About this cabin rental
Originally owned as a hunting cabin by members of the Hershey (chocolate) family, the cabin is nestled on the lush side of Lake Arrowhead, in Arrowhead Villas. When you arrive, you will find the Hershey Cabin to be a very inviting, quiet, immaculate, and comfortable mountain home. The cabin is situated about one mile south of Lake Arrowhead Village, at an elevation of 5,500 feet, with easy parking directly in front of the property. The classic craftsman style shingle home is situated on a quiet road and is surrounded by beautiful firs, pines, and cedars.

Our intent is to keep the cabin in top notch shape - Therefore it must be left in a neat and clean condition upon checkout. We charge extra for excessive cleanup.
Upon entering the cabin you will notice the excellent restoration job. In addition, the cabin has been professionally decorated by my wife, an interior designer, who is experienced in incorporating comfort and elegance into home decor. It is furnished with both modern furnishings and antiques, providing the creature comforts of modern day while maintaining the old-fashioned warmth of a traditional Lake Arrowhead cabin. For your enjoyment, we decorate for each season.
The Hershey Cabin has rustic knotty pine/redwood walls and ceiling, a beautifully hand-crafted quartz rock fireplace, a massive pine mantel, and porcelain slate tile floors with traditional wool rugs. In addition to central air conditioning & heating, it has dual pane windows and is fully insulated. Above the fireplace is a Samsung (2020) 4K, smart TV with the super easy to use Fire TV Cube. We provide Netflix, Amazon Prime, MAX, PBS Masterpiece, Acorn, BritBox, Hallmark, crackle, freevee, tubi, Pandoras etc. We have very high speed (1 Gig up & down) Frontier fiber-optic internet, with an Amazon eero Wi-Fi router mesh system. The living room is a perfect place for you to snuggle up by the fire with each other, and either read or watch a movie.
The bathroom has porcelain slate tile, granite, and a frameless glass shower. The completely remodeled kitchen has gorgeous granite counter tops, new cupboards, and stainless-steel appliances. It is fully equipped with all the amenities of home.
The bedroom has knotty pine walls and ceiling, with a view from the windows that makes you feel as if you are nestled in a tree house. In the dressing area, you will note that there are two armoires and an antique, vanity make-up dresser. The queen bed has a high-quality memory foam mattress (rated medium firmness) along with beautiful, cozy bedding. Step out the bedroom door onto a wonderful wrap-around deck, with bistro tables and chairs where you can enjoy a glass of wine or a meal amongst the trees!
We provide an easy-to-use binder at the cabin, with our twelve favorite walks/short hikes in Lake Arrowhead and the surrounding areas. The binder provides maps, descriptions, mileage, estimated time, etc. For the more adventurous hikers, we provide books/maps describing hikes in the San Bernardino Forest. You can also fish and swim in nearby Lake Gregory or in Big Bear Lake.
The Lake Arrowhead area is a little hidden gem, with a quaint village, wonderful local restaurants, and various shopping opportunities. If you are looking for a romantic get-away, or just a place to relax and have fun, this is just the place. Cabin was quaint and beautiful. Very nicely furnished. Very comfortable! Streaming TV and internet worked very well. We had a great time exploring the area around Arrowhead Lake and also other nearby lakes. We had a wonderful week!

The cabin is so cozy! Kitchen has everything a guest could need.
Paul was a great host. When the guests who stayed there before us notified him that the AC wasn't working. Paul called us to let us know before we arrived. He let us know that he had already called the AC repair guys. When we arrived, they were there working on it. The repairs were quickly taken care of, and it worked perfectly our entire stay.
I absolutely loved the view from bed each morning. I didn't want to get out of bed!
We loved the labels all over the cabin. So helpful.
We would absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful weekend at Hershey Cabin! It was clean, well-stocked, and a beautiful cabin. Our hosts were helpful and gave lots of tips for finding things to do in the area.

Cabin was great, quite and peaceful neighborhood. Clean and well kept. My spouse and myself really enjoyed our time we spent together. Lake and stores close by. Over all we really enjoyed and are looking forward to staying again in the future.

My now Husband and I stayed in this cute little cabin on the night of our wedding and throughout the whole weekend and it was so perfect! We had reached out to the owner to see if we could drop our bags off a little earlier than check-in because we wouldn’t be getting to the house until really late at night, and they were very understanding and accommodating. Communication with the owners was absolutely phenomenal and helpful. The house was beautifully renovated, and everything was labeled clearly with instructions. We spent most of the weekend in front of the fireplace, watching Netflix and playing some of the board games they had provided. Our favorite part was the beautiful view from the bedroom. It’s like sleeping in the treetops! We can’t wait to stay here again for our anniversary.

