This place is great for our young families. There was a lot for the kids to do around the property when we weren't visiting Tahoe sites. We enjoyed eating meals out on the deck and love the layout with the living/dining room/kitchen upstairs with a lot of natural light. The owners were very responsive when we were there and provided a lot of helpful information up front before we got there. Would love to stay again in the future.

Quiet, convenient location for exploring the hiking trails near Lake Tahoe. Hosts were very responsive and helpful. Lots of amenities. Having a washer/dryer and a comfortable mattress made for a much more pleasant visit. Even little things, like plenty of hangers in the closets, was appreciated.

Excellent location to private beach with included shuttle, Emerald Bay, Mansion, Tahoe City, restaurants and stores. It was a lovely, rustic home in a quiet neighborhood that can accommodate 6 adults comfortably. The house is appointed nicely and has a deck and yard. Owners are quite responsive.

House was clean and equipped with everything needed including a baby gate to keep my granddaughter from climbing on the stairs ! We stayed there with our children for our wedding and that house will always hold a special place in my heart.

Very nice house/cabin near the Homewood Ski Resort. We loved our stay. Great location with a well equipped kitchen. The car port was great to have when it snowed. Plenty of room to park our car. Great for a family.

the 3-bedroom cabin in the woods is charming, with a well-equipped kitchen and fireplace— with firewood and kindling provided. Lots of comfortable seating. We really appreciated the snow sleds and the bench and hooks at the entry for removing snow boots and hanging up coats.
The only thing missing is a view of the lake?

Clean house; well-equipped kitchen; well-stocked pantry; enough paper towels, toilet paper and cleaning products for your whole stay (yay!); good wi-fi; notes with instructions everywhere you need them; good communication with hosts. Would definitely book again!

This was our third time staying in this cabin and each time it has been wonderful. Clean, thoughtfully stocked and super comfortable. It really feels like home away from home. We had a full Thanksgiving Dinner with no problems. Everything works great and the neighborhood is gorgeous with lots of hiking trails near by.

My wife and I were in Tahoe for 3 days of hiking and stayed here. Loved it. Very well stocked kitchen and open concept on the main level. Very close to the lake in a nice neighborhood. Highly recommend. Would absolutely stay here again if in the area.

We usually stay in South Lake Tahoe, but this time decided to try staying in Homewood. It was closer to our favourite hiking locations so we could show up there early to get a parking spot. The neighboorhood was very quite. The place was clean. Ed was always available to answer questions. Overall, a great place to stay, highly recommend.

I felt like I was in a treehouse with the coziness of grandma's house. We loved every minute of it and can't wait to come back! 10 days was not long enough.

This is our third stay here and it's been a pleasure every time. The location is excellent -- hardly another house in sight and trees in every direction. The house is nicely and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is fully equipped and the pantry stocked with spices, herbs, oil, sugar, salt and pepper, coffee, tea, coffee filters, plastic wrap and bags -- just about anything you'd want. The beds and bedding are comfortable and plentiful. The owners are very responsive and helpful! We love it here and hope to return next winter!

My two brothers and I picked this place for our annual summer reunion. We loved it, we each had our own space, the living room is huge, and the location is close to all the parks on the east side of the lake. There are grocery stores and restaurants nearby. Overall we had a great time here!

I celebrated my birthday at Ed and Ramona’s cabin with 7 friends and it was perfect! Perfectly located near chambers, great restaurants around, and the cabin was a fabulous place to host a party of 8! Would definitely recommend to any group or family looking for a beautiful stay in Tahoma near the lake. Thank you so much to Ramona and Ed for being the best hosts!

Our trip was cut short due to a nearby wildfire and cancelled events, and Ed was so understanding and accommodating. Though we weren’t able to stay long, the home was charming and the location was fantastic.

