About this cottage rental
Blanding is surrounded by more National parks and state monuments than anywhere else in the country and this home is the perfect base camp for all of your adventures in the southeastern Utah/ southwestern Colorado region. Our historic home is located in the heart of Blanding; it has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There is a queen size bed in one bedroom, the other bedroom has a full size bed. There is also a pack-n-play fold out crib for your convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, utensils, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, etc... Everything you need to make your own meals. There is also a barbecue grill outside. At one end of the main living area you'll find a couch, recliner, TV and DVD player, and at the other end is the dining table. The large utility room has a washer and dryer, plus enough room for a couple of bicycles, hunting or climbing gear, or anything else you need extra room to store inside during your stay. Very clean and comfortable with lots of updates, yet it retains many of the features you love to see in old homes. We have big plans for the yard but it is currently a work in progress.

Just a lovely home l loved it

I love this home for a couple people to stay. It only has one restroom, which is stated in listing, so that makes it best for a couple or like my Mom and I this last time. The beds are comfortable and the recliner and reclining couch are wonderful after a day out sightseeing. There is plenty of kitchen tools to make a meal and the laundry room is wonderful. Plenty of water pressure and hot water for the two of us. This last stay however showed the one flaw I could find. The house does not have air conditioning as shown on one place in the listing. It does have a swamp cooler, but when it’s warm, that makes a lot of noise in the living room and requires the bedroom window stay cracked at night and also the bedroom door to stay open to get air flow to the bedrooms. Also when eating at the dining room table, the swamp cooler is a pain right next to the table. Would I stay here again? Absolutely. I love this house and usually travel in the winter when a heater is needed at night, not air conditioning. Just wanted to point out the air situation as if we had gone when it was even hotter, it would have made it uncomfortable, especially for my elderly Mom.

We've stayed at this house and other houses in Blanding each year for a decade with no problem. BEWARE! they will attempt to charge you extra for things that did not occur or exaggerations. They charged for my brother's service dog being in the house; the dog never entered the house. They charged for late stay when we were out before the checkout time stated on Vrbo. They charged for extra people in the house, when none of our extended family stayed overnight. We had my ill mother there during the day for us to spend time with. We left the house clean with no damages, had no animals in the house, had no overnight guests, and were out before stated checkout. The host was not to be reasoned with. On the contrary, the only animals in the house were spiders in multiple rooms. The only damages were pre-existing rotten lawn chair fabric we fell through, rotten grill cover held on with stones, rotten/broken mini blinds, and a nail sticking up out of the living room floor for someone to injure themselves on. The impression left on us is that they want to maintain the bare minimum and profit as much as possible even if it means dishonesty. They have the neighbors spy on you, and take their perception as reality, when they can't possibly know the whole truth.

I was only there for one night, I had a good night’s sleep in a comfortable bed. The cottage was clean and the neighborhood was quiet. It was just what I was looking for in Blanding.

Older home. Clean. My only criticism is that the bath tub faucet drips, and I couldn't stop it. Otherwise perfect.

This 2-bedroom house had enough space, comfy beds and even a washer and dryer. All surfaces, appliances, the sink, etc. were super clean. The owner provides not just a coffee maker, but the filters, coffee, powdered creamer and sugar. They also had a drawer with many sizes of zip-lock storage bags which come in very handy when we're travelling and storing snacks, making sandwiches, etc.
Each bedroom had a charging cube with multiple USB ports plus 'regular' outlets. There were digital clocks in each room, a few night lights and various other small but very appreciated touches. I highly recommend this property.
We used it as a home base after travelling down Rt. 95 from Capitol Reef NP, stopping at Natural Bridges on the way to Blanding. From there we visited the Needles District of Canyonlands NP, then south to Monument Valley, Gooseneck State Park and others in the area.

Was a cute little house, easy to get too. Both mattresses have a dip in the middle. Consider replacing. Could not adjust the temperature of the house. Too hot at night. Kitchen fully stocked. Plenty of linens.

The property was very clean and conveniently located. However we were having a heat wave and the swamp cooler did nothing but push hot air around. Other than that, it was fine.

Quaint Cottage
Quaint older home reminiscent of earlier (perhaps 1950s) times. Would love to know the history of the house. Clean and well-kept. The front yard needs a bit of care, but even that didn't bother us. The small kitchen was well-stocked. Plenty of towels in the bathroom. Great place to stay while on the road--like a trip to grandpa and grandma's house.

Loved our stay. Hope to return.
This home was perfect for our extended 10 day vacation in the SE Utah area. We have never been to this area before and there is so much to see and do that we extended our stay for 2 extra days. The home is just as described and very comfortable. Plenty of hot water for a nice long shower after a long day of sight seeing. There are 3 recliners in the living room area, one recliner and two on each end of the couch. The internet is fine and we had no issues with that or phone reception (we have AT&T). The home was clean and since we extended our stay, you should know we enjoyed our stay here. We will definitely stay in this home again if we are ever in the area. Just an added bonus for me was that fact that there is an old cabinet in the kitchen that is just like my Great-Grandparents had in there home (that we now have in our home). It has the coolest latches. The home reminded me of their home, but with modern appliances and such.

