We really enjoyed the large picture window and the deer watching, harbor watching and spectacular moon rises it provided. The original home was built in 1840 so the history of this property is very interesting. It is such a great escape to a quiet area and a great way to experience a little slower pace after visits to Bar Harbor. The perfect Maine experience for our family!

Quaint Old New England Home with modern amenities on the quiet side of the Mount Desert Island, you should advertise as such. I am sure people would love to stay just because of that! There is a lot of history in the home, we loved that! I would put up some of the black and white old pictures and give a background of the history of the house and area then play that up. That would be great for advertising and people would love to read about the home. The house was clean and just as described. It would be good to have a larger TV in the living room and some extra blankets for the bedrooms as it did get cold at night, even in June. You may want to let people know that because this is an older home the floors are uneven, which is part of it's charm but may be helpful to know for elderly guests.
We loved our stay in your home on the quiet side of the island.

Very nice home, could almost be called a cottage with the wooden floors and sloped ceilings and clawfoot tub upstairs. Wonderful for our family. We could all eat together at the dining table. We prepared most of our meals in the kitchen and used the grill. Beautiful views of the water and waking up to see deer on the grounds was just amazing.

Great stay and nice space. Get ready for numerous deer! House is 'quaint', and really 1.5 baths, not 2- BUT the downstairs bathroom does not disappoint! We slept 6 adults very comfortable and with good water supply / water heat- had no issues. Great view, but there was no croquet set (locked in the garage you cannot use)- this was minor, but I brought 4 bikes up and there was no storage for rainy days. No fire pit or fireplace use was a bummer and unexpected compared to many other places we have rented in Acadia. Grill was nice though for fish we caught on charter. TV room space is great for family time/movies, but couch is uncomfortable and recliners need to be replaced. We didnt care much about that, just a comment. Great kitchen area and pot for cooking up lobsters!, and useful dining room space for computer/internet work details however the wifi was not good from there. You can function, but not one day was I able to process fast enough at 10am when they release spots to reserve a Caddilac mtn. sunrise reservation (now required)- no worries, we hiked it anyways. I was able to surf well enough to find the charter, and a local golf course. Overall, not our usual, but I think it was worth it!- and it afforded a different and wonderful view and area. I am sold on the fact that the West side of MDI island and near SW Harbor is particularly where you want to setup shop for a week. We have done it all, and really to enjoy it, off island is too far- SW is perfect, Thank you!

The property is clean and efficient, with a great view. Loved all the does and their fawns who visited us daily too.

Cute house - reminded me of my great grandmothers house. It’s old and the downstairs is well kept. Upstairs bathroom has a make shift shower connected to what could be a great claw foot bathtub unfortunately it is only usable w a very low shower connected to the spigot via screws/tubing. Downstairs was old and cute if you only need one bathroom and 2 bedrooms this makes a great place to stay.We really couldn’t use the upstairs bath so sharing was a bit of a pain for 7 people. Dog friendly was a plus. Hopefully the “security system” installed w several small devices placed so that it covered the entire downstairs is only motion detection and not cameras- they seemed to blink when we walked near them- it was a lil creepy bc why would you need that when ppl are there renting it?

Older home, but beautiful location. Very quiet and relaxing

This property is in an amazing location but needs some significant care (inside and out) to march the beauty of the location.
The second floor needs be totally updated ( the unusable bathroom first) and the first floor, while much more workable, leaves a lot to be desired. The space outdoors need to be rethought to create enjoyable outdoor space. An example would be to put the grill in back and expand parking to not obstruct the
amazing view.
We enjoyed our time there despite these challenges and will provide other thoughts through a different medium if interested.

This coastal hidden gem is like stepping back in time. With the exception of a hiccup, we absolutely loved staying here. Views from the front of the house are exceptional. A one minute walk to the rocky shore line is breathtaking. Close proximity to everything...30 min to Bar Harbor and the Hulls Cove Visitor center. This was our first time in Maine and we're hooked!

We loved the old feel of this property, which had a very genuine “old man by the sea” feel. It was beautiful and just what we needed to have a great time near Acadia.

Great location if looking for a quieter experience. Part of the house is older and reminiscent of my grandparents farm house. I’d suggest bringing hdmi adapter to access entertainment via your phone/device for those cloudy/foggy evenings.

This home is on the quiet side of MDI, and has waterfront access, which is great. The sunrises are amazing and right in the picture window. A great place for stargazers as well. The kitchen is clean and well equipped. The bedrooms and bathrooms are in need of some TLC. This place could be knockout with a few upgrades.

The house is a wonderful and peaceful retreat with a very lovely water view. Neighboring houses are either far enough or concealed by greenery. The surrounding grass area is great for reading, or for cooking on the grill and eating. The water edge is five minutes on foot and one can take fun walks on the rocky shore. You can see the sunrise from the living room! The house is old, it must be one of the original houses in the area. The charm is magnified by antique furnishings still kept at the house. That being said, the first floor (two double bedrooms) has been renovated and refreshed in the appropriate period style. The second / attic level has the other two double bedrooms. The kitchen is contemporary and fully equipped. The house has all you need - basic toiletries, detergent, bedding, and towels. The owners left many helpful notes which goes to show they care about their guests. Bottom line, highly recommended, would be happy to come back.

Our family enjoyed such an extraordinary two weeks at the Seawall Road house, we never want to leave! The house is so relaxed and cozy, it was clearly a much-loved home for the lucky people who lived here through the years. We explored the rocky shoreline every day in addition to romping around all of the delights of MDI. If you seek a quiet and serene getaway, this home will be a great place to nest.

Charming home with charm and character

The house was plenty big, clean, and filled with kitchen supplies, linens, and towels. It has a beautiful view of the ocean where you can grill, eat at the picnic table, and play games. It is close to Echo lake which has plenty to do and also a short drive to Bar Harbor and other park sites. We had an amazing family trip. Thanks for sharing your home!

Roomy home with everything you will need. Beautiful view, quiet setting (we saw several deer in the front yard), and a homey feel.

The house is large and very lived in. It is in a nice quiet area with a water view in the distance. The walls and dining room ceiling are covered in various wallpapers, primarily flowers. There are lots of pictures and collectibles to look at. It’s very interesting. It was fairly clean and there were lots of towels but no toiletries. The beds have been around awhile and were a bit swishy but had fine linens. I didn’t hear much from Mark and was not sure what to do but when we called for instructions he was really helpful and a delight to talk with.