Gracious hosts; home is well laid out; great location for side trip adventures
This home had all we needed for seven of us (4 adults, two teens, and one “tween”) to enjoy our week on the west side of Lake Tahoe. Large common living area upstairs, big dining table, large and well stocked kitchen. Downstairs is MBR with what I would call a Full size bed…maybe a bit small for my 6’5” frame, but very soft and comfy sheets. Plenty of dresser and closet space. The adjoining bathroom was clean, water pressure was excellent. Two other downstairs bedrooms were each appointed with two twin beds, and each with a dresser and closet. Lots of extra blankets and pillows within the closets. The 2nd bathroom (also downstairs) was perfectly adequate and appreciated. The location afforded the easiest of access to mountain adventures including hiking and dirt-biking. The entrance to the Rubicon Trail is about a 2 minute drive. Also lots of hiking access nearby. Eagle Rock hike is easy and close by, and we had a black bear sighting there near the top of the trail, just 50 yards from us. A smallish (200 pounds??) dark brown or black with a white-ish chest. The bear graciously sauntered off in the opposite direction upon seeing us. Later that night we had a bit closer encounter with a bear who found its way into, and got trapped in a relatives car in the Chamberlands neighborhood. The interior of the car was pretty well destroyed by the time the bear managed to re-open one of the doors. The exterior door handles of the car had been sprayed with Pine Sol (as left for that purpose by the landlords), but that did not deter this bear. Perhaps Ammonia would work better. I don’t have that level of experience to make the determination. Car-owner is unsure if the car did not lock upon their last arrival home to the rental house. Possibly he fat-fingered the key fob and didn’t pay attention. Little to no damage to outside of car but interior is virtually destroyed. We’re unsure what residual aroma the bear may have detected to peak his curiosity and provoke the entry, as there were no food items nor toothpaste, gum etc within the car. The bear had an ear-tag, indicating it had been trapped/released in the past. Couldn’t see the number on the tag. Maybe 058 or 085? Bear was cinnamon brown and fairly large, maybe 300 #. Lesson: make certain car doors (and house doors and windows) are securely locked. Try ammonia on handles. Keep handy bear spray and air horns. Overall we loved our time here, and know these chance encounters exist. Its not a zoo.

Great Time!
This was our second visit to Ramona's Retreat and we're officially making it a family tradition. We love visiting - the home is comfortable and the location is perfect!

Ramona's Retreat was a treat
Ed and Ramona were super responsive and their house was clean and cozy. They responded immediately when we had trouble getting in, which was due to user error. We were at the wrong house! Our fault for not double checking the address number. But Ed was very nice and responded right away and was very good natured about our mistake. The decorations and little details in the house made us feel at home. We'd love to stay again.

The Perfect Place for a Family Gathering
My two adult children, a family friend, and I spent a week at Ramona's Retreat over the holidays and had a marvelous time. The historic snows only added to the delight of being there, keeping warm by the fire (thanks to abundant firewood), cooking in the wonderfully stocked kitchen, enjoying the books and games, and watching the snow fall. Some of us skied, some snowshoed, some shoveled snow just to get exercise. There was everything we needed or could want, in a comfortable, family-style setting. Ed and Ramona were in touch with us regularly to make sure we were okay, and had what we needed. It was a delight!

The house is cozy great located
The house is cozy and has everything you need we had a great time the only downside is the kitchen appliances that need a upgrade the microwave takes double the time, the fridge freeze the food and fridge it's too small for the 6 adults and 2 children that we stayed on the house the couch had chips crumbles on it,spiderweb evywhere inside the house and face mask and some trash all over the patio and driveway but other than that I recommend the place is 5 mins walking to the lake( but you can't see the lake from the house)on a quiet neighborhood the address that was on the vrbo app was wrong so it's take us a while to find the address on the instructions email because the week signal around .

Nice and comfortable
Place has it all. Darts, bikes, games, beach equipment etc... We weren't there long enough to use anything but appreciated it being there. Owners really want you to enjoy the locale. My only comment is that it needs a good clean. Dust is everywhere in the mountains to be expected but the webs are crazy on everything. Owner couldn't be nicer. Location was perfect for us. I'd go back.

Cozy cabin!
Such a cozy cabin nestled into a great location on the West side of Lake Tahoe with convenience to the TART bus stops. it has great walkability; less than 3 miles to get to the local market/convenience store, less than a quarter-mile from private beach, bar & restaurant and beautiful nature all around. The cabin has a great layout for entertaining/cooking and it's a spacious size for two people. We really appreciated all the touches in the pantry and things for use and the information about Lake Tahoe throughout the entire property. Added bonus: the backyard has yard games and a swing that we definitely took advantage of. Highly recommend this place!
Pro tip: Rent a car because we didn't and it was very hard to get around. Limited uber/lyfts and taxis.