Perfect farmhouse
Me and my sons stayed and enjoyed the canyons nearby. This location is nicely placed to see sites in UT, AZ and CO.
The house has everything you need. Kitchen is good to go. The manager was always available to answer questions. This is what I look for in a rental property.

Nice, cozy cottage as described
Very clean cottage equipped with necessary amenities. Blanding is a dead city but the cottage was very comfortable.

Property found to be as advertised.
We agree with the "cozy cottage" description. We would definitely stay here again. It's certainly not the property owner's fault that we were disappointed with restaurant options in Blanding (dry county and mediocre food), but if we had known and planned better, and prepared dinner ourselves at the house with groceries purchased in a larger town, our stay would have been perfect. The kitchen appeared to be well equipped. The drive between Moab and Blanding is spectacular. The day of our stay we had driven through Monument Valley, stopped at Mexican Hat and Goosenecks State Park, drove up the Moki Dugway, and drove the loop road at Natural Bridges -- all 5 star scenic attractions within an easy day's drive.

Perfect home base
My college-age daughter and I stayed in the cottage for our spring break exploration of Bears Ears and Hovenweep. The location was perfect - within walking distance of all of the restaurants in Blanding and with easy access to the highway. The water pressure in the shower was great and the bed in the guest room was particularly comfortable.

Homebase
We loved this small but very comfortable home. It suited our needs as a homebase while we traveled in every direction exploring the different sights. It was central to everything. There was so much to do so much to see. Our five night stay was not enough. Therefore we had to pick and choose the sights we explored. Truly a vacation to remember.

Home away from home.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Cozy Cottage. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. After a long day of hiking it was nice to relax on either the front porch or the comfortable living room furniture. The laundry room was another plus over an ordinary motel room.

We had a great stay. The house was easy to access, was clean and welcoming and had everything we needed to enjoy our weekend.

Great Launch Pad
The house was sparkling clean and well equipped for our family of four. It was nice to have space to spread out a bit, and to have a full kitchen, for under (or the same as) the cost of a hotel room!
Kitchen had a blender and crockpot, which we utilized every day. It was so nice to be able to make smoothies for breakfast and to come back to a steaming hot dinner, ready to go, after a day of strenuous adventuring and hiking. Being able to do laundry is a huge bonus too. WiFi was fast and good.
Towels are plush and nice, and there are plenty of them. Lots of blankets and pillows too! The house has a pack and play crib, FYI (we are past that stage, thankfully). Kids seemed comfortable in their beds (full size and pull out sofa bed), and the queen room was nice and airy, but that queen bed is pretty hard. It would be greatly improved with an egg crate or memory foam pad. ;)
I’d definitely recommended staying at this house, and if in the Blanding area again, I’ll certainly consider a return. Thank you for your hospitality and letting us use your place!

Old but pleasant
Overall, we enjoyed our 3 nights at Cozy Cottage.
We found the house old, but it was clean , the bed was comfortable, the kitchen had all the utensils to prepare our breakfasts and dinners.
The TV was a little disappointing as it only received 4 channels and none of them the majors ( CBS, NBC, ESPN, etc.) and there was no list even showing the channel numbers for those few — you had to channel surf.
Another disappointment was no one advised us how to get into the property. The day before arriving we finally talked with folks at HomeAway who then emailed us the info. That info should have been sent to us before arrival. We never had any correspondence with the owner.
An interesting event on our last day was to find a notice on the door that all utilities would be shut off the following dayfor lack of payment.Since we did not know how to contact the owner directly, we notified HomeAway. That’s a little disconcerting!!!
It is doubtful that we would be staying anywhere in the Blanding, UT area anytime in the near future, but if we we were to, we would consider Cozy Cottage. (Hopefully with all utilities and improved TV)

Great location
This house was perfect for our needs. We were visiting the Blanding/Bluff area and this house was a great location for that. The kitchen was well stocked as were the bathrooms. I was thankful that one bedroom had a fan to stay cool at night. We never ran out of warm water and my kids enjoyed resting on the couch watching the old cartoons ok DVD that were provided.
The only downfalls would be the WiFi didn’t work very well. My phone service is with Sprint which doesn’t work well down there, so having inadequate WiFi was a bummer. Also, the bed in the larger room was very stiff. All-in-all we would stay here again. Thanks Anne for being so accommodating.

Perfect parks hub.
We had a lovely stay. It was a great place to come back to after exploring parks in both Bluff and Moab. Thank you!
