The staff on-site was wonderful. However, there was no contact with anyone who wasn't preparing breakfast. We had to keep our bags with us for an hour when we arrived and when we came back, my room was still being cleaned. Our room was accessible, but the heat and air conditioning controls were not in the room and were fairly complicated. Other than that the breakfasts were delicious and quick and the staff was lovely.

The best part of our stay was the breakfast. The staff did a wonderful job and were very friendly. They were the only staff we encountered. For the price we expected a more personalized stay with daily maid service. There was no other contact except through email.

Home was very very clean , I loved the very Victorian, antique look. They served a very nice, healthy protein filled breakfast. The only mishap was me checking in and the door was initially unlocked to the entire house so I was a little frightened but quickly other guests arrived and it felt very homey I loved it

Overpriced for a room full of cheapish antiques and a musty odor. House is pretty from outside but really needs attention by it's owner if it expects to keep prices so high.Someone representing owners should be on site. The house is full of very cheap polyester " oriental" rugs. Rip out the stank carpet & refinish wood floors. There doesn't appear to be any art. Our room didn't have any ,not a piece!Breakfast was merely ok. The old girl needs some polishing up and you could charge even more. But not with curtains bought from Walmart

This is a very well-maintained classic Victorian Bed & Breakfast. Our room was very comfortable. The mattress and pillows were perfect. The Hennessy House is approximately four city blocks from multiple restaurants and shops. It is located in a very quiet area. We felt like it was safe, comfortable and extremely convenient. The breakfast of poached eggs on toast with avocado and bacon was delightful.

Impersonal atmosphere. No staff greeting. Only contact was breakfast server.

Hennessy House is a beautiful old Victorian home a few walking blocks from downtown Napa is a very quiet neighborhood.
Communication with reservations was excellent. Breakfast was fabulous. Staff very friendly. Room was large and comfortable.
My only suggestion would be larger sign plaques on the bedroom doors to make it easier to find your room.

My wife and I really enjoyed our 3 day stay. The room was comfortable, and the breakfasts each morning were delicious and had variety; different every day.

This house was fantastic- super quiet and intimate and just on the outskirts of the main drag. Just be warned the Dream Suite does NOT have a tv…as long as you’re okay with that you’ll have a great stay!

This is a scam. Internet and Siri both show this property as permanently closed. They charge your card and there is no one there.

Napa concert for a birthday. Walking distance to downtown and restaurants. Easy check in and parking available. Comfortable bed and room.

Beautiful gardens and historic architecture.

Not at all what we were hoping for. Very run down furnishings and bathrooms. The "free breakfast" was terrible. Gone are the days of the lovely B&B host cooking a beautiful meal. Not even salt and pepper shakers on the table - they gave us little paper S&P. Very disappointing!

The condition of the hotel is awful ! It is old, smelly and uncomfortable. Nobody to complain at the site… if you call their number nobody answers and direct you to send an email with yr question or complain.
My recognition goes to Claudia and Charlie, that clean the rooms and prepare breakfast, they run the hotel by themselves and try hard to do their best, but quite difficult because the whole thing has no hope.
I don’t understand the reviews I read about this hotel, reason for me to book it, I think I might have stayed in a different one… HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. If you want a nice Bed & Breakfast in Napa, try The Elm House, loved that one.

Hennessy House is in the perfect location for walking to downtown Napa. We loved parking in their lot and not having to drive to dinner. Our room was small and cozy and felt like we were visiting family. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed chatting with the other guests about wine tastings and restaurants. We would stay again.

You can’t beat the history on this B&B. It was beautifully done with all the flowers and it was really a great location. Had a great time would stay there again.

The breakfast and dining area are great. The meal was wonderful. It's walking distance to downtown. We has tickets for a concert at the Bluenote and it was just a few block walk. We had a minor toilet problem that they responded to right away. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We plan to go back

There are downsides to staying in a 150 years old wooden house. It smells of wood and creaks. But I think it's renovated beautifully, not overdone it and eveything works. Rooms are large, common areas are comfortable, breakfast is delicious and patio is amazing.

It is a beautiful old home and has different rooms that are separate from each other. They serve a really nice breakfast. They accommodated my husband's diet needs (Celiac, so that was kind of them.)

