Stayed for four nights while visiting Acadia NP. Great for relaxing. Suficient breakfast to start your day (fruit, coffee, granola bars). Quiet, good ambience and friendly staff. Will certainly go back.

We were visiting the Bar Harbor area and the Inn is in a nice quiet area on the island. The rooms were cleaned daily and the staff was accommodating. When we arrived it was all fully humid and our host brought in an air conditioner after hours. If we decide to stay again we’ll definitely stay at Harbourside Inn. Breakfast is coffee , tea and a choice of fruit and breakfast bars. There is an breakfast porch where you can meet other travelers.

Such a treat but also low key in a way we appreciated. Walking distance to downtown Northeast Harbor and a few carriage hikes. Room on third floor was lovely - firm beds if that’s your thing! Grounds were beautiful!

We loved being able to be close to Bar Harbor, but being able to come back at night to a quiet area.

Great stay. Perfect location if you want to paddle on Echo Lake. My only wish was that coffee was available a little earlier than 7AM. :)

What a lovely place to stay! This was a peaceful and beautiful alternative to the typical Bar Harbour stay, and it is within minutes of Acadia National Park. Christine was very helpful when we checked in. The room and the inn were charming, and the people were amazing. Highly recommend!

Really nice, quiet place to stay if you’re visiting Acadia NP. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Restaurant selection is probably better in Bar Harbor but Bar Harbor is anything but quiet. We chose to visit the park, eat an early dinner in Bar Harbor, and return to a quiet place to rest. Would do exactly the same if we did it again.

Great place to stay when visiting Bar Harbor and surrounding areas.

This property is an historic inn. The owners are very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The inn has several common area rooms for guests to use. The breakfast is continental offering fresh baked muffins, fruits, protein bars, a variety of instant oatmeal, coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. There is endless hot water for showering/bathing, the towels are 1st class and large, body wash, shampoo and conditioner are 1st class. The owners put together a fire for their guests that are easy to light each evening. We enjoyed 3 evenings of fires. The location is very convenient for entering Acadia National Park or driving to Bar Harbor but is much quieter, less crowded and less expensive than Bar Harbor. We stayed here for 5 nights /4 days and enjoyed every minute of them. We highly recommend this property and would stay here again.

Did not care for the fact there were no elevators and we were on the 3rd floor. No television and our shower was a clawfoot bath tub which was very difficult to get in and out of. Definitely not the place for those 65 and older.

Michael at check-in was nice. Location good re: entrances to Acadia N.P. Comfortable mattress. Hot water. Coffee good and breakfast fruit tasty, if there is any left; if arrive in last hour of breakfast window, only bananas are left and other fruit, granola bars, etc. are not replenished. Smell from campfire smoke comes inside bedroom.

My daughter and I loved our stay at the Harbourside Inn. We loved being in Northeast Harbor. Close to the national park but away from the touristy bustle of Bar Harbor. The inn was classic New England. Our room was bright and clean, and the property itself was beautiful. I would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful and clean inn with charming rooms, but small “breakfast”.

The inn is a charming, quintessential New England style building tucked just off of the main road. The room we stayed in was very spacious. Everything was kept very clean. We loved the freshly baked breakfast muffins and fruit, but wish they offered a protein option (eggs, meat, etc...) for those of us who were doing some serious hiking. Overall, it was lovely.

Very nice old property that is kept up very well and very convenient to Acadia. Continental breakfast was somewhat limited, but homemade baked goods were a treat!

This large home, built well over 100 years ago, was the perfect place for us to spend four nights in Northeast Harbor. Our bedroom (room 1) had a small kitchen, equipped, with a perfectly functioning fridge that had to be 70 years old, with everything we needed. Every room was filled with delightful antiques furnishings. We enjoyed all of the public spaces, including a fire pit, two sitting areas, and a breakfast room. Breakfast consisted of a variety of fresh-baked muffins, fruit, oatmeal, and different packaged granola bars and donuts. The coffee was very good and plentiful! We were in Maine to escape the heat, hike, and eat lobster, and we accomplished all of these things right in NEH. We were able to walk into the village in about 8-10 minutes and find a few great restaurants. We took a nature cruise (Princess Line) right from the marina in town, and we were able to take extensive hikes from trails starting just behind the inn. NEH is a perfect location for people like us (mid-50’s) who want a quieter stay than Bar Harbor. Also, do not hesitate to use the free and excellent bus service that serves Mount Desert. Parking in BH is awful, so just walk into the village and grab the free bus! We recommend driving about 6 minutes to Abel’s Lobster Restaurant. It has a casual outdoor area where we sat, right on the water, and ate amazing lobster! We are already looking forward to returning.

We stayed for 3 nights on our trip to Acadia and this place was exactly what we wanted and needed. The inn is charming and you feel at home. It's rustic without feeling dingy or stuffy. The room was sizable and the kitchenette was great for prepping lunch. We grilled outside every night and sat by the fire pit into the evening. We barely heard or saw other guests. The light breakfast was perfect for our early morning. We spent 2 days getting up and out to hikes in Acadia National Park - both trailheads were under 20 min from the inn. Bar Harbour was also a 15 min drive, along with Southwest Harbour, which is a lot quieter and nice to walk around. One night we walked into the town of Northeast Harbour to get ice cream at Colonel's - we went back for donuts in the morning, highly recommend. We also did a short hike out the back of the inn on a well marked trail. We loved the area and hope to be back!

Quaint, quiet, authentic. Not walking distance to Bar Harbor but not a bad drive either. Not many restaurants or shops. Acadia is close. Claw foot tub is nice but no grab bars and difficult to get in and out of. No vents in bathroom but had a window. Had problems with skeleton key for entry/departure. No elevator, no tv.
Historical and cute. Stairs with heavy suitcases could be a problem. If any mobility issues stay on first floor.

We were very satisfied with our accommodations.

We loved our stay. It’s a beautiful property in an idyllic setting. As a senior with bad knees, we were in a third floor room with a footed bathtub, both presented challenges, however the staff were quite willing to help with our bags, so it all worked out. We would highly recommend the Harbourside Inn. Did I mention the warm blueberry muffins and fruit, along with a choice of other breakfast treats? And the beds were super comfortable after long days of hiking in the park.

It is so clean and quiet! Staff is super friendly. We asked for a hot pot, the staffer found one for us and sent it to our room, which I’ve appreciated very much. We enjoyed staying in this hotel.
