About this house rental
Glen Ellen getaway 1 hour from the Golden Gate Bridge. The indoor/outdoor format allows you to flow back and forth between climate controlled comfort and swimming in the large custom in-ground pool (not heated), lounging on the deck, perusing the flower gardens, picking fresh produce from the garden in the back, lawn games or bocce, al fresco dining and refreshments on the deck, decompressing in the hot tub, or just letting the warm sunshine wash over you in one of the chaise loungers until you enter a Zen-like state. Spacious indoors and out, a dining room and two large common rooms with masonry fireplaces offer gathering places to relax and wind down after a full day with a meal and fire.
We are located in the heart of Sonoma Valley wine country. Several wineries are walkable, and dozens more are within a 10 minute drive. Hiking, biking, and picnicking in Sonoma Valley Regional Park, as well as guided nature walks in Bouverie Wildflower Preserve, are both a mile away. Charming downtown Glen Ellen is 1.5 miles down a country lane. The entrance to Jack London State Park and amazing hiking, picnicking, and historic buildings are two miles away; guided horseback riding is also available. The renowned Sonoma town square is 7.5 miles down Highway 12. Glen Ellen and Sonoma both offer great restaurants, Sonoma a wider selection. Your spirit of adventure will be met in full by the world class recreational activities at your fingertips.
The house itself is remodeled with abundant light from skylights, picture windows, and sliding glass doors. Almost every room has views of the lush, private back yard with extensive lawn, mature trees, and flowers in bloom most of the year. The house has 3 full baths including an en-suite master bath.

This house met our needs perfectly even as a large group of 9. We all commented on the beds and bedding being comfy, and the upstairs bathroom is set up great for sharing with two vanities. Multiple seating areas with comfy couches and beautiful outdoor area, fully stocked kitchen supplies for cooking. Host responded immediately even at 9:30pm about issue with hot tub that was quickly resolved. There were even extra pool floaties and an air machine to fill them. Would definitely recommend for a group gathering either with kids or adults!

Our family of 10: 5 adults ranging from 56-88 and 5 adults ranging from age 21-30 found great comfort in this beautiful home and on the property.
The kitchen is INCREDIBLY well supplied (spices and pots and pans, plenty of dishes, cutlery and glasses for indoor and outdoor use. There are plenty of pool towels and pool floats and chairs around the beautiful pool. It is a gorgeous property to wander and explore. There are lots of birds including a family of quail. There are lots of hang out spaces. This is an ideal home for a large gathering. The neighborhood is full of beautiful homes and beautifully landscaped yards- its a treat to wander through the neighborhood.
Downtown Sonoma, with fabulous restaurants, in less than 1/2 an hour away and there are more wineries in the vicinity than any group could reasonably visit in a month. There are a couple wineries very close- including Loxton where 8 of our 10 were able to just walk in without reservations and the tasting fee was applied to the cost of a bottle (or 2 or 6) of wine. Their port is exceptionally good. We ate incredible meals that we prepared in the kitchen and while there is much to do beyond the house it is a wonderful house and yard in which to just disappear from the world for awhile.

My friends and I had a wonderful stay in Robert’s home. It was a beautiful property and conveniently located near downtown Sonoma and many wineries. We would definitely return!

We had 10 girls stay in the house and had an absolutely fabulous weekend! The house is a great size and layout for a large group. We enjoyed morning walks around the neighborhood, visiting the local wineries and taking a short drive into downtown Sonoma. Great communication from the host and easy check in/check out!

Perhaps one of the best rental properties I’ve ever stayed at, this place was just perfect for a weekend getaway in wine country! Great location, excellent amenities, very well stocked kitchen—we felt right at home. Can’t wait to visit again!

We had a great time cooking and relaxing at the house with lots of great walks out the door and many nearby wineries. We all loved it and would definitely come back.

By far one of the best rentals I’ve ever stayed in. Plenty of space, lots of activities (hot tub, pool, bocce, game cabinet, just to name a few). Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, ample parking, and close to all the wine you could ever want! Rob was a great host and communicated great!

