Not West Virginia (where my wife is from) but beautuful scenery, cabin, view from the deck, and weather. We had a great time. Isolated at the cabin but a short drive to shopping and tourist activities. Highly recomend

I absolutely loved my stay. The only down side was the parking. We had a boat and had to park separate from the house. But it was secure and safe. Otherwise, everything was great with an amazing view. Will be returning!

We really enjoy this cabin so much. Its away from all of the craziness and we especially love the wood burning fireplace. Just a sweet place to get away from things for a few days.

Overall experience was good.

Our stay was great. The place was dusty and could have used a fresh up, but over all it was nice

Cabin was exactly as described. Nice & Cozy. Beautiful view. Would recommend backing down the shared drive. Perfect location if want quiet place off the beaten path.

Even more beautiful than you see in the pictures

We loved the view & the peace and quiet. Cabin is beautiful and very comfortable. We would definitely stay again!

We loved the view from the cabin. I wish we had known that they drain the reservoir in September so you really dont have access to the lake.we had a few hiccups like the porch lights not working( it took a few days for the homeowner to fix the problem) also there where alot of cobwebs that i feel the housekeeping should have addressed. The nightlights didnt work so we went to the dollar store to buy new ones. We went to do laundry only to find out the knob to turn the machine on was broken(wish the owner would have told us)overall we did have a great vacation but probably wouldn't go back to Douglas Lake after labor day.

Another great trip at Hideaway with a View! The house is perfect for our family of 3!!!
We put our boat in at the ramp in the community, store our trailer in the trailer lot, and keep the boat at the private dock all week. The cove the cabin is in off Douglas Lake is perfect for paddle boarding. The new steps down to the dock are a welcome addition.
Cabin was clean, A/C was cool, view is incredible as always! Close enough to Pigeon Forge that we went out to dinner every night.
Husband says to make sure you always back down the driveway and make a left when leaving.
I can’t believe people are complaining there isn’t enough TP in these reviews. You’re supposed to bring your own people! (Ok, just had to say it!)
If you ever want to sell, please give us a call!

Clean. Well stocked kitchen. Very Comfortable beds. Incredible view. Very nice dock, we brought our boat. Great porch to sit and drink Your morning coffee and enjoy the view. Steps to the dock not for the faint of heart but that is very normal For this lake. Enjoyed our stay, wish we had stayed longer!

This was my second time at this property, again we enjoyed our time in this awesome place. Love waking up and drinking coffee on deck over looking Douglas Lake. This place is worth the stay, not to far from everything. A 5 ⭐ stay.

Very clean and has most necessities. I had to buy toilet paper and paper towels, only one extra roll provided and we stayed 7 nights. Needs more dinner plates (there’s only 5) and glasses, wine glasses would be great! It’s a great cabin right on the water, the private boat dock is great and in good shape. Great location as well!

This is the second time we have stayed here. Waking up with the water view is wonderful, so relaxing. Very quiet neighborhood and was perfect for our 35th wedding anniversary. Just a short drive to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

The view was amazing! I would've liked to have known that Douglas Lake is actually a reservoir and that it gets drained in September. This causes the personal dock to be non floating and no way to sit on the dock! Was disappointed because I had planned to do some drawings while sitting on dock. Inside was nice, needs detailed cleaning.

The home was a perfect setting with amazing views.

The cabin was clean and the views were BREATHTAKING. Sitting on the porch drinking coffee staring out at the water and autumn colored trees was amazing. The water was down a good bit but I think it made it more beautiful, and there were still boats out and plenty of fish surfacing that I could see. It felt secluded and was far enough away from the traffic of the tourist areas but close enough to all the fun. I wish there was WiFi as I had no cell service (my husband and friends luckily did have some service tho), and a hot tub would have been nice but not a deal breaker. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time at this property. It has a beautiful wraparound porch that gives you a beautiful view of the lake. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. It was the perfect place to stay for our getaway.

