend staying here!

Unfortunately we did not have a good stay. Upon arrival, we found that the house was FULL of dog hair- all over the couches, floor, and rugs. We were cleaning dog hair off of our clothes all week. There was also dirt and dust everywhere (shelves, floor, blinds, etc), random chewed dog bones left around, and it did not seem like it was professionally cleaned at all. One towel rack literally fell off the wall, and another towel rack was being held together with masking tape- general upkeep was lacking. Additionally, it wasn’t that important to us during this stay, however I know it can be important to others especially if they want to work- the wifi signal was weak and very slow. Overall it was a disappointment and not worth the money.

This beautiful cabin is nestled on the Western boarder of Lake Tahoe. My wife and I visit Lake Tahoe annually for our anniversary, and this cabin suited our needs perfectly. There was plenty of room for our two small children, with all of the amenities you could ask for. I would definitely recommend this property to prospective vacationers, and my family and I would relish the opportunity to stay here again!

It’s a nice cabin, but a little bit of a squeeze if you stay with 8 people. It’s very well kept, it could use some updating but everything is in fine working order. It has a full service kitchen too. The front and back decks are spacious, but the back deck is close to another cabin. We couldn’t find the beach pass so we ended up going to other beaches. Overall great experience, I would recommend this cabin to anyone.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this vacation home. It fit our family of five + dog nicely and the home looks exactly like the VRBO photos. The caretaker Tracy gave us a call the morning of arrival, and she was very thoughtful and kind to personally give us check in instructions. However, one thing that we were unhappy about was the cleanliness of the property (when we paid a cleaning fee for the rental). When we arrived, we noticed that there were opened bottles of soda in the fridge. We also found that almost all of the utensils, cups, and cookware had food and grease stains on them so we had to wash everything in the kitchen again upon arrival. There was a load of sheets left for us in the dryer, the floors were dusty, and all of the towels smelled very musty as if they were left too long in the washer.

Lovely, well appointed cabin in a beautiful area. I highly recommend this property and hope to enjoy it again.

Wonderful and beautiful location! Couldn't be better. A glorious view of trees and snow. Also only 15 mins to Palisades Tahoe and same to Tahoe City.

Great house! Wonderful experience at Tahoe.

The property manager was amazing. She was kind and caring and even got us a small Christmas tree that was there on our arrival after I mentioned that we were celebrating an early family Christmas with our children.
The place was clean and cozy, dog friendly and people friendly. The views are wonderful - especially after a snow fall. We enjoyed the tiny little gas stove and rustic ambiance.
The kitchen was a bit of a frustration because it could use appliance updates and new cookware. We are a family that enjoys cooking together, and given the location there are not a lot of good restaurants close by. We would have loved some updated cookware and appliances since we spent a lot of time preparing meals together.

The property is as described in the VRBO listing. There is only 1 adjacent property. Other properties are across the road. We saw snow and a black bear on the front steps. Lock your car doors!

We spent 5 nights here over the summer and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. House was clean and as advertised. Proximity and access to Chambers beach were a plus.

This house was great for a short or long term stay. 3 bedrooms provided ample sleeping space and the eating/living area is very functional. Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and owners were very responsive. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, and there are a few easy hiking trails just a couple blocks up the road.

This was the perfect home for our family. It was exactly what we wanted, a place that was cozy, quiet, and rustic were there was enough space to let the kids play in the snow. Tracy was amazing, she was informative, helpful and all around a nice person with a great sense of humor :) I would recommend this home to my friends and family. We hope to stay there again on our next visit to Tahoe. Thank you again for everything!

My wife and I spent 5 nights here during Thanksgiving and loved it. The place is very comfortable, especially the king sized bed upstairs! The location is great as we hiked from here everyday with a great selection of amazing trails. We also liked having the tv and ability to connect to all of our streaming apps to watch some movies/series.