The owner was very communicative and offered nice recommendations, many of which we followed and enjoyed. Would stay here again.

We rented the house as three families with kids. The house was spacious and provided good accommodations for our stay. We enjoyed spending time in the hot tub and took advantage of the wood burning fireplace.
The house is very well stocked for kids, there's a whole lot of toys, games, pack n' play, feeding chair, and kids plates. That makes the stay with kids so much easier.
The kitchen was generally really well stocked and has everything needed to cook. Everything in the kitchen is nice and it looks newly renovated.
There were some pretty minor things we didn't like about the place: the heating system is uneven with the upstairs bedrooms staying rather chilly when the rest of the house is warm, the shower has a low-flow showerhead (though it's a fancy big one, there's just not enough water!), and some parts of the house feel a bit older/worn.
However, overall it was a great stay. The location and the property are amazing and we generally enjoyed our stay! Would definitely recommend this place.

The pictures on the VRBO are not as good as the actual house. We had a great week at this house and it was a super cute town close to many great vineyards.

This place was perfect for our group. The house has a nice layout that works well for family / friend get togethers: multiple living rooms, fully equipped gourmet kitchen, very good indoor outdoor connection, lots of amenities (pool, hot tub, bocce ball court). Location is also very good - quiet neighborhood, wineries within walking distance from the house, 5 min drive to grocery store, restaurants and bakery in Glen Ellen. We really enjoyed our stay.

10 friends and family members traveled from Indiana to California to celebrate a dear friend's 40th birthday. It was a lovely time! The back outdoor space was, by far, my favorite. We found ourselves hanging out there the most. The two separate seating areas were helpful, too.

My family (3 adult couples plus 2 grandchildren ) gathered for several days before my sons wedding at a local vineyard. The home is well equipped, the property is wonderfully maintained and the pool provided entertainment for all. The collection of scooters was such a treat for the 6 and 3 yo. The neighborhood is quiet and the town is charming. We give it our highest recommendation and will return!

We were a group of 10 adults visiting for a friend’s wedding. This house is exactly as listed; beautiful, spacious, clean, and was the perfect fit. We loved the yard and pool! Robert was easy to reach and helpful with any questions we had. We enjoyed their recommendations including “The girl and the fig” restaurant in Sonoma and Lennox vineyard down the road. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

This was a great house for family to gather during my son’s wedding in Sonoma. The house is well laid out to accommodate a large group very comfortably and the beds are comfortable too. We loved the outdoor spaces and the large pool was enjoyed by all ages. Overall the house was very clean, but the pool area could have used a sweep and the pool chairs were a little bit dirty. We used towels over them so not a problem. Overall everyone had a great time!

This home was just what our family needed! It was very comfortable as well as beautiful, with plenty of room inside and out. The pool was especially nice during our stay as a heat wave moved in. Outside, there were fruit trees, herbs, and some vegetables ripening, which we enjoyed adding to our menus. The nights were cool and the stars were spectacular. We'd love to come back someday!

We take an annual trip with 3 families with small children, and we all agreed this was our absolute favorite stay! The property is beautiful and comfortable - perfect for families and feels like a home. The deck looks out into the beautiful backyard and pool, and the owners really thought about all the little details - pool floaties for the kids, sunscreen and toys, even very nice shampoo in the master bathroom! We're really thankful we got to stay here! It was truly a treat.

Loved this home away from home. Teens and kids loved the pool and outdoor space. Great location. Loved Lasseter and close proximity to house. Only thing we would change is to make the lock box for the key easier to get to or switch to an electronic dead bolt.

We had a group of 5 couples and this space was great! Everyone was able to have their own room and the family room areas were perfect for gathering. We didn’t get to use the pool much but the bocce court was fun as was the hot tub! Rob was very responsive and easy to work with! (We didn’t need to contact him during the trip which I see as a positive as well!) There were a bunch of games which we got into in the evenings after dinner and was a great addition! Had trouble getting Uber out there when going into downtown Sonoma so we ended up driving or getting a driver, which still worked out for our group. Would definitely recommend this place!