The cabin was lovely and had everything you could need. The hosts were very accommodating and gracious.
I was surprised that Lake Arrowhead is so crowded with houses. They are on small lots and seemed on top of each other. So it wasn’t the wilderness experience I was expecting. Also not very tourist friendly as only homeowners are allowed to use the lake.

I have found this wonderful the Historic Hershey Cabin when I was searching for a place for myself for retreat.
I enjoyed every minute of my stay in this special cabin. First of all, this unique cabin is the best for a single traveler or for a couple who look for a romantic getaway or just a retreat in the forest. The owner Paul and his wife literally thought every details you might need during your stay. Everything was 10 out of ten for me. I will definitely will stay in this place. Thank you Paul for creating and sharing this amazing place with us.

It was very relaxing. It was so quiet. It was a quiet time in Lake Arrowhead also. We felt so at ease, and you can enjoy the moment with nature. We went out on the porch and took in the cool sunshine and the smell of the pine trees. We played a couple of games and listened to music.

Loved the cabin. Spent most of weekend hanging out and playing games around the fireplace. Very cozy cabin. Perfect size for a couple. Close to everything. Was a chilly weekend in Arrowhead, but the cabin was very warm. Loved the heated mattress. Will be back.

We came up hoping for a little snow, well we got 9 inches and in the cabin for three days straight. Couldn’t of picked a better place to be snowed in. Come stay at this wonderful cabin.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nite get-away in this lovely historical cabin where the hard work and pride in the renovation of the property shows at every level. Loved waking up feeling like we were in a treehouse with views of only trees around us and during the evening we were very comfy in the living area in front of the fireplace. The kitchen was well appointed and instructions to all amenities were readily available, easy to follow and communication with the host as great. Location was perfect, not far from the lake and village as well as Skyforest and Blue Jay. We will definitely be back again when the weather is warmer and we are able to take advantage of hiking nearby and lake activities.

We came for a 3 day getaway and a wedding. It is gorgeous cabin that is a jewel in the mountains. When looking out the windows, it feels like you are in a cozy treehouse. It is decorated beautifully and has every amenity you could possibly want or need.

Overall we loved this property. The cabin is very classic yet updated and well appointed. It's a great little escape from the hectic world we live in. All of the woodwork makes you feel like you are in a cabin in the woods, which you are so it's perfect. :-) The kitchen and bath were well equipped. The living room was cozy and comfy. The bedroom was nice and looking through the windows you felt you were in a treehouse up in the trees. The room did get a little bright in the morning for my wife as she must have thin eyelids. :-) I didn't mind. They do call that out in the listing and told us to bring eye coverings if we were bothered by morning light.
The surrounding areas is very quite and peaceful. We saw a coyote wander through the property on the first night and what I believe was a small bobcat on the second night. Nature at it's finest. :-)
The cabin is fairly close to the main village, maybe 1.5 miles or so, but it's not what I would call walking distance because of the steep slopes and narrow roads. Driving in Lake Arrowhead is interesting because the roads are pretty narrow with lots of hairpin turns and blind intersections. I cannot image driving around here in the winter with snow on the ground, but I can imagine it is beautiful.
To summarize, the cabin is great. The owners are great. The location is great. Lake Arrowhead is great. The roads are paved. :-)

This beautifully restored cabin for two was state of the art! Warm & tasteful furnishings, comfy bed (could have used 2 extra pillows & luggage rack) loved the smart TV and variety of games. Kitchen had nearly everything we needed (except sharp knives, measuring cup & spoons). No outdoor BBQ, but wrap around deck was great, only disturbed by loud music from red house in back). Not much room for belongings in the bathroom, but the vanity area more than made up for it! Great location, close to Village & market. Thanks for having the National Forest Adventure Pass handy for parking at the Heaps Peak Arboretum hike. Riding the Queen was a must! Wine tasting in Crestline by appointment at Sycamore Ranch was wonderful. Weather was perfect, in the 70's, not crowded after Labor Day, people so friendly. Really relaxed and unwound during our 6 days at the Hershey cabin. Would love to come back!

Very comfortable and very well appointed cabin for two. Clean, terrific kitchen--small but everything you need. Comfortable bed. Great area. Sat on the deck among the trees morning and night. Very responsive host. You will relax. Lake Arrowhead town center is just a few miles away with good restaurants, a Stater Bros. grocery, and the lake is lovely. We will return.

The place was immaculate and charming. After a day on the Lake via tour boat and having dinner in the village we enjoyed the rest of the evening in the cabin. We like to play chess and were delighted when we found the chess game since we forgot ours. You couldn't ask for a better view of the stars right from the bedroom. And morning coffee and muffins from the balcony and listening to nature, peace and tranquility was all we needed. Thank you both!!
