We had a blast even though it rained most of our stay. That's the mountains! Hiked in the rain, fished in the rain, played in the rain. Killer Monopoly games inside at night. So much porch time where we never got wet. Coffee and wine always taste better on the porch.

It is extremely frustrating to communicate. I am getting a six number code, but I am unable to leave a message. I forget a very thin gold chain in the bedroom to the right at the top of the stairs. I think it is either on top of the dresser, or possibly on the bed or floor. Please let me know if you find it. The house I lovely and nicely furnished. We enjoyed our stay.

The property was gorgeous and it was easy for all of us to get ready for various wedding activities. The porch was just incredible. We had trouble getting the side door to porch locked properly.

The setting of the home and the coziness is absolutely perfect! Beautiful piece of property on the river, wrap around porch, all rooms have en suite bathrooms, we loved the two living rooms and the large round table for dining together. Super comfortable home well stocked with all your basic provisions. That is very appreciated. The location is perfect to explore all the nearby towns. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back in the summer.

Everything needed for comfort and peace is provided. Very clean and well provisioned. Spacious, with two living areas inside and lots of covered porch seating. Very quiet and no traffic on this small lane, watched the deer crossing the fields every day! Easy to reach - no steep driveway.

This is our second time our family has enjoyed this beautiful home. We were fortunate to be there during peak leaf color, and it was awesome! I have always loved the Valle Crucis area. The location particularly worked great this trip, as our grandson attending App State was able to join us. Just as our first stay, everything was amazing!

The property exceeded our expectations. Our group was in the area for a reunion gathering near Vilas so we didn’t get to take full advantage of the beautiful cabin on the Watauga River. We’d definitely go back!

This home is a perfect log cabin with plenty of room for your family. Lots of restrooms. The decor is wonderful. The wrap around porch is the best. I do have to say that the TV situation is a most review. The main living room downstairs does not have a TV. It does on the second floor. It would be better on the first floor where your family gathers for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you went with adults, it would be easier to entertain then hauling refreshments and drinks up to the second floor. Most importantly is the streaming to watch TV. Most old folks do not know how and that includes me. Please don't let this keep you away from this home. We really enjoyed it very much. I give it a BIG 10....

Our family tries to go to an ASU game at least once a season. A little disappointed when we found their was no tv on main level. After ASU game was over we came back fixed dinner and watched other games (we brought a tv with us and set up on main level) loved the stream and wrap around deck.

We always enjoy staying here. Clean, cozy home in an area where the kids can explore outside. Close enough scenic drives to skiing and tubing (20-30 min), and right near valle crucis park. Instacart delivers groceries

This property provides a most relaxing and totally pampered resort style environment. Sitting on the edge of the Watauga river,, fly fishing is a few steps away. A stone encircled firepit offers an opportunity for everyone to enjoy the fire and experience nature at its best. A deck overlooks the lake for those who want to sit and hear the water and see the lake herons flying up and down the river. The house is private and comfortable with a large gas fireplace in the living room. There is a wide covered porch on three sides of the house with many choices of seating. What an overall wonderful weekend our family had while staying at Rivers Edge.

The huge wrap-around porch was where we spent most of our time while at the cabin. The Valle Crucis location places Riverside Lodge smack in the middle of all desirable activities. Our son is an avid fly fisherman and had never put so many contiguous days in a river...and with good success. The large yard and fire pit came in handy and we happened to hit a perfect weather window for August, no temps higher than 78 nor lower than the high 50s.
While enjoying my wine and the porch one evening, I booked Riverside Lodge for 2023. We'll be back.

This was a great getaway destination. The house was very clean and well stocked with kitchen essentials. We enjoyed the outdoors but wish it had been a little easier to reach the river. With everything growing it’s probably time for some bushes to be trimmed to help with viewing the lovely property from the porch. Grill needs some serious cleaning. Other than that our stay was very nice. We would like to return next year.

A beautiful cabin with a lovely yard and great location! What more could you ask for? We love getting away to this cabin! There is no better place to enjoy Valle Crucis than the large wrap-around porch or the deck overlooking the Watauga River!

Comfortable stay
We were in the mountains for the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. The house was a comfortable place after a hectic day on the mountain. We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching the fireflies.