We really like this cabin! The cleaning people didn’t do such a good job as we kept finding crushed pop tarts and popcorn kernels all over. The stairs are a killer but better than last yr walking up a steep hill with nothing to hold onto. Great place overall! Quiet and peaceful! Great communication with the owner. Beautiful view

Very clean, comfortable cabin with everything you need. The beds are super comfortable and it’s great having a bathroom connected to each bedroom. It’s a really quiet and safe area which is hidden from the road which I like. The wrap around deck has amazing views of the lake with plenty of seating and a great place to enjoy the peaceful scenery. We will definitely stay here again and are already planning which week to book for next year. The newly built steps to the dock make it easier to get to but it’s about 60 steps total so just be prepared. The only recommendation I have is there needs to be more dishes. There’s only 5 plates and 5 bowls so every time you eat anything you have to wash them. A serving for 12 would allow 2 meals without running out. Also different sizes of drinking glasses, smaller ones for kids would be great. Lastly, there should be hand soap at the sinks. When I got there I used the bathroom and there was no soap to wash my hands. I asked about that and someone dropped off two bars of soap so problem was solved quickly. For the price you cannot beat this cabin I give it 10/10 !!

Favorite get away
This is our 4th time renting this property and we love it more and more each time! We were pleased to find new furniture and a stairs to the deck built this year! There is nothing more beautiful than the sunsets from the deck of this cute little cabin! Truly a great place! Thank you for allowing us to enjoy a few days of R & R at the lake! We will see you next year!

Had a very nice time and the cabin was pretty clean. Seems that they rushed in and out to clean and miss debris on floors. Bathroom was just ok. We sat on the porch with the beautiful view every morning into early afternoon and every evening. Not sure what the big building to the left was, but there was constant noise from there. Either some kind of equipment or people. There was also some kind of construction going on on at a property over to the right. Earthmoving equipment and lots of noise. Kind of ruined some of the calm, quiet days we were looking for. I have to comment that you certainly need a new up-to-date toaster. Besides being really gross, you can't even fit a piece of bread in it and it barely works. A 4-slice toaster would be a huge asset for breakfasts. The only other comment would be about the TV. Some directions on how to use would be helpful. We could not figure out if you had Netflix or didn't know how to access it other premium channels. The outside view was fantastic and we spent most of our time outside when we were there. Please tell me you do wash the bedspreads after each guest leaves? From your laundry and sheet instructions, it didn't seem that way.. It's a beautiful cabin with good amenities. We enjoyed our stay and prayed every day when we went out of the driveway that we would not get hit by oncoming traffic that you could not see coming from either direction. It's quite the driveway. But we saw many other similar situations in our driving around your area. Thanks for your hospitality and the use of your cabin. Douglas Lake is a beautiful lake in a beautiful setting and we were happy to be able to experience it for 6 days and nights.

Awesome view with your own boat dock
We stayed here during the heat wave in June and really enjoyed the lake! We had our private dock for our boat, which is really hard to find, especially for the price of this house. The owner was very easy to communicate with. We didn't have hot water so I called her before we went out on the lake. By the time we got back, it was already fixed. You can't get a better view of the best lake around! The only thing I would recommend is that they get a gas grill. Otherwise, everything was perfect and we will definitely be staying there again!

The cabin is beautiful on the inside. The view of the lake is great. The small private uncovered dock is a nice touch and a good place to sunbath or dock a boat. The Large porch is "perfect". I really like the community boat launch. My wife and I enjoyed the atmosphere and caught lots of fish. Helpful Note for those bring a boat: If you wish to park boat on trailer at the cabin, you have to back all the way down the driveway. If you are not good with a trailer, you might want to launch boat, leave at dock and park trailer in designated area. We would definitely stay here again!

Convenient with a beautiful view. There was an issue with the septic that was being worked on so it was a stinky stay. The beds were amazing and made up or the stinky septic. The cameras on the porch made it a little awkward being on the porch.

The cabin was very nice, however it was awful trying to get to the cabin. The drive was washed out and our vehicle would drag every time we went in and out. The sewage was all over the ground. The smell was terrible even in the cabin.
