Next time we are in Staithes we will stay here again.
We love the charm of these cottages along the East Yorkshire Coast. Flither Cottage was warm and welcoming. good sized rooms and a bathroom with bath and separate shower.
The Seagulls were noisy!!! LOL

Disappointing
The lounge is dismal dirty and depressing. The colour scheme dark grey is awful and the 2 tiny settees are incredibly uncomfortable. The clutter of plates and beakers and shells on a plate rack around the lounge are ugly old fashioned and just dust and spider collectors. The kitchen was ok and ok to eat at the table. The bedrooms were ok. Comfy beds. But wallpaper dingy and peeling off the walls. The garden was a mess with planters with weeds in and very inaccessible from the basement. We spent as little time as possible at the cottage. Thankfully the weather was kind and we walked.

Expensive stay £320 for 3 nights in ‘ok’ condition
Location of house First pub on the left going down the road. WiFi
Parking/lack of instructions - we gained a £70 parking fine by parking in residents car park considering we were residing there and the either car parks are pay and display. Maybe leave clear instructions re the exact car park or add to the A4 laminated sheet with ticket that you put in your car. Decoration needs updating/redoing. Deep clean, don’t like cobwebs or thick dust on surfaces. Scaffolders parking directly outside the front door and window for 2 hours obstructing access and making excessive noise. At first glance the windows appear ‘painted shut’ it was only when my partner who is a joiner had a look, realised the ‘sash windows’ are in fact top openers. Could potentially be a fire hazard if you aren’t experienced in windows and openings. Hearing the kids clear as day playing in the attic when you’re sat 2 floors below - seriously sounds like stampede of elephants! Maybe some insulation would help.
