About this cabin rental

This beautiful, smoke-free guest cabin in Island Park, Idaho, which sleeps up to 3 people, sits on an acre and a half of property, along with the main cabin. This cozy approx. 500 sq. ft. guest cabin is in a vacation home area, tucked in the woods with a view of Henry's Lake, pastures and mountains. It is located on a private road with easy access to the national forest.

There is one bedroom with a queen-size bed and a small sleeping room with a twin-size bed. There is one bathroom with a shower, which has been newly-remodeled. The kitchenette has a microwave, a toaster/oven and a small refrigerator. There is a box freezer and standard size refer/freezer in the storage area which can also be used. There also is a barbecue on the deck for your use.

This area is a year-round recreational paradise! Hike, mountain bike, cross country ski and snowmobile right from your door. Fly fish the Henry's Fork, Madison and Gallatin Rivers, Henry's Lake, Hebgen Lake, Island Park Reservoir, and the lakes and streams of Yellowstone National Park...they're all within an hour's drive. Snowmobile on over 600 miles of groomed trails available in the area. Downhill ski at Big Sky and Grand Targhee, both within a 90-minute drive.

This cozy guest cabin is within easy driving distance of Big Springs and the Johnny Sack cabin, Harriman State Park, Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, Red Rock National Wildlife Refuge, Quake Lake, and the historic mining town of Virginia City, Montana. Day trips also can be made to Teton National Park, Jackson, Wyoming, and Bozeman, Montana.

The owners, Rich and Diane Hunt, live in the main cabin on the property and are there to assist you.

Rich & Diane are great hosts! They hit every mark we expect in a rental and more! Not only was the guest cabin perfect for our weeklong stay but they were gracious is sharing their own space in order to make our trip better! They provided great recommendations for hikes and bike rides and were just a joy to chat with. We look forward To future stays with them!

My husband and I stayed at this cozy guest cabin to do some fishing and have a short get away from the heat at home. This cabin is in a beautiful pine setting with lots of shade and a gorgeous view of Henry’s Lake. It is very well cared for and very clean. The owner was so helpful and friendly and he and his wife had thought of so many nice details to make our stay comfortable and saw that we had everything we needed from extra fridge space to comfortable bedding, a beautifully tiled shower, wonderful smelling soaps, mirrors, plenty of plugs, hooks to hang all your stuff and kitchen table with views out the window of the lake, flower gardens and bird watching. The TV watching recliner couch was also a bonus to relax in after a day of adventures in Yellowstone Park. It was very accessible and close to watching plays at the Yellowstone Playhouse as well as many great fishing spots. We sure appreciated our hosts the Hunts for letting us stay here.

This is a wonderful cabin for a couple to stay in. Definitely Cozy! The outdoors are gorgeous and the owners are very friendly and around if you ever need anything! We would love to return! Island Park is beautiful!

This was my fiancé and mines first time seeing Yellowstone. We drove from Massachusetts which was a haul but once we arrived we had our privacy but also had access to the renter Rich. He is very kind and laid back. The drive to Weat Yellowstone entrance is a 20 minute drive which was very close compared to other cabins we looked at (most were 1 hour away) Rich lent us his bear spray which thankfully we did not need to use, but generous to lend it to us. Quiet low key cabin, we awoke one morning at 4am to wolves howling which was lovely to hear. All and all a great place to stay for a couple. Will return in the years to come. Thank you Rich & Diane who we did not meet but that’s okay.

We truly enjoyed our stay at the cabin, it was very cozy, comfortable and clean. We loved the location of being near woods and having a nice view of the lake. Rich, our host was awesome, very friendly and attentive. We are glad we chose to stay in this cabin while visiting Yellowstone.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hunt cabin in a quiet and scenic area. The cabin was clean and and well appointed. The Hunts were very welcoming pleasant people to meet. Henrys Lake is very close for fishing and Yellowstone Park is only about 15 miles away. There are also other interesting sites to see nearby.

We loved staying in this cozy cabin in the woods overlooking Henry’s Lake and near Yellowstone. This place was quiet and perfect for grilling out in the evenings and having coffee on the patio in the cool mornings. Seeing deer walk through the trees next to our cabin was amazing. Hosts were friendly, helpful and had great suggestions for local flare. Highly recommend!

The owner greeted us with a smile showed us around and showed us where everything was and how to use things and was very frowndsly and said if we needed anything to let him know. But we didn't need a thing the place was very nice and clean and I would stay there again.

We stayed at this cabin as a home base for a visit to Yellowstone. It was in a great location in Island Park, which we enjoyed exploring as well, along with a visit to nearby Henry’s lake. The cabin is tucked into the woods with a view of the lake, and was the perfect place to relax and enjoy time on the front porch. Everything we needed was provided, accommodations were comfortable, and the cabin is beautiful!

What a wonderful peaceful location in the woods with a lake view. Totally enjoyed this house outside the tourist trap of West Yellowstone. Our daytrips took 25 minutes to get to the park entrance but it was an easy drive. Definitely a worthwhile stay.

Hello we had an enjoyable vacation at the cabin. It is about 30 minutes from the West Entrance to Yellowstone. The lake is viewable from the cabin but rather far to fish at. Cabin was clean and had a microwave, toaster oven, and a electric cook burner. Location is fairly remote, no big box stores to grab groceries. However, there is a small grocery store in yellowstone area that since we were there each day we went to get some things we needed.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Rich & Diane’s Henry’s Lake Cabin. The cabin was extremely clean, completely stocked with everything we needed and was located in a quiet and convenient location. Rich was a marvelous host with suggestions for dining and offered his freezer and refrigerator for any additional items we may have packed. We would definitely stayed at this cabin again!!

The host was more than accommodating and quickly responded to all questions or concerns we had with our stay. Thank you for sharing your kindness concerning bears and for all of your hospitality. We appreciated our rest with the comfortable bed and opportunity to leave the windows open listening to nature and the rain. We cooked several of our meals and enjoyed watching tv, and nature at the same time through the large cabin windows. When we weren’t resting we took to West Yellowstone’s downtown and the park with a 20-30min drive. We can’t wait to visit again in the future and are in hopes that this home will still be available!

Perfect cabin for two

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in Island Park, located about 25 minutes from the West Gate of Yellowstone. The cabin was well equipped, quiet, comfortable and had breathtaking view of Henry's Lake. Each day we saw pronghorn in the field across the road. After spending long days in the park, it was nice to grill out at the cabin instead of dining out. There are two grocery stores in West Yellowstone, and another small store near the cabin. The owners Rich and Diane live on the property and were wonderful hosts. WiFi was never an issue as it can be in remote locations. We would love to come back one day!