Nice place to stay in Downtown Napa. It’s a cute BNB. No real service per se except for breakfast, but that’s okay. Self checkin was a breeze. Bed was very comfortable. Walking distance to everything. For the price, it’s a great option. I would stay here again. Recommended!

The staff at breakfast, esp Claudia, was so friendly and helpful that it made my stay feel very homey and welcome. The room was beautiful with a great thermostat and a comfortable bed. I definitely recommend it!

It's a beautiful property, wonderfully restored. Our Bridle Suite was great although the fireplace did not work and the shower setup needed safety handles.

Beautiful estate home. Room layout was nice but cobwebs all over on light fixture. Hot water in shower literally took eight min to get to lukewarm (felt guilty for keeping it running but needed a shower). Rest of room very nice.
Didn’t see staff at all except for breakfast crew. Food was ok. No other service- Not even check in/ out.

Nice Victorian home. Bathroom and carpet need upgrading. Dining and living room very nice. Breakfast crew was awesome and did everything to exceed our expectations

This was our third stay at Hennessey House. We love the house and try out different rooms each time we stay. We'll be back in two weeks to stay in the "Bridal Suite."
Charlie & Claudia are the best and make a delicious breakfast each morning!
A couple improvements that could be made:
1. The outdoor lighting is way too dim to see the steps from the parking lot. There is also a tree stump that can't be seen at night and is a major trip hazard. Best to use the ramp to get to the door rather than the steps at night.
2. Please offer larger sized soaps in the room. Extremely tiny, thin soap.
Note: Rooms are not automatically cleaned each day. I think they'll do it if asked.

Not enough lighting around property. Hard to visualize steps etc

Our room wars clean, very comfortable, and quiet, we stayed in the carriage house, in the Sage creek room. There was another older couple in the room next door, but we barely knew they were there. We probably were the loud ones. The kitchen staff was very nice, please tip them, and breakfast was good. Overall, we had a good stay.

We stayed here in 2018 and the property had been recently upgraded (impeccably) at that time, with upgraded fixtures, linens, etc., and offered high end bath products.
Staying here this time was a shock at first. We noticed there is definitely a lower standard in the maintenance and upkeep of the inn. The carpets are worn and dirty looking, repairs in the room done without attention to detail (mismatched drape holders of a cheap material glued to the wall with a dark glue/ caulk, shower re-caulked in places with the same dark/ mismatched substance), bathroom pedestal sink not grounded to floor properly and has surface cracks, no remote to turn on the gas fireplace so we weren't able to enjoy that, and the bath soap was a tiny, paper-thin bar like I've never seen; mismatched shampoo/ conditioner. Most importantly, the outdoor lighting is so low that it's dangerous at night! The breakfast was good and the kitchen staff were so, so nice. We love the house and will likely stay here again but the management really need to improve on the details. Apparently the inn was sold a couple years ago. We'd love to see the pride of ownership the previous owners showed. Three nights, no room cleaning, no phone number to call staff and no response to email request regarding fireplace - disappointing.

We had a wonderful stay. Your staff is so nice and accommodating. The breakfast was awesome.

Very dissatisfied the carpet was disgustingly dirty in the room and in the hallways! Please tear the carpets out. The breakfast was good but not gourmet in any way! And the worst thing was no cleaning daily! Terrible will not be back!

I checked into this property and was greeted by an older woman who appeared friendly. On further acquaintance she presented herself as lonely and invited herself out to dinner with me. I felt bad and humoured this. Long story short, it turned out to be a chapter out of a horror story. She ended up getting intoxicated and physically attacking me after dinner. The police were called and she was taken away. I ended up having to find another place to stay in the middle of the night; not to mention I was completely traumatized. To add insult to injury, when the owners called me to inquire about my “stay”, I was advised that this employee had had previous complaints. When I called Expedia to inquire about a refund, I was told to go through the merchant directly as the merchant was not responding to Expedia’s attempts at communication. I did just that, and was promised a refund in the form of a check. This refund was never received. I held off writing this review in hopes that I would at least get my money back, but this was not the case. If you care about your sanity this is probably not the best option out there.

It's a beautiful property nicely located in a quiet neighborhood but a short walking distance away from downtown Napa. Breakfast was very nice and we really enjoyed our stay.