We rented this property for a group of 9 cousins as a family reunion. The home is lovely, and very equipped. The backyard is like a park! There is a very large swimming pool and hot tub, as well as bocce ball court. The neighborhood is quiet, beautiful and peaceful. There are numerous vineyards within either walking distance, or a short drive. The town of Glen Ellen is maybe 10 minutes away, and there are several good restaurants, and a very nice market. It is about 20 minutes to the town square in Sonoma, with many good restaurants & shops.
Our host, Rob, was very helpful, and he even let us check in early.
I would highly recommend this property if you would like a lovely home in a beautiful & peaceful wine country location.

We used this lovely home as our base for exploring Sonoma. Made it to wineries, hiking, into Glen Ellen, and attended a wedding in Sonoma. The bedrooms were comfortable for everyone, and the kitchen/family room/deck provided plenty of casual spaces to hang out all together or in small groups. The mid century modern furniture is classic and lovely. The pool and all the games and accessories make the back yard lots of fun on a sunny weekend. Highly recommend.

This house is as advertised. It's in a beautiful neighborhood. The 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms made it easy for our group of 8 to stay here comfortably. The kitchen is big and very well- stocked, and the two eating areas allowed everyone to spread out for meals. The backyard is park- like, and the outdoor seating made it possible for everyone to enjoy the space. Things to be aware of - there's no closet in the master bedroom. There are a few hangers in the other bedrooms. The tile floors make it a cool-temperature house during colder weather. We'd definitely rent this property again.

The house was more than we expected. Glenn Ellen is a great way to see Napa and Sonoma Valleys without feeling like your part of the herd. Great wineries within 3 minutes and great access to hundreds more.

We were a group of six to seven adults sleeping at the house - and a mixture of family and friends visiting for meals and pool time. Sonoma was at its hottest whilst we were there - 110+ F degrees, and the enormous, chilly swimming pool was very appreciated! (The central A/C kept us all cool inside, too.) The house is very spacious inside and the yard is about two acres! We felt as if we were visiting family/friends; everything is provided from laundry detergent to paper supplies and we had full access to everything Robert's family uses when they are there themselves. So, a complete honor system is in place and it lends itself to making guests feel very welcome. We used the hot tub! We used the bocce court! We dined on the very large deck when the sun went down and things cooled off outside! Countless outdoor dining chairs, pool lounge chairs, wood tables, and such. There's a brand new washer and dryer set in the garage, along with a second refrigerator/freezer out there for surplus beverages/foods. The beds were comfortable! Lots of closet storage space and dresser drawers in every bedroom. The kitchen is completely stocked with large cooking vessels, many cool utensils, and multiple sets of dishes and silverware; entertaining here has positive flow and good chi. The stove top and double oven are GREAT. We prepared multiple meals here for 20+ people and it was thoroughly enjoyable cooking and serving appetizers on the counter area in-between the large open kitchen and the family room/dinette area. Our visiting family (staying elsewhere) were really impressed with the size and functionality of the home. There were a few minor tweaks I mentioned to Robert privately, but I would give this VRBO experience a 5 out of 5 stars for sure. The front facade of the property doesn't give a hint of how wonderful it is inside. LOTS of parking spots. The neighbors were never in view. Fabulous walks around the area right out of the door. The property is a short drive to Sonoma Square and to groceries and dining. Robert's suggestions were used by my entire family. The staircase is reminiscent of the Brady Bunch and I would imagine when the weather gets colder, the double fireplaces in the two living rooms flanking the kitchen must be cozy and fabulous. We really liked our week-long stay here, surrounding my son's wedding at Beltane Ranch - about a mile down the road! Thank you for being a great host, Robert. Lots of fond memories of your place!

Our family had a great trip to Glen Ellen and really enjoyed the home. Our group was multi generational and this was the perfect place to relax, connect, cook together and have a great time. It’s a very comfortable house with everything you need right there. I can’t recommend it enough and the owner was also a pleasure to deal with. Our family is already talking about when we can go back.
