About this cabin rental

Original 2 bedroom log cabin on the Ausable River. This charming log cabin is located on Hulls Falls Road, a quiet back road, that is picturesque perfect. You will find some of the area's best swimming, scenery, and fly fishing in the area.
The cabin has a beautiful river rock fireplace in the spacious living room which makes for a great meeting room for games, conversation, and relaxation. There are 2 bedrooms, each with a queen bed, and one full bathroom with a walk in shower and one half bath, both recently renovated. The living room also has 1 fold out futon.
The kitchen boasts authenticity with a unique antler light fixture, exposed beams, all wrapped in natural wood. Everything you might need for preparing your own meals is stored away in the abundant kitchen cabinets. Two coffee makers, a microwave, mixer, blender, wine glasses, etc., it is all there for your use.
The lush outdoors invites you to sit and enjoy the sights and sounds while sitting on the screened porch or the detached deck overlooking the river. There is plenty of room for setting up your volleyball or badmitton net, or throw a few frisbies around on the open playground next to the river. An open firepit is great for long summer evening conversations or roasting marshmallows with the kids.

We liked the Red Cabin enough to return two years later. We NEVER visit the same place twice. Great kitchen, awesome bathroom, comfy beds... check. Nice and cool despite the heat due to the massive tree shade...check. Firepit, stargazing, screened-in porch...check. Private swimming area with a natural spa--this time we made it to the rapids which felt like a massage on the body. I know we shall return again for a long weekend. This little cabin is that special.

My brothers and I could not have been happier coming home from our daily hiking trips to this cabin. So easy to take a dip in the Ausable and then prop our feet up by the fire pit. Kitchen was fully equipped for easy meal prep, comfy beds and the screened in porch was a favorite for early mornings and a rainy evening or two. The property was even better than we expected! We can't wait to return.

The cabin was absolutely gorgeous and very peaceful. The sounds of the river were amazing to listen to and would put you to sleep!! I will most certainly rent again!!

Authentic rustic log cabin with a modern kitchen/bathroom addition and a nice location across the road from the river. Great for one or two people but could be a bit cramped with any more.

The cabin was everything we hoped for in a short winter getaway. Warm comfort by the fireplace. Well provisioned kitchen. Nicely remodeled bathroom. The setting in the Keene Valley is gorgeous. Really appreciated the detailed guest information sheet including local recommendations.

We have stayed at many cabins over the years in the Adirondacks which doesn't have the charm of this home. They don't build them like this anymore! The originality and preservation of this cabin is wonderful. Awesome fireplace with excellent venting (we used it each of the 5 evenings we were there). Everything was provided that we needed.

Great little cabin. Conveniently located to Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. Bob is an excellent host. Quickly responds to questions. Had a little issue checking in that was NOT his fault. VRBO didn’t send me the check in code to get the key. Called Bob and he answered immediately and gave me the code. Only other thing to keep in mind is if you have AT&T as your cell phone provider you will not have service at the cabin. This wasn’t that big an issue as there is Wi-fi and at the end of the road (5 min drive) you have service. Would definitely rent this cabin again.

The cabin is rustic but very clean. Every dish in the kitchen was sparkling, which is not always the case with rentals. The area is lovely . If you are looking for a slow pace and a beautiful environment, this is it.

Had a wonderful stay at the cabin. We had been there before but not since the bathroom upgrade with walk in shower and the addition of the screened in front porch. Very nice! And the big Roku tv was also welcomed. Love how the cabin is a perfect blend of rustic originality and modern comforts. Strong wifi, good water pressure, and the rushing Ausable River across the road along with a view of the mountains make this a very special place. Thank you Bob for another enjoyable trip.

Beautiful location and convenient to Keene Valley and Lake Placid and beyond. Cabin was large and comfortable. Clean and well appointed kitchen, living room and bath. Screened Front Porch was lovely as well as the fire ring and chairs. Comforts of home with the beauty and peace of the river and woods. Thank you to the generous Host BG!

The cabin is just as described and pictured in the listing-no surprises which was good. It's rustic but clean for being in a wooded area. The sounds of the river across the street are soothing and pleasant. We saw/heard very little traffic on the road in front of the cabin. We enjoyed the fire pit and the large screened in porch. The updated bathroom was quite nice. Bob, the owner, responded promptly to any questions we had. Overall a great place to stay near Lake Placid and we would definitely come back.

Great location and very quaint log cabin. The kitchen had all you could ask for. Large shower with great water pressure. It was very relaxing. The location to the river was excellent with fairly easy access. The stove and mattresses could use updating but otherwise we found this very comfortable and enjoyed our stay. The property owner is very pleasant to work with.

The red cabin was perfect and cozy. We arrived to a clean cabin and felt “home away from home.” Nice screened in porch to sit and listen to the Ausable across the road. Our host was very communicative and accommodating. We will be back.

Stayed five nights while doing day hikes throughout the ADK with my dog- this cabin was an excellent base of operations for my trip. Plenty of room, fully furnished, and clean. Located within about a mile of Keene, but very quiet and peaceful. Having access to the AuSable River was a terrific bonus, too- my dog and I had a great time exploring it. I hope to stay here again on my next trip!

My family and I had a great time at the little red cabin! We can’t get enough of winter snow sports, and spent time snowshoeing, skiing Whiteface, playing ice hockey on Mirror Lake, and cross country skiing. Snowball fights, snow forts, and sledding. Ended the trip with a cozy fire in the fireplace. Plan to come back this summer!

The cabin is on a nice back road, and the nearest neighbor is around a bend, so it is perfectly quiet. The cabin is very comfortable, well heated, and has all the extras a person needs while there. The owner was excellent with communication, and quickly answered any questions or messages I sent. There was a winter storm while we were there, and the driveway was plowed at the perfect time- not too early in the morning, not too late for us to go where we wanted to go. Convenient location to Whiteface Mountain and Lake Placid. We had a great stay!

This cabin is such a good place for winter vacations. Close to ski places and Lake Placid, and Ausable river. Warm and clean, with plenty of wood ready for a fireplace. And owner, Bob, is a kind man. We are coming back quite soon for another ski trip.

Perfect cabin. Location meets all my needs. Beds were very comftable. Kitchen had everything. Love the large fireplace. The bathroom was large and very nice. Plenty of clean towels. I arrived and the cabin was nice and clean. I also loved the sound of the water from the river. I have stayed at this cabin before and plan on staying here again.

Nice cabin tucked slightly away from the town but still only 2 mins from restaurants and groceries. Has an oven, microwave, coffee pot, shower, ect. Clean and everything in good working order.
